Baiser Vole Essence de Parfum

I finally tracked down a sample, and let me tell you, it was a mission. It is so hard to find that it almost feels discontinued, so my expectations were sky high. The accords on Fragrantica are absolutely my style. The moment I sprayed it, my husband immediately said it smells like sunscreen and off bug spray. And honestly, I completely see what he means. The vanilla here has a distinct saltiness that gives off that slightly tropical, repellent adjacent first impression. Not sure if I got a bad sample or what because is it suppose to have that impression? But for me, the magic is in the lily. It is incredibly comforting, even if it reads just the slightest bit artificial. There is a gentle, almost powdery lightness to this fragrance that feels like a warm hug, and I also pick up a subtle boozy undertone that adds an unexpected sophistication. It is a quiet, intimate scent rather than a loud performer. There is a gentle sweetness in it that I adore. I love a good clean sweetness. I absolutely love the DNA, but I desperately wish it had more projection and longevity. If anyone knows of a Middle Eastern fragrance that captures this exact salty vanilla lily vibe but with beast mode performance, please tell me. I would love to find a stronger, more potent twist on this beautiful composition. Open to the possibility that I got a bad sample so it may not be performing in its most optimal state. Edit: after wearing this for a few hours im loving it. It almost reminds me of cream soda in the sweetness. And the feeling of being clean and fresh out of a hot shower and putting on luxury lotion. I love this

It smells exactly like Easter lily (Lilium longiflorum) - white trumpet lily. Beautiful, cold, lofty. Very realistic fragrance, I've found all notes typical of Easter lily: sugary narcotic jimsonweed, cinnamic plastic-y balm poplar and resinous note of propolis. It smells also like jimsonweed because white trumpet lily has scent similar to this night blooming flower. Jimsonweed is lighter, white trumpet lily possess resinous note of propolis (smelling like patchouli + rum + incense). And this resinous note evaporates slowly into jimsonweed. You can find there traces of 1. yellow azalea (Rhododendron luteum) which smells much heavier than lily with marsh Labrador tea note, 2. korean spice viburnum (Viburnum carlesii) which is maybe more carnation-like but with the same resinous propolis note as well 3. balm poplar buds in the spring (Populus balsamifera). Baiser Vole Essence de parfum smells like L'Instant EDT(!) without sweetness of vanilla, without the tender note of citrus and plus resinous propolis note. I think both perfumes can be mixed, layered. I like it better than the original which smells more of Calla lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica) and florist shop. Edit: @Objestions It's discontinued??? NOOOOOO! PROS: my version is carcinogen free!! (no BHT, benzophenone nor ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate), but better check ingredients, because there can be other edition of this fragrance)

As I'm sorting out my bottles to sell on ebay, I had to sniff this one more time as a farewell, since I chose to keep Guerlain L'instant edp over it. L'instant is less rich, less voluptuous and is more in line with my tastes even though I'm not really into "pretty florals" that much anymore. Baiser volé in the essence version really has that round, concentrated bourbon vanilla that takes it into "oriental" territory instead of sharp soliflore territory like the original edp. The lily is thick smelling and full of pollen. I noticed lately that big florals are back, as long as they are "clean" and sanitized (so many orange blossoms/tuberose/jasmine blends out there). I think if you can stand lilies, this is a good scent to wear to stand out from the crowd and it doesn't just smell like shampoo like so many other florals do right now. The original edp was really well behaved and almost virginal but I feel like the Essence is more sensual, more tanned skin/summery/tropical and more in line with contemporary tastes. A good alternative to all the "sunscreen" scents popular right now. This is less thin, less "body care". It really smells like an expensive perfume. Bottle is really gorgeous, they really made an effort with that one!

A velvety sumptuous beauty. This has certainly stolen me. It opens a bit sharp, with the pinch of the bourbon and the green of the leaves and stem of the lily, but wait... just wait. This flower will bloom for you, into a rich sweet, but not overly so, blossom - that is as others have said, so soft, elegant, and feminine. Just two notes here, so well composed, the vanilla bourbon entices the lily to show all of herself to you. The two are entwined, and they dance so beautifully if you let them mingle - on me about 20 minutes after the initial spray, they are like lovers coming together. My god this is just so beautiful to me! As the name suggests, this perfume is for the sweetness of stolen kisses, the passion of seduction, and great loves. I think longevity and sillage are wonderful - just enough to entice the one for whom you're longing. The sprays to my wrists applied yesterday evening are still very present, albeit softer and more powdery - as if the last of the nectar of the bud has opened, and is being carried away by the warm of a gentle wind. I agree that this is the stuff signature scents are made of, and for the time being, I too have just found mine.

The original Baiser Vole is my favorite perfume, so much so that I keep multiple sized bottles (1.7, 3.4...) for emergencies. You never know when Carter will discontinue a fragrance, like they did with Delices EDP for example, my other favorite. BV is a classic scent, yet it is still youthful; It is green, powdery, fresh, and sweet, but it is not sweet in a sugary way. Fast forward to BV Essence, and I've fallen in love for a second time. Baiser Vole Essence is what happens when Baiser Vole has a love-child with vanilla. The Vanilla slightly amps up the sweetness, but not in a sickening way. It is an elegant sweet, and it is sexxxxxy because of this. Now to the unfortunate part, this fragrance is discontinued. There are bottles floating around the perfume dimension for niche prices, but they are rare. I managed to locate a pack of twelve 1.5ml sample vials for a reasonable price, but it does not offer the same experience as having and holding the beautiful BV bottle in ones hand. Hopefully, my dreams will come true soon, and I'll have a full bottle of BV Essence in my collection.
