Declaration L'Eau

Didn't know this even existed. Didn't know house even existed. I was browsing the store and this was on sale. Just sitting there and I have tried mostly everything in the store, so I gave this one a try. It was an instant wow!! I immediately tried the original Declaration and d'Un Soir and though on paper they were amazing, on my skin they turn into something so foul you would need a flamethrower to kill it But L'Eau sat on me perfectly. Sparkling grapefruit and ginger with a hint of mint and woody peppery dry down, invigorating freshness that would pierce through all the summer heat. Very very refreshing and long lasting for a citrus frag. I was surprised. Not that light. For me, something between Dior Homme Cologne and Light Blue. Same freshness, same vibe, very summery. Maybe a tad bit less classy than Dior Homme Cologne, but the difference in quality is negligible. Not an aquatic, but an amazing freshie. Has that cooling lemonade effect, like you are near the ocean, sun is blazing, the air is hot, the sand on fire, your skin is dry and you're in the shade sipping this cold refreshing, tad bitter, tad sweet lemonade. Or like you entered in a freezer full of grapefruit and lemons. Lasts 6 hours, projects well for 2.5. Respraying makes it's aura last the whole day as it is refreshing, but not that light. Not cloying by any means. Imagine lemons on your skin that last and last. Strong and you feel them all day long but not offensive. This is exactly that. Just, these notes are wrong because there is definitely more to it. I would say, Grapefruit, Cedar, Pink Pepper, definitely Ginger, Lime and slight Mint. Note: This is a limited edition and has been discontinued. It was produced only in 2014 and not after. This is confirmed, so if anyone wants it, know that it will soon run out.

I'm only just coming to write my review as I've had this on my list for sometime without doing anything about it, saw it cheap and just had to buy it. Well, it's just as I remember, an excellent kind of freshie that evokes aquatic vibes but with a super simple composition which opens sharp, kinda bitter grapefruit, pink pepper and I could swear a kinda cumin/caraway sort of thing which is a direct nod to the original on a cedar base. Oh yeah I get a touch of ginger in L'eau too, although it might just be the extra sharpness of the citrus & pink pepper giving that effect. It's classic and does resemble Dior Homme Cologne to some extent but with loads of the original Declaration as well making it a unique prospect. I was a little disappointed with performance, considering I sprayed it in store when it was released a few years back and thought the longevity was superb for this kind of fragrance. Anyway I'm glad to have it in my collection for another option on hotter days. Oh and Cartier have some classy looking bottles, this is no exception. Update: After owning this one for a while now, I'm gonna say that my initial regard for it was scuppered after I purchased it thinking....this isn't quite how I recall it being. However, wearing it more it's brought to light the spicier facets and even the light, curry leaf, cumin notes of the original, politely and distantly being nodded at and evoked by what is a brilliant, throwaway version of the original Declaration. This having more brightness and gingery pep to it. I love it again.

Cool, sugared, edible, LIME! Sharp, cool, realistic, sparkling lime. Like a limeade. I can't imagine women not liking this one on a man. I love the citrus top notes, but I'm pretty sure there's more there besides grapefruit and lime. I get lime mostly, and I'm no expert, so I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I'm thinking there's possibly some yuzu maybe? I say that because it shares some slight similarities with Eau De Cartier Concentree. Excellent warm weather or every day scent. The heart of this scent could stand to be stronger, but I think that would defeat the purpose of the scent for most. L'Eau Intense, perhaps? I'd buy it. Honestly, I've got to say, this is the slightly less classy little brother of Dior Homme Cologne! And that's not a bad thing at all... Update: The more I wear this, the more I agree with my previous assessment (as well as others) that this is very similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but with added lime and a hint of musk to my nose. This is a hugely underrated scent that should not have been a limited edition. If you like Dior Homme Cologne but don't like its price, look no further. This is the scent for you. And for less than $30! Even if you already own Dior Homme Cologne, this is a great one to wear when you get bored with the simplicity of Dior Homme Cologne.

Luckily this isn't all that popular and it's still easy to find being a limited edition. Gonna have to stock up. Easily one of the best citrus freshies I've smelled! Performance isn't too bad for the style either. Linear is a fairly decent word to describe this frag but that's not a knock. The scent holds merit on it's simplicity. A citrus rind mixed with a sagey kind of herbal feel. It's light, refreshing and perfect for summer. It's quite unique in that it isn't citrus heavy but well mixed with it's other parts. After the herb mutes a little, you're left with a crisp citrus that's a bit spicy. It's wonderful. The performance, again, is quite good for the style. I get about 6-7 hours before it fades away and the sillage is moderate to heavy. Anyone could wear this but it's definitely a spring/summer kind of affair. Quality frag from the house of Cartier.

Declaration L’eau is one of my absolute favorite fresh scents. I have found that when a complex fragrance with character gets the l’eau or au Fraiche treatment, things usually turn out very well. The mix of cardamom (yes, it’s in here no matter what Fragrantica lists above) and cedar with all the top-note citruses is just a delight. The blending is just superb and the result quite addicting. As the citrus burns off, the cedar and cardamom remain for a good duration, but somehow the scent remains fresh and light, perfect for warm weather. However, this is no ordinary freshie, and is easily wearable in fall and spring due to the spicy/woody base. L’eau is easily my favorite iteration of Declaration. Love, love, love this one.

absolutely great summer scent! great mix of grapefruit, lime, cedar and ginger (i smell it there too) and something other warm and spicy (maybe the pink pepper? :) the first smell is a bomb of fresh citrus notes and after 1-2 hours it turns to calm warmly but still very freshly smell - cedar notes became first, the citrus notes behind but still with good intense... after few more hours the smell is more spicy and (finally) a little bit masculine. Declaration l ́eau seems to be simple, when you look at the ingredients, but it ́s a really sophisticated perfume. It ́s very unisex, but for me a little bit more feminine. I think it will be my favourite summer scent not only this summer :)

I was looking for a summer scent that doesn't smell too generic or even douche-y. I end up with this and boy it is very addicting. If you know the notes of the original Declaration then the best way I can describe the L'Eau is it's not as harsh and strong (in terms of spice), yet it's refined with cleaner & refreshing tone, with a bit stronger citrus note. It's a lot more cleaner and brighter. Bottom line it's Declaration for summer days. I actually prefer this over the original Declaration.

I Love Cartier Declaration family. but if you have Declaration, there is no need to buy Declaration L'Eau ! there is no big difference. I smell flower very similar to Rose, like other Declaration but in this page not listed in notes. not loud Grapefruit. This is the best flanker of Declaration since Essence (I don't see D'un Soir as a flanker). It clearly has the dna from the regular Declaration, but the "dirty" spicy notes of cardamom and cumin are replaced with fresher notes of citrus and greapfruite. It has the bitterness like the original, but L'eau is much more wearable in the Summer. As a fan of original Declaration, I'm very satisfied to have L'eau in my collection.

Great summer cologne. Light and vibrant skin scent. Declaration l'Eau is pretty much everything what I expected from Terre d'Hermes Eau Fraiche to be. The latter is too loud, to heavy for the heat - Cartier suits me much better. Actually it is my husband's perfume, but I am the person who sniffs him and the one who shall approve the scent :) I'm sure I will also use it occasionally, because of it's unisex character.

A blind buy, I do not regret, awesome price for great smelling fragrance, I wish it lasted a bit longer. I do not get the significant similarity to Dior homme cologne. It reminds of a mix between Terre de hermes eau tres fraiche and De bachmakov.... Scent: 9 performance: 6.5 presentation: 8 Overall: 8 a really good NOT cheap smelling fragrance for summer

@FreshTones Yes, and shhh, don't talk so loud, others will hear you!! This is a hidden gem and if other know about it, it will sell out fast. For the moment it's widely available an cheap so stock up. I have few bottles, and will get a few more so it can last me a decade. I'm so sorry this is limited, it's better than any other Declaration.

I find the opening very green. I get grapefruit (more yellow than pink if you ask me). What stands out the most to me is lime and mint, and I'm surprised these aren't part of the composition. Maybe they are and maybe they aren't, who knows. It's very airy, fresh and reminds me of a mojito and/or a gin & tonic. I love it.

This is a gorgeous fragrance for its category. So light, Very refreshing fruity and yet bitter with some woods/vetiver to keep it solid and serious. It has the best grapefruit note I have ever smelled. Real frozen grapefruits juice and zest. The discounted price for the superb quality is unbelievable. 10/10

Just got a sample from Bloomingdale's and really like it quite a bit. Opening of Pink Grapefruit then goes to mix with come cedar. A light pleasant smell..has little bit a of a Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil feel to it...but not as sharp. Great for the summer! Long Lasting Longevity and Soft Sillage.

Strictly comparing both the fragrances; This perfume sometimes surpasses Bleu de Chanel. The freshness of the grapefruit in this perfume is exceptionally good. My wife loves this perfume, she took it from my closet and lends it to me occasionally. :)

Declaration L'Eau is a lighter version of the original Declaration, which can be a bit strong. It is bright and sunny, fruity and woody. The pepper gives it a spicy touch. It lasts a very long time on me. Perfect for summer days. I love it!!

A successful Declaration flanker; addictive from the first sniff. It's cool/ fresh, sharp/ sour, and spicy according to my nose. Good for day use, regardless of the season. Some notes are missing (cardamom at least).

Very nice, soft, and fresh summer scent, sadly I found out about it just now. It aligns with the Declaration DNA, but softer and simpler with a hint of clean soapy note. There is something minimalistic in it

The fragrance feels average, blue, casual, common, cool, delicate, diluted, diurnal, dry, fresh, citrusy, light, low-quality, modern, refreshing, short-lived, sour, sporty, slightly sweet, unisex, white, woody, and pleasant.

There's a review somewhere around here which says this has the Declaration DNA but the dirtier notes of cumin and cardamom have been replaced with fresher notes of citrus and grapefruit. This is only half true. It's very important to note that Declaration L'Eau still maintains the original's DNA exactly because it still contains those spicy, slightly dirty notes of cumin and cardamom. After all, those are what make Declaration, Declaration. However, they are much less intense in this edition and are on equal footing with what smells like grapefruit and some limes. So please do not buy this with the expectation that the cumin or cardamom has been removed from it. It hasn't...fortunately. After all, these notes are what separate it from all the other summer citrus fragrances out there and make it interesting, as well as a flanker worthy of the Declaration moniker. I mean, if they had been removed, wouldn't this be an awfully boring scent? Here in L'Eau, the cumin and cardamom give it some warmth, and an almost salty quality, similar to one's skin after it's been in the sun for a while. The bright citruses on top add a refreshing, cooling element. And that's L'Eau for you. It actually reminds me more of Declaration Intense than regular Declaration. I find that Intense is much smoother than the original. The cumin and cardamom--while strong in Intense--are blended meticulously and rounded out. It's the same way here, but much lighter. I like the way this smells, as I always enjoyed Declaration Intense even if I found the cumin a little too heavy at times. Overall L'Eau is a well-made lighter, more citrusy version of Declaration (or more accurately, Declaration Intense). It's easy to wear any time and offers something a little different than your average citrus freshie. Its biggest drawback is probably its performance. While the longevity is fine (average), this one could use a little more projection as it stays relatively close to the skin. Also, if you've never smelled anything from the Declaration family before, you should either sample this first or sample the original or Intense version to get an idea about how the cumin and cardamom notes smell. They are distinct, and some people interpret them as smelling sort of dirty. I happen to like them here, but they might not be for everybody. To conclude, this gets a thumbs up with the recommendation of sampling first if you are unfamiliar with the line. Final Note: I've heard this compared to Dior Homme Cologne several times, but I'm not so sure the comparison is warranted. Due to the distinct Declaration DNA, this quite different than DHC which has not even a hint of cumin or cardamom. And although both feature grapefruit, here it is a juicier grapefruit with lime, whereas DHC is drier with perhaps more lemon. In fact, the citrus facets in L'Eau remind me a little bit of Dior Homme Sport 2008, if anything. But just for the hell of it, if you were to put Dior Homme Cologne, Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, and Declaration along a spectrum from "cleanest" to "dirtiest," they would fall in this order. If you like that little bit of dirt that's in Eau Tres Fraiche and feel like you could do with even a little more, try L'Eau. It might work for you.

Cartier's Declaration L'Eau is a very nice perfume. It's blended extremely well. It's only a soft projector and has a short life of three hours or so. On spraying, the cedar, pink grapefruit and pink pepper emerge in that order. The decline in strength is rather rapid. The top note is rather reminiscent of the Calabrian bergamot that masquerades as lime in Dior Homme Cologne 2013. The combination of the pink pepper and pink grapefruit in Declaration L'Eau has the effect of giving a hint of cardamom and ginger that is found in the original Declaration. It's a very clever piece of perfumery that has a lot of people swearing that it has cardamom in it. It doesn't though. If it did, it would give a different effect combined with the three notes Cartier listed, which are the same here on Fragrantica. There is a green note in there somewhere too. Declaration L'Eau is a more interesting and sophisticated version of Dior Homme Cologne 2013 and is very similar to Declaration Cologne. Another casualty of discontinuation.

How the heck do you expect me to believe that a Declaration flanker, that smells like the original Declaration doesn't have Declaration's signature cardamom? If it looks like a dog, walks like a dog, and barks like a dog, it's a cat..?! No it's a dog Cartier you idiots. Anyway.. Declaration L'Eau (DLE) is a fresh take on the original Declaration (OGD) & even though it's fresher & more citrusy, it's far from being an aquatic as the blue bottle & the word (L'Eau) may suggest. In DLE, they took OGD's DNA, its signature cardamom, & added a large amount of citrusy zest in grapefruit, to create a grapefruit/cardamom fragrance at 60%/40% concentration, respectively. DLE is a nice spicy citrusy scent that stays true to the original & it would be an absolute treat to the lovers of OGD who are looking for a more heat-friendly version. A decent release from Cartier. "Like"!

Tested on an arm: Will wonders never cease? I normally don't like fresh, clean light "blue"/"water" scents - but I like this one. It starts out citrusy and eventually makes its way to the mild spices of familiar Declaration territory. That means that I still like the original Declaration (I have a bottle) and all of the flankers. I'm not sure if I could wear this one, however. I suspect it's better on a younger guy. Longevity and silage are about average for a modern scent. ------- All day wearing via a Nordstrom sample: Scratch that last part about longevity. I own a bottle of Declaration - it's one of my "go to" frags - but the longevity on this flanker is just not as good. I'll stick with the original Declaration, thank you very much. Pretty bottle hue, though. I prefer Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche or Eau Sauvage for the same sort of vibe.

PREJUDICE: My first Declaration, they are a classy classic, aren't they, so predisposed to liking my tester. 1st IMPRESSION: Lovely fresh, sour grapefruit, very invigorating. There's woodiness in the background, and some spice I can't identify. Notes say pink pepper, ok. Maybe something else too. 2nd WEAR. I love spraying this on after shower. This reminds me of the opening of Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir! A fresh and un-gourmand green cardamon along with citruses (grapefruit and lime here, bergamot in NR) give both the same kind of zing. I love and own NRBN, Declaration L'Eau is even fresher. VERDIC: This is excellent and would be a perfect sports and spring/summer scent for grown-up men. Very much a Guerlain L'Homme Eau Boisee vibe. It's light and doesn't last that long so go trigger happy. Enjoy life.

بسم الله یه عطر چوبی میوه ای خوب برای استفاده روزانه ترکیبات عطر بسیار سادست به غیر از چند تا نت که من احساسشون کردم ولی در این جا درج نشده بوی گریپ فروت اولین و غالب ترین رایحه ای هست که در این عطر میتونید حسش کنید بعد از مدت کمی انگار هوس میکنید یه مقدار خیلی کمی نمک بپاشیدرو گریپ فروت . یه همچین حسی داره در ادامه روایح چوب سدر و فلفل صورتی کم کم وارد بازی نت ها میشوند با این حال گریپ فروت نقش اصلی را ایفا میکند یه مقدار بسیار کمی هم بوی خزه های جنگلی رو میشه از لابلای این عطر احساس کرد که جالب هست. در کل عطریست که زیادم خنک نیستش و بهترین فصل استفادش به نظر خودم "بهار هست و بعد برای تابستان رایحه کلی عطر تلخ و ترش و چوبی هستش خوب حالا میرسیم به بحث ماندگاری و پخش بو ماندگاری در هوای نسبتا خنک نهایتا 5 ساعت روی پوست من دوام داشت و پخش بوش تا 2 ساعت متوسط بعد از اون میچسبه به پوست

I'm going to go ahead and add my 2 cents here given that I've been wearing this off and on for about 2 weeks now. It seems that this is a lighter, more citrus intense version of Declaration with the cumin and cardamom notes severely dialed back or entirely replaced with a more bitter orange note. The scent starts out bright, but then turns into little more than a skin scent within an hour or two. After three hours, it's almost undetectable unless I press my nose into my wrist. It's a delightful scent, not quite of the caliber of Declaration Cologne (still love that ginger note), and definitely designed for generous application in the summer time. Fans of Declaration will find this appealing and reminiscent of its namesake, but it's still very much a flanker of the original.

DrNDJas is spot on: There is definitely cardamom here, which makes sense because would this really be a Declaration flanker if there wasn't? I think not! Unfortunately, I don't much care for cardamom, which is a big reason why I've been lukewarm on the rest of the line. The good news is it's toned down considerably in this one, with a STRONG blast of grapefruit dominating the fragrance for its first 30 or so minutes. After that, it's business as usual, yet Declaration L'Eau dries down much more gently than its siblings, which I find makes it much more wearable. I'm still not a big fan of the cardamom note but I'll give it this: it makes the fragrance smell much more mature and interesting than other "fresh" flankers. I'd recommend this one to any distinguished gentleman.

Declaration L'Eau was a blind buy for me, and a nice one for that matter. The grapefruit (tart) notes, infused with light spices (pepper), and aquatics (freshness) really give this cologne nice character and bit of depth. This cologne isn't ground breaking, but definitely smells nice. It reminds me of the various Issey Miyake flankers. Definitely, get your nose on Declaration L'Eau if you like the original. Declaration L'Eau would be a nice addition to one's summer rotation, if you like this genre of summer cologne. Thus far, performance seems to be average, but I will know more as I'll soon have more opportunities to experience this cologne in warm/hot temperatures. Overall (Scent): 7.5/10

I got this by accident. I had ordered Declaration and they sent me L'eau instead. I decided to try it anyway, and I was stunned. It has a very natural smell. The notes arent clashing over each other, instead they are sparingly introduced, which allow the composition to breathe and unfold in a very balanced way. The opening is a blast of grapefruit. It smells quite natural, with a hint of sweetness. The pepper is introduced shortly after, and this combination lasts for 15 minutes or so, after which a nice cedar note appears. After an hour the cedar is at the forefront, complimenting the grapefruit and pepper nicely. Longevity is ok - I get a solid 5-6 hours. Rating: 8.5/10

I tried this today and couldn't stop smelling my hand where I'd sprayed it. It seems to be a simple fresh summer type scent but something about it is really compelling! The opening recalls the original Declaration (as well as Terre d'Hermes and some of it's flankers) but this is definitely more palatable and not so harsh (as beautiful as those scents are they are not for everyone or every occasion). In the late dry down I get a slight lime & tea vibe, although they're not listed, reminding me a little of Eau de Gaga (don't shoot me haha!) and the fragrance as a whole is incredibly refreshing and uplifting. Scent:9/10

Declaration L'Eau Cartier is a citrus and woody fragrance. Its opening is citric and bitter, almost like lemon zest that must be due to the grapefruit that combined with the other notes is truly fresh and addictive. I don't think the three notes declared here are the only ones they have, as it still retains the DNA from the original statement. This is more casual and fresh. To use it on weekends, outings to family parties, etc. Mainly for daytime use. Recommended for those who enjoy citrus fragrances

The notes are not complete. It has definitely cumin and cardamom. It reminds me slightly Hermès Voyage d`Hermes and of course the original Cartier Declaration with some citruses added. Moderate performance, pleasant smell, I recommend it for spring and summer, day time, if you like the original Declaration.

This is one of my favorite summer fragrances. I prefer it instead of classic one, it's simple, fresh, fizzy and enjoyable. If you're into citrus scents, that's a good choice. Not really long-lasting, not invasive. It's a summer scent, so it's ok for its purpose. 8/10

Like the original, but turn down the cardamom and turn up a bit more citrus freshness. Krigler 31 for poor people in the summertime!

I tried it on my skin in a Douglas shop. Really fresh opening, but after an hour all that was left was a weak scent of synthetic lemon.

It smells like mint&grapefruit flavor candy, but I do like it. It's a nice scent.

Batch: 07-2014. This juice cuts through stifling wet humidity like a Yoshikane knife through a fresh grapefruit. A frozen grapefruit (the entire fruit, the zesty rind, and the fruity flesh) pulverised/juiced over fresh cedar shavings and sprinkled with pink pepper. 100% a unisex fragrance, anyone can easily wear this. Minimal but effective in the heat. Okay-ish longevity, I get 3 to 4 hours before it becomes a skin scent; however, it does still ping off the skin for a couple of hours after. But come on, it's a citrus fragrance, most of them are like that. Over spray and enjoy. Happy days. Like many citrus fragrances, this is a one-trick pony (usage in summer, especially in high heat/humidity, not suitable for any other time of year), but it does the one trick very well. Reviews below have mentioned similarities to both Hermes Voyage EDT and Dior Homme Cologne. Leau does not smell like either of those. It can be used in the same situation (high heat/humidity) as Dior Homme Cologne, but as an actual fragrance, it smells absolutely nothing like it at all. Overall, I'm a fan of Mathilde Laurent's output at Cartier. She hasn't created anything I actively dislike, and most are very pleasant surprises. Edit: Bought a backup bottle as I can tell I'm going to burn through my OG bottle in no time. I'm an expat in Jakarta, and it's like this stuff was tailored especially for the region's humidity. That zesty, rindy yet still extremely plump and juicy grapefruit, combined with the zing of the pink pepper and slight tinge of OG Declaration DNA underneath, is like taking a cold shower in the morning. Extremely invigorating. I've been spraying this on before and after golf/tennis/gym/lap swimming, and it makes for an excellent, classy-smelling sports fragrance. 7.5/10

I have the Declaration and I always didn't settle for it being less usable, due to the sweaty alpha male footprint it sports, until I came across this beauty here! Wow, what a delight to discover the dreaded "football player's crotch", post-match, in an L'eau version! The fragrance opens identical to the Declaration, I even smelled disappointment, but it doesn't last more than 1 hour and already diminishes the heavy sensation of spices that explodes at the exit, giving way to a more ventilated, fruity and summery "what". A metallic citrus touch is noticeable; very juicy this phase here. I really like the feeling of its environment, where fresh notes appear and are reminiscent of the beach and sun, but without falling into the cliché of fragrances that carry the smell of suntan lotions and nothing else, no, this one brings a spiciness, a memory again of its ascendant Declaration, but nothing dirty. Finally, this L'eau version comes as a surprise for having a considerably positive permanence on the skin, bringing with it characteristics of a bombastic fragrance, but more behaved and restrained. There's a slight burn here at the end that's reminiscent of wood being clenched, and nothing more. It's worth it for those who want a lighter version of Declaration, or use one during the day and the other at night!

I recently bought a 50 ml bottle of this amazing fragrance. I already possessed the original declaration at the time and still do, but I must say that this it is whole other take on in the declaration DNA. So what do I get out of this fragrance? It has the same light Declaration DNA but with a great amount of slightly synthetic sweet grapefruit. I do not agree with the notes listed in the description of this scent. There definitely is more to it that those 3 accords. I love declaration for sure, but in the summer this one is a true contender to be chosen. It is a whole new take on the summer scent. Keeping the original DNA and still doing something new that is just amazing. For once not a summer scent that is super citrusy or synthetic green, but does what it is good at in a simple and effective manner. The bottle is really nice, and the sprayer is really powerful. The lock can sometimes be a hurdle more than a help. I would say that it is easy to wear - even by women and it does the job for the average crowd. Age wise I say that it's 15+. Longevity could be better if you are sweating a lot, but I get a good 4-5 hours of this fragrance. All in all a really good job done by the Cartier team. Overall Rating 7/10 /x/

Really fresh and fit for summer. The opening jumps at you with fresh squeezed lemon (not an artificial lemon either, this smells really fresh and nice) tempered by some pink pepper and soft woods (cedar and sandalwood) It's fresh, clean, fit for summer or casual wear. Declaration DNA is in here, but it's really subdued.....if the original Declaration was too much of an adventure through the backstreets of India for you, you may like L'eau much better.... This is too fresh of a scent for me as I generally don't like fresh/clean scents....but I could see this being a fan favorite especially for people living in warm climates.

The grapefruit is first and foremost in the opening, big and juicy with just the right amount of bitterness to make it interesting and slightly masculine. Very nice. It softens down to a green grassy almost piney scent. Not harsh, almost like the sweet evergreen aura a Christmas tree gives off, but the citrus never leaves the scene. Same impression Versace L'eau Fraiche gives off but a little less woody than that one. Light, fresh, clean and very Cartier. Longevity is more than good for this type of scent. This one comes highly recommended especially for the summer months. Thumbs way up.

A more watery and fresher version of the classic Declaration but with a more pronounced grapefruit and cedar accord. There is no cumin (sweat) or caraway in here and the overall structure is light and citric. To me it honestly doesn't smell particularly interesting and because of its discontinuation I surely wouldn't pay any outrageous prices for it. If you're a fan of the original and want something fresher for the summer months it could be worth your time but otherwise there's nothing to see here. Performance is abysmal on my skin. An okay freshie, nothing more nothing less. 5/10

This has to be one of the best fruity/woody richest scents I ever smelled. This stuff is blended powerful with the projection. This doesn't get much recognition at designer department stores because of the untrained noses, but once I am in the galleria in Houston, nothing but compliments. I have Creed Aventus also, similar in the direction it was going. I am not saying its the same scent to clarify. This Cartier is an Absolute stunner for me. I bought a bottle based on the performance and reactions I received on my skin. Try it or buy it.
