La Panthère Parfum

I have always wanted to enjoy the Panthère range more than I do but the musk notes always stopped me buying a full bottle. However, the warm weather is here and I realised I needed something more versatile for the summer (I struggle with warm weather scents) so I toured the perfume counters with an open mind. Panthère parfum is quite different from its other iterations - the gardenia mossy centre is there but not the strong musk and there is an additional apricot and osmanthus note which is really juicy and enjoyable. I happen to love the fruit tea note from osmanthus as it adds joy and sweetness without compromising on refinement. Many of the reviews here point out that this is a chypre and situate Panthère in a different realm from the sweeter, fruitier perfumes that are popular. I think this is a bit misleading as Panthère parfum is certainly a 'modern chypre': it does have a mossy note and a sense of top, middle and bottom, but it is nowhere close to the more traditional chypres which I personally find too austere. The apricot and osmanthus is strongly fruited and shares a good dose of what many reviewers here seem to disdain in lots of modern fragrances, although it is far less sweet than La vie est belle. It sits in the middle - and if you have enjoyed Armani's Sì range, Bottega Veneta or Coco Mlle, this a small step in the direction of a more pronounced chypre. The overall effect of the fragrance is of stoned fruits steeped in a sweet yet herbal stew, with an abstract floral centre and a mossy, woody drydown but keeping the fruit notes in the background. Stewed fruits should be sweet because the flavour is concentrated, not because you have added a tonne of sugar, and that is the vibe here. I was always a big Lutens fan and I get echoes of that here (especially the apricot/osmanthus of Daim Blond). Despite the fruit, this has the vibe of someone who drinks espresso in the morning, glass of red wine in the evening, knows who they are and what they want. There is a concentrated boldness, despite the fruited sweetness. I loved it so much I bought it in the store there and then which is totally unheard of for me (I like to ruminate, look up reviews for several months etc. etc.) My quibble is that I'd like better longevity for something called 'parfum' but it is priced as an EDP so I'm taking the label as an easier way to launch a flanker and I am very glad this exists. Update: after wearing for 2 days I can say that the longevity is better that I thought - I wake up smelling this after I thinking it had disappeared the evening before. It seems to be one of those ghost scents that you think has gone but then wafts reappear and haunt you. Still, compared to my paper strips, the lasting power of the original EDP is better. UPDATE 2: One month on and I have worn nothing else since I bought this. I used to be someone who would spray different perfumes on all four limbs, who would wear 1 in the morning, 1 after work and another before bed. But La panthère parfum has changed me - could this be the end to a decade's search for a signature?

I feel like I'm going crazy. First of all, I got this sample as a bonus with a full size of something else I bought on Mercari, and I threw away the paper sleeve, so it took me a while to even be sure I had picked the correct la panthere to review. Meanwhile, the other reviews here talk about notes and draw approximations that are so different from my experience of La Panthere, I think my nose must have stopped working. Maybe this isn't the spirit of fragrantica, but I scrolled through the reviews looking for *someone* to confirm my experience and state what I'm convinced is so obvious- La Panthere smells like dove soap. Not entirely. At the open and for about half an hour, it is a funky, sexy, dirty bellybutton musk that reminds me of the open to idole lubin (which has ZERO notes in common with la panthere, I checked). That tapers off, but never completely disappears, just provides a backbone for this clean, soapy, milky, literally exactly like dove soap smell. Normally I'd just shrug and move on, but the thing is, I love this frag. It smells so nice to me and just won't quit. I've decided I'm getting a full bottle, but fear that a.) the sample I have is somehow corrupted, and a full bottle won't smell as good too me or b.) I have olfactory fatigue or something, and this Parfum smells completely different to meet than it does to anybody else. Tl;Dr smells like dove soap and musky resin 10/10 fb worthy. ETA it's been months and I bought myself a travel size. I was not disappointed- it was the same juice as the sample. Still smells like dove soap. Life's too short to have a signature scent, but I wear this one at least once a week.

More than a full review, this is about the difference within the new bottles for the entire La Panthere line (since around November 2024 or so?). I've tested the new bottle of this one (the parfum) side by side with both a tester in the previous bottle from the store , and also my own bottle which is also the previous design , several times. For reference, the previous bottle is the one shown in the image here, and the newer bottles look like a cartoonish version of it, with the design(cutouts?) on the outside. And I'm not liking the new bottle design AT ALL ! But, oh well.... Anyway, I am picking up on some differences, but I'm happy to report that at least IMO this hasn't been butchered but instead improved. The overall scent is basically the same, except the frag in the new bottles is fruitier and also the fruitiness and the moss are more present throughout the whole wear. Whereas in the old bottles they die down a bit as it becomes powdery. Still present but to a lesser degree than in the new bottles. Also, longevity has been improved! I must say that although I'm happy to have the previous version for the beautiful bottle, I'm actually liking the frag in the new bottles better. And despite me not liking the new bottle design, I did end up buying the new one too lol. And if anyone cares, the older design bottles are still available in many stores, most seem to have both available right now. If you prefer the older ones, get them while you still can! But I do recommend you give the frag in the new bottles a chance. 😉

I blind bought this based off reviews and memories of trying this on in the 90s (the original) as a teen (along with Must de Cartier and Baiser du Dragon) they suited my skin and I clearly had aspirations 🤣 as I also hankered after my mothers Mitsuoko. However they were too mature for me then. I’m impressed, after nervously waiting out the initial application. Fruity, earthy and woody...musks appeared and woods. Thankfully the almost “melon” note (honestly I dread that and that awful generic marine note in anything) didn’t quite appear - was touch and go for a moment. Then creamy ambery,woody touches with spice and a little soil round it out. Nice! I’m looking forward to wearing this with wool, denim and leather this winter. Winter update: this is stunning. Settling post shipping and cooler temps. This has become a deep love. It’s musky, leathery (suede), no animalics (meaning stinky stuff) to my nose. White florals bolster the osmanthus/apricots. Adding a creamy and slightly soapy thickness. Clean musk and woods plus the oak moss that give it base and depth. I have a backup bottle. Will obtain more because it’s worth it. This surrounds you in a soft cashmere bubble and gets appreciative compliments from people in your vicinity.

Oh my goodness. Ok. Now I do know this scent, and of course I smelled it probably - in the main bathroom of a posh rich woman who lived on top of the mountain, overlooking the pacific ocean. So yes, this is a refined and complex scent, with layers and dimensions. I blind bought this and I was worried. I had read the reviews! And I understand why some people aren't into this. I was worried too. I was worried it would have a note that brought me bad memories or disgusted me somehow. Thank goodness it doesn't put me in a foul mood. It lifts me up to clean sleek places where there are octagons and complex dealings and mysteries - the mysteries of life that aren't easily solved. (So it brings me to West Vancouver) But back to the perfume itself. This is a perfume that changes. At first there is warm resinous fruit, then we get a gorgeous musky (not like I've smelled before and I'm looking at you N. Rodriguez so NOT that). It's velvety and sleek and grown. I love it. Is it trending? Caramel? Oud? Rose? Cherry? NO. It's like a gorgeous Cartier ring. It's like a tailored skirt and crisp white blouse. It's got taste and it's classic. It's not loud. It's strong and it's present. Dry down is heavenly - and that's what you pay for.

What a woman is this! This is evening fragrance for an Woman, one that would be suitable for family dinners, theater, or for dating in a fancy restaurant. Panther is not a lion, it is not roar in presence, brutal or attention-seeking. Panther rather warns if you have come too close. "You're in my territory, did I give permission? I have nails and I can use them too.." This is not the scent of an older woman, this is the scent of an adult woman! The scent for high heels. Gardenia here is modern, wrapping beautifully in apricot sweetness and oakmass here is just like earthy jam! The aroma of apricot, just little bit, reminiscent of sweet cherries to me. The performance is understated, radiant, elegant and the scent dies beautifully ( to mossy makeup scent). Longevity about 6+ hours on my dry skin, but in clothes I can smell this days! This is the scent that lingers in the room, so be careful if your lovers use this... At my own collection this most reminiscent of Estee Lauder’s Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss. The scent is not the same, but gives the same vintage style vibe, very chic and modern, if that makes any sense at all. I just adore this Cartier.

yeah I guess it s just not for young lady’s who lol love sweetie sweet flowery fruity scents like je know LVeB and sorts.. but: I do not get these bad reviews because it s such a well made chypre - a classy gardenia osmanthus centred flower power bank! I loved it at second sniffs because it s quite changing on my skin from a fruity apricot spritz to a heavy heady flower woody sort of perfume- you could really thin there s oak moss in it but of course that could not be it -not allowed anymore...it a synthetic kind of moss but it smells really like the great old ones with the real thing in it.. Fir me the base is the best with the patchouli nite becoming more prominent and the mossy note stays quite long even so the gardenia note does! The apricot is gone in the base which for me is a good thing!:) I love the overall classy feeling of the scent ! Ok I m sort of an older girl than at 53 but no problem here - fine for everyone and every age and era there’s a scent he or she can identify themselves! Great stuff - for me truly the best panthere besides the panthere absolu! Try it you older young ones! :)

@plsgivememoney, the EDP is earthiest of the three with an emphasis on strawberry and a slightly animalic gardenia; it weakens over time not having much of a persistent base. It’s musky as well. EDT is fresher and greener: more fleeting and focuses more on the floral aspects. The parfum on the other hand is niche in glory and grace contoured. Fruity, winey and milky with the earty aspects toned down. Parfum is feminine too as compared to the lesser iterations which can be slighlty considered unisex. To add to that, the Edition Soir if you have a chance is the most animalic, think 80s with a bombastic sillage. Sweeter as well. I also agree with the review below mentioning its affinity with the bewitching chypres of the days gone by. How I wish this one had civet. By the way the strawberry, while not mentioned, is still present here. To all those who caused the parfum’s rating to below 4.5, just go back to your sugary musings.

The original Panthère was so astoundingly good and unique, and came at such a great few years for mainstream perfumes (Twilly and the sorely missed original Narciso), that I shuddered at the thought of the inevitable and (in my mind) inevitably inferior flankers. Eppur si muove. La Panthère Parfum, at least, is beautiful, and a refreshing change of pace compared to most things these days. It has grand classical bones like the original, with that unmistakably french whiff of Femme de Rochas and similar dense fruity chypres roaming in the background. Unlike the original, the Parfum forsakes the weird, vivid plasticine white floral for a heady, natural, salty rose bouquet. Not to fear, the spot-on apricot is still front and center (Mathilde Laurent's photorealism remains unparalleled), and that fruity brightness keeps the dark drydown firmly settled at dusk. A handsome, mature perfume, fit for a modern day Katharine Hepburn.

This is finally the flagship that is worthy of the Cartier name. La Panthere Parfum finally takes its regal place and stature. Its a modern classic, mature but not old, echoes heritage of the past but fully modern. Stately. It opens with a beautiful osmanthus apricot suede leather next to the oakmoss chypre accord with patchouli providing the earthiness. A gardenia begins to bloom and a mixture of musks support it to give it some depth. Sillage is close to the body and intimate as parfums typically behave. This is understated yet confident. If your mature, tired of the banal sweet scents flooding the market, wanting a confident, womanly, unique perfume that purrs with earthy softness...this is for you. Vintage lovers, check this one out. The past pink Pantheres left me cold. This one retains its golden hue of 24kt gold. Welcome back Cartier. 50ml parfum in the deco panther bottle reviewed.

Don’t let the cat intimidate you, I cherished it some, it doesn't scratch you irreparably, but casts spells untiringly. A girl in love with ethereal perfumes tells you this. Many of my jewels have moderate sillage, the same longevity of a footprint on the sand, while the tide is rising. La Panthère Parfum is ardent embers, is involving and charming. Misteryously attractive. Hypnotic, boldly drier than Edt, the one I own. This piece of jewelry brings a touch of glam rock. The scent trail is endlessly sensuous. Fruit is so carefully dosed that frames this bouquet, apricots are evenly blended and rich in taste. So much that hints of exotic and sun heated fruits seems coming from a wicker basket, sultry, woody somehow. But overall moss plays it all, it's almost the only one in the game, an earthy game, that shows a lot of class, in a beautiful perfume.

How incredibly opulent, she comes from old money... She's wearing a black Italian wool coat custom made just for her with a Hermés red, white, and gold silk scarf. She was brought up surrounded by only the best of the best, attended boarding school in Paris, had a personal driver and two nannies with a staff of 20 awaiting her every need. Now in her late 50's she returns to Manhattan during the early 2000's and it's autumn, she steps out of her brownstone to enjoy the crisp air as she makes her way to Eleven Madison Park to meet her old boarding school friends to exchange gossip about their husbands and whatnot whilst clutching their pearls and sipping their martinis... This is everything that Lee Radziwill was in a bottle...

This is stunning and nothing at all like the EDP which I found rather generic and feminine. This is a grown ass woman - or man as I feel this is totally unisex. I get apricots on a bed of moss, lots of beautiful moss, but it's very well blended and I'm having a hard time picking out the other notes that lend the fullness of this fragrance. There is a waxiness to the opening which I love. I wonder if there is some confusion as to all of the iterations of La Panthere and I almost wish this would have been named as a totally new fragrance but then I wouldn't have gotten the gorgeous panther bottle which is, admittedly, another huge draw. All in all this a beautifully well done chypre and worth a test if that is your jam.

Wow! This is love at first sniff for me! If being wealthy had a smell. This is what I imagine a woman like Jackie Kennedy would wear. Elegant and classy. She doesn’t fall for trends, she sets trends. She doesn’t wear designer logos and yet you know anything that touches her body is top notch exclusive quality. The notes that are prominent to me is beautiful rose, leather, oak moss and musk. The slight fruitiness kinda stays in the background. Rose and leather are two of my favorite notes so I was immediately intrigued. To me this is signature scent worthy as it exudes power, confidence and wealth even whether you are wearing jeans or a tailored business suit. It’s a LOVE for me.

I use to have the Soir version.....but sold it....as I thought it was "meh". I did the same with the original Pasha for men.....and Declaration for men. Now...these "parfum" versions from Cartier are emerging....and WOW....I got both Pasha Parfum and Declaration Parfum and was blown away by them both !!....Masterpieces...IMO. So...I decided to do the same with this Panthere Parfum....and..WOW...again...yes....I adore this Parfum version !!! Smooth creamy apricot/osmanthus......mossy....modern chypre....musk/light gardenia/patchouli. A great blend ! I am so hoping for a Santos Parfum to come out.....and even a Must de Cartier Parfum.....then I would be in OMG heaven...LOL.

Creamy chypre + ripe apricots = super classy! Smelled this and immediately thought my mom would love it. It has those 80s animalic/chypre notes to it that make it smell so recognizable. Take those iconic historic perfumes, make them smoother with some apricot notes, and you have this!! Really good 2020 release, im glad to see some brand are making new perfumes that have those vintage vibes. It’s vintage smelling but still appealing to modern noses, I think. Still has popular fruity notes with a velvety civet-like moss. My mom was heartbroken when she heard Magie noire was discontinued, so I’m hoping this will be a sufficient substitute.

Received this as an un-requested gift from my husband for Christmas and oh my it is gorgeous!! I didn’t think I would like it, I thought it might be too sweet and cloying like Lancome Idole but if anything it is a more sophisticated version of LVEB but without that sour note that is some prominent in the LVEB dry down. All the notes are so distinct, the apricot and the osmanthus are perfectly blended and compliment the other notes beautifully. It has an old school dry down but does not smell like an old lady. It has so much depth the longevity and sillage are amazing. I can see this becoming a classic because it is total perfection

So very sophisticated!! I got it sprayed on a paper at the airport. Loved the initial apricot scent and then I put it in my pocket and completely forgot about it. The whole ✈️ I would get a whiffs of it, at some point looking at the people around me wondering who smells so exquisite.!!! Until I found that tester later in the evening in my pocket. Now a month and a half later tucked away in my diary... the scent is still there.Later I bought eau de perfume version but it's different, it's not an apricot in the beginning, although the dry down is the same. Anyway, it's a worthy signature and I absolutely love it.

If you like Knowing Estée Lauder, Aromatics Elixir Clinique, Paloma Picasso , La Perla La Perla then this one is definately down your alley . To me it's not for mature women. It's for ultimate WOMAN. It's sofisticated, timeless and if class and luxury have smell - this is it. I don't think that La Panthère Parfum is being suitable mostly for older women or even adult women. The age is irrelevant - if you enjoy classic Chypre you have to have it or at least try it. PS: My love for Chypre fragrances can be traced back to 1988 when I was fell in love whit Masumi Coty. I was 6 YO. Not exactly mature, yes?

This is such a beautifully blended perfume. You can smell all the individual components separately and together, and it’s magical. It can suit a chic young woman or an accomplished mature lady. It is not a casual scent, as it is bold and vocal. I never thought I liked apricots and moss together until I found this. Despite being designer, this is truly a unique scent. I prefer this over all the other flankers. This is my favourite Cartier and one of the classiest perfumes I’ve ever come across. I have no issues with performance. My batch is from 2020 and it lasts and projects like a parfum.

This is a proper perfume, in a way classical chypre scents in the 80's have been composed. Who wants to smell like a muffin with raspberries and vanila cream, sprinkled with chocolate chips and similar, will hate this. People that dislike idea of a body that smells like a bakery and food, will like it. P.S. Also, I feel that the trend of chemical fabric softeners and candles sickly sweet-smelling out of bakery perfumes is over, those will be in a very near future associated as vintage and granny perfumes, it will be like, oh, raspberry, my mother signature.

This is one of my favorites. It works very well with my body chemistry. It smells sophisticated and sexy. I think of a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. I think of red lipstick and high heels. I wear this frequently but not if I go into the office. It does not feel work appropriate to me. Too sexy. Too deep. It's fine for everywhere else though. The projection is not that strong, so you don't have to worry about overwhelming people on elevators or in lines. Within arm's reach, it is noticeable but not overwhelming.

i favor the elixir most in the line, though this is just as perfect . this is solidly chypre in its wearing, a much more shy gardenia this time, hiding behind a great wall of osmanthus and moss . fruity but not traditionally sweet, theres a veil of darkness from patchouli and musk that ensures this will not be seen with you in the light of day . decidedly for sunset to morning, not for the heat, not gentle, very oily & bewitching . i dont like the 80s but i love it here . “shes a maniac maaaniac on the floor”

Apricot and Oakmoss are the most dominant notes, very well supported by creamy osmanthus, slightly bright gardenia and a whiff of patchouli. She’s loud, but not obnoxiously so. Though this has a tendency to smell different on everyone, depending on which notes get amplified on your skin, it’s either the Oakmoss or patchouli that carries it in the base, from my experience. Sadly, my partner strongly disliked this fragrance, so I’m getting rid of mine, but I’ll cherish the tester for life.

Excellent perfume that’s almost the same as the “regular” eau de parfum, but a lot more potent. Unfortunately I wasn’t paying close attention when I bought my bottle and so I bought the eau de parfum instead of this one that’s labeled “parfum”. A mistake that is very easy to make. I’ll further review the eau de parfum later, just know that this is the one you want to buy if you want some longevity (still not spectacular, but a lot better)

I think I just met my first ever love at first sniff. EVER! Definately 80's vibe. Pure sophistication in a luxurious bottle. My nose isn't that well trained so I leave the ingredients to the others. You don't know you'll miss it, untill you have this gem in your possession. My new signature scent is here to stay! It's calming, soothing and takes me back to the mid 80's some how....

I’m really enjoying this and prefer it over the EDP. It reminds me of an adult version of a peach candy or gummy. Mature in a good way, with just the right amount of sweetness. Feminine and elegant. It’s beautiful, and feels more dense than the original, with better longevity. There is a musky, earthy quality too, so I wouldn’t recommend blind buying this.

Wooow, it is very pleasant one, I like it better than the original. The Edp is more serious, grown up and very elegant and Parfum is more playful, casual, youthful. I have both but my favourite is this Parfum. Excellent osmanthus with a soft patchouli and moss...somehow it has a fruity feelings. Sunny, brigt, so goood!!!

I've been trying to find that bottle for a very long time, but it seems like it disappeared. And this is where I think most people get confused about the scent. Almost everywhere there's the square bottle but not the silhouetted one with the black band. And they are different.

This is warm and intense yet it has a sparkly bubbly factor that makes it suitable for the summer but in well air - conditioned environments. She is bossy yet not rude , but rather in an attractive elegant way , a panther just like the bottle.

This fragrance holds a special sentimental value to me because it used to be my grandma's signature perfume and we used to go on lunch dates every sunday and this fragrance completely transportes me to those good old days whenever I apply it.

I lasts FOREVER. I sprayed on my neck and my hair picked up the scent and I could feel it for days literally. Very beautiful and mature fragrance. Elegantly crafted, with amazing longevity. Very mature and sophisticated scent.

gorgeous, classy, soft. amazing gorgeous floral dry down with a greenness. I've spent the last 10 minutes smelling the paper I sprayed it onto, I think I'd fall in love with any woman who wore this.

Fruity with oak moss giving a furry vibe. I am not a fan of chypres, but this one is delightfully feminine. Love this format since I am unfortunately anosmic to the EDP in its drydown.

So I smelled this and was amazed. I am a male and I think this is unisex and going to wear this. I paid full price and ladies or whoever wears this you smell amazing!

Ooo this is what wi talk about fragrance strong long-lasting feminine cypress!!!! Super feminine and for any occasion 10/10

I love Mathilde Laurent's creations - in my opinion, she is one of the best perfumers working today. I picked up La Panthère Parfum in a department store instead of the EDP, and from what I can remember of the EDP, it is quite different - lighter and fruitier. This parfum is potentially polarising - bold, unusual and unapologetic, a little like an updated 1980s chypre. LPP opens with a bold apricot note, bolstered by waxy white florals. The apricot is nuanced, initially sweet and juicy, then becoming softer and almost woody thanks to the osmanthus note. I don't get gardenia per say, but the white floral accord is lush and polleny, a little like jasmine. The chypre base emerges early on, lasting a long time while the top notes fade, resulting in a delicious apricot chypre, rounded out by the opulent white florals. It is mossy and woody, dense but not dark - grounding the fruity floral notes to perfection. The patchouli is used to perfection here, creating the modern chypre. A whisper of musk creeps in as it fades to a mossy skin scent, still with a hint of apricot until the final fade. With moderate sillage and longevity, LPP behaves more like an EDP despite the name. It reminds me of So Pretty, an earlier Cartier scent, except with apricot instead of blackberry. Opulent, extroverted and glamorous, yet daytime appropriate, LPP looks to the future while acknowledging the past. To be worn with confidence. Really good stuff. 4/5.

14. September 2020 I think im in love with this edition of La Panthere. I really like the very vintage Panthere but for its namesake i didnt care at all until i have tried this version (i havent tried the extrait version though from few years ago, so i cannot compare Parfum and extrait, but i can compare all the rest versions). This one actually has two faces: upon application it turns into a very yummy apricot jam with undertones of gardeina and osmanthus, yet you can clearly smell chypre base in it. The longer you wear it, the jammier it becomes, syrupy sweet apricot jsm... yummy... at certain point it indeed reminded me of re-release of Yvresse minus the strong violet note, but yet not exsctly the same. Quite the same vibe but still better. What i really enjoy is a drydown: it becomes like an old-school chypre. What i get on my skin after many hours of wear test and next morning is a classy vetyver jam, if there is such a thing! It literally smells like something from 80's chypre wise. So delicious and very enjoyable. Very autumn like. I can certainly recommend it for its sillage and lasting perfomance yet also for a beautiful composition. Good job Cartier, well done!

Upon first spritz, I was scared of what I might be in for — oh great, a bowl of rotten fruit had a baby with patchouli! It was a little sickening, to be honest. Not 5 minutes later, though, it settled into a jubilant apricot-led parade of florals, patchouli, and moss. I, unfortunately, have not had much experience with the chypre genre (something I want to rectify, and fast — I’ve really liked all the ones I have tried) but I am astounded with the quality of this perfume. It’s long-lasting, moderate sillage, with a vintage vibe that adds an air of class and sophistication. Old money, as another reviewer said below. La Panthere gives me hope for modern perfumery, that the current cycle of over-sweet, vapid concoctions will be broken and the beauty of earthy, mossy fragrances will be reignited once more.

It's a sophisticated beauty in my view. It radiates charm and classiness. Old world charm and also for a mature nose in my view. The anise and fruit create a beautiful opening. It's sexy but never loud. I love how it mellows almost immediately transforms when the leather and oakmoss/patchouli show themselves. A woman with discerning tastes would enjoy this as her signature scent. Some have mentioned it could be considered unisex, but it doesn't have the lasting power or the strength for that. It also doesn't project tremendously either. It's a beautiful soft, sexy little secret close to the skin. 8/10

La Panthere Parfum is not what I expected. Why was I expecting an eighties bomb? Something vintage feeling? ...I dont know. Maybe because of the name, but it is not a Panther. it is a kitten. I wear this to bed, and it makes me feel cozy. It is a soft apricot powder....with a touch of elegance. I can really overspray without worry. I have not tried anything else in the la Panthere range, so I don't know how it compares to the others. I feel this is a very modern perfume without any vintage vibes. I have been wearing it for a week in the middle of winter, and it suits the temperature.... snow kitten!

Apricot tea. The opening is quite strange, like a snuffed out candle. There is a clear, not overly sweet, apricot note. The background is dark and quite astringent (the moss). As the scent proceeds there is also some floral note joining in. Not a young girl's fragrance, this is a quite "strict" fragrance, definitely with a reference to more vintage styles. The "Parfum" in the name does not reflect on the actual concentration! This is a fragrance with modest sillage and sadly weak lasting power, about 6h. The bottle has an interesting design and it is also has a nice and ergonomic grip.

I am always scared whenever people describe a fragrance as a ‘classy’ perfume, it sounds like a boring and granny-like, heavy perfume. But Cartier Panthere is definitely one of that classy perfume without being boring or outdated. A proper cypher scent, a beautiful blend of osmanthus with apricot and mossy notes. It screams luxury, it screams elegance. The DNA is not something you find often nowadays, especially among young women. I think a young person can pull this off, it won’t make you appear older, it’ll give you a respectable aura. Beautiful

Wow! This perfume is a LOT. It's warm, sensual, in-your-face, and overtly sexy; it is loud and unmistakable. It smells remarkably like incense to me– it's got that same deep, aromatic, resinous quality to it, and gives a similar mental image of breathing in deeply and finding your headspace altered. It also smells... a little freaky, almost. It's animalistic and organic in a way I feel like should be off-putting, but somehow isn't. Definitely would wear this out on the town if I were really looking to go home with someone.

Oh la! This fragrance takes me back to the time I was a little girl and propped my little body up on a stool to get to my mother’s vanity and tinker with her fragrances and makeup. It has all the delightful old school oakmoss you could desire, without being dated. But it’s quite linear. After a while, smelling oakmoss alone doesn’t quite sate one’s appetite for mystery and fragrance development.

Chypre is back! This is a new version of an 80,s style perfume without the giant shoulder pads. This is warm,elegant,iinoffensive and excludes understated class. Only those who don't want to be recognised will understand meaning of this beautiful scent. It will never be the most popular to the point of saturation,this is a class act. Beautiful.
