Les Heures de Cartier: L'Heure Diaphane VIII

There is something about this perfume that I absolutely love. I have never been a fan of rose notes and this one is very soft, high quality, not-in-your-face rose mixed with litchi that I love. I first tried it in fall and wore it in winter as well so to me it is the scent that makes you cozy on a cold or rainy day. Longevity and sillage are moderate at best but I kept coming back to it and sniffing it on my skin and sweaters, I loved it so much. I am considering buying a full bottle because I need this comfy smell in my life. As with any perfume I suggest you try it on your skin first. Fragrances are unique creatures, they don’t smell the same on different people.

This fragrance is summers and cream. Diaphane translates to “transparent”. If the color of a very soft yellow 🌼 - was to be a fragrance then this is what it would be! -light floral, milky, A smidgen sweet. I do not pick up any rose fragrance in this, even though the description says the notes are rose! My interpretation of this fragrance is watery, floral, the faintest bit of cream or baby oil smell- in a good way- it’s a comforting smell. Overall- I love this fragrance! This Les Hueres fragrance collection is numbered to represent Roman Numerals on a clock. Reminds me of the classic Cartier watch numerals- makes sense, right. Diaphane is number VIII

its not easy to give a fragrance a rate of 10/10, i would do that with this one, for a long time a don't a find a unique mixture as i found it in this one, even if its seems to you its a regular note to use in any perfume but believe me, the way of submission is different here. BY THE WAY L`Heure Diaphane VIII the best one in its group of Les Heures de Cartier so my advice that don't bother with other numbers choice VIII (8) if you have a chance. Rate 10/10

I have to agree with Blessed as this is perhaps one - if not THE- most exquisite fragrances I have ever smelt! Worn both in the rainy London weather and humid Gulf, it stands above any other floral fragrance and adapts perfectly. I have had people chasing me down the street to find out what I am wearing! What one would call a "true masterpiece" and by far the best in the collection.

The notes on this fragrance leave me scratching my head. I don't pick up any of them. To my nose, this smells like soap. Super bubbly fluffy soap. I guess I'm glad I don't pick up these notes because I don't usually like them!!

L'Heure Diaphane VIII is my third and final miniature from my « Les Heures » coffret. It is my least favourite of the three - not bad, but mediocre - not of the quality expected from a haute parfumerie line, as Toffychate below has already said. It is a very light aquatic rose scent that is more peony than rose. VIII opens with light fruity notes, more watery than sweet. This is where the lychee briefly takes centre stage. Pleasant, aquatic and fresh, it is subtle and fleeting, giving way to peony - light, fresh and green. Some rose emerges as it develops, richer than the peony note but still fairly light and green. The peony-rose accord just about manages to not be thin and screechy, something I find occurs fairly frequently with green rose scents. VIII fades to a slightly musky, barely-there rose skin scent after an hour or two. Sillage is intimate and longevity leaves a lot to be desired. Feminine-leaning, but fresh and subtle enough to be worn by some men. A linear, fresh green peony scent, VIII is nice, but is too cold-hearted to love. Insipid and overpriced for what it is. 2.5/5.

super juicy, watery and fruity flowers; the peony and rose smell gorgeously realistic, like the whole flowers, stems and all. it really just smells like a bright pink bouquet - refreshing, sweet and pretty. it isn't particularly complex or really a fragrance that fits 'me' - especially for the price, it is definitely on the simpler side. pretty all the same. 7/10

Pretty peony + a vague fruity note. Light, airy, ethereal. Luxurious, elegant yet simultaneously ordinary. Weird! In wafts an anti-social rose reluctant to interact w/ peony. She displays a socially acceptable smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes as if to say, “Nice to meet you. If I must.” Not sure why I love this scent, but I do. It’s strangely exquisite.

For some reason Sand + Fog has named their perfume oil inspired by this fragrance “Vanilla Woods.” I don’t get vanilla or woods from theirs. I do get lychee or lemon. Something fruity. I can’t detect peony or rose among the florals, but the overall blend is soft. Not much projection from the Sand + Fog. If that one were on Fragrantica I would review it, but since it’s supposed to be a dupe/clone, I’m leaving this opinion here. They should have called it Floral Lychee.

L`Heure Diaphane VIII is my least favorite of Les Heures de Cartier line. It opens with hardly any rose at all, it's all litchi and a little peony. As it dries down the rose appears more, but it's constantly battling against the litchi note. It's hard to find fault in anything Cartier makes as you can tell there is quality ingredients in this, it's just the composition is slightly screechy and somewhat metallic. This is a cold and aloof scent and maybe that is the intent, but the result is hard to warm up to. Maybe a mature woman on a cold winter morning could pull this off, but for the rest of us...I give a hard pass.

I bought a decant of this from a very reputable company, but I do not get the wonderful scent described by the ladies who reviewed this below me. It is possible that the fragrance turns easily, because I love the notes listed but there is a musty depth that is not suggested by the listed notes. Sadly, this fragrance smells like the flea shampoo we used on my dog when I was a kid. I wish I could smell the fragrance that the other reviews have and compare that with my decant. My advice would be to try before buying, and purchase smaller rather than larger decants if that is how you are trying this fragrance.

A soft floral fragrance, easy to wear, but without any distinguishing features. The notes blend together nicely, but it could be any soft floral fragrance - Fleur de Diva came to mind as being very similar; easily wearable, but nothing special.

This perfume smells like an electrical fire or burning plastic. I have no idea what's causing it. Am I the only one who feels this way?

کارتیه شماره 8 وقتی داشتم این عطر رو تست میکردم بخاطر نت پررنگ رز و اون حالت حالت مرطوب و خیسش احساس کردم تو هتل ریتز پاریس هستم و لم دادم تو وان پر از گلبرگ های رز در حالی که ی بطری شامپاین دستمه و از پنجره‌ حمام دارم نورپردازی برج ایفل رو میبینم و مدهوشم از بوی رز شماره 8 رو وقتی اسپری میکنید انگار سرتونو فرو کردید تو خروار ها گلبرگ رز تازه چیده معطر. فرش. مرطوب و قوی گل پیونی یا صدتومنی از نظر شباهت خیلی شبیه رز هست رایحه اش ولی بسیار ملایم‌تر کرمی تر مرطوب تر بوی عاشقانه ای داره گل پیونی نمیدونم بگم متاسفانه یا نه ولی لیچی با اون حالت قوی فروتی فضای کلی عطر رو به سمت زنانگی میبره انقد این حالت زنانگی قوی و شدید هست که هیچ مردی جرات نزدیک شدن به این عطر شماره 8 رو نداره فضای کلی عطر کاملا رز محوره بسیار شاداب و مرطوب که با حس فروتی از اول تا آخر همراهه جنس بوی رز تو این عطر اروپایی و شیک کار شده خیلی خیلی به واقعییت بوی رز نزدیکه کیفییت عالیه. پرفرومنس در شروع عالیه ولی بعد از دوساعت ملایم میشه و تا ساعتها روی پوست بوی رز با حسی کرمی و بالمی نقش آفرینی میکنه

As a true rose lover, this perfume is something that I don’t want to accept even as a gift. But my friend gave me as a gift when she came back from London a week ago. She knewn that I am a big fan of rose ( I had Une Rose FM, Eau Rose Diptique, La Colle Noire MCD ect..). This perfume does not smell bad by any means, however I do not think this is what Rose from Haute Parfumerie was supposed to smell like. I'm not really getting the roses. Only the smell of Peony and Litchi. Classy, but not what I was expecting at all. I still recommend to anyone who loves Peony and Litchi in their scents.

Litchi, rose, and peony: a perfect combination of notes I find most attractive on women! This is so French and lovely I wanna smell it forever. If Virgin Mary is perfumed, this would be it! Its simply divine, "Nothing more lovely than thee!"

I did the blind testing with an experienced perfume blogger. We did not find any rose, litchi or peony. We found metallic white musk, iris and a bit of citrus. We both also liked it as it smells very high quality. As ethereal super luxury

helium!.... I kind of smell helium in here with hints of peony & litchi.
