Almond Eau de Toilette

I picked this up during the summer July sale. This is very soft (but there) and lovely. It reminds me a lot of Jergen’s cherry orig lotion scent and I mean this as a compliment. It is very comforting. The notes listed are so perfectly blended that nothing screams over top of the other. What a unique and comforting perfume. There is nothing else like it in my collection. LOVE it. I do not get any play dough note at all. Definitely almond with that sweet cherry mixed in. Soft and sweet but not thickly sweet - the kind of sweet you would imagine if powdered sugar was sifted onto a cake versus dumped into a cake? Not “pink sugar” sweet. Not thick. Fluffy sweet. I did not expect to enjoy this, however, I find myself hoping they keep this in their line and never change the formula! (I notice there is another version of this scent that has slightly different notes and a different bottle.) This review is for the 2023 edition pictured above.

This scent is dreamy and lasts a long time on me, I still get whiffs of almond the next day. It’s an EDT so you do have to spray more. It’s straight up marzipan and smells almost exactly like the holiday soap by Lush called “Snowcake”...and I mean that as a compliment. I can’t be the only one who’s been looking for a perfume to replicate that soap...and I can tell you, this is IT. If it didn’t say it had salt I wouldn’t have noticed, but it is there very subtly and adds a slight airy freshness. Maybe this is a close to the skin scent if you only do one spray, but I sprayed 4-5 sprays and would say it’s decadent! It’s weird to me how it’s described as goumand, although I guess it is since it’s sweet, but it’s not SUGARY at all.

such a lovely scent for spring! i was surprised how clean/musky this was- i was expecting something a lot more sweet and gourmand, but it has such an airy and slightly nutty cozy quality. it's like your lover's skin on a bright spring day while you're having a picnic. there is a bit of sweetness from the amaretto-style almond note, and definitely a salinity that contrasts it, making it more unisex and rounded out by the soft tonka and sandalwood in the base. not the best longevity but it's so lovely that it honestly doesn't matter!

yummy yummy yummy. the salt top note tones down the cherry and almond so well. blends nicely with the sandalwood. such a well done simple fragrance, reminiscent of something jo malone should be making if they didn’t miss the mark so much. beautiful unisex perfume that fades too soon

a more gourmand cutesy and comforting scent. this almond scent is sweet but not in a cloying way. to me its smells clean and soapy and becomes creamy as it dries down. absolutely love it.

Decant from Lucky sent: This is the most comforting fragrance, it’s a skin scent on me, it’s the kind of thing that is meant to be discovered on someone, like if someone sat down next to someone. it’s very clean and reminds me of a warm almond croissant stuffed with slightly sweetened almond paste and roasted almond slices. I didn’t detect any cherry. As a man I think this is unisex. Something to wear on a lazy Sunday at a coffee shop or on a rainy day in with your significant other.

Ugh - I think I need to shell out for the large bottle. I ordered the .25 oz to test, and as expected it’s that almond cherry pink soap smell. And I love that scent. But why on earth is the scent of cheap soap so expensive in a perfume 🤣. Well, I know if they discontinue this - which I bet they will - I’ll spend the rest of my life searching for another version of it. I adore almond, and cherry. So, I’m going to order the 2 oz despite my better judgement 🤷🏻♀️

I was obsessed with “the fancy gas station soap” as a kid which turned out to be just cheap pink colored almond scented liquid soap. This definitely brings that to mind but more muted and less sweet. It’s a cutesy skin scent. More soap than sweet. Light and smooth like marzipan. Reminds me a little of nice sunscreen. It lives very close to the skin but it’s sticking around so I am impressed!

Kind of a no-brainer if one likes almond perfumes. It's marzipan-y goodness. The cherry facet isn't so prominent to me. It becomes slightly creamier as it wears, but doesn't smell like Jergen's lotion. Mostly linear. It's a nice comfort scent. I don't find it overly sweet and I generally dislike anything beyond a certain level of sweetness. It's just at my point of tolerance.

An intriguing fresh and soapy cherry almond scent. There is some industrial product that this is reminding me of that I can't think of, but is nearly identical to this. Maybe the pink hand soap in public bathrooms, or car wax? I overall think it's simple and pretty, and a safe semi-gourmand fragrance for warmer weather.

Soft almond with a bit of cherry. More marzipan than play doh. As a gourmand lover, I would find this to be irresistible on my partner.

Smells so good but literally lasted 5 minutes on my skin. I am so disappointed with the lasting power

It comes off like you just have delicious smelling skin. But you’re also bougie.

I love the scent, but jeez this is probably the worst Eau de Toilette I’ve ever tried. The scent disappears within 5 minutes if you rub your wrists together. If you don’t rub, I had very minimal scent about an hour later. But I had to have my nose pretty much ON my forearm to smell it. I wish they’d make it an Eau de Parfum. As it stands, I love the scent - truly - but I simply can’t justify the price for something that doesn’t even last as long as a cheap body mist. I spray it on my clothes and it fades similarly. A vague sweet smell behind the typical smell of detergent. A drunk girl who put her face on my arm did tell me I smelled like sunshine, warmth, and Sunday mornings, though.

Tested this on skin today in a shop. It's a really quiet and polite scent. A nice almond, the salt on top helps keep it light and spring/summer appropriate without being too sweet. My overall impression is that it smells like a nice bath product or cream, which makes sense for the company. It's a like, not a love for me but I think there are tons of people who will love it.

I love how it smells but I feel like it isn't as strong and doesn't last as long as I hoped it would for the price. My dad gave me the Caswell Massey almond soap bar a few years ago and I wanted this perfume for a long time before actually buying it, and I'm sad to say I'm a little disappointed in the strength and longevity of the scent. It's pretty though

This is going to age me... but the drydown smells like my little pony toys. There is subtle plastic-y almond smell.

Sort of a novelty gourmand amaretto almond. Simple.

The hype around this one piqued my curiosity, despite usually being predisposed to skepticism toward hyped anything. Short story shorter: I don’t know if I’ve ever been more disappointed when finally getting my nose on something. There was a vast abyss between my expectations and the reality. The idea was of a creamy almond-cherry skin scent. The result is a sweet generic air freshener or body splash. Cherries and coconut milk (more than almond), and with no nuance. Caswell Massey seems to be trying to break away from their “old fashioned” reputation. But that’s what this (and so many others of theirs I’ve smelled) could use — a harkening to classic perfumery. Something with body and character. Instead, we get top-note heavy, generic whatever. Gorgeous bottle though.

I really wanted to love this, I've watched countless blogs and videos of people raving and getting compliments. The longer it's on my skin the more it smells artificial with an almost women's bathroom soap smell to it. I can make out the notes but keep feeling like it needs something else to cut it like a vanilla or something sweeter.
