Sensational

A hidden gem! Lovely. Just Lovely. Out of all the perfume testers in my local chemists, this is the frag that I spray on the most. In this strange new trend of brands like Guess deciding that their target audience would like to smell like a watered down melon, or of celeb perfumes like Katy Perry's Killer Queen which are are all style but the scent itself is a cloying headache inducing nightmare, Sensational breathes new life into the moderately priced fragrance market. Just because its not Chanel doesn't mean a fume cant smell bloody amazing. I'm not saying that sensational is my favorite frag in the world, but it easily tops every other tester at the chemist (so far, GUESS, Royal Revolution, Killer Queen, Purr, Beyonce Wild Orchid) I admit to previously having a bit of a snobish additude towards EDTS. I thought why not just get a perfume, which should (theoretically in my head) last longer, be better quality, etc. It is frags that are only available in EDT's like this one and Vera Wang Princess, for example, that changed my mind. A good scent is a good scent, and Celine Dion's Sensational aside from knocking GUESS's signature EDT out of the ballpark in terms of staying power and and actually smelling like a perfume, actually smells so much better than any of Beyonce's "perfumes" I have tried to date. Fact. I can actually make out the juicy pear, harmoniously dancing with jasmine and freesia. I get a hint of apple, but not in that horrible over the top "shampooish" vibe some scents give off, just a hint of crisp tartness mixed with rose. Yum. This scent actually lives up to both its description and flancon, a rare thing in the industry. Sensation IS casual elegance in a bottle. I could see myself wearing this to a springtime garden party in a floaty white dress with twinkling fairy lights strung up, glass of bubbly in hand as I share laughter with friends. Its not as sophisticated as J'adore or Coco Mademoiselle, but it is more youthful and fun. Kind of like J'adores little sister, with a bubbling personality and a twinkle in her eye! While I have not purchased this yet simply due to financial reasons and I am building up my collection back up slowly after moving to London from the states, I am always happy to spray the tester at my local chemist, and really hope they don't replace it XD. I would love to receive it as a gift or as it is fairly low priced would not hesitate to purchase in future. 8 out of 10 for me! ^_^

Well, another nice surprize-scent. Longlasting and fresh. A bit fruitysweet but not overwhelming sweet thanx to Amber and Musk. This will be my new every-day-scent to office. And nice-price too.. A real bargin and a keeper. Tja, en till överrasknings-doft. Mycket hållbar på huden och fräsch. Lite fruktsöt men Amber o Musk drar ner det söta till lagom nivå. Detta kommer att bli nya jobb-doften på kontoret. Riktigt bra pris.. så ett kap och en doft jag kommer att behålla.

What a pretty fume! The deep ripe peaches and plums r just delicious! After the heart comes into play I smell a distinct jasmine,kissed by one of my favorites,orris root.The drydown is creamy sandlewood with a touch of white musk.The amber is liquidy and helps with this fumes projection.Lasts really well for a celebrity fume.Its very sweet and clean smelling.A really nice floral.I love the body lotion as well.

Funny-the first time I tried this I got something like a rose note:now I get mostly mimosa(mimose) and pear...it didn't strike me as a fruity floral at the time because it isn't a typical one.The two groups are blended so well that they don't overpower each other.It's just very soft and extremely smooth:blends into your skin nicely after a bit.I really do love this and don't care who made it:)

This is my favorite Celine Dion perfume-as usual goes on very strong but the main note I get is rose so I don't mind so much-stays pretty rosey while it hangs around but it need reapplying quite a bit.Why is it the stuff I hate lasts forever and the ones I like just go *poof*.Definitely a very feminine scent and I like that I don't get much fruit from it-I am SO over 'fruity-florals'.

This is a wonderful fresh, fruity floral with good sillage and longevity (about 5 or 6 hours). Very well balanced and feminine. So far I am 3 for 3 with the Celine Dion fragrances I have tried. The original Celine Dion, Spring in Paris, and Sensational are all very pleasant and tastefully done, in my opinion. Classy is the word that comes to mind.

I love this one is very fruity,fresh,clean,femenine,i get plum and apple at first then it become flowerly and the dry down is very good,very clean,the staying power is not too good it last like 2 hours on my skin. ;)

i like this one more than her other perfumes ( have only 4 ) so sweet and clean ,it has a much better staying pwoer , used it before 3hr and i can still smell it , the others ihave from hers last 2hr max.

Interesting-just tested Champs Elysees by Guerlain and it has a very similar rose/mimosa combo.Well now I like them both.:)

Fruity, little sweet diamond.Felt very "satisfied" while wearing this. Warm but not heavy.

I still consider this perfume to be a good option for young girls with a feminist spirit, it's a perfume suitable for an outfit with a simple blazer, pants and a shirt. I don't see a mature woman wearing a very matching suit, with don't know what jade brooch, wearing it. No, I see a twenty something ambitious young woman at the beginning of her career, dressed in a simple minimalist clean outfit, still slightly insecure about her, walking awkwardly, but with a certain type of charm on the steps of the junior feminist lodge in Vienna at her first oficial meeting. She has so many dreams, she dreams of one day reaching the top of the mountain, and she will certainly succeed, but until then she breathes deeply, calming her emotions before entering the building. It's a perfume with a lot of charm, one that really makes me melancholic, I used to feel it on my young interns back in 2008-2010, they were young and dreaming, and I proudly admired them, they are now mature, strong women at the top of Europe and in the forefront of European feminism, and I'm old and I look at them like a grandmother on the fence admiring how splendidly they grew up 🤧. As a perfume it is a fruity green with musk and some white flowers but not the indolic type just powdery. The apple with the leaves feels very good, then the iris and freesia comes from behind powdered, than the iris with its green root, that orris note and ends in a pleasant white musk. It is a cloudy fragrance, but thanks to the notes of iris and Lilly of the valley get some green notes of power, of courage, something refined and sober. And that clean musk finishes the composition in an equally sober classic line, but still with a youthful vibe. I'm not going to lie, I'd like to get my hands on another bottle, because I loved wearing it at night while I slept.

Sensational's first 60 seconds of life is announced with a vibrant 'just ripe' pear note, remarkably genuine. It later becomes more sugary and somewhat redolent of L'Instant EDT (Roucel), at least until the sugar fully takes hold. The sugary fruits hold on for about 20 minutes before seguing into a tender and green magnolia, still slightly dewy. This is the last realistic sensation we encounter before Sensational begins to smell very synthetic. Not in a bad way, but it does smell like the commercial fragrance used in expensive fabric softner. This is the apple adding a very fresh feel, the mimose lending a very mild soapy feel and some additional light white florals, especially jasmine. This is how I love my fresh laundry to smell after a wash so Sensational would be terrific sprayed onto your clothes to prolong that experience. I really quite enjoy this celebrity fragrance. It has a nice sillage however it only lasts about an hour before it fades into a weak and boring sandalwood trace on the skin.

I got this perfume in a small .5 oz bottle along with another of the same size, of the regular Celine Dion perfume. This one is the preferable one of the two, partially because I can actually discern an actual scent. The other is so faint, but I digress... both came in the same package for $2.50, so I couldn't justify passing it by. It is a sweet and delicate perfume that threatens to be profound but never quite reaches past the beginning stages. I don't hate the scent, but it leaves me cold. I might pass this on to a very young oversprayer to empty in a weekend because it won't overwhelm. It will somewhat resemble a sweet candle or oil burning. It is currently taking up space on my counter.

It opens very fruity and fresh. There's a noticeable sweetness from the pear, apple and plum. It's almost syrup-like, it's quite thick. They're well blended but I can pick out the pear and the apple when I try. Floral comes as it settles and it warms from the amber and sandalwood. The freesia is the most prominent floral for me, reminding me of Darling by Kylie Minogue. I don't get much musk. It's strong when you put it on but after a couple hours I really can't smell much. It's very nice but you'll want to bring the bottle in your purse to reapply during the day. I wouldn't reach for this for a night time fragrance. It's a good daytime, spring fragrance.

This is pretty well done, a very nice, clean & fresh fruity floral. I just sprayed some of this on my hand at the local drugstore, after which I continued my way to the cashier to buy myself some advil. She started sniffing in the air, frowning her eyebrows and then asked me: 'did you just spray some perfume on?' I told her I did and then she wanted to know what I sprayed on. She told me it smells very good on me and that she would test it on herself as well... Also the longevity seems to be just fine, sillage might not be all that, but it lingers around me softly and pleasantly.

On me the opening was a boxing contest between the pear and apple notes with the plum at the sidelines. A few minutes later the Veto deodorant smell takes over...must be the combination of freesia, jasmine and orris? It is at this point that I am taken back to my childhood...my mum had just had shower and she's opening the small jar of Veto, dipping her fingers and scooping out a small amount of cream. I agree with some of the reviews, Sensational smells clean! I like! It's a shame I couldn't detect each floral note separately in the heart. Will try again tomorrow.

wow this one smells definitely like a fabric softener! i used to use a fabric softener (Softlan-Aloe Fresh) that smells exactly like this frag but it has been discontinued long time ago. On me this frag smells fruity fresh at the very beginning and later develops into a clean floral smell (the fabric softener smell)and last until the end.I cant detect any of the base notes listed. well it's not bad for me cause i kinda like the smell. Anyone who wants to smell clean should try this. nothing offensive at all in IMO! Sillage is moderate & longevity up to 6 hours +

Just got a small bottle of this and its nice. I think it would be a nice scent for an evening out in the late spring. Its very floral but I am picking up on the fruit listed on here as well. I can see why there are reviewers talking about the Rose scent. It seems to kind of smell like a true rose scent with this blend but if you keep sniffing,the Pear and Apple do reveal themselves.You can buy it for a cheap enough price to check it out. For some reason I see myself wearing this on a rainy spring day or like I said previously,On a spring evening :)

I like this one a lot. It's true, the clean smell. It almost reminds me of children splashing in a bubble bath. I have a problem with certain perfumes not smelling so nice, like at Christmas or Thanksgiving when your around a lot of food smells all day long. This one tends to smell good even though I have a ham roasting this afternoon. I'll be wearing this for sure for the hollidays this year! I'm glad I took the time to test this. I don't get much of any kind of perfume, it's just plain clean and bubbly like a good bubbly bath.

I have an old 15 ml shimmer EDT that I received as a gift with two others. I like this one more than her namesake CD perfume. This is fresh, more fruity than floral and with less “nail polish remover” beginning. It is still abstract; you sense the accords moreso than the individual notes. Still nothing Sensational or iconic as Celine’s voice and talent. Also Coty seem to be using cheap sprayers as they aren’t spraying properly anymore.

A fruity floral that is not bad at all, just not particularly unique. It reminds me of a nice shampoo smell. I don't dislike it, it just bores me a bit. Fine for work, but I really want to layer another fragrance with it just to liven it up a bit.

I don't own this one, but I remember it was very fresh, light and crisp. If I could buy one today, I would. Love the bottle, too. Very classy. All her bottles look beautiful and elegant.

I have a bottle of this, but can't seem to spray it all the time like Celine's other perfumes, this one is just too much rose smell, and strong.

it's nice but I wouldn't wear it on me, I sprayed it all over my summer appartment (so nice, everyone asked about it).

The pear is very apparent I found this fruity floral and very feminine but not long lasting.

I like it because it smells a lot like American linden blossom (Tilia americana).

I am wearing this long-forgotten frag. in the early Spring and I find it lovely. Not much sillage or staying power: this is a stay at home fragrance that makes me feel clean and sweet. Reminds me of a scent i loved when i was a kid but cannot put my finger on it. I mostly love the fresh explosion of fruit and the way it becomes almost 'juicy' on my skin: like a dewy morning in a meadow. I find the name offkey but heck, me likes it well enough to finish the 100 ml bottle !

Not very interresting , a bit less boring than "Simply Chic" ,and is resembling like it quite well, so much that i thought someone had mixed the testing bottles on the shelf . Moreover like one reviewer said, it smells like shampoo , or a fabric softener , it smells clean and fresh but very generic .

The blind buy was a total surprise for me. I had never given a thought to trying a Celine Dion scent, but since I was already getting another (Killer Queen, Katy Perry), I figured I would just grab a random scent, totally not what I would usually go for. Since I'm not the biggest Celine fan, I figured this was pretty random enough to purchase! I gave myself a quick spray later that evening. At first, I thought it was pretty strong. I got a giant whiff of pear and freesia. I don't really care for pear, so I was already thinking of who I would pass this off to. But I waited a while to see what the dry down was like. And then it hit me... this smells very close to Radiance by Britney Spears! I found it odd that the two perfumes I got, smell nearly identical to scents I already have by Britney. I smelled them side by side and they are so close! I think that Radiance smells a bit "brighter" to me, while Scensational has a little more of a musk and amber element to it. The scent lasted until the next morning where at that point, it changed into a very light, just-showered, clean skin scent. I'm glad I snagged this!

So this is an interesting one for me personally... in the sense that I bought it from Kohls when I was in middle school... I think I was with my mom in the fragrance department and enjoyed the tester. Every time I wore it back then, it was when "I wanna smell like a grown-up" kinda situation. Looking back it was a basic celebrity perfume that ended up going bad in a year (which smelled so gross when it did...). If I were to catch a whiff of it now it'd definitely take me back to those younger years! Would never buy again except to smell it for nostalgia.

I'm not sure if my bottle has turned, because I'm not smelling a single one of the things listed on the note pyramid. It's hard for me to describe what I do smell, since there aren't any distinct notes. It's kind of cold, sharp, and fruity-floral.

I sprayed it on and said, "oh god, what have I done?" What is this reeking, sour watermelon rind, migraine-inducing mass of odor weighing upon me? Good luck trying to rinse this off.

I really wanted to like it but it has way too much jasmine for my taste. It gives me a headache when I wear it. But for those who like jasmine definitely a great fragrance.

Has a fruity opening. Turns into a clean and floral scent after a while. Unfortunately I smell something synthetic and it gives me migraines. Good lasting power.

This perfume is very soft and tender. Personally, I don't fancy light scents. So I wear it per day, but there is nothing really special about it.

A green floral, not really my type.. Starts off bright & crisp then fades fast, lasts about 2hrs on me.

This has a very sickening sweetness.... :((( Peach note is very prominent there.. gave me a headache

Why oh why do I keep torturing myself with CD perfumes? I keep thinking there's got to be a good one but time after time, pure dissappointment. This is a thin and shallow fruity floral with the ick powder part of Champs Elysee and the cheap fruit drek of Pure Brilliance. Actually very similar to Flirt Rock N Rebel...just horrid! I'm done...there are no hidden treasures in this line. I will forgive Mr Roucel as he obviously had a budget the size of a hotdog cart's daily earnings to work with and couldn't afford any quality ingredients. Please Celine, stop!!

I first tried this scent a few years ago, I believe it was 2008, walking through a Riteaid. I had just finished working and when I walked by the fragrance section, this was the only sample they had out, so I sprayed it, somewhat mindlessly, and went about my shopping. After I got home I could not believe how great this stuff smelled on me! My roommate even noticed how good I smelled and asked what is was. I was like " if you can believe it, it's Celine Dion! We were both so surprised bc we really hadn't heard anything about her perfumes, or that they were any good. It was Oct at the time, so for me, Sensational is my fall scent, I haven't worn it any other time of year. I'm almost tempted to try it now, being spring, since so many of you prefer it! I'm not too familiar with notes in perfume (sometimes I can barely categorize the type correctly, ie calling a floral oriental) however, with that being said, I do love love love perfumes and I have a bit of an addiction with buying and reading about them. Someone described it as "sparkling " and "juicy" and I absolutely agree. At first, it's energizing and almost succulent, and settles into a fresh, feminine....air. I get a TON of compliments when I wear it, from coworkers to strangers on the street. It's also quite affordable, so even if you're unsure if it will work on you and your chemistry, luckily you won't have to spend a whole lot of $ only to be disappointed. I hope this helps! P.s. - I keep seeing it in TJ Maxx and Ross for SUPER cheap!!

I've had this one for a while now and was putting it in my 'give away to charity' bag, but I love Celine and I must admit that is why I bought it, so thought I'd try it once more just to be sure. I have an odd relationship with 'Sensational', I love the smell but I just don't like it on me. I don't think it suits my chemistry unfortunatly. It's fresh and fruity and sparkling with a big dose of soap. The apple gives it a tartness which just sits on top of my skin instead of blending with my smell if you know what I mean. I have never cared for apple in fragrance and it's probably because it doesn't suit me. It dries down to a big fresh soap (I'm not getting any musk), with a touch of sweetness, which I'm not convinced is meant to be there, I think I may have 'produced' that with my chem as it doesn't sit with the rest of the frag seemingly. In other words I think my chem has turned one of the notes :( This is a gorgeous fresh, sparkly floral that has the potential to smell great on the right person, lasting power is fantastic too! It smells elegant and vivacious and I really would recommend that anyone try it. I'm sad that it just doesn't suit me :( boo hoo!

I happened upon a small (15ml) bottle of Celine Dion SENSATIONAL shimmer eau de toilette being offered for about the cost of a sample ($3), so I picked it up out of curiosity. I had no idea at the time that the nose behind this perfume was Maurice Roucel! Then I became very excited, of course. Having worn SENSATIONAL shimmer eau de toilette a few times now, I'm forced to conclude that this was not Mr. Roucel's best work. It's not bad, by any stretch of the imagination, but the take away for me falls somewhere in the olfactory neighborhood of Nivea lotion. It might be the medium in this case, but my shimmer eau de toilette--which has a gel-like texture--does not really allow the alleged fruit notes of this perfume to unfold. I smell basically soapy generic flowers, similar in some ways to Jesus del Pozo IN WHITE or Dior PURE POISON, but at a lower quality level. I cannot say that I regret this purchase, since it was basically free. On the other hand, I won't be running out to acquire a 100ml bottle anytime soon.
