Saint-Germain-Des-Prés is another aromatic, full-bodied "cologne" from Celine featuring neroli - similar in style to Parade and Cologne Français. Instead of the straightforward citrus-vetiver of Parade and dominant fig note of CF, SGdP is a more unusual take on a similar scent profile but is still a breezily elegant everyday freshie. Refined and well-rounded, it is pared-back but luxurious. SGdP is led by its neroli note, green and orange-tinged, fresh but softly floral. I am partial to neroli in summertime scents, and no-one does it better than Celine. Petitgrain adds its distinctive green woodiness, complementing the neroli to perfection. It becomes sweet and powdery as it develops, with heliotrope giving it a featherlight yet sensual sweetness. The dry, airy vanilla rounds it out to perfection. I love a citrus-vanilla accord, and this is a wonderful non-gourmand example. The orris follows, giving a lipstick-y nuance to the drydown alongside the vanilla and heliotrope. The orange tinge from the neroli lingers until final fade, making for a cohesive, well-blended scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a feminine-leaning transeasonal daytime scent. My favourite of Celine's colognes so far, SGdP is beautifully put-together, classic in style yet original - certainly more sensual than the aforementioned Parade or Cologne Français. High-quality, creative and effortlessly elegant, this is very French. 4.5/5.

I didn't like it on first sniff at the store. Little did i know that days later, i would be constantly whipping the card out from my purse and sniffing it like a deranged bozo. My husband was concerned with this unusual behaviour. I assured him that i was feeling fine and just needed to shell out $300 for this luxury juice to stop embarrassing him in public. Now my new bottle of Saint Germain Des Pres sits together with La Peau Neu (also from CELINE), as my two new favourites after discovering that Hedi Slimane can do more than ZARA-inspired clothing. It starts green, sharp and slightly upturned. There is no lavender in here, but I somehow smell it. Seconds later it turns powdery and soapy, almost an antiseptic quality to it. But an expensive antiseptic, if you will. Slowly it rounds off to a fuller and more weighted creamy scent, though the combination of another note shape-shifts it into something I can't put my finger on - it's definitely not a basic b*tch vanilla. It is aristocratic, clean and noble. It smells like luxury shower soaps. This is not a dark and voluminous vanilla. Neither is it a cupcake, girly vanilla. I think about a freshly pressed and finely tailored linen blouse with a ruffle collar, straight from the laundromat of a 14th century mansion. It is a going-out daytime scent, to smell clean, put-together, expensive.

Definitely agree with reviewers below Mozzaa and Ferra_Verto! This is a hidden gem among the Celine lineup. Background, my favorites are ZouZou in the number 1 spot, followed closely by Black Tie, Saint Germaine Des Pres (SGDP), and Dans Paris. SGDP starts out with a bitter and green Petitgrain that I love, which then slowly fades into a Neroli and powdery Heliotrope combo. A slight sweetness follows from the vanilla, but the green aspect of the Petitgrain still remains. This is as Mozzaa below puts it, so effortlessly chic and so sophisticated. I love the beautiful wafts I get from this throughout the day, it does smell like an expensive soap but not in an aledhydic or clean musky way, it's like a creamy/powdery soap, but not baby powder. It's so hard to describe, and I find that none of the Reminds Me Of section is accurate at all. This smells nothing like Cologne Celeste which I also adore. Nor does this smell anything like any of the TF Neroli Portofinos, which I also like. This is super unique and I am so happy to have it in my collection. Perfect for the spring and summer, but not a huge projector or one that will fill the room. This is classy French perfumerie at its finest. Not loud, not too much of any one thing, it has that dare I say, je ne sais quoi factor.

Each time I wear Celine Saint Germain, I fall deeper and deeper in love with it. The opening is unmoving, and likely why this one gets overlooked so often... But the drydown, my god, it's heavenly! Neroli-vanilla-marshmallow scents tend to be cloying and sickly sweet (LDBS, Sintra, Oriana, etc), however Saint Germain retains it's fresh-green composure yet transforms into a sweet, but not too sweet vanilla. It's actually pretty clever how Celine took the ever popular neroli & marshmallow accord, and elevated it into something that smells luxurious, chic, and easy-to-wear. Also FWIW, my experience with Celine fragrances is that they get stronger with time. So if you're having issues with longevity just let your bottle sit a little longer. My bottle is a little over 1.5 years old and I am getting much better performance now vs. when I first purchased.

A soft, gentle but grown-up citrus-powder perfume with some original twists. The opening is distinctly green from the petitgrain and neroli and I love this green-ness, it’s almost elemi-like. It’s combined with a soft-as-baby's-hair, buttery orris root and a calm, almondy heliotrope. Drying to an airy, powdery scent as the green slowly fades. For me I find Saint-Germain-des-Prés works best in winter or cool early spring where the powderiness of the heliotrope and iris is held in check a little. While heliotrope can sometimes be shrill there’s nothing harsh about this one and it’s my favourite in the Celine line-up, though I’ll admit it’s not really my kind of perfume so I don’t wear it that often. Today, a blowy, wet December morning, it’s perfect. The marketing does make me laugh though when it refers to "the insolence of petitgrain". Please

Think of Celine’s Saint-Germain-Des-Pres as a whisper. A very sensual French accented whisper wearing bright red lipstick whispering somewhat undeterminable words straight to your psyche. A private conversation that only you and SGdP are privy to. It’s a sensual conversation, in a garden of heliotrope, wafting airy vanilla and that infamous Celine Iris, always hiding in the background waiting uneventfully to make its grand entrance but never does. Yes, SGdP is that special one we’ve waited ever so longingly for. Undeniably she will keep your secrets and unquestionably she will mesmerize everyone introduced to. So don’t let her out of your sight and keep her hidden and your tryst clandestine as long as possible.

Saint Germain des Pres is one of the standouts from Celine Haute Parfumerie collection. I’ve tried all fragrances from the line and its my favorite and probably one of best in terms of longevity and projection on my skin. Maybe the season is quite appropriate for this kind of scent(springtime) but I get beautiful wifts of it throughout the day. Its fresh,little bit powdery and i also get some slight cigarette note as well. I love this kind of note in the opening of Nighclubbing but it disappears quickly whereas in Saint Germain des Pres it remains for some time. Beautiful scent and highly recommended to discover from Celine Haute Parfumerie line.

Saint Germain-des-Près was my very first purchase from this line. I fell in love with the powdery sweet (not too sweet) neroli and the beautiful iris/oris root. But it’s the vanilla that draws me in, that specific and very distinguishable Céline vanilla that drives me crazy because I can never get enough of it! It’s sweet (not in a cotton candy way) subtle and perfectly balanced with the rest of the notes. It gives cool French girl vibes who is elegant and sophisticated but in an understated way. Nothing is loud here, but everything screams poise. A favorite of mine, no doubt about it!

This is the most under hyped perfume of the line. It is so soft, creamy, powdery, a bit nutty. An elegant statement, light but at the same time projects so well. It has a prominent neroli but softened by the heliotrope. I will be going through my bottle in the spring but you can use any season when you want a clean elegance. Edit: the more I wear it the more I get a buttery feeling from the orris. It is definitely comforting at times but get very overwhelming at another moment. Stays nutty and sweet throughout. Like a cosmetic cream but elegant and a bit woody-sweet.

Saint - Germain Des Pres is a wonderfully light, fresh linen scent. Imagine pressed cotton gently spritzed with a dash of zest next to a bunch of blue stemy florals in antique porcelain. Where Lazy Sunday Morning by MMM is an arcade bubblegum version, SGDP is the real chateaux. Vanilla works softly to raise this perfume from vestige to Verdun! Oddly, while seemingly refined, the florals develop in such an enchanting and playful manner that it is well suited for young and coiffed alike. Sportif, frâiche, et satis.

This is a little like Chanel No 5 L'Eau with added petitgrain and neroli. Fizzy neroli-citrus over bright vanilla and maybe the faintest touch of heliotrope, certainly clean but not soapy at all to me, just airy and fresh with mild sweetness, same as Dans Paris, in the drydown - perhaps a little 7-up-ish, a little pool-inflatable-plastic also? I can't really justify owning this as well as L'Eau, but it would be a beautiful choice for spring and summer.

So lovely that it made me realize I DO love powdery fragrances. The very subtle citrus in the opening prevents it from smelling too mature. The heliotrope is more floral and less nutty than it can be in other fragrances. My only criticism is that the dry down is a bit flat. Overall it's inoffensive but still smells expensive.

Why Celine made such collection using almost same notes and despite of having same notes, it creates different beautiful scents. I am so inlove with Celine perfume. They are all refined, all balanced, beautiful, alluring, super pleasant. Smells naturally clean rich people (old money vibe). This is my next target.

Oh, Saint Germain Des Pris might be my undoing (financially, that is). Yes, I agree with everyone who says it’s a light scent, but not boring. There’s an understated elegance here that still has depth and character. It doesn’t lean sweet. It’s soft, airy, and joyful. My favorite of the line, for sure.

Despite the note breakdown, it is green and a tiny bit sharp up front from the Petitgrain, but that sharpness quickly dissipates, and dries down to a a slightly sweet lemon custard & marshmallow powdery vanilla. This doesn’t project very far, but I love the ethereal scent bubble it gives me.

A lovely buttery iris, softly sweet with a classic cologne feel to it. In some ways it reminds me of original Dior Homme but without the heavier notes (ie. cocoa, amber, patchouli). Sillage is moderate then minimal, longevity is good. The neroli in this is beautiful.

Celine's perfumery Is so professional but also creative, I love my saints. this one starts green but hen you get Bothe powdery Mask and finally the creamy vanilla the same Celine DNA. Effortlessly chic, sophisticated French aesthetic. Love

really like this one. fits right in with the rest of the celine line, almost as a love child between cologne francois and rimbaud. it’s prickly green, powdery and floral with a vanilla dry down. very wearable. leans slightly feminine.

So so so beautiful, this fragrance has a nostalgic vibe for me. It's very petitgrain and powdery, think a bit baby powder. It's very cosy to wear for fall/winter but also bright enough to wear during spring and summer.

This smells like the angels above flew down here to Earth in an achingly beautiful garden...and their sillage leaves you stunned and mesmerized... 🤍🌱☁️✨✨✨ Just got a bottle of this and will cherish it for a long time!

This is a mix of Parade and Bois Dormant, that I both love. Powdery, light and delicate, simple, exactly what the notes suggest. Very beautiful scent.

Starkly, sparkly, green opening of petitgrain is really invigorating, further cementing my deeply held beliefs about the quality of these perfumes. However, I get much more of a clean vetiver vibe after that, like that 'handcream' sort of thing I don't tend to enjoy but it's clearly a superb perfume. The surprise (or not, considering this whole line is orris & vanilla heavy) in the base then is a sort of gentle vanilla and orris thing. I say surprise because I was actually quite disappointed with the lack of substantive 'base' in this one. However, it's not a rich orris it's one of those tricky, bois d'argent type vibes, very modern and subtle and definitely more of the sweet almond effect of heliotrope coming through. So all in all you get the electric, cologne opening of petitgrain, into a clean, woody floral accord for a short time and then a comforting warm, yet quite aloof, powder base. I like the perfume, it's pretty elegant and has those development stages as described but it's just a little too shy and doesn't announce itself enough. I evoked Bois d'argent which has a very similar MO but delivers way less of a shy experience. I'm a perfume lover, even if I want something subtle, I want to know I'm wearing perfume and not find myself forgetting what it is that I'm wearing during the day. This isn't a 'forgettable' perfume because that is something different entirely, it's just missing the mark by very small almost impercepable, margins.

This is a tailored, starched white button-up shirt. White sheets on a clothes-line fluttering in the wind on a sunny day. Freshly mowed grass in a lawn by the sea. A burst of petitgrain and neroli that quickly settles down to clean, crisp powdered laundry soap. It’s a beautiful scent. Kind of austere in the way it wears and I’m not sure it’s me, though I can visualize the person who wears this. I imagine a clean woman. Hair slicked back in a perfect pony tail. Clothes are chic and tailored to perfection. This person knows how to command a presence, but with an innate grace that I just do not possess. It’s fun when perfumes give off this type of feeling and imagery to me, as not many do. Definitely worth sampling.

It smells like Biafine. Reminiscence of my summer vacations sur la Cote D'Azur. My French people should appreciate it, or not. Biafine is for sunburns after all. As usual Hedi Slimane did a great job. The all Haute Parfumerie line is classy, very French, very bourgeois but still easy to wear. Nothing pompus, loud or vulgar. It's simple, but chic. Spring/Summer scent. Unisex leaning fem with moderate projection and probably the best performer in longevity in the line. Not eternal but far from weak. Good stuff even tho I like Black Tie, Cologne Francaise and Eau de Cali more. ⭐⭐⭐.5 out of 5

Testing my sample today, so pretty. Opens with sharp and green with crushed petitgrain, the sharpness recedes as a bright neroli emerges, paired with a powdery heliotrope. Gets a bit more vanillic as it dries down but not overwhelmingly so, the powdery greenness still persisting. Really smells like a high-end skin cream. This is nice in warmer weather, I don't think it would be as nice in the cold. Definitely not a projector, I think reapplication would be needed to last all day.

This is a new fragrance for me. So far, in my limited wearing of it, I get a really green blast at the start. It then sort of comes down into more of a powdery note, and over time you can really sense the amber. But I was surprised, at first, at how green it is in the opening. I'm not really seeing anybody else sharing the same experience, so maybe it's just me, but I thought it was worth noting :-)

This is doll head. The best smelling doll head ever. I'm glad I got a small decant of this compared to the bottle because I love it but there's a time and place to smell like a doll head, and it isn't everywhere all the time. However, the next time I'm suddenly struck by the mood to smell like a luxury baby doll, I have the perfect fragrance to make it happen.

Named after a chic Parisian neighborhood, this scent mirrors its namesake’s contrast and sophistication. It opens with a sharp, green burst of petitgrain that blends into fresh neroli, then softens into a powdery heliotrope musk. Personally, I find the transition jarring — the two profiles feel mismatched, like separate fragrances that don’t quite harmonize.

Elegant and chic, a nice French perfume. It is a very nice mix between petitgrain and neroli at the beginning, and then heliotrope and iris notes arrived... Unisex, yes! Parisian style, yes! The main problem? the sillage and projection.

Soft neroli and powdery heliotrope wrapped in creamy vanilla. Comforting, delicate, and nostalgic.

This is simple , soft and the definition of ephemeral (as most of the CHP line is). Bright and grassy & citrus forward opening. Soft powdery drydown. I want to (again) give them credit for the way the neroli is handled. It’s soft and not at all sharp and soapy. The neroli and pettigrain give the powder a freshness in beginning of the wear, but they disappear fairly quickly. That airy, fresh lightly floral feeling does float behind the powder throughout the wear, occasionally peaking out. This is a simple straightforward perfume that I would liken to a Matinee. The opening and the second show. Not much development, but very pretty and enjoyable for what it is. Wears super close to the skin with barely noticeable projection. (I just read that the brand references marshmallow in this description. I do not get that outside of the fluffy texture of this scent. Also the vanilla in this is minimal. Its use here seems to smooth out the perfume and bring a tint of sweetness.)

The opening of SGdP is radiantly bright, a fizzy bergamot strengthened by punchy neroli, giving it a golden but slightly overpowering warmth. The infusion of heliotrope appears —powdery, slightly almond-like, blurring the edges of the citrus with a pretty softness that detracts from the incoming headache. However, as it settles, the heliotrope-neroli combination somehow begins to take charge, inducing sterile hotel powdered-soap and not quite the nostalgic, dreamy dustiness I expected. Like freshly laundered linens, crisp and clean but with a distinct old-school soapiness that lingers on the skin. It’s neat, elegant even, but ultimately, the powder-soap quality in the drydown makes it a little too polished for my taste and just slightly unimpressive.

The opening is a blast of green, vegetal petigrain. It quickly settles to a powdery neroli on a very light vanilla background. Unfortunately for me the combination of the bitter opening + the soapy neroli + powdery heliotrope reminds my nose too much of a bathroom air freshener/ cleaner. If you don’t have this association then I can see how it would be a well-liked (although extremely subdue) fragrance.

This gave me instant nostalgia of Italy but after reading another comment about an older lady suntanning on the beach it really pin pointed it down. There’s a touch of sunshine and beach vibes to this but there’s also a note in here that is sharply green to my nose. Like you just broke a rose vine. It’s odd because I do smell that hint of soft vanilla at the base. Not for me

This is a comforting powdery, soft, clean scent. The neroli citrusy facet is subtle and fleeting. This almost immediately dries down to a dry vanilla, sweet almond-like scent on my skin. This has a restrained sweetness, like plush, pure white vanilla powder instead of syrupy vanilla. This remains on my skin like a lotion-like scent for about 5-6 hours with minimal projection (20-24C, fall weather). Inoffensive and comforting, great choice if you'll be at close quarters with other people. However, when I wear this, I'm eager to put on another fragrance that has a more distinctive character.

Vegetal, dirty and damp. This resembles a mossy, unkept, swampy garden on a cold, rainy autumn afternoon. I can't imagine why anyone would want to wear this.

Heliotrope. Yes, yes, it opens blah blah, and then blah blah. At the end, you'll smell like Heliotrope. Grandma scent. No, thanks.

Sadly, I just can't cope with this increasing synthetic sweetness.

This smells like an old rich french lady tanning at the beach.

Hits me with nostalgia for something.. some lush milky lotion my mom or aunt used to use maybe.. either way- it’s softly floral, cozy like a soft cotton shirt, clean but not sharp. You definitely get the vanilla, very cutesy delicate floral (I would almost think like a hint of gardenia or some other creamy floral but that is probably just the heliotrope) and just hint of hint of citrus. Celine really does airy soft vanillas well. It strikes the same chord as dans Paris to me but still doesn’t feel redundant because I love both of them so much!! Longevity is definitely weak but it’s not something I care too much about, just worth noting since many people do! The throw is intimate but not nonexistent. I can smell my wrist with one spray from about 1 foot away.

The entire line smells very French and luxurious. This was my favorite. It starts smelling like a dry not sweet Halawa (oriental sweets made of Tahini) and then dries down to beautiful sweetish powdery heliotrope. The opening is unique, the dry down os fairly common and similar to many heliotrope perfumes. If you like powdery scents you probably have something close to this. Performance: a long lasting (9h) skin scent on me. After an hour, my nose has to touch my arm to smell it. All in all I just find it too expensive for the performance but I might get a bottle for daily wear around my partner who is super sensitive to smells. Otherwise if you wear this to work, no one would smell it!

Crisp, slightly invigorating and clean to the extreme, yet opulent. I like to imagine this fragrance is inspired by a person with ironed bed sheets and towels embroidered with their initials on the corners. Engraved initials on all silverware, engraved egg cup and engraved heirloom silver platers. Sterling silver caps on Bully toothpaste along with tortoise and boar toothbrushes. A home in pristine clean condition where the help is hardly ever seen or heard because they scurry away right before the owner walks into the room to find everything “magically” back in its place. A home surrounded by a lush green garden where anything sullied is blasphemous.

This is the absolute best one of the bunch. When I was in Paris to try the collection almost two years ago now, this one really resonated with me emotionally. Which is weird. I’ve never cared for perfume in that way except for very, VERY specific smells. This is a photorealistic heliotrope and iris perfume. I love heliotrope - but I can’t stand it in most perfumes because it’s somewhar of a ghost note for disgusting accords of synthetic almond sh*t. But this is THE heliotrope, perfectly floral and sweet and almondy but SOFT AND SUBTLE. I want my entire life to smell like this. I’m obsessed

Really enjoyed this scent which surprised me because it’s not my typical type of scent I gravitate to but it’s very nice, classy, feminine, ethereal, a touch powdery, green but not overly so. Only problem is it’s very very light wearing. I need more oomph! Update: The more I wore it (2 more times) the more I realize how the magic is all in the opening/mid. The dry down falls very flat and it dried down pretty quickly as I mentioned above that this is basically a skin scent. Too pricey to fizzle out so poorly but I’m glad I sampled it.

Heliotrope always gives me Cabbage Patch Doll memories. This is all about the heliotrope and iris with a sharp petitgrain green moment in the early stages then winding down into a vanillic floral base after an hour. I enjoy it. It’s spare, it’s bougie, it’s classy. God, how I would prefer to encounter young women wearing something like this compared to some of the stuff I get bombarded with on the daily commute. Hedi Slimane is my least favorite fashion designer with my favorite nose for perfume. 4 out of 5.

Soft creamy neroli dry down. Smells very similar to JM Basil Neroli. I do not get the TF Neroli Portofino similarities at all. This is creamy. Not zesty. It gives me Guerlain Aqua Allegoria vibes. 2026 update: still just as beautiful! It's very clean and fresh. When comparing this to the new releases Un Été Français Celine, this is more earthy, iris, fresh, whereas Un Été Français Celine has more vanilla on the dry down and feels more solar and sunny, like a warm beach day in the Hamptons.

My second review of this scent, I wore it today. If you sprayed heavily, then dressed elegantly, went on a date, having nice dinner in a fine dining place, things are going well, your date leans in for an intimate moment and it’s the first time they smell your perfume that evening. They comment on how nice it smells and they like perfumes that are not too loud. That what this smells like, assertive and confidant elegance. Quiet wealth..

An oddly mature take on colognes with a bitter powdery heliotrope playing along with a natural neroli and a green woody petitgrain, very artistic. I find this too mature for me, but it's one of the most unique takes I've smelled for a traditional cologne. The note said Petitgrain, but to my nose, it has strong smell of Cyclacet, which is clean and "laundry" (after laundry) scent, and with some stiff leather (fake vynil leather) scent or newly opened box of new shoes (from heliotrope-vanilla-and neroli base mixture). the dried down reminds me of Cologne Blanche of Dior a little.

Ok so how to describe it... Maybe something like when you take blanche by byredo and Petits at mamans from Bvlgari and mix it ... maybe add little bit Touch from Burberry (kid’s one) and vuala Triple B :) Powdery fresh soft clean elegant innocent I like it I think perfect for spring, summer, office, travel ....
