Cerruti 1881 Rêve De Roses

I wasn't convinced at first and now I love it. yummy girly picnic fragrance. it's pretty linear but that's a plus for me, I like to know what im signing up for from the beginning (maybe it's the trust issues). what i smell is a fruity sweetness (reminds me of berries) complemented by a fresh rose. doesn't have any plastic cheap vibes. it's delicate, won't be overwhelming for sure. similar to a rose jam!! if you don't like rose or fruity notes, definitely skip this one. I don't like heavy florals and luckily I get none of that from 1881. nothing spicy or woody either. perfect for femme people who like to bake and pick flowers (or give off that vibe, fake it till you make it).

I don`t find a lot of pepper there, but that not bottered me. Opening is nice and yummie, not too sweet, fresh rose etc, notes folowed as they should. I must say I didn`t except so simple/minimalistic but at the same time interesting combination. As I see a lot of simmilar products between rewiews, I am not sure how original is it. For my taste I would appreciate more sandalwood in drydown but on the other hand - maybe it is ok just like it is. Sometime less is more. Respect to autor. Bought it blind online, for a stupid price and I don`t regret. Big LIKE !

This is my “cosplaying as a sophisticated adult that knows what they’re doing with their life” fragrance, sometimes I even fool myself. Classy, timeless, more mature but not old lady like. Fresh but spicy, citrusy, rose not intrusive at all. Very easy grab, very quickly became a staple. A bang for your buck, affordable but very long wear, on clothes it basically stays forever. Love ❤️

If you love roses this perfume is a no-brainer, it is a gorgeous scent worth more than what it is sold. I have smelt this in store a couple of times so I will definitely get a bottle or two! I wonder why there's no hype/barely any reviews for this perfume on the internet.

It's a very special smell, i really find it really unique, the scent of cleanliness is unique, it doesn't look like other perfumes, and has a special touch for those who love to change.

If you like the scent of fresh roses, this is perfect. It smells like a rose black tea with citrus, a beautifully sophisticated scent that can be smelled for a long time.

Just received this one after seeing it for a good price online. I should say that the original Cerruti 1881 is my absolute fragrance of all time and I doubt I will ever grow tired of it. With that being said, I am interested in trying fragrances that are similar but different if that makes any sense whatsoever. I tried the Blanche edition of 1881 and was completely unimpressed, I couldn’t sell it fast enough. It wasn’t bad, just not interesting to me in the slightest. I didn’t have high expectations for Rêve De Roses. Sometimes I love something initially and end up hating it after a while. Vice versa with other fragrances that don’t wow me and slowly grow on me over time. So, maybe time will be the ultimate authority as to which I really like this but so far, I am really impressed. I do smell the original 1881 in this version which I love. I think you have to at least like the original or similar scents to appreciate this one. As someone mentioned, the pink pepper and rose are the most detectable notes. When I saw oud listed as one of the accords, that did alarm me a little. I usually end up hating anything extremely oud-y, particularly where rose fragrances are concerned. Usually, I feel like oud matures anything and with a predominantly rose fragrance that can smell mature organically, that could be disastrous. I should mention that I am not a fan of “jammy rose” fragrances like Stella. I have tried but I much prefer “fresh rose” profiles. Thank God Rêve De Roses develops more freshly than jammy. I’m not detecting too much of the woody bases. They are there but subtly, they mainly serve to stabilize and meld the rose and pink pepper. There is a sensation of citrus that outlasts the initial spray and keeps the scent crisp throughout like the original. I love the ultimate bubble bath vibe of the original 1881 and that is repeated in RDR. Original 1881 has an “everything but the kitchen sink” note list, already containing rose, citrus and wood. RDR is slightly different with the prominence of pepper. The rose is amplified and it feels a little less powdery than the original. Not groundbreaking, of course but it makes an old favorite just a little more interesting. Longevity and sillage aren’t bad on both accounts but I will have to wear it more often to really make a determination. I love that they stuck to the original bottle design. The chrome on both the cap and bottle gives it a little elevation. I should have trusted that I would have liked this since it was created by Louise Turner. She’s created some of my favorites including Love Chloe and Glow. She also created the top dupe, Angel Nova. I am not really familiar with that one. I think it’s safe to say that if you can find this for a good price, you enjoy the original, you tend to like the fragrances that Louise Turner creates, or you’re looking for something similar to Nova, you would probably like this.

This perfume is delicious, with the opening being my favourite part. On my skin, it opens with a delicious plumy jam rose, then citrus, gentle pepper, and jasmine come through. It is a lovely, cozy rose perfume, something I would wear to bed, at the office, or at the gym. After an hour, it becomes a clean and comforting smell. While this perfume is not overpowering, I can smell the lovely whiffs, even a soft apple, lemon & rose smell. (Even though there is no apple listed in this fragrance, perhaps it's the bergamot.) This fragrance has a zen, comforting lemon-rose fabric softener smell now, after 2 hrs. I can smell the perfume at arm's length, then it turns into a skin scent. It smells wonderful and long-lasting on a jumper and clothes. For me, it is a different take on rose. It is not sickly sweet, but slightly sour and unique. It is a discontinued perfume and can be hard to get. I am glad I purchased this one. This masterfully crafted perfume blends the notes beautifully, smoothly and softly together. For me, it is excellent value for money. It smells a little bit, like Couture! Moschino with the slight rose note coming through, after 3 hours on me. I love the bottle. It is easy to open & use.

A fairly textbook (but lovely) Pink Pepper Rose, on a bed of woods, with a very slight juicy tinge from Bergamot. It smells like a cousin of Tilbury's Love Frequency , Hermes' Twily Eau Poivrée, and Moschino's Toy Boy but the price is decidedly far lower than any of those. It smells more expensive than it actually is, but it also holds up nicely by its own merits. Well worth the price of admission. You can easily wear this to work with a light touch if you love roses, and want something you won't need to worry about "wasting" something really pricey;anyone who doesn't get that needs to live life a little more! I would have liked a little more spice or some patchouli to give it a little more vibrancy, but ultimately you can't go wrong with this.

I can see why the angel nova comparisons! But this is really nice stuff, somehow i ws expecting less from cerrutti - its powerful and smells niche, much more niche than angel nove which to me is very shampoo-ey. This isn't, the pink pepper and woods make it so good. And bergamot, there is that citrussy fruity element to it that can be anything - lychee, raspberry, citrus. No strong drydown notes keeps rosey fruity throughout with a strong pepper. I can see why this has gotten more expensive than other cerrutis it's really good.

I tested it today in the store and honestly, I liked it better than Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. It is soft and light, very gentle citrusy rose. Inoffensive, fresh, office safe. Something like from the same family as Lanvin Rumeur 2 Rose. I will try it again even though I am not crazy rose fan.

To me the bergamot in this smells like green apple! Love the woody rose base. Very fresh soapy clean smell and stays for days on clothes!

I bought it in summer. At first it brought me memories. It was like an elusive dream that I certainly had in my mind for a long time. The smell of a couch made of leather with soft, orange light coming from a modern lamp, of course from the early 2000s. An open terrace door, inviting cool air from outside. Summer evening. Then it showed me the closet full of clothes. All of them were fragrant, neon or sometimes black with crystals and brads. When I looked closer, I saw the shoes, almost from a music video. The cheetah print and fake tan. Black hair. The smell of pearly lipgloss. It was my godmother, I swear - I think I would not forget that. This scent reminded me of her in some way, maybe because of the spice and fruity accords. It has its other, opposite side too - official and minimalistic. Very rich. When autumn has came, it started to radiate a different kind of energy with a softer, more delicate tone. The scent's not so strong as it was before. I think it's waiting for a summer evening again.

I really wanted to love this - the OG is my signature scent. However, it is not for me - all I can smell on my skin is overpowering pink pepper. It’s smells very masculine on me which is not my preferred scent. I’ll stick to the original - let’s pray it never gets discontinued as I’ve worn since I was 18 😊

Strong vintage rose (or rather: geranium) with pink pepper background. I would not call this office friendly. I think I would wear it for an evening date during autumn. Long lasting, even after washing it off.

A woody fruity Rose like Raspberry, currant, lychee. Also a bit metallic and cold whitout be "so cold" , It remains slightly jammy but fresh. Long lasting on skin. Yes, underrated, I'd say. It reminds me of Delire de Roses by Caron. Spring Summer fragrance, but could be an any season ones.
