Cerruti 1881 Silver Night

The perfumer who composed Aventus, Jean-Christophe Hérault, has come up with a fragrance that sits somewhere in between Aventus and Terre d'Hermes for under $50. I get aromatic, green, citrus, sweet and floral, vetiver and woody notes. The Terre similarities come from the citrus, vetiver and iso-e super (woody) side and the top forms a sweet pineapple accord a lot like Aventus. I agree with the Roja Apex comparison from NickZee, there's a lot of overlap and it's probably the closest overall to Silver Nights. My only criticism is it uses a lot of iso-e super... so does Apex PC and Terre though. I'm not a fan of huge doses of iso-e, ymmv. This is great overall and one of the best values ever.

A solid Loewe 7 Colbalt / Aventus alternative. Not a direct clone, but going in both directions, it’s a lovely aromatic, slightly smoky and citrusy scent. The rosemary adds a nice vibrant, effervescent pop to the scent. Got a nice metallic/clean edge, not as developed as in Cerruti 1881 Silver, it overall smells like a more "mature" version of it too. 3.70/5 feels a bit low as an overall rating imo, it’s a very nice option if you consider an allround, versatile, woody citrusy scent.

perfect for New Orleans summer night. One spray. This smell like lighter sweeter Polo Intense edp. Herbaceous fruity - like sharp green supposed to be there but its smoothed out round the edges. This is Good!

In the Roja Apex space while introducing some white floral balance to the woods. Quite nice and will represent excellent value if its price falls into line with other flankers.

For the price range this sits in it's pretty great! Mature and very traditionally masculine but this will appeal to those that like their modern blue fragrances too. Sharp invigorating citrus/pepper opening, vaguely similar in style to other modern Aventus-esque designers but this is more on the bitter spicy side than light or refreshing. Totally addictive nonetheless and much higher quality than you'd expect. Then it quickly goes a bit more old school woody aromatic. The rosemary adds an interesting subtle savoury aspect without going in the more aquatic aromatic direction you sometimes get with the note. The woody base is soft and neutral rather than a more bold modern molecule style woodiness, granted probably a big dose of ISO E Super but it comes across smooth and natural with a bright but subtle vetiver that continues through the citric sharpness of the opening. Apparently a CO2 oak extract is used in this so I imagine this contributes to how naturally woody this smells. Great longevity on me which isn't important but a nice bonus. Also for what it's worth this is pretty far removed from the original 1881 for Men from start to finish!
