Cerruti 1881 Sport

I've completely changed my view of this. Straight off the bat this is simple, linear and certainly not as complex or sophisticated as it's original namesake (which it shares nothing with other than great packaging). That said it's actually really likeable. Unique, No, but given its bargain price it's a really good fresh out of the shower smell, with great longevity. I've been wearing this to work for a few days now and I like it more and more each time. A blast of citrus/ oranginess followed by some agreeable marine notes that don't get too 'minty' unlike other 'Blue' aquatics. I've never smelled PR Invictus, which this is being called a clone of, but I'd rather pay the asking price for this and it's fantastic bottle than 3 times as much for a gaudy bottle knowing so many other great, sophisticated scents are available at the higher price point. I am beginning to like and respect this as a daily, fresh, uncomplicated, innofensive workhorse with one of the best bottles in my collection. Not one to blow your mind but it does a job and it does it well at an affordable price!

I get the Invictus comparison,but to me this isn't as sweet and the fresh aquatic notes are more forward. Also the hotter the day was the better this one performed on my skin. Were 104F degrees today and its still pretty strong. I oversprayed a bit (8 sprays)and its still noticeable at around 7 hours,but its not overpowering and sweet like Invictus. I paid less than 20 bucks for this one and it was one of the greatest bargins Ive ever found. I think I'll make this my vacay fragrance since when I travel domestic or international its usually to a hot climate.

Nice and fresh scent. Definitely for summer. It has descent longevity, on my skin it is actually unwashable :) I mean it stays on me even after a shower. For situations with lot of sweat (sports or summer heat) CS is a good choice.

I like it. Nice , fresh summer scent . The price is very good. I found it at 30 Euro for the 100 ml bottle. Longevity and projection are moderate

I'm generally not a fan of the Sport fragrance genre, and I wasn't expecting much from Cerruti 1881 Sport, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this one. While it is not a mind-blowing, unique, must-have fragrance, I found it to be a very pleasant daytime scent that is perfect for the Spring and Summer seasons. Performance is moderate in that it lasts 4-5 hours and projects soft to average on my skin. If I had to venture a guess, I would say that 1881 Sport is a more gentlemanly and mature version of Invictus; it has that youthful, mass-appeal, quality but it still retains a hint of that original Cerruti 1881 Men DNA. What makes this fragrance worth a look is the price. A solid like from me.

A very versatile, clean/fresh warm weather fragrance. It's not a masterpiece or a head-turning, statement fragrance and it has generic undertones but this is a solid value and can be had for under $20 for a 3.4 oz bottle through online discounters. Performance is decent for the type of scent it is. I get about 5-6 hours longevity and it projects moderately in the first 2 hours before settling closer to the skin. Not something I would put on a Top 10 all time list of summer cheapies but it is worthy of an honorable mention.

Was surprised by "1881 Sport", really nice fragrance! Lovely reassuring fresh scent, it's nothing groundbreaking but is very well made for the market it is aiming for, of note, for a citrus it is actually quite long lasting too. Managed to get this (UK price) at £16.75 for a 100ml, fantastic value for money, I bought a spare and gave to my younger brother, just too good a deal at that price to ignore. As with all Cerruti products the bottle design is topnotch. Thumbs Up!

Really nice and inoffensive stuff. Smells like a mix between Invictus and YSL L'homme. The sweetness from invictus is dialed back so it's a fresh combination of the two. Great summer throw-on for the gym, casual settings, or just a dumb reach, and for the price you can't go wrong. Shout out Gerard George for the recommendation.

A clean, airy, sharp, fresh salty/citrus fragrance. Moderate longevity and silage. Not expensive and well worth a spritz. I have tried quite a lot of marine/citruses and, in my opinion, this is unique. 1881 Sport is ideal for a hot Summer holiday.

I could go into the notes and quality of this scent etc, but I can some this up fairly easily with one statement.... "if invictus wasn't shit". That basically tells you what this is. On the whole, I really enjoy it!

I really like this one!! Sure it is sort of similar to Invictus but this is no clone what so ever. This stand on its own. A perfect summerscent!

What is not to like about this. It's just good. It is a sport fragrance. You get a some fresh aquatic scent. Plus some aromatic geranium/lavender. The best part is that there is a very masculine leaning classic warmth. It is slightly sweet, but not over the top IMO. This is a good all around sport fragrance for men. Not up to the level of Dior Homme Sport, but it doesn't try to be either. It is a good manly fresh cheapie. Edit: I'm downgrading this from a like to just okay/mid. There is a bit of a vinegar smell to this, and I dismissed it at first; however I can confirm that it is the fragrance. Without that off-scent then it would be a "like". You probably won't notice the vinegar unless you spray a sufficient amount.

I hate to say this, and especially as the first review but I was disappointed with this release from Cerruti. I blind bought as it was cheap, which was another oddity. A fragrance so new it wasn't even on Fragrantica nor did it have a tester (in the store I went to) and yet was already reduced in the bargain bin? Bizarre!!?!?! This is the fragrance equivalent of a straight to DVD movie and unfortunately it smells that way too. It reminds me of the new line of Gucci fragrances with a touch of a hand-cream type vibe, which I hate! Opens with citrus/bergamot and then enters a powdered, synthetic,'clean' feel which could maybe account for a soapy cardamom spice? There is a touch of lavender and aquatic sebreeze maybe? I don't get a vetiver base from it either, 1881 Sport is just a bit of a mess. Basically if you are expecting (like I was) a delivery of the notes listed here with the classy touch of the original Cerruti 1881 then prepare to be disappointed. This is a bland affair, generic and just not good enough. I hate to be so negative but I smelled it before and it wasn't inspiring the first time. Performance is actually very good, which will be good news for those young men going out on the town leaving choking clouds in their wake but not for the average user who won't care how long it lasts as I guarantee you'll be sick of it within an hour. I'm being hard on this because my expectations were high (not that high but hey) and it still didn't measure up. The smell isn't awful and not 'Bad' as such but I had to vote dislike because I can't put up with this kind of release anymore. The main reason I'm so hard on 1881 Sport is because I foolishly blind bought it, like an idiot! (remember there was no tester) and I've just no room for this kind of mediocrity in my wardrobe.

The only reason I won't sing the praises of this one is because it smells very common and generic, and of course synthetic. Plus, over the years I have subconsciously become spoilt when it comes to frags, with my palette being compromised hugely by niche fragrances. So it is no surprise that the likes of Cerutti 1881 just seem very 'meh' for me. That being said, it is not a bad juice and will do well anytime during autum spring or summer. Due to its freshness and perkiness, I'd say this one has its place among young men between the ages of 17 and 24

Well, this is an unexpected surprise. A watery suede scent, is that even possible? Yes it is, and it really works. Summery non-offensive, fresh, nice for daytime and office-safe. I don't get the resemblance to Invictus and I don't think this is " sport" as I think that "sport" should be, but nonetheless really nice and unique, absolutely well done. Makes me curious about the 1881-collection! Well done!

It's pretty good. Cheap enough to spritz on hot summer days when you need to freshen up with a bit of class. Has a good bit of depth, via some nice vetiver, cardamom and a chemistry kit to make it a fair contender in the freshie market. Use it on steaming hot days (I'm in Australia), when your best fresh scents are going to evaporate or sweat away. Especially if you actually play sport with fragrance.

I get citrus, fresh water notes (not salty), lavender, cardamom, and musk. It’s kinda heavy for a sport scent. It’s not light at all. Definitely smells Italian. I’m not really into lavender tho. Does not smell anything like invictus there’s no bubblegum sweetness at all. Pretty good longevity and projection. For $25, its good value. I appreciate the simple note breakdown

I don't quite understand all the dislike for this one? It's an aqua citrus it does what it says on the tin. It's fresh and clean, not overly sophisticated a reason I'm a like not a love. But never have I had so many complements from ladies wearing an Edt!! Shame they've all been in their 70s when I'm in my 30s but, nice to be complemented all the same.

Ok. As soon as you spray this, you’re like, this is another invictus clone, but once it settles, it takes a slight different route. Dont get ne wrong, you still get the Invictus dna but not as bubble gummy, I’d say it gets alittle woodsy and spicy. Its a nice scent.

I do get slight similarities to invictus but this bad boy does it's own thing! Fresh clean sexyyyyy inoffensive! Great gym scent and if you get some sweat going it will pop so much more of the skin! ✌❤

A copy of Paco Rabanne Invictus #1000000.... I'm so tired to smell Invictus in every second mass market masculine release.
