Nino Cerruti Pour Femme

The bold, honeyed plum floral decadence of Nino Cerruti Pour Femme was released at the apogee of this 80s trend and is among its best. A boss tuberose and its sidekick soapy soapy ylang-ylang is the heavy flesh at its core, wild and redolent, spiked with coriander, and it feels like jungle tendrils are reaching out and grabbing you lustfully. If Dior has Poison, Cerruti has Cyanide. Say your prayers when wearing this, and buckle in. Brace yourself and take caution: this is not for the pantywaist. When the come down arrives, things soften—just somewhat mind you, there's still some sharp tang. It veers into a more carnation-rosy woodiness and sweet muskiness, a lasting statement that will still enter a space before you do, trust and believe. It's my belief that this would be just as sexy on a person of masculine persuasion as well, complementing a certain swagger and twinkle in the eye. This number's oblique angles would complement a sharp jawline just as much as a high cheekbone. It's hot stuff.

Just found my treasured mini in a stash and oh yes, it is still as potent and richly gorgeous as it was when fresh and young. Pour Femme takes no prisoners, and in this respect it captured the zeitgeist - big and bold, no holds barred. Of course, it is strong and laughs in the face of anodyne impostors daring to suggest it is too, too much when it is rather the new ones which are not up to scratch. Plum, honey, tuberose, oakmoss - all present and correct; some ylang-ylang, carnation and woods pop up too. Although it is of its time, it is - like all the best things in life - timeless. Buy it if you find it; this is wonderful.

One of the loveliest fragrances I've recently purchased, NCPF features honey in a way that isn't overly sweet. I don't get anything resembling woods or rose. Ylang-ylang is present but not overly strong. So what's so great about this fragrance with the weird spiky top? Honey is a wonderful note and a personal favorite, as is oakmoss. This is a non sweet mossy musky fragrance devoid of the sharp, bitter notes oakmoss sometimes aquires. Expertly blended, the perfume should work for women as well as men. NCPF is a big love. I keep smelling my wrist, delighted with the scent. So glad to have this in my collection!

This is a very well blended perfume, to the point where I can barely pick out the different notes; I can say only that it is a warm, creamy floral, slightly ambery, slightly woody, with just enough sweetness. I find it very far from being like Poison, which I also love, but which is considerably less subtle. Perhaps it's similar in conception, rather than execution. To me NCPF is a classically Italian perfume: beautifully blended, beautifully balanced, complex without being complicated, simple without being basic, and elegant without pretension - like Italian cuisine. I like it very much.

I wish I had the vocabulary to describe this. a true masterpiece, beautifully blended, timeless. peppery opening that quickly settles into a sexy musky amber. a touch sweet, a touch spicy. beautiful woods keep it grounded. I NEED a full size bottle ASAP!!! the bottle design alone is stunning. I’m in love

Elegant and eighties, love it, miss it already, I treasure my one remaining bottle.

First notes are the distinctive acrid, burnt odor I associate with classic chypres, which remind me a bit of rust or iron filings. Perhaps this is the coriander mixed with something else. This goes away quickly, though, to be replaced by a stern dry floral scent, like tuberose strapped down under tailored gray tweed. I get spiciness, oakmoss, woodiness, but no other notes, certainly not the honey nor the plum listed above, at least not in the way those notes are treated in today’s bestsellers. (EDIT: But after an hour, whoa! Honeyed tuberose wafting up from the skin of my arm. This perfume is full of surprises) Pour Femme is a very elegant perfume, and very different from the current lot of department store fragrances. It’s severely intellectual; it’s angular; but also insidiously sensual. It’s for extremely confident women, perhaps with PhDs.

That one took me by surprise. It has lots in common with best juices of 80-s that I love and know. With eyes shut - at the beginnining, I couldnt probably differentiate Clandestine from Nino Cerruti Pour Femme - honeyed plum, by first accord of juicy mandarine - similar with Strass Soprani, but in Cerruti tuberose is more prominent, by soft flowery smokiness - reminds Balahe by Leonard once again, glamorous, lively, energetic, very smooth and sandal is fab over here! THe projection is terrific, lasts really well,I can only praise this juice for all it presents to you generously.

I've been curious about this for a while and thanks to a lovely fragrantica friend I was able to sample. As other reviewers have stated I do find this very similar at the top to clandestine which i own and wear however I find the heart and dry down veer onto a different path, the tuberose sweetens it up making it more playful. If I had to choose between the two( I don't think you need both) I would choose this. Would also be great on a man, very sexy!

One of my mother's favourites in the 90es, beautiful woody/flowery/peppery fragrance and amazing bottle for the perfume version with that long black pencil in the liquid... Waow. I miss it.

not a huge fan off this one, my roomate left it behind when she moved out well the little 50 ml bottle but when it dies down it remonds me of a lush smell like a general lush scent to it. i do not like it though BUT it has a baby powder smell with added spice on me

I am deeply in love with this perfume, a perfume that has few equals to my nose, rich... opulent and brazen without ever being too much, as only perfumes of those years could do! I was a child in the 80s and I remember the opulence that characterized that period, when a man or a woman wore a perfume you could smell it from one room to another, you couldn't run away... it was so nice to deeply smell those wonderful scents. I own this beautiful vintage, it immediately catapults me into an era that I experienced fleetingly as a child, but which I remember very well especially with regards to the perfumes that were used! (yes, my obsession or passion, as you prefer, began back then) as soon as you spray it you are invaded by a strangely fresh smell, I say strangely because these very strong perfumes are usually sweeter than fresh, it must be peach and plum that gives a fresh fruity imprint, then you can glimpse its soul made up of a thousand facets as only these perfumes could be, difficult to understand every single note, but I immediately feel an animalic, very sensual note, here on fragrantica it is not mentioned, but there I assure you that it is there, owning other vintages, I know very well that scent which has now disappeared, a sweet, sensual and at times hypnotic smell, it emphasizes the perfume to the point of becoming a drug, one continually searches for it, it becomes addictive. Needless to say, it lasts forever, monstrous sillage, you can smell it from room to room, happy to own this little gem that has now disappeared

Review based on a 3.7ml mini, likely from the late eighties. Begins hugely sharp and spicy, like the olfactory equivalent of symbols crashing; the spicy coriander and tart bergamot clamoring loudly over the mid and base notes. After fifteen or twenty minutes, Nino Cerruti transitions into a warm, sweet, plantishly-woody floral. It remains a bit spicy-sharp, but not nearly as piercing as it began. In true 80’s-fragrance fashion, there’s a generous dash of seemingly everything in the mix, but in particular: the bold sweetness of honey, the creamy sweetness of white florals, the spicy sweetness of carnation, the sharp sweetness of rose, the murky plantishness of oakmoss, and the smokiness of dirty vetiver. Nino Cerruti continues to develop, becoming murky-musky-sweet as the oakmoss, vetiver, and sandalwood take prominence over the big, bold florals. I love the brashness of 80s fragrances. Their manic verve. They’re like a red lip and a smoky eye on a supermodel: deliberately too much. Nino Cerruti Pour Femme is case in point.

An 80's heavy hitter that reminds me of another heavy hitter, Aubusson Desirade. Doing a side-by-side comparison and they share many of the same notes too. Plum, tuberose, coriander, rose, bergamot, musk, ylang, jasmine, vanilla, and sandalwood. They are both also sweet, though this is much sweeter possibly due to the honey, and both border on cloying if over sprayed. But the main difference is that I smell vetiver and oakmoss in this and that's not listed in Desirade. While I like this, I find it a little too rich for my taste. Desirade is also a powerhouse and too much for me too. Still, this is a beautiful fragrance if you like super strong scents that announce your presence before you enter a room. It certainly can make a statement. I would recommend going easy on the sprayer as this has the potential to be overwhelming.

Nino Cerruti was sure eighties, it was my alternative for Poison (the first purple bottle). The drydown was really beautiful, it offends nobody if you are going out, or if you had a dinner at the time. It has such a big personality, and character, also a perfect bottle! It was also at the time very difficult to find, because my friends where very tired when they come from town, if they want to give this one fore me as a birthday present. Fine, I say that make's me, and this perfume so unique, was my excuse. This all with a big smile, they now better about me, but this perfume was really, really unique! Sweet memories, will miss this scent!

This is on the same lines as Dior Poison. I have the vintage EDT version and in today's world this would be considered a strong EDP. Back when they loaded tons of oils into an EDT. I have never been fond of Poison therefore I am not particularly fond of this however it is a masterpiece in it's own right. Let me put it this way in regards to strength and silage - I got this in the mail and tested it in the kitchen sink sprayed on a tissue. I flushed the tissue and scrubbed the sink out with comet and I kid you not I can still smell this stuff. That was 3 hours ago. I have the EDT. I can only imagine the lasting power of the EDP.

What a bottle! It's a piece of art! Those were the TIMES and the PERFUMES! Not cheapies sold out 10 times more than they should cost Not synthetic mess which lasting power is a shame and Everyone is just persuading you "it's all because of many factors" Perfumes were perfumes! I hope this one isn't a regret either, one day I'll give a try But so far - my appreciation of the perfumery art Even if it's just a bottle look :)

I love vintage Poison but the berries sometimes ruin it for me. This is Poison but if it was a Chypre scent. Equally it smells as much as Poison as it does Vendetta and Clandestine but out of all of them this is the one that does it for me and I no longer need those others in my more minimal collection.

I don't find it similar to Clandestine, not at all. Clandestine is very similar to Only by Julio Iglesian. Only is just less much less animalic then Clandestine. Nino Cerruti is very similar (mostly in the heart and base/dry down) to Grazia by Gherardini (this one is not in fragrantica database)

I think Nino Cerruti was trying to create a tuberose scent as a rival to Dior's Poison. In my opinion, Cerruti won. Althogh similar, this scent, in comparison to Poison, is richer, fuller, less boisterous and more grown up. I think it's the oakmoss in the base that takes it to another level.

First notes of Nino Cerruti pour femme resemble me a little of "Femme" Rochas - I guess it is coriander and plum, but NC is much lighter. NC is a light, delicately sweet (honey) and elegant chypre, very pleasant and sensual.
