Vanilla Matrimony

I really enjoy this one, but - it is not worth the price they're charging. It's bizarre that they charge so much tbh. I picked up a bottle 2nd-hand for like $95 and even THAT is pushing it. This isn't a unique vanilla by any means but it does smell good. It lasts for maybe 3-4 hours? This doesn't smell better quality than my favorite vanillas from DUA (that I paid $22-$38 for 34ml bottle)... and I also tried this brand's marshmallow fragrance & mango fragrance - both of which are REALLY synthetic stock oil type scents. Not sure how they got to their price points? Many other Indie brands (and dupe brands) are making better for way less. And certainly there is better quality for the $150/50ml range too. I have to rag on the price but I do like this one and will keep it.

This really does smell like a straight-up vanilla, simple and cozy. The problem is the projection, it sits so close to the skin that I never get compliments, and it feels more like a personal scent than something others notice. Honestly, it works better as a base layer than a stand-alone fragrance. I like it, but for the price, I wish it had more presence.

My gosh this vanilla fragrance is photo realistic.. There's no other fragrance even remotely close. Lucky is a Master Gourmand Fragrance designer. When it comes for Gourmands, he is the king. Waiting for another fragrance to come in the mail.

Smells great, but it is definitely overpriced. Secondhand is the way to go.

Recently got a bottle on sale. I loovee the opening -- vanilla, cake-y, reminds me of Accident A La Vanille with less of the heavy butter note. But shortly after, it dries down and changes into... something else? Idk what notes it would be, maybe sweet, woody, and burnt? I think the person who said it smells like fragrance oils is right. I bought a bunch of fragrance oils to mix around and play with, and this smells like the drydown of those on skin, just a little lighter. The presentation is nice tho. I've also been layering Profumo Di Firenze Matelda overtop of this, and the combo is amazing!

for the price point, i would expect the perfume to be beast mode. to my nose, it’s not a beast mode perfume, whereas a perfume like bianco latte, i can smell for hours/days on end on my clothing.

I love gourmands, but I just don’t like this one. Unfortunately the reviews about it smelling synthetic are accurate. I don’t mind synthetic but it’s something about those fragrance oils that have butter that smell bad TO ME. I do feel for the quality it is over priced, but that’s his price. Since people are willing to pay I don’t blame him. Now I do have Nefertiti and marshmallow island both are synthetic but wayyyy better than VM. I hope he continues to improve his quality, I would love to continue supporting. Please sample before you buy a bottle.

This smells great but tell me WHY this is almost 200USD even though the company has neglected to hire an actual artist for the bottle's design?! They clearly slapped a shitty AI-generated image on to the bottle instead. Why is this so expensive when they use common stock oils AND shitty AI "art"!? Who is this money even going to? My cheaply-made bottle ended up jamming and breaking as well so I struggle to even use this fragrance on a daily basis.

I don’t know how to explain it, it smells nice in initial spray but imo has a stinky dry down. Almost like.. a hint of feet?

Honestly was disgusting to me. It smelled like straight butter. I did not get cake at all. Im dumbfounded by all the hype this perfume gets. I also think the price is extremely overpriced for the quality of the bottle itself. Numerous people I know have gotten this bottle leaking.

I just picked up marshmallow island from this brand. These are 100.01% pre-made fragrance oils mixed together. Very synthetic, harsh and overpriced. Do your research before buying from these tiktok brands that pop up out of nowhere.

I'm like 95% sure this perfume consists of common stock oils and perfumers alcohol that can be found by doing a quick Google search. Does it smells good? It sure does. Would I pay $160 for a 50 ML? Absolutely not. Especially when I could get something similar from any number of brands, all doing the same thing, popping up on a daily basis over on Etsy. My opinion might not be popular but I really feel like it's crazy to charge the prices that are being charged for this fragrance. Especially because of how inexpensive it is to buy wholesale quantities of the oils and alcohol used to produce these frags. I have nothing against these types of fragrances or brands at all (brands that use stock oils). Many people love them and I have some of my own faves from brands like Sugar Mama (her version of Strawberry Shortcake EDP is one of my favorites!), etc. But the difference is-those brands (Sugar Mama, Land of Aahs, Valerie's Uncommon Scents etc.) set their prices fairly and accordingly and that's why I'll buy from them. It's crazy to charge $160 for a 50 ML bottle of stock oils and alcohol. That's it, rant over. Lol.

I had the highest hopes for this one because I've been hunting for a solid cake scent. This house gets a lot of hype on tiktok so I got the discovery set that included Vanilla Matrimony. I can definitely see what they were trying to do with the butter accord, but my goodness this was so ridiculously synthetic to my nose. And honestly, all of the other scents in the set were super synthetic as well. As a gourmand lover, I've found some amazingly edible scents that manage to not smell synthetic in the slightest so the bar is pretty high for me. I recently tried Marshmallow Island which pleasantly surprised me and is easily the best scent I've smelled from the house by a very long shot. Very similar to Giardini di Toscana's Celeste, just airier and less dense. But as for Vanilla Matrimony, it was a no for me. To its credit, the longevity was great. But the scent itself was far too artificial smelling.

This is a dupe of Jousett's Accident a la Vanille. Joussett is a higher end brand and comes in at a cheaper price than Chancuex for the same 50ml. This brand has gotten notoriety for creating VM as if it was an original which I find to be ridiculous. I feel the owner comes off very likable like someone's kid brother, and I am rooting for his success. On the flip side his only creation that has the most success is VM which is absolutely a dupe. The other dupe called Velvina smells like a watered down version of Angel Share which to me completely missed the mark hence no one ever talking about it. The other creations potentially that are not dupes are mediocre and/or complete misses to me. Any other brand that creates dupes is expected to be under $100...less than $50 usually. Because of the high price point, and most of the fragrances being either misses or subpar I quit purchasing from this brand.

The most perfect vanilla fragrance ever! Plain and simple buttery, rich, and creamy vanilla with the perfect amount of sweetness. I do wish the performance was a tad bit better as it doesn’t project too much and longevity is just okay, but regardless of that it is one of the best simplistic JUST vanilla fragrances I’ve ever smelled.

Cahnseux Vanilla Matrimony is, hands down, THE BEST sweet, gourmand vanilla fragrance I have ever smelled or owned. Sweet, creamy, vanilla cup cake covered in a slightly spicy, buttercream frosting. I will never not own this!

Decluttered mine. Had a very strong waxy/plastic/candle type smell to me after I wore it. Too synthetic wasn’t for me
