Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere

It's a big day in my life.my first day with Chanel n5 premiere It's been weeks that I'm thinking of it and reading it's reviews.I couldn't find it for trying but I found a 150 mil tester bottle of pre reformulation no 5 premiere for a good price(according to overall Chanel prices)and I couldn't stop dreaming about it.finally I convinced my mom that she needs a Chanel in her life.she gave me money to buy it for her and I rushed to shaghayegh to take this darling home.last night I slept with a bottle of premiere near my pillow.what a lovely night I have never tried Chanel five or new premiere so I can't compare them.I was always afraid of animalic notes of number five so I couldn't even think of blind buying it Premiere was all what I had expected and even more.fellow fragrantican reviews describe it very well so I knew what I'm going to face.it opens with a bright,fizzy lemony aldehyde.for someone like me who really knows nothing about Chanels and aldehydic fragrances it was kind of strange and interesting.It was like champagne and also clean and lemony in a good way(I'm not a citrus fan).it's fizzy quality calms down as it's floral heart starts blooming I can say there are lots of lovely floral notes in it but I can't say it's a very floral scent. It doesn't smell like a garden or like a flower shop.notes are so well blended that you won't smell like a specific flower.I can feel neroli,ylanylang,jasmine and something like iris in it.they're not heady or sharp or over powering.they stay soft and pretty all through it's development. I can't detect dramatic changes in notes.it just becomes a tad warmer,softer and more creamy thanks to sandalwood,vanilla and musk.base notes aren't heavy and none of them tries to over power other notes,they're just there to ground other notes and provide a creamy base for light,clean flowers.It's a love for me from first second of spraying til there's a shadow of it's delicate clean scent lingering on my skin after hours.I see it as pure perfection.it's timeless,ageless,clean,classy,calming and charming.smells light and simple and lovely at the same time expensive and is effortlessly beautiful. Typically I love heavy perfumes and sillage monsters but premiere isn't showy even a bit.it's soft feminine charm makes it mesmerizing and enchanting Will edit to add about it's longevity but sillage is soft to moderate I don't know how I'm going to say goodbye to this beautiful babe and give it to my mom Edit: I'm the luckiest girl in the world! My kind,lovely mom tried it and liked it a lot but when she saw how much I adore premier,gifted it to me and asked me to decant 20mil for her.I can't believe it's going to be mine forever. I believe there's something common in all chanels(at least the ones I know) .they're all very well blended,clean and classy and are proofs for this fact:simplicity is beauty.chanel no 5 premier is really soft so if you wanna turn heads even before entering a room it won't do it for you but if you want to mesmerize people who are close enough to enter your personal area,it's a great choice.it opens like a seven up,fizzy and lemony and dries down to a subtle and clean woody-vanilla-floral.beautiful.longevity is all day long on my skin but sillage never passes moderate and this makes it highly versatile.it's wearable year round but shines best in Springs I had the opportunity of test new version of premier,ofcourse not a detailed and good test so I need further tests to really discover it's development.I Find pre and post reformulation premier very similar just that the new version is less lemony. I liked that one too

This is LOVELY! Just like the original Chanel no5, the different notes are blended very nicely, with no sharp edges. I therefore cannot say I can smell out far as many notes as the previous reviewer. The fragrance is... one of the most beautiful things I've ever smelt - it's very luxurious, sophisticated and cozy. I will tell you a little story. When I was little, I always used my mom's makeup, although I wasn't allowed to. So, one of my mother's friends gave me some children's makeup. It had this amazing, powdery smell, which stuck with me for many, many years. I went through a big amount of powdery perfumes, but couldn't find anything that smelt quite like the makeup. The smell was powdery, but not like L'instant de Guerlain , not like Chance eau Tendre by Chanel, not like Flower by Kenzo... but like Eau Premiere. This smell might be so nice to me because it reminds me of my childhood, but it's also just very, very, very nice. The powder isn't the musky type that tickles your nose, it isn't the sharp type that makes you feel like you're breathing it in, it's not the sweet type that makes you think "bitter-sweet" - it's VERY soft, slightly flowery, very slightly soapy (the smell of the original no 5) and very slightly vanilla. To me, this is perfection! Sometimes, when a fragrance is modernized, it loses its charm - this is definitely not the case! One thing though: even though some of the old Chanel no 5 continues to live in this, Eau Premiere is WAY different than the original, or at least to me it is, but the concept is the same: gentle, natural smell of a woman :) The longevity is good, but the sillage is not strong. I can smell this on me after 10 hours, but only if I smell the skin directly. In general, this perfume does leave a trail of the beautiful powderiness and flowers, but it's not a long one. Also, you have to be a bit more careful when spraying this compared to the original no5, which I can almost bathe myself in without it being over the top in 10 minutes. I could suggest trying this if you think the original no 5 needs slightly more sweetness, or slightly less soap. You can also try this if you like Dior Addict, but think it's much too strong

I'll admit... I am one of those girlies who wanted to love the Original N5 because of it's notoriety and popularity. My beautiful twin wears the original and she LOVES it. But I could not get into it. I chopped it up as a loss and moved on. Then she told me about this. She explained it as, "A N5 scent for women like you--works hard, successful, fun, glamorous, with a mean wardrobe. Like a Sex-And-The-City chick!" I couldn't turn that down so I tried it... Upon first blast I get the aldehydes, adult citrus, and the ylang-ylang and neroli. But wait, I LIKE IT. Not something I love, but I like it. That N5 scent is there, but it's toned down and it *gasps* smells great. Be more patient, there's more... The aldehydes and soft florals then simmer down. They're there, but they turn into clean linen-type scent. Finally, about 30 minutes later it dries down to it's final scent on my skin: EXTREMELY soft aldehydes, a minor amounts of woods, and a vanilla that would people who despise vanillas love it. It's like Chanel N5's 28 year old sister, who's stepped on the scene full of the knowledge and game that her older sis has taught her. The quality of Original N5 is there, however it's softened down and they've added some vanilla. It also takes a MUCH shorter time to get to this scent, then the Original N5 which takes hours to tone down to something I can tolerate. Sillage: Isn't huge on this, but in a way, I don't think it's supposed to be. This scent is a woman who don't have to show it all to let you know she's got it. You can see her beautiful legs through her pencil skirt, she doesn't have to wear booty shorts to give you the picture. People will smell it when you hug them or if they sit too close ;) Lasting Power: Is pretty good. I get a solid 5-7 hours. On clothes, you can get up to 10. I love this scent so much I purchased to 5 oz bottle and have plans to purchase the 1 oz, so I can have something to travel with. If you have not tried it, go ahead and do so. It's very deserving. It even has me wanting to give the Original N5 another shot!

I usually dislike reformulations, but this is wonderful! There's a bit of a family story to tell here, so bear with me - I think your time will be well-spent. My mother wore Chanel No 5 parfum in the 1960s, and I still remember how it smelled on her. I also still have one of her original bottles - 30 ml of pure parfum!! She had stashed it away and forgot about it, having bought several bottle duty-free in the mid-1960s. She found it again about 30 years later, still sealed in its cellophane. We opened it (yes, I know - such sacrilege, but life is for living, not for saving). The gorgeous glass stopper was well and truly stuck and it seemed that the level had reduced somewhat. My husband finally prised it open and - wonder of wonders! - its fragrance was perfect! (So, keeping our precious fragrances stored in dark places is definitely the way to go.) My dear mother passed away in 2004, at the age of 84. I put her half-used bottle of Number 5 in her favourite handbag, along with her handkerchief, some of her many pairs of earrings and her glasses. When I turned 50 in 2005 my son gave me a big bottle of No. 5 eau de parfum. The thought was lovely, but .... I didn't like the fragrance much. To me it just wasn't the fragrance I'd remembered. Was it the spray that altered the fragrance? Was it my aged olfactories? Was it because this was the edp and not the parfum? Or was it in fact a different scent? Some years later I was at the Chanel counter, checking out the latest Christmas release miniatures, and saw the Eau Premiere display. Spray, spray, spray. Sigh, sigh, sigh. This was it! This was the fragrance I'd remembered for so many decades. Dellighted, I ditched the miniatures and indulged myself in the BIG bottle of Eau Premiere. That was three bottles ago. It continues to please. To me, the name Eau Premiere sums up just what it is -the way Chanel No. 5 first smelled.

found a tall bottle on eBay. unexpected love at first sniff. having tried the one in the classic Chanel bottle last Winter - it smelt like musky vanilla to me, a bit fusty and fluffy and of little interest to me that day. I couldn't particularly feel the iris in that one and it faded to nothing within the hour. this is an incredibly made perfume. I have a vintage Chanel No.5 EDT and she is one sassy broad. This isn't a modernised version of her, as modern to me shrieks fruity floral or wallops of vanilla or vats of sweet patchouli. EP is still as sophisticated as her Grandma, she truly is. citrus top notes, aldehydes a l'original and no.22. neroli. love the Chanel aldehydes. such beautiful sweet iris. soft adorable Chanel iris, with rose and Ylang. clean green soapy creamy gorgeousness. dries down together with woods and greens. she wafts up hints of my Mum (she wears No.5 a lot). and the dry down hints also to me that of L'apres l'ondee. swoon. an unexpected pleasure after a week of Chanel wearing. 28 La Pausa and THAT iris. yesterday was No.18. bliss. heavenly. Chanel make some very beautiful perfumes and this is one of them. I have read a lot of comments about the type of person who might wear this from only young girls, to ladies in the boardroom. I am neither of those and it suits me, a slightly dishevelled busy Mum who lives in a small town in the English Lakes. I think anyone can wear this delightful perfume. it is timeless, ageless and not just for ladies.

I first picked this up at its launch in 2007, but I (inexplicably) returned it. I remember that I had been so excited to get it, because I love love love Chanel No 5, but I was disappointed that Eau Premiere wasn't "as good" or as strong as the original. So I exchanged it for the No 5 pure parfum instead. Fast forward to now. I already own L'Eau, and it is way too soft to even be detectable to me, but I figured it was time to revisit Eau Premiere. I decided to purchase an original 2007 version and I am so happy I did. It's so fresh and lemony, and actually reminds me very much of Shalimar Legere (which is also pretty new to me and which I also love). This is a perfect Chanel No 5 for summer...not too strong as to be headache inducing, but persistent enough to be enjoyed all day. I'd say L'Eau is more of a wear to bed scent as it's a "barely there smell" to my nose (I never used to wear fragrance to bed but once I heard others talk about doing it I figured why not?). Then classic No 5 can be enjoyed through all of the colder months. As for the most recent Eau Premiere, I'd like to get a sample and see if it's worth picking up as well, or if the changes are too minimal. Edit: I layered Rose Jam body spray by Lush under Eau Premiere today and Oh my God! I am floating. It's just heavenly. They work together perfectly and seamlessly. I am in a lemony rose garden!

I had to smell this reformulation of a 2007 perfume. To this point we are... It was masterpiece because it smelled its own way. It was not Chanel n.5, it was Eau Premiere. Now this new version in a bottle identical to Edp really puzzled my opinion. Same bottle... why? It makes a lot of confusion. Different scent...why? It smells pleasant and still a good one, but it lost special features of Eau Premiere and became a mere faint and bland version of Chanel 5. It can still be worn with pleasure, this is not bad, but for that pricetag a faint version of latest Chanel 5 is an unfair strategy. Basically very similar to old version but it lacks something... I'm not expert enough to say what it's missing here. I tried it and it smelled like Eau Premiere without a quid that made the old version a masterpiece. Maybe a high vibe neroli? There is some mish-mash here, take away this, put this other inside. Replacement. The scent is stronger at first and could make you think that they even made more concentrated, but longevity is shorter and the overall feeling is tamed and lacking. It has become a nice "modern" one. I will give it another try on different weather and mood. Now, you can buy this one now (no choice, right?) and still be happy with it. I will miss Eau Premiere but I doubt I will buy it again when my old version bottle will be finished.

When Ernest Beaux, the original nose behind Chanel No. 5, was making the original perfume, he wished to capture the scent of the white, snowy, icy landscape he saw during his time in Arkangelsk, Russia, and the aldehydes he used were said to be of "a melting winter note". To me, N°5 Eau Premier is truer to that original desire than any other formulation of the legendary fragrance. It's crisp and fresh like the arctic and is very "white". Mr. Polge has done a marvelous job at recreating the original. It's magnificently feminine and extremely beautiful. It's crisp and clean but there's something about it that makes it quite sensual as well. I would name it my favorite version of N°5 by far, even though, despite being barely 20 years old, I really like both the EDP and the EDT. (I have not tried the Elixir.) I think this is a very sophisticated, beautiful perfume that is perfect year-round and, despite smelling very luxurious and "rich", suitable for every day and any occasion. It can add a bit of glamour to your day no matter what you're doing. Ernest Beaux, describing the art of making a perfume: "It is like writing music. Each component has a definite tonal value ... I can compose a waltz or a funeral march" Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere is most definitely a waltz. Bravo, Monsieur Jacques Polge.

Reformulation... I'm still in shock. I went to CHANEL counter wearing EP from my (neally empty) tall bottle and found it now comes in the classic bottle. I don't know where I have been. Anyway, I gave one spray on my wrist ... it was different. That clear, sparkly sweet Lemon was toned down & a bit sweeter. It had more Aldehyde. Not quite as cool / 'high frequency' as No.5 EDP opening, but similar. The top settled down. I felt the New EP is going fuller and sweeter. This is not how EP I'm familiar with goes... 20 minutes later, strong MUSK kicked in! Gee, what did CHANEL do!? Maybe, when they were not watching, original EP & No.19 Poudre had an affair & gave birth to New EP ( then the child murederd original EP). The Muskyness is definitely No.19 Poudre territory. I adore No.19 Poudre. But I would have screamed if they replaced Poudre to No.19 and pretended nothing had happened. CHANEL HP still call EP "Decidedly Light". It's not really. It's not the casual, luminous, breezy, relaxed interpretation of No.5 any more. Original EP is gone with that tall bottle.... It's so sad. If you disliked original EP for the Lemony top & love Musk a lot, you might like the new one.

I never cared much for No5 as I found the aldehydes to be very sharp, screech and breezy. In fact, I would go on to say that No5 is very headache inducing on me. The shame about this perfume, is the fact that it is called No5 at all, as I was very nearly put off trying it, thinking it would be similar to the original. I was entirely wrong! This perfume is ravishingly beautiful and has awakened my interest in aldehydic perfumes. The initial spray is more No19 than No5, It seems to take all the most heavenly aromas from the original but leaves behind the sharp unpleasantness associated with No5. Beautiful rose absolute starts this symphony, followed by the gentlest of jasmine. I find this slightly 'green' which I love, the aldehydes are soft and refined, they don't shout at you, even in the opening. I get so many shades of Chanel No19 which is probably why I just can't get enough of it! This delightful scent also reminds me of RP Baghari, especially in the dry down. Longevity is 6/8 hours and the silage is all enveloping. This is a stunning olfactory experience, a truly exquisite perfume, elegant, classy and oh so Chanel!!

While you can tell that this perfume shares the same DNA of the original Chanel No. 5, it is its much more shy, ethereal sister. It is much more powdery and muted, with a lemon-y opening. Lots of vanilla and ylang-ylang follow the citrus burst gradually settling down into a woody-sweet scent that makes me think of crisp spring mornings. It is very bright and much more transparent than No. 5, and a lot less aldehydic, but the relation is still there. Unfortunately after about 2 or 3 hours, it is gone. I sprayed some of my mothers No. 5 Eau de Toilette on one wrist and Eau Premiere on the other, and while after hours of work and a shower the EDT was still going strong, the Eau Premiere just couldn't keep up. But for some reason I felt more drawn to the Eau Premiere; perhaps just because the lighthearted smell of every stage made up for the weak lasting power. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a giant 5oz tester so this scent will be sticking around for a while, and honestly.. I have no problem with that. Definately a great spring scent, and perfect for when you need a lift in your day, or night.

I am lucky to have received a sample of the pre-reform Eau Premiere so that I could compare it to my sample of the new. Pre-Reform: I have no idea when they reformulated it, but I wish I did so I could track down a bottle. It is gorgeous. As Sayaka's review states, there is a sweet lemony fizzy vibe and it is gorgeous. Behind it is No 5, peeking through all that. Not your modern formulation, but remember how No 5 USED to smell? Without all that skank? Ok, that. It is soft and subdued and stunning. Post Reform: At the top I get a busy meeting of aldehydes. It's a little messy and I wasn't sure where this was going, but it wasn't going in the same direction as the pre reform. About 30 minutes later I had a brand new baby No 5. You know who the parents are? Vintage No 5 and Calandre. Don't ask, I don't know how those two hooked up, but they did. It's quite nice if you like bold perfumes of the past. However, I would prefer that they go back to the pre reform and I'll just wear my Calandre and Vintage No 5 when I feel like it. Anyone know what year they reformulated Eau Premiere?

Just recently I was able to acquire the original slender bottle of Eau Premiere. I also have the recent formulation as well, in the normal square bottle. I wanted to do a comparison between both of them! Similarities include the floral accord and bright opening. Differences: The original slender bottle tends to dry down with a more bitter and soapy quality that is really smooth. The opening has a fresh lemony quality to it. The new version dries down with more vanilla, and is a bit sweeter. The opening has a lemon cake/batter creamy quality to it. Overall, I'm liking the slender bottle just a little more, as I found the sweetness in the newer version a little too cloying. However, both smell really good! UPDATE: I noticed with the original, it does start out softer than the current one, but over time, it intensifies, while the current one slowly fades away. Also, the original formulation is giving me close resemblance of the dry down of the No. 5 Body Cream with the more pronounced sandalwood. I don't recognize this with the newer version.

PREMIERE I find Premiere to be the perfect update of chanel #5 , unlike some other updates or flankers , Premiere has been done beautifully , soft, powdery and elegant. Liked by all , even the ones that weren't particularly fond of Chanel 5 ! Premiere is more transparent and perhaps more floral. More fluffy, a powdery , sweet delight , childish yet elegant , playful yet grown up , can take you from home to the playground with your kids , out to the pup or dinner later. Ultimately versatile , made for every woman , the casual and the elegant , the business woman and the stay@ home mom. Premiere is a cozy, more casual version of the iconic #5 , the first spray to me is like a lemon meringue cake , then it becomes quickly more floral, iris and rose and powdery , nice woody vanilla dry down. Over all it remains a clean soapy smell, fresh but warm and cozy. Much like the original, but softer and more modern. You can absolutely wear it anywhere , anytime ! I love that about a perfume, it's extremely versatile. You get your money's worth !

I've always wanted to like Chanel no 5. There was something about it that made it intriguing. The history. The rumors. The icon that it has become. But I just couldn't do it whole-heartedly. My grandmother had a bottle of the Eau De Toilette in her bedroom, and I used to sneak in and smell it everytime I visited. And play with her pearl necklaces. And silk flowers. That bottle was from the eighties, and it was big and bold and all over the place. And I just never managed to fill its shoes. But I knew I loved the luxury. The packaging, the black and gold, the logotype. Just lifting the cap of made me feel like this was luxurious. I tried. And I gave up. Until I was given the "Eau Premiere" version as a sample. And then I was stuck. I mean. Really stuck. Aldehydes, Ylang Ylang. Soapy. Classic. Thick black lashes. Skin. A smile. I feel like this was made for me. For us. The other generation. This feels like the grandchild of the Original No 5. Same genetics. But a future timeline. Gorgeous and beautiful.

Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere is so sparkling and full of sunlight, I can't believe it's so dominated by flowers. I'm a longtime fan of Chanel No 5 both EDP and EDT (never have tried the pure parfum, but I hear it's an experience). So I knew I'd adore this version. I was right. Blushing rose, that exclusive and alluring Chanel jasmine, a layer of ylang-ylang and neroli resting in the middle like a sheet of white silk. Fragrantica lists vanilla in the notes. Yes, but it's a different kind of vanilla, a powdery vanilla adrift in a garden of fresh florals, and it's very subtle. Another site lists the notes this way: Neroli, May rose, Iris, Jasmine, Ylang ylang, Amber, Vetiver, Sandalwood, White musk, Vanilla. I wouldn't have guessed musk or vetiver. But maybe it is hidden in Eau Premiere working its synergistic magic. I don't think the original Chanel No 5 needed a flanker. I think of Eau Premiere as a modern tribute to a true classic. I feel like a butterfly magnet when I wear this. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Vintage Floral-Aldehyde YLANG-NEROLI with Creamy, Soapy, Powdery, Woody & Near-Licorice Nuances. This review is for the 2008 Eau Premiere, now sadly discontinued but sometimes available on the grey market. In the first couple of minutes after the spray dries, I get mainly aldehydes with a soft-sharp combination enhanced by the ylang-neroli. Ylang here is buttery-creamy and neroli brings a clean & soapy facet. Transitioning to the heart, the jasmine & rose swell through with soft near-licorice and velvety floral nuances. As it dries down, it picks up more and more vanilla and soft creamy sandalwood. I've had this bottle since 2008 when it came out as an updated version of the original. To me it still smells like the original, but it's a little softer, creamier and more vanillic. Has excellent performance for year-round wear, but to me it's a special-occasion-conservative scent with a dash of Ice-Queen. It's a longtime love for me. If you happen to find a vintage bottle, enjoy!

I tossed my hair and waved my arms. Oh my God! Could this be the way to wear a perfume? Now I can enjoy this perfume. It's so beautiful that I'm officially in love😍😍 🌸 Teşekkürler @mamufa ! My previous sig, still a favorite. Sweeter, lighter, easier than the more serious versions of No 5 to slip into and wear for everyday but still refined, lovely and complex. It lasts on me but the overall tone is indeed a lighter impressionist interpretation of No 5. I love to smell all the versions but this one I can wear any day or on my birthday, in any season, to bed with intent or for just no reason at all. It is effortless elegance, which I love! Everyone should have a perfume that makes them feel this way, no matter if they love variety or are loyal to just a few. My first fragrance was Chloe, then I stole a boyfriend's Grey Flannel and switched it up with Lauren. White Linen freshened an endless number of stale desert summers. As a grown woman, I chose Fendi and wore it for over a decade, then for a long time, single or blended natural floral and herbal oils. Now this fragrance will take a rest, I have moved into the Guerlinade to pick violets.

Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere (from the tall bottle) evokes feelings of such languid elegance that's easy yet refined. With effervescent aldehydes to open and freshly plucked neroli and ylang ylang, Eau Premiere captures the heart with a bright, warm welcome--a confident toss of perfectly groomed shiny hair and a dazzling white smile. As the fragrance dries down, it remains airy, yet full. Like a heavy liquid satin that floats with ease. The base is woody and sensual--a perfect harmony with the aldehyde, and flirty yet composed, silken ylang ylang. Pearls with well cut jeans, diamond stud earrings with a crisp white t-shirt, or even the classic little black dress, day or night. Although with different notes, it runs in the same circles as Balenciaga Paris without being quite as aloof. I find this fragrance a versatile Chanel that doesn't compromise on its classic hallmarks. No. 5 Eau Premiere is a modern and gratifying formulation.

A truly beautiful perfume & as much as I love the original Chanel No 5, this is much more wearable. Both fragrances are sophisticated but EP is much more 'lighthearted' and can be worn easily during the day as well as night. I love the fizzy lemon top note. The aldehydic note isn't as slap in your face as the original No 5, making this much more of a crowd pleaser. Anyone thats tried to like Chanel No 5 but just can't get on with it should try babysteps with EP. My other half HATES Chanel No 5 but LOVES EP? The only downside is the longevity - I find I have to respray several times as it just seems to disappear after a short time (the same with Cristalle Eau Verte) - I notice some other reviews mention the same thing. Haven't tried the new reformulation & hoping they haven't played around with it too much as the original was a thing of beauty.

At the age of 23, Chanel no 5 was given to me as a present. Ever since that day I always had a bottle of Chanel no 5 Eau de Parfum in my closet. Over the years I collected more perfumes and did not wear Chanel no 5 as often as I did before.... until a lady in the perfume store let me try the Chanel no 5 Eau Première. I instantly fel in love with this beautiful, sparkling, fresh, lighter version of Chanel no 5. It is more wearable for during the day. No 5 is warmer and deeper and therefore more suitable for colder weather or the evening. I wondered why I neglected such a beautiful Perfume and instantly bought a new and fresh bottle of no 5 as well as a new bottle of the Eau Première. Eau Première is the most favourite and precious scent I own. So delightful, so breathtaking! I am still thankful for having discovered Eau Première.

In the beginning, I got a lot of aldehydes and the headache came not too long after. It smelled too mature for my age (early 20s), and I feared that this was yet another Chanel that wouldn't work on me. However, after a couple of hours, an amazing, cozy scent wafted up from my arms. I couldn't believe it was the same fragrance I had smelled a while ago. The drydown was perfectly warm and cozy, not what I had expected after its initial blast of aldehydes. I am more than happy to keep wearing this and willing to suffer a bit in the beginning for the wonderful rewards it eventually yields. Unfortunately, it did not last very long on me. I sprayed it on right after a late night shower, and by the next morning, it was barely detectable. It could be the weather, which shot up to 93 degrees today, although I'm not sure.

Just heavenly! I hadn't given Eau Premiere a second glance because I saw "No 5", and kept walking. Thanks to the reviews here, I decided to test it. It wasn't love at first try, but a few encounters later, I was hooked. So feminine and light! Powdery, creamy florals floating on an aldehydic cloud! I do get more lemon from the tall bottle, and it comes & goes as it dries down. In the very end I smell some soft vanilla reminiscent of the very last traces of Shalimar. The newer square bottle isn't too different to me, just more floral, overall. I think the flowers blend into a beautiful bouquet and I don't smell any heavy rose or jasmine (thankfully). This has become one of my favorite perfumes of late, and I'm loving it in the springtime! It feels effortlessly classy. So glad I have it, better late than never!

I'm a fan of Chanel No5 Eau Premiere. I just wish that its existence would help mitigate the constant reformulation of the original No5. This scent is meant to attract a modern audience and is calibrated towards the tastes of today's younger consumers. It's supposed to be No5 for millenials. In a lot of ways, I think Chanel has succeeded in achieving that goal. Eau Premiere smells a lot like a slimmed down version of No5. Most of the more sensual and animalic components have been stripped out of this version. What's left is citric, softly floral, warm musky, and aldehydic. The sweetness has been intensified, but even still, this is not a sweet perfume. The result is a refined, beautiful, modern, powdery scent that feels simultaneously minimalistically chic and indulgent. A new modern classic.

oh, I love this... high quality terrycloth towels; going to a dinner in gold jewelry and mules but with tips of your hair left curly from sea water, a light sunburn on your nose; Jane Birkin's white swimsuit in La Piscine (1969). aldehydes here are cold and sparkling instead of soapy. make you feel pampered, effortlessly so but does require a certain... aspiration? like being a good skier or being able to quote the Iliad or at least wanting to appear as someone who is fluent in Italian and knows how to open oysters properly. N°5 Eau Premiere definitely would have a transatlantic accent if she was born 50 years ago but she would be enough fun to see that you messed up "champagne" and "sparkling" before a polite company on purpose. Perfect thing to spray on clothes. A delight!

I am convinced it smells differently depending on the weather! When wearing this in the summer, I get a very strong bitter sweet ylang-ylang and jasmine, whereas the other notes all take a back seat..Interestingly, smelling like quite naturally with almost botanical properties that are normally a feature in natural perfumery. Regardless of the "natural smell", it still smells like a top notch perfume for real ladies. In the winter it smells completely different - flowery and aldehydic and perfume-y. My association might not ring a bell, but if crystals had a smell, i imagine that's how they would smell like. It must be mentioned that the lasting power is not great in the summer, and to me the scent is much more alluring in the cold winter months.

My missive to Chanel Eau Premiere: I love you I love you I loooove you! This perfume is a lighter, updated version of the original and does not overpower your senses or people standing nearby. This update was a smart move by Chanel because it provides a modern appeal without excess spicy fullness that can come from perfumes with origins circa early 1920's. The scent gently caresses your skin on the dry down that lingers delicately while maintaining the layers of different notes ever so softly. This fragrance seems to have a long-lasting appeal like akoya pearls or if I were to compare it to a movie, it gives a vibe like Breakfast at Tiffany's feel - fresh, fun, lively but still classic.

For those who are wondering, it's definitely a new formulation in the square bottle. The original Eau Premiere that came out in 2007 features a long bottle with a bit more lemon. It's also more delicate, softer, and there's a nice fizziness to it. But the lemon is the biggest difference between the two formulations. The new one (in the square bottle) barely has any lemon in it and smells more like an updated version of the EDT instead...actually it's much closer to the EDT than anything else. I think I might also say that it's a touch more floral. Overall, I like the new formulation better since it's closer to my taste, but the old formulation was unique even though it was a flanker.

I blind bought a bottle at the end of last year after reading through these thorough reviews, and absolutely love this fragrance. It has enough going on that it makes me feel put together somehow, yet is still light and so wearable, it's a nearly everyday frag for me now unless my urges call me elsewhere. I even spritz a bit on my bed linens, as there is something deeply soothing and relaxing about this formulation. I think it might be the neroli, which I often use as an essential oil for relaxation, but there is just a lot of chill here on the dry down. I would definitely recommend that anyone who couldn't quite carry the weight of the original give this one a go. Equally timeless.

Everyone else has said it all but I'm unsure if this came up: it's a tad evocative of Shalimar Light (eau legere) for a bit. The citrus, vanilla, and inherent ylang do this thing that triggers my brain to believe they're alike. Personally, I adored Shalimar Light and bought a set of bath gel, lotion, and spray when it was new. And then, something happened and I was overwhelmed by the fizziness of it and gave it away. For me, Eau Premiere is its primmer, more refined cousin from the old parts of Paree until it completely cools its heels and settles in as a womanly expression of myself. This I reserve for days I want to impress others because if I didn't I'd wish to wear it every day.

I just want to add another review about 5 years later now. This fragrance has become my signature scent and most dear to my heart! Its one of those things where you may try others here and there and dabble into something new for a bit but my heart always belongs to eau premiere! This is just so beautiful. Light woody floral that lingers on the skin in a sweet way. Im finally close to using up my big bottle of this one and Im actually excited to buy a huge bottle of eau premiere in the new square shape bottle..I have tested the 'new' version from 2015 and they really are the same. I do like the looks of the square, classic bottles better anyway. Love this so much <3

I keep persisting with Chanel perfumes for one simple reason: they work well with my chemistry. The Eau Premiere has a wonderfully classical feel to it, as a modern woman's Chanel that smells sophisticated and elegant. On my skin, Eau Premiere embodies the beautiful, familiar and creamy-woodsy aspects of the dry-down of Chanel No. 5. The aldehydes add a tiny bit of sparkle and it's very cozy and comforting. The dry-down of this particular perfume is ultra soft, powdery and light. Sillage was soft to moderate; longevity is for about 6-7 hours. This fragrance would blossom beautifully in the heat, as sillage was much better when I exposed my skin to some sunshine :)

Simply sublime! I'm so glad I overlooked the name, followed the advice of my fellow Fragranticians and gave this one a try. I can't imagine why this sweet tempered beauty was launched into the world in the shadow of her older relative - marketing, I'll never understand you. This is not a real flanker. Yes it shares the typical Chanel bone structure with no 5 - the plush cloud of aldehydes and powder. But to me it more closely resembles Bois des Iles. It's lemon sorbet to Bois des Iles gingerbread. It deserves it's own name. Limonata or something. The only problem is, I can't decide which Chanel I'm saving up for now, Eau Premiere, Coromandel or Bois des Iles.

The opening of this fragrance is like sticking your nose into a bag of sherbet lemon candies. It is lovely; creamy, citrusy, fizzy and slightly sweet. I cant pick out specific floral notes as they are very well blended, but the vanilla sandalwood dry down is just heaven for a sandalwood lover like me. It is soft and lovely, but for me the sillage is just a little soft, I wish it would project more. I am a serial under-sprayer but with this I have to spritz a good 8-10 sprays on me just to be able to detect it's there. It lasts reasonably well, better on clothes I find. Despite these negatives, this has become my signature, I just can't get enough of it.

Chanel No.5 peeled off its gritty rinds to leave the bellicose aldehydes at a spa relaxing on some high quality neroli essential oil, removed the excess face powder and took the edge off with some iced champagne. What you are left with is Chanel No.5's languid ylang-ylang, an unhurried floral heart and surprisingly even-tempered aldehydes lighting altruistically from within, a broadcast of silky glow over a base of moonlight. Faerie-like and a little melancholic, apparently No.5 had a lesson learned about the mutability of a diva's existence and after atonement she still looks back at her old life wistfully. One of my favorite modern Chanels.

When I compare this with my parfum version then EP has a certain softer tone in it, which in my mind resembles some pink flower but I don't know which one. It's just the smell turned into a (blossom) colour in my head. Also, this version seems to be a big step towards No 5 L'Eau, both of these share the same new pink tone. The airiness of these two Eau's makes me think of them like younger sisters of No 5 but that doesn't necessarily imply the age of the wearer. So far L'Eau and Parfum like the lightest and the strongest have been my favourites. My vintage EDC is still waiting to be worn and smelt.

What a gorgeous perfume this was and what a great shame Chanel felt the urge to reformulate it in 2015. It is delightfully sophisticated and charming. The vanilla in the base gave it an overall effect of being a more youthful version of No.5. It's somewhere between Miss Dior and Chanel No.5. The balance of the floral notes and the aldehydes is just right. Eau Premiere feels soft and pleasant to be around. It's very feminine and a touch romantic rather than sexy. The rose and jasmine notes blend well with a touch of sandalwood in the base as the perfume evolves on the skin.

what can i say that probably hasnt been sed lol.........this is an exquisite perfume !!! from first spray to the dry down is excellent !! and i know the word aldehydic is kinda scary lol - it can very strong in some scents but in this perfume its really beautiful - this scent has a very feminine , classy powdery softness to it............its one of my all time chanel fav's !!! suitable for any age too :) and definitely last a long time but at the same time i dont find it to be a powerhouse scent - but they could make it one & i wouldnt mind lol - it smells that good :)

Oh my God, this beauty! I bet Marilyn Monroe would love this version, it is so fine. The floral notes are very clear, both fresh and powdered by the aldehydes. The base is clean and sweet. Today the summer is back to being hot and sunny and this scent is so fitting. Deep but light, sultry but elegant, more contemporary than the classic, but also with high shine and floral lightness. I do not have the new Premiere to compare. Reapplied after a couple of hours because it was already a skin scent, but not much success. I stopped feeling it on myself.

There are so many versions! This is the third one I tried. The original is the riches in my opinion. It's my signature scent but it's quite heavy too in casual, warm weather situations. The L'Eau version has more citrus notes. I love it during summer. Eau De Premièr would be more appropriate during fall or spring. It's more powdery in a clean way. It's not as fresh and modern as L'Eau and not as sensual and classic as the original. This perfume really falls between those two. I like it! It's a wonderful perfume on it's own.

Well... Somehow the Eau Premiere doesn't feel like Chanel to me. I tried it at the beauty store, got a sample and have been sniffing it but... I don't know, I can't get used to it. I go for the EdP and EdT. Edit: Am I allowed to change my mind "completely"....? God, how could I make such a huge mistake as not to like this! Not because I find the original "unbearable", not at all. But this one's got a unique beauty and class as well, rosier and softer... Can't really choose one over another, they're all wonderful. Chanel...

The lemon chiffon No. 5! Starts off aldehyde-heavy, but fading after 30 minutes or so. There remains the coziest lemon, vanilla, white musk, and neroli close to the skin. Moderately long-lasting (8 hours, maybe more), with light sillage. This is my favorite to overspray, leaving a laundry fresh + vanilla pastry breeze in the room and just enough sillage with 5-6 sprays. I also have a newer bottle and find no difference between the two, except that my older bottle is getting a nail-polish smell, so I'll use it up first.

Fragrantica “notes” are consistent with the scent of Eau Premiere. An accord of Aldehydes (think of soda bubbles & soap) yet more balanced vs. the original No. 5 making it modern), citrusy Neroli and a smooth array of White Florals. After, it mellows down into citrus-white floral-musk combo. One of the best flankers of No 5. A Modern masterpiece and can easily be unisex. I use this solely as my go-to-bed scent as it’s extremely comforting. I honesty over-spray this and I still smell “balanced” - it’s that good.

So I won a bottle and wore it around Christmas and yes I received compliments !!!. It exceeded my expectations especially as it was a blind buy and i'm glad that I took a leap of faith and got it. Now on to the fragrance. If i'm honest I find it so well blended that I find it hard to pick out individual notes which are listed as rose absolute, jasmine, neroli and ylang-ylang. These are some of my most favorite florals and I do own other fragrances with these in them but Eau Premiere is in a class of it's own.

My first encounter with any of Chanel’s N5 was with this version of Eau Premier, at first I was a little hesitant because of the negative reviews that the original gets. I was expecting a bug spray level of powder and floral overload but instead I was greeted with bright and sunny dancing aldehydes that dried down into a sweeter slightly powdery skin scent, it takes to your body and you wear it.. it never wears you! Eau premier has helped muster up the power to try the newer Eau Premier and the original.

That’s what resolute (in a good way) grace with nice manners and a calm, gentle smile would be like, I think, if grace had a scent. Eau Première started out on my skin as nice lemon juice, squeezed out of the lemon a second ago. Gradually it became somewhat sweeter. And then it was gone, its place taken by semitransparent, beautiful jasmine powder, getting to know rose powder, just as beautiful and semitransparent. Then it was sandalwood time, with a drop of vanilla. I enjoyed wearing Eau Première.

I tried new EP in classic square Chanel bottle (and I am fond of original EP in tall bottle). It is obvious that they changed the formula, I found new one definitely stronger, longer lasting. But light and fizzy quality of original EP which turns into lovely ylang ylang/vanilla combination after the dry down has gone. In this formula, I didn't feel any fizzy/citrusy top notes and scent goes into original No:5 formula territory quickly. And I am not fond of Chanel No:5. I will miss original EP.

The elengancia made a perfume .. Classic, cool and perfect to feel unique and leave their scent every step ... With a powerful aldehydes, but nice, not as strong as the original N ° 5 ... Highly recommended Eau Premiere for those they like N°5 but can not tolerate all day ... on the contrary, this fragrance is very easy to use, fine and very distinctive presence .. with a touch that makes you feel fine, classic, friendly and stylish at all times of the day .. very long lasting!

EP Release 2014: Really amazing! I have a big luck with all CHANEL perfumes, they stay forever on my skin. This one as well. Much more similar to the original EDP than the previous vesrion, which i found too cloying and aggresive. The 2014 formula is alluring, warm, woody, powdery with a hint of citrus giving a fresh feel for a whole time. makes me just feel happy and self-confident while wearing it. I ́m thinking about purchasing the whole bottle, though the price is enormous.
