Gabrielle Parfum

Gabrielle Parfum represents the pinnacle of Chanel's Gabrielle line. Launched in 2022 as a more precious and intense interpretation of the 2017 original, Olivier Polge has sought to distill the very essence of "solar bloom". Unlike Eau de Parfum (more sparkling) or Essence (creamier), Parfum is a dense, rich and velvety composition. It is a bouquet of "ideal white flowers", deepened by woody and vanilla notes. Top Notes: Citrus and Red Fruits. The aperture is bright but less sharp than other versions; the sweetness of the red fruits softens the onset. Heart (The 4 White Flowers): Jasmine: Exotic and intense. Ylang-Ylang: Radiant and fruity. Orange Blossom: Fresh and lively. Tuberose from Grasse: Used here in its purest form, it gives an almost buttery creaminess. Base: Sandalwood and Vanilla. These notes give body to the fragrance, guaranteeing a warm trail and notable persistence on the skin. The strong point of this version is Grasse Tuberose. In this particular extraction, Chanel manages to eliminate the more "animal" sides of the flower, maintaining only a sunny brightness. This has Jane Austen written all over it. You're reading one of her many great books, completely captivated by such great literature. This perfume has you wanting more and more. Like the pages of a great novel, it draws you in. You are ELIZABETH BENNET, wanting to be yourself. Wanting no more than to LOVE and be LOVED. Each spray is a “You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on." Mr. Darcy meets CHANEL. This is a field full of flowers, confessing your love in the rain. Love at first sight, in liquid form. It knows neither PRIDE nor to be PREJUDICE. This is ardent admiration and true love. Velvet floral, orange blossom, pages of a romance novel and lots of spice, was my first impression. That later turn into a delicious vanilla and jasmine milk tea with cinnamon and lingering notes of marshmallow, banana and gum... Smells delicious. I’M IN LOVE. The dry down is everlasting, it's a bath tub full of warm milk, fresh flowers, RUM (not too boozy) cinnamon, and gum (juicy fruit) to be exact. I LOVE IT!!! This is one of those perfumes that boosts your confidence and make you feel beautiful. Great for daytime but much more romantic at night. I don't promise you a love like theirs, but I do promise you will smell amazing and very much feel loved. P.S. Mr. Darcy NOT included. BISOUS

I'm surprised at how much I love my little sample of Gabrielle and the dupe of it (Dossier's "Floral Ylang-Ylang" — not listed here on Fragrantica.) I didn't think I cared all that much for tuberose, ylang, or even sandalwood. But both the original and the dupe smell delicious! So sweet, flowery, fruity, warm, and comforting. I just want to keep sniffing my arm. Like the Dossier dupe I have of Marc Jacobs Perfect, the imitator seems more rich, well-rounded, and longer lasting on my skin. The notes for the Dossier version are quite different. They seem to be more in line with the 2017 version of Chanel Gabrielle. TOP: Lily, Grapefruit, Blackberry MIDDLE: Ylang Ylang, Tuberose, Jasmine BASE: Musk, Orange Blossom, Orris Maybe that's why I prefer the duplicate. While I love jasmine and orange blossom, maybe the lily, grapefruit, blackberry, musk, and orris add a lot to the musicality of the fragrance's melody. Anyway, even if I'd never smelled the dupe, I would've loved this pretty fragrance.

Hearing Gabrielle makes me feel like I’m wearing ironed clothes, like it’s early in the morning. When I wear Gabrielle my anxieties disappear. My friend collected two testers at a department store and gave one of them to me. I fell in love with the scent from the very first moment I sprayed it on my skin. Determined to buy a proper size bottle, I discovered the prices and realised that it was an expensive buy. I waited a few months for my tax return and then bought a 30 ml bottle. I could use it every day, yet try to make it last for as long as possible so I alternate it with other scents. It is lasts all day long after just one brief squirt on my neck in the morning. I find the scent to be alluring, transporting and relaxing. I love its unique floral composition which is strong, yet subtle at the same time. Magic!
