Wow! I’ve been reading some of the reviews here and some are extremely harsh and brutal. I suspect it has everything to do with preconceived notions and expectations. However, many here are not even THINKING! When Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel was just a girl, before The House of Chanel came into being or she was called “Coco”, there were no fragrances like this. Women wore soliflores, mostly of rose. Any women caught wearing something like this? They would be labeled as “whores”. So yes, something like this would be “rebellious” if Gabrielle were to have worn it back then. Remember she said, “a woman doesn’t smell like flowers”. She had Ernest Beaux create a composition of the “scent of a woman” freshly bathed with the scent of her powder and cosmetics. This is where Chanel changed the rules in women’s fragrances. Likewise, this is a composition here that smells like what we (one hundred years later) think a good quality triple milled soap smells like. One that would be appropriate for anyone from a teenager on up to an adult of any age to wear daily. Nothing “oh la la, trés sexy”, “tooth-achingly sweet”, no “powdery grandma rose”, “industrial strength astringent cleaner” smell, or anything someone would find offensive unless you over spray it. Just a nice, classy, simple, fresh, semi-sweet, clean fragrance to be worn daily. That’s it. It does smell happy, as some others have said. So each morning it greets me with hope for a sunny, happy day ahead. It can lift your spirits. Btw, a little goes a long way and it does last all day. So, you do get your money’s worth here. If you have dry skin that eats fragrances, I suggest you use Vaseline or unscented lotion/moisturizer. If you’re unsure about white florals, you may want to test before buying. Can be worn year round. I LOVE an everyday fragrance that can do that because I HATE to change my fragrance because it’s either too light to wear in cold weather or too heavy to wear in warm weather. I just like to have other fragrances to change things up a bit from time to time with what I’m doing. For instance, a sweet sandalwood fragrance at the ski lodge and a citrus floral at the beach house. This can go from day into night if going somewhere casual. If more formal, you can easily change your fragrance by layering it with something like N°5 Eau Première. This is a love for me! I think for many, if they were to change their expectations and judge this for what it actually is, rather than for what they were expecting it to be, they would love it too. Not every fragrance made needs to be like something worn to a gala, nor is it appropriate to wear such a fragrance on a daily basis either. We need fragrances like this that are appropriate to wear in our daily lives. Then, when we do go to a gala and wear that type of fragrance, it will put us in the right mood, have us feeling wonderful, and won’t ever feel “ho-hum” because we have become so accustomed to it that we become indifferent to it. Edit: Crazy as it sounds, this can actually start to smell like Chanel N°5 parfum on me. NOT the eau de parfum. The EDP is an olfactory assault on my senses, but the parfum is much nicer, sweeter, and more smooth. I got whiffs of it several times on me and thought, maybe I was crazy? So when a friend hugged me yesterday and said, “Oohhh, you’re wearing your N°5 and it always smells so good on you.” and I was actually wearing this, that confirmed it. Must be the ylang ylang in combination with the aldehydes (I swear, I do smell them here) jasmine, lily of the valley, orange flower, orris, and sandalwood doing that. It’s softer, not as powdery, and a bit fresher, but no denying that it smells like N°5. So, N°5 before there was the House of Chanel? Ok I can see that after experiencing this on my own skin.

I have tested it in a perfume store, This fragrance is very very balanced, when I had smelled it from the top notes to the dry down this perfume is kidnaps me. very pure white roses with blackcurrent and a light amount of citrusy in the top notes, then white flowers with pear and orange blossom catches your attention, after dry down I had smelled on of the most balanced perfumes in my hole life, all ingrediant are mixed very well hence I smelled every ingrediant except pink pepper. I fell in love with this perfume reminds me my favourite perfume pure vibes ever; "Love Story Chloé" with differences between thier DNA and fragrances. In Comparing with "Coco mademoiselle", In my opinion, "Coco mademoiselle" tends to masculine aspect more than aspect feminine, but "Gabrielle Chanel" clean, fresh, Classy, romance, calm, Dreamer, pure and very very feminine, I think this perfume will be in my top 5 perfumes ever, I will buy it as soon as possible. I love it more than "Chanel No.5" maybe beacuse "Chanel No.5" is soapy aldehyde fragrance more than "Gabrielle Chanel" which is more flory pure fresh with sweet fruits and Sandlewoods. If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise that you can blind buy if you interest balanced Calm flory perfumes like; "Love Story Chloé", "My Way Giorgio Armani" and "Rare Gold Avon". This fragrance suitable to wear it during the day, in all seasons, It lasts along on the leather and one day on clothes. جربته في متجر للعطور، هذا العطر متوازن جدًا من النوتات العليا وحتى القاعدة، عندما شممته خطف قلبي على الفور. ورود بيضاء نقية جداً مع الكشمش الأسود ونفحات حمضية خفيفة في النوتات العليا، ثم زهور بيضاء مع الكمثرى وزهر البرتقال تجذب الانتباه. في قاعدة العطر، شممت واحدًا من أكثر العطور توازنًا في حياتي، جميع المكونات ممزوجة بشكل رائع، حيث أني قد شممت كل المكونات باستثناء الفلفل الوردي. لقد وقعت في غرام هذا العطر، فهو يذكرني بأجواء عطري المفضل على الإطلاق؛ "قصة حب من كلوي"، مع وجود اختلافات جوهرية بين كلا العطرين من ناحية البصمة العطرية والروائح لكنه له نفس الأجواء النقية. بالمقارنة مع "كوكو مادموازيل"، برأيي، يميل "كوكو مادموازيل" إلى الطابع الذكوري أكثر من الطابع الأنثوي، بينما "غابرييل شانيل" يتميز بالنظافة والانتعاش والأناقة والرومانسية والهدوء والعالم الحالم والنقاء والأنوثة الفائقة. أعتقد أن هذا العطر سيكون من بين أفضل 5 عطور لديّ على الإطلاق، وسأشتريه في أقرب وقت ممكن. أحببته أكثر من "شانيل رقم 5"، ربما لأن "شانيل رقم 5" يتميز برائحة ألدهيد صابونية بينما "غابرييل شانيل" يتميز برائحة زهرية نقية ومنعشة مع روائح الفواكه الحلوة وخشب الصندل. إذا لم تشمّي هذا العطر من قبل، أنصحكِ بإمكانك شراؤه شراءً أعمى، إذا كنتِ تستمتعين بالعطور الزهرية الهادئة والمتوازنة مثل "لوف ستوري من كلوي" و"ماي واي جورجيو من أرماني" و"رير غولد من أفون". هذا العطر مناسب للاستخدام خلال النهار وفي جميع الفصول، يدوم طويلاً على الجلد وأكثر من يوم واحد على الملابس.

̊˖𓍢ִ໋❀ Gabrielle by Chanel has quickly turned from a fragrance I disconsidered to one I couldn't love more. The difference consisted in the way I tested it. The first time, on a blotter: soapy, screechy, uninteresting. The second time, on skin... It's safe to say that the first impression was not the correct one... If there's one thing I know about Chanel fragrances, is that you should never judge them based on the first minute upon spraying them. In this day and age, when we are so acquainted with modern syrupy-sweet fruity-florals (which, don't get me wrong, I love as well), we tend to categorize gems such as Chanel perfumes in the "old-lady" segment, which is not only an offensive way to disregard a fragrance and to mock a certain age group, but it's also ignorant to the diversity in which fragrance presents itself. There is a reason why this brand has so many perfumes that have not been discontinued over the years, so many perfumes that have kept their commercial success as well as their relevance in the fragrance community. It's because they are timeless. They don't follow a certain trend, but they are the ones which remain iconic as time goes by. Anyways... what I wanted to say when starting that paragraph was that you have to let the fragrance sit on your skin for just a bit before forming an opinion. It shines through only as it mixes with your skin chemistry and warms up with your body heat. That was the case with Gabrielle, which you have to understand, is not a fragrance meant to "blow you away". It's a fragrance meant to envelop you as the first day of spring does, with its relaxed elegance and effortless composure. The combination of citrus and florals is done to a T, and the signature Chanel DNA in the background shines through in possibly the most youthful and, dare I say, most modern way compared to other fragrances from the house. Gabrielle follows you throughout the day: shy and respectful, but not hesitating to brighten your mood when you least expect it. She LASTS, on clothes, and on skin. She makes her presence known, but doesn't beg for your attention. She's likeable, but not a people pleaser. And she is incredibly elegant, not in the way money screams, but in the way wealth whispers. Gabrielle is, in my opinion, a great way to start your Chanel journey. It surely has been for me. It's signature scent worthy, it's great for everyday, and it even receives compliments (talking from personal experience). You can't really go wrong with her, you just have to give her a chance. ̊˖𓍢ִ໋❀

Gabrielle's strengths are also her downfalls. She's almost too well crafted, too floral, too perfectly predictable, too "designer." Chanel took a tried formula--citrus and fruit over white florals, with a woody musk base and just created a perfectly designed (designer? Lol.) scent that is so good it's easy to hate. I mean if you dislike white florals that's fair--you're not going to like this. Gabrielle is so white the fragrance is practically blinding. I know that the top notes are voted heavily as grapefruit but honestly I mostly smell a bright, aldehydic/almost shampooish orange blossom with undertones of citrus rind. The white florals kind of weave on and off my skin in a circle--here's some serious bordering on shrill, high pitched jasmine, here's some rich gardenia, here is a hint of earthy tuberose. I really don't feel the ylang ylang so much but maybe that just lends to the brightness factor of it all. There is petigrain mixed in with the white flowers too, it smells like wood shavings floating in with all those white flowers. Gives everything a little bit of depth, I think. Best of all, over the long woody white floral heart, I smell just a hint of the blackcurrent, and though it's faint, it lasts for ages--perfectly tart berries with zero sugar, the best kind of "floral fruity." I really like the drydown--the sandalwood and cashmerean really meld together, and the sandalwood smells...really solid. Not javenol, not laminate floor sandalwood, but whatever they are using is smells like real sandalwood. The white florals are still there but instead of smelling like anything individual it smells like white flower petals on sandalwood, cashmeran, and hint of musk, which is a lovely way to end things. Gabrielle has fantastic lasting power on me, all day long most days, and I wouldn't dare to spray too much because the sillage can be a bit much. So that part is well made too--a days worth of perfume out of a few sprays is almost rare in my book.

So, there's "Hermes does grapefruit" and then there's "Chanel does grapefruit" and apparently, they're the same grapefruit... Like, I'm honestly taken aback by how closely this resembles Jour d' Hermes. Yes, I saw others making comparisons between the two but I'm here in the reviews to say that if you own one you absolutely DO NOT need the other! They are redundant. They both revolve around a brisk and astringent grapefruit accord, hesperidic if you're fancy. And I have smelled many a grapefruit fragrance in my time- these two brands have come to the same exact conclusion about what grapefruit should smell like. I will say that I love them both, and that they are polarizing as grapefruit scents can be without being nearly as polarizing as Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria grapefruit. That one is straight up pissy in that ammonia-laden way that so many grapefruit and black currant fragrances tend to be. You won't find that challenging aspect here in Gabrielle, though I will say Jour d' Hermes smells clearer and more luminous, with Gabrielle carrying a bit more grit and earth by contast. It's almost like the Hermes is the cologne version of Gabrielle. The Chanel has a backbone while the Hermes is a light-filled silhouette. That's me being granular about it though, for all intents and purposes, they are similar enough to be reformulations of each other. I cannot fathom wanting one but not the other.

I got a miniature of Jour d'Hermes (and poured it into a spray bottle) just so I could compare it to Gabrielle, which I love, with the hope that Jour would be similar enough for me to buy instead of the much more expensive Gabrielle. Well, they're not at all similar to me, and my nose is really not that refined. The opening of Jour smells *almost* like Gabrielle for maybe half a second, then goes immediately to creamy floral zone. The reason I love Gabrielle is that citrus explosion, that bitter and obnoxious grapefruit that's present throughout the entire wear-time. I don't get that in Jour. Jour is instead creamy-dreamy, elegant and tasteful. It might seem like I'm praising Jour, but I really much prefer Gabrielle. I love a bit of sass in my fragrances, something that will make me go "oh god, this is terrible, I LOVE it!". Gabrielle has just that. In comparison, Jour is almost too bland, too "correct", too appealing. It's loved by everybody, but lacks character. I'm not saying that Gabrielle isn't elegant, it definitely is, but it has just that something that hints at the mischievous character of the wearer. It's almost like that saying- "lady in the streets, freak in the sheets". Gabrielle likes a bit of kink, Jour only ever does the missionary.

Ohhh I can't choose between buying Gabrielle or Gabrielle Essence for spring. Gabrielle to me is fresh juicy floral, Essence to me is a round warm floral. In Gabrielle I smell the different notes, in Essence they are more blended together. I usually choose a fresher perfume over a sweeter one but with this perfume I just dont know which one to get. Will use up both my testers and make a choice. I definitely enjoy the sunny opening of Essence more. Lets see how it dries down. Update after 1 hour: somehow in the drydown Gabrielle gets more round floral and fruitier. The florals and warmth in Essence seem to disappear a bit on my skin and it turns into a more of a sandelwood fragrance. After 2 hours: Gabrielle turned into a pleasant soft fresh fruity floral and has become rounder than in the official first spray. I smell pear and jasmine Essence has got its initial warth back on my skin and the peach and ylang ylang have become more prominent. I love both but the Essence is so dreamy, sunny and warm! I think this is the winner!

Ladies, gents, please: stop rating perfumes before you've tested them ;) It's pointless and deceitful, and this site is supposed to be about giving people an honest, helpful opinion. Hysteria aside, this fragrance is quite lovely, and marks a surprising departure for Chanel. I'd say it's in the same league of sunny, modern florals like Jour d'Hermes and Florabotanica, but with a nice overripe fruity twist, on an abstract green woody background. Basically, it's got both tropical warmth and french chic, which is what most ladies love in their classy florals. What really surprises me about this fragrance is it's unexpected quotation of rich green-citrus fruity fragrances from the nineties like Eden and Ça Sent Beau by Kenzo, especially in the top notes! So give it a good, honest try, and try to detach yourself from the whole Chanel mythos. Everyone complains that the fashion industry never tries anything new: why oppose when it does? (4/5 citrusy tuberose)

Absolutely beautiful white floral. Solar, bright, warm, creamy. I do not get all the hate about this fragrance. ALL Youtubers say the worst things imaginable about Gabrielle. But really, it is a nice, classy fragrance with a hint of vintage Chanel perfume, but so well projected into the modern world. Very versatile. Ether you are a lady-boss or a house-wife, young girl or experienced woman - you can rock Gabrielle day and night. Absolutely GOOD for a signature scent. The essense version is nice too, but it is a bit more fresh and floral. The original Gabrielle is more mature, "creamy", with a pinch of Chanel`s classic bitter grapefruit. I prefer Gabrielle over Essence. The longevity is very good for today`s Chanel perfumes. It lasts for fair 4-6 hours and elevates so well for the first 2. By the way, Gabrielle is the one and only white floral I actually love. Beautiful, beautiful fragrance. So sophisticated and calm.

I don’t understand the hate for this at all. The moment I smelled it, I felt it was a classic, on the same level as Chance and Coco Mademoiselle. Did we need a new fragrance like this? Maybe not, we already have a lot of Chanel classics, but I love the variety. Gabrielle reminds me a lot of Chance- but while Chance leans slightly masculine and woody, this one is softer, more traditionally feminine-floral, and soapy. It dries down to a beautiful white musk on my skin. I feel like I could wear Chance one day and Gabrielle the next, depending on my mood, and they transition very well with each other. It’s a timeless kind of scent. It’s not trying to be niche and it’s not trying to push the envelope in originality. It’s paying homage to classic Chanel, and doing it very very well for a new fragrance. And for that achievement I applaud the creator for this.

When Gabrielle was released in 2017 I tested it from a sample I got. I wasn't too impressed. Made me think of Jour d'Hermes in the drydown too much. Jour for me was too creamy. So I let it go and didn't think much about it. Only a couple months later I tried Gabrielle again and as to my surprise is was sooooo good. Not too sweet, very different, chic and getting away from the Coco Mad, Poison, LVEB sweetness. I love mostly all the Chanels. Not so fond of gourmands and too sweet vanillic fragrances. This drydown is incredible: so musky and feminine, on the fresh side and so delicate. Yet it has a warm side in the drydown and not too sweet. I finshed my 50ml bottle and got a 100 ml one for xmas last year. Really one of my all time favourite scents that gets me a lot of compliments. It’s perfect for this spring season but I wear it year round! A big love.

This is soft and beautiful. All the notes I love like jasmine, tuberose, lily of the valley, and orange blossom. Like literally I told the Chanel SA my favorite notes and he recommended this and hit a home run. It is pretty citrusy at initial spray but dries down into all the lovely sweet, white florals I love. My only complaint is that after a few hours it becomes more of a skin scent on me. I just doesnt last more than a few hours. But those first few hours are pure heaven. This is your rich aunty who is always dressed elegantly, its quiet luxury, its a crisp white button up with a pencil skirt and a structured handbag. I would consider this one of my signature scents but I just dont wear it often enough because it doesnt last very long. I love to layer this one with a vanilla scent to add some creaminess and extend the life of it.

Just lovey with a bright juicy burst of fruity notes of grapefruit and orange that is a perfect scent for spring and summer. Not sure why so many others seem to dislike this perfume. I love it, it's so classy and rich in scent that projects nicely and last all day long. The heart with its floral notes are so pretty and quite alluring, with the classic Chanel dry down. I feel it a pretty, sexy, warm feminine scent that one would expect from the House of Chanel. Ideal for day or at night wear, while relaxing in jeans or dressing up for a date. Approved by my husband, friends and myself. I will buy again for it's really good. I really enjoy when I'am walking and the winds blows whiffs of the scent to my nose very intoxicating. Leaves a lovely trail for others to enjoy.

I love Gabrielle. It’s sophisticated, woman getting something done energy. Musky with white florals, personally I don’t get the citrus top notes listed. I like the original Gabrielle more than essence (I own the OG, and I’ve used it for years) because it smells lighter. They both open the same but Essence settles into a heavier, archetypal Chanel sort of smell (leaning towards No.5) while the original Gabrielle smells younger and more fresh and floral forward which I love. I think it depends on your personal preference which version you prefer, but this is one of my signature scents forever. Sillage is great, not too much but enough projection, and it lasts all day and during the winter it lingers on my clothes days after. Extremely worth it!

I recently finally bought Gabrielle and Im in love. Its a perfume that will be a classic in some time. Its a great work of art. I feel comfortable, cosy, safe with the scent. It matches my skin so well! All harsh edges that scream on my skin with Coco Mademoiselle are part of the past. Gabrielle is round. No harsh edges. Its smooth. Its like Sade’s voice. I never felt so myself with a perfume as how I feel with Gabrielle. Its like it was made for me. The drydown comes very fast and its a very intimate perfume. No sillage. I dont think I’ll ever stop wearing this, but I do reapply often. Lucky I bought the Twist and Spray bottle that is supposed to be carried everywhere. Its a plus the golden package is so beautiful. Suits the juice inside.

I just love it. Gabrielle might be a boring perfume for the edgier woman out there but hey... sometimes it's ok to just smell clean and nice, don't you think? For those days when you don't want to think much about how to wear in your big humongous perfume closet just grab this and be happy. This scent is lovely if you want to smell clean, sophisticated, and fresh. Gabrielle might be soapy, in an expensive way. I see myself using this on vacation at the beach, for a night out, for dinner, at the office you name it, this is definitively a good safe perfume. Some say it is sweet. well, no I don't catch any sweetness, on me it is woody and citrus.. of course, white flowery... A Ladylike comfortable woman ready to enjoy life.

I’m baffled by the number of negative reviews on this fragrance. It’s so underrated! I question whether people who claim that it doesn’t have the Chanel DNA or that it doesn’t last long, gave it a proper test. Sure it’s delicate, but it does last all day. Frankly, should one always need to leave a trail behind and make everyone around overwhelmed with their perfume? Not in most life situations. Gabrielle is a light citrusy fragrance topped up with subtle white flowers, so well blended and no question, it does give the Chanel vibe. It will make you feel liberated - at least that’s how I feel when I wear it 💛

Update: So today I bought my bottle I think this could be my favourite fragrance out of the whole of my collection it so uplifting and I seem to love it more than when I tried my first sample a few days ago I think I may have found my new signature . I don’t think I’ve been so drawn to a fragrance like I have this, the smell just makes me 😊 it’s like a blast of happiness without being too overpowering (Bare in mind I do usually like strong scents) This is just so different to what I thought I liked. After a minute 12 hours of owning the bottle I can say this fragrance will be the one I reach for the most

The perfect white flower perfume. Classy but still interesting, delicate but different. I don’t understand people who think this is boring when the blending and longevity is outstanding. Yes, it’s mass-appealing and office friendly, but it’s not unoriginal or underwhelming (unlike certain white flower scents such as Prada Paradoxe, which is the most basic perfume I ever smelled). The opening is fizzy and sparkling, and the dry down smells like Lily of The Valley and black currant, with a warmth like sun rays. It has depth, but the brightness makes me feel liberated and happy. A 10/10!

My current obsession. Starts out with glaring aldehydes and bright sparkly white musk I think if diamonds had a scent it would be this. Dries down eventually to a plush velvety soft scent. The dry down is less dramatic but more romantic and my favorite part. (The top notes are kind of a cold beauty) I took awhile to warm up to Gabrielle because it seemed too sheer... But something kept pulling me back and once my samples were out I didn't last a week and got the bottle which is a welcome addition to my vanity very pretty. I am hooked. Layers well with simple fruity florals imo also

one of the best perfumes i've used, shocked i wasn't introduced to it earlier! this perfume might start making me actually enjoy floral noted fragrances, haha. surprisingly, quite strong, but not overwhelming. the notes are amazing too, the pear, blackcurrant, tuberose and musk really stood out to me though? like they are very... very strong compared to the rest of them. love this scent though, very very cute. wish i got a bigger bottle though, i only have a small tester bottle.. recommended for people who enjoy fruity & floral fragrances, Gabrielle is the perfect mix of the two.

Gabrielle is clutch. She is my "serious" perfume that I wear for work, formal events, or any time I need to feel professional but still retain my fairy-soul interior. Gabrielle gives confidence and power while respecting the need for feminine expression. She's poised and ready to get the job done, from court room to board meeting, but the wearer knows that her true essence is sitting in the sand on a private beach, champagne in one hand, $50k cash in the other with glitter and magic beaming smartly from playful eyes and freshly tousled hair.

So... I can ́t stick with one perfume for a longer time. I just can ́t. And somehow, finally, I am coming back to this one, and the essence. I like the sharpness in this one, the citrusy opening. After one or two hours, it just smells classy, fresh, and youthful at the same time. Honestly, I am happy that this has so bad rating, because I don ́t smell so many others with it. I like to have both this and essence, depending on the weather and my mood. Essence is deeper and last longer, so I would assume this one fits better for warmer weather.

Love at first sniff! This was the few of the Chanels, that spoke to me. I can't describe it. I love all the listed notes, so I am lucky that they met in one perfume. There is a mild resemblance with Dior J'adore. Gabrielle Essence is more Dior J'adore. What I don't like, is the projection and the longevity. I barely feel it, so I sprayed more and more... and now I've got a headache 😕 WHY ??? Anyway. I find the perfume very elegant and feminine. I think it is suitable even for younger ladies. If you are in your 20-s, you can wear it boldly.

I loved it instantly the first time I brought it to my nose. The citrus and white flowers are so alluring and elegant, and the drydown is even more so. Earthy, graceful, comforting, and just a tad animalic. Gabrielle is an angel with a bit of wickedness in her. The prim and proper lady at the table who is secretly an animal in the sheets. Gabrielle is the classic and modern woman in one. You've done something right here, Chanel.

This has been my signature work and academic scent since 2018, and it only has received maybe 3 compliments. However, I absolutely LOVE it on other people and I almost don’t recognize it on them. And even though I hate lily! It smells graceful and sophisticated, with a playful crispness in the top notes. I still love it. Matter of personal taste, I guess! Not the most intense sillage, but smells pretty strong to the wearer.

I managed to get a small sample of this before Xmas and just today I reached for it and if I’m honest I was not expecting much purely based on the notes . The moment I sprayed it My opinion was “ hmmm mehhh” but about ten seconds later I got a beautiful bright fresh and slightly boozy vibe, and the longer it was on my skin I liked it more and more . Wil definitely be buying a full bottle in the next few days !

Gabrielle, why have I never been tempted to get a sample of you until now? Love at first sniff! Why? Because of the sexy interplay of ylang ylang, something citrus, tuberose, musk and sandalwood. This fragrance is a perfect fit for the professional woman who wants to be taken seriously but not at the expense of her femininity. That's the mental picture I have with every well blended sniff.

This is a lovely floral with a classy Chanel dry down of powder. The opening is definetly reminiscent of J'adore but it quickly turns into a Coco Mademoiselle - sans patchouli. On my skin I mostly get the Coco mademoiselle vibe until the very end where it turns into a powdery skin scent very much like No 5. So if you like Coco and No 5- this is a great rendition of those two. I love it !

This is a mature fragrance but in a very warm and motherly way. It's oddly comforting and makes me feel like a young child again, being picked up and hugged by my mom when she'd get off from work. I absolutely love Gabrielle and when I reach my 40s/50s, I'd definitely pick up a bottle or something similar as it doesn't fit with my current taste in my 20s

Very nice and I like it more than Essence. Essence is better for a night time, lovely too. But Gabrielle EDT is perfect, light, clean and very complex. Smells expensive though cheaper than Creed or Muguet Guerlain. Not a strictly floral but in a nice company with citruses for a summer, pleasant smell. It has a good silage and lasts ... like all Chanel.

No wonder Margot Robbie is the face of this perfume! Let alone the beautiful bottle, but this fragrance is just so sophisticated and feminine - there are only few women who'd be able to actually pull it off. If youre done with being the girlfriend and want to become the classic wifey material. Go for this baby or the coco mademoiselle one. xx

I got this fragrance simply because of my name being Gabrielle. I figured even if I didn’t like it, I want it in my collection. But I was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely different and not a safe blind buy, but on my skin it is beautiful. Definitely a warm cozy winter fragrance. I get mostly the Jasmine here and it’s beautifully done.

I have been wearing this off and on since it’s release and I’ve gone from indifference to ambivalence to absolute adoration. I think I was anosmic to some of its depth before; I think a lot of people may be. It is both rich and light, sweet and earthy, elegant and relaxed. It’s gorgeous.

A clean-cut, crisp, fresh white floral with tart grapefruit and ylang, on a woody/musky base. Reminds me of J'adore, but moreso a very tailored and slightly more austere version. Very Chanel in that sense. Perfect for spring and summer, good sillage, lasts around 5/6 hrs on me.

this is not a fragrange family i usualy gravitate towards especially nowadays however every time i do revisit this i find it to bring a smile to my miserable face this is inoffensive fruity and very classy and very workwear worthy i do have a more in depth review way back

I can wear this anytime and I feel sophisticated, classy, and confident. Sometimes I don’t want to punch people in the face with my perfume. I reach for this. Because I LOVE Chanel. And I want that hint of Chanel DNA without being loud about it. This is a daily for me.

Worth the price tag because even wearing it makes you feel Expensive ✨ It’s clean white florals with elegant citrus. Amazinggg for all occasions. Margot Robbie wears this one and this perfume is so elegant and timeless like her *sigh*

Such a classic, timeless, elegant yet simple perfume! The Chanel dna is chefs kiss! It smells clean, a little soapy, floral, citrus, mildly sweet. It’s a freshie, squeaky clean beautiful scent that’s easy to wear for any time!

i am in love! it is golden, warm, powdery, solar, sophisticated, it was not like anything i smelled before. it lasts beautifully on me, i could still smell it after a shower.

Timeless scent well suited for any occasion

I should start by saying that my name is Gabrielle, so I thought it was cool that there was a perfume with my name on it and wanted a bottle no matter what it smelled like. I first saw this as a commercial with Kristen Stewart. I was still obsessed with Twilight at this point (age 26), so I was interested in smelling the perfume if I came across it. I think I first smelled this at a counter in Macy's or JC Penney at the mall. I remember liking it, but I also remember it not being my favorite. Skipping forward a few years, my mom bought a cheap knockoff rollerball version of this from Amazon, and I used it frequently. I liked the way it smelled, even though it had that Chanel DNA I hated from No. 5 (disclaimer: the last time I smelled No. 5, I was a teenager. So I think that if I smelled it now in my thirties, I might like it more). My mom came to visit recently and I was in the market for a new perfume because I had just been using Bath & Body Works mists for a while and wanted something more professional and expensive and... adult. We went to a fragrance store and I tested probably about 10 perfumes based on research I had done on Fragrantica - including Versace's "Bright Crystal" and Dior's "J'adore." Both were very pretty but I couldn't justify the price. I asked if they had Coco Mademoiselle and Gabrielle, which were both on my list, but unfortunately they didn't have testers of either. I knew a lot of people liked Mademoiselle but I didn't want to blind buy it without knowing what it smelled like, especially knowing I didn't like No. 5 as a youth. My husband convinced me to "blind" buy Gabrielle for the sole reason that it had my name on it and that I enjoyed it in the rollerball, so I bought the 35 mL bottle for around $90. First spray smells like grapefruit but quickly changes to a musky floral. I can barely smell the black currant, which is good because even though I have never smelled real black currant before (since we don't grow it in the US anymore due to fungus), I read that it can have an ammoniac quality. Once that goes away, it becomes the white and yellow floral that it is advertised to be. I have never smelled each flower individually, so I couldn't tell you which flower is the strongest. I also kind of get the "pink pepper" note here, even though it isn't listed as a note on the official site. Hours later, you can still smell the musk and sandalwood, but mostly just a skin smell. To me, it's missing something. I feel like it's on the doorstep of a more fruity, sweet scent but refuses to knock on the door. Maybe that is what Gabrielle Essence is, but I won't know until I am able to test it. I do wish the atomizer sprayed less or the bottle had a glass stopper because even though I like wearing it, too much liquid comes out of the bottle. I would rather not waste such a luxurious fragrance to evaporating and dissipating into the air around me. I also don't want a whole spray to go to one wrist, when I can use the same amount of perfume by dabbing it on my wrists, crook of my elbows, collarbones, and behind my ears. I know you're not "supposed" to rub your wrists together because it affects the notes so I would have to spray more - which makes me feel like I'm dousing myself in it and it becomes too strong. Unfortunately, Chanel stopped selling perfumes in bottles with glass stoppers and I don't want to damage the atomizer by attempting to remove it.

I’ve had this fragrance for years now and I’ve barely used it. It’s not that I don’t like it but for me, this only blooms in spring/summer and there’s something in this that is a bit screechy for me. BUT, there’s times when I put this on and I love it. It’s like it’s growing on me but then I forget it and we start all over again. It’s kind of soapy, clean, fresh with added white flowers. I don’t think the younger audience would like this. This to me is an elegant woman with pretty hair, her nails are well manicured, and she wear clothes that she has picked out very carefully but makes it look effortless. She smells clean, and elegant and is a very nice person. On me this lasts and projects quite well, nothing to complain there. I love the bottle, it’s simple and pretty. I need to recommend a layering combo that just lifts this perfume for me to the next level. I found it by accident today when I had Juicy Couture Viva La juicy on (I know this is the opposite of the spectrum lol) and I got the impulse to just spray some Gabrielle on top. And wow, it’s magic. VLJ gives it a bit of sweetness and rounds it out a little. The combination makes me happy, it’s uplifting. I think of a sunny, spring day when you feel the first rays of sun warm your skin and it’s a bit too hot to wear a jacket. That kind of happiness. I did sprinkle a little bit of Solinotes Vanille on top but it’s not necessary, I just love vanilla. This combo will be my go to this spring and summer. I’m totally obsessed and can’t stop sniffing my arm. If you have these fragrances, try it and thank me later :)

I purchased a tester bottle of this, and maybe I am compelled to write a review mostly because of all the hate this fragrance (along with Joy by Dior) gets. I truly don't understand why so many people dislike this. It is always funny reading how many reviews are based purely on expectations. Can you really say that a fragrance is bad only because it did not meet your expectations? Plus, it is so bizarre to me that fragrances like La Vie Est Belle which has now 19 flankers always get incredible reviews, yet a new original creation gets all the hate. Gabrielle reminds me of my best friend, who adores this fragrance. She is a very positive, simple, beautiful person. In Italy we have a saying "acqua e sapone", which translates to Soap and Water, used to describe a person who is very natural, no make up, girl next door kind of. The ad for this fragrance is beautiful, Kristen Stewart is perfect for it. The bottle is very simple and linear too. Just because this is not obnoxious and loud, it doesn't mean this is bad or not enjoyable. Just like Joy, this is extremely appropriate for any occasion, from work, to a brunch, to a wedding. Opens with a fresh blast of citrus, and in the middle It has that soft Chanel DNA, very classy and beautiful, and a blend of white flowers. I really think this is a very beautiful and elegant fragrance. Unfortunately, on my skin it doesn't last long, and on my clothes either. Still, a very pretty fragrance.

I've received this as a gift and I'm not sure why I haven't parted ways with it yet. It's an inoffensive, well-blended, fresh and pleasant perfume. It evokes spring for me, striking a balance between citrusy freshness and a fruity and flowery accord that isn't too sweet or cloying nor, well, overly interesting to be honest. Doesn't cause any fireworks or intrigue. Many people mentioned it belonging to a well put together woman, kinda CEO vibes, but to me it's more of a girly scent, something that maybe a teen would get as her first "grown up" perfume. The teen in my imagination does really well in school, has a pearl necklace for special occasions and doesn't swear. All that being said, I think we might judge Gabrielle a bit too harshly here: what she does, she does well. She's fresh, pleasant, inoffensive and pretty universal. She performs well, is office-friendly and really does evoke that put-together feel. Nobody will accuse you of choking up a room when wearing Gabrielle and I'm sure there are lots of people who genuinely love her. I may not be one of them and yet I seem to cling to my old bottle for some reason, despite it not fitting into my perfume tastes nor suiting my looks/overall vibe as a fragrance in general. Performance-wise it offers ca 4h longevity and intimate to moderate sillage on my skin.

I'm not very good with distinguishing notes, but it's a very enjoyable fragrance if you typically stick to linear, skin-like, clean, fresh fragrances. I have been looking for something a bit warmer than my citrus aquatics that I wear in summer/spring, this is definitely warmer. I really liked it, safe, inoffensive, but yet with an identifiable 'scent'. It doesn't just 'smell nice', it definitely smells like you're wearing a perfume. It is flowery, but different to white florals, the yellow florals are almost sweet and warm. It has a lovely underlying sweetness to it, not nearly gourmand which I am appreciative of. Very nicely balanced overall, you get the feeling of each of the major note categories listed with this fragrance, one doesn't necessarily overpower the other. It feels appropriate for a young woman who wants something soft but noticeable for those close by. Thankfully, It does not smell like an old person or even an exclusively mature fragrance (I'm twenty and it seems like everything I've tried is suited for late twenties+). I would definitely wear this, and would like to purchase it, but it is not quite what I am looking for right now. I see it is rated quite specifically for daytime fall, and I have to agree, it feels crisp and clean like spring but with the warmth you want into autumn.
