This is fantastic stuff - I'm probably a little late to the discussion, given that it has been available for almost 4 years now. But I only recently had the chance to try this gem, which really deserves all the praise it has received. This fragrance has that rarest quality that so many of us seek - a sense of timelessness. It doesn't smell dated per se, but one can't help but notice the references to legendary chypres of the past - Mitsouko, 31 Rue Cambon, Bel Ami. This is classic in the best sense of the word; it feels sturdy and durable, but also refined. And as others have noted, this fragrance is multifaceted and really evolves over time. It opens with that alcoholic lime note, but quickly transitions into a sort of dirty floral/herbal concoction focused on the interplay between the patchouli, the cloves, and the myrrh. Over the course of a couple hours, the scent becomes increasingly centered on that beautiful dry leather note in the base. I'm ultimately reminded of a really well-worn leather bomber jacket, which has been lovingly used over the course of a decade or so by a old-school gentleman who never leaves the house without product in his hair. Beautiful work.

This is pretty brilliant stuff and the man behind the fragrance is extremely passionate about the story that is told by the scent and by the memories of all of us who have passed down this street fraught with history, joy, terror and an unquenchable thirst for freedom. For me it's sort of a chypre for a few seconds and then it starts smelling funky like human bodies in close quarters. I swear I even get a whiff of amyl nitrate which was a mainstay along this boulevard back in the day. It is not perversely dirty like some recent fragrances because there is enough intricacy in the heart to keep things moving along, there is an intellectual side to the heart, a very well-crafted mix of spices that dance in parallel to the cumin/sweat accord. The drydown is all musk and patchouli and happy days, life-affirming in a quiet but persistent fashion.

WOW!!! Drool worthy scent! This is one of the rare occasions for me where a lot of the reviews really gel to accurately paint this beautiful creation! Especially Freewheelingvagabonds review. So, yeah, for me Gin, a touch cucumber, bright tart dazzling lime over the top of sweet candied lime. The notes are there, the leather a mere subtle base on which it all lays. Gorgeously refreshing and a stonker. I just received a sample and applied a dab from the wand and it keeps smashing me in the face (in the best possible way!). So I just placed an order for a full bottle. It’s like Davidoff Cool Water meets Bruno Fazzolari Five Eau (maybe Acqua Di Parma Colonia Club too minus the mint). Sublime, signiature worthy. The new way to do old school.

This really is a unique, fantastic scent. It's one of my favorites. If not for the double-edged sword of its transformation, it would rank even higher. I appreciate the twist from weird/urban/edgy to calm/mossy/classic very much; It was a genuine wonder the first day I wore it! But I guess I largely prefer my scents to be more linear than this, ultimately. I don't want to try and predict if the mood will work for the second part of my day, every time I wear it. This isn't always a problem, but the shift here is so significant. To be clear, I love this stuff and will buy another bottle when this one is gone. But from this house I think I get more use from Asphalt Rainbow, which captures a similar initial overall vibe and sticks with it.

This is masterfully blended stuff will leave you incapable of deciding whether it's a classic or not. It screams classic but yet very modern. Definitely not that regular scent that you usually come across here and there. Not for the average nose as well. I was shocked when I first smelled it. Is there a fragrance that smells like that? I wondered. Super glad that I, by coincidence, got it in my collection.
