Inspiration

23. August 2021 Review for the new and boxed full bottle of "Inspiration" by Charles Jourdan based on skin wear test. Well, what do you know, this sweet little bottle (20mls) has actually one hell of a good fragrance inside. To be honest, i bought it years ago but it was lost within hundreds of my other bottles and i never got a chance to try it, and older reviews did not sound nice (one review which is not visible anymore said it smells like a goat (WTF???!!)), so i was not bothered. Until today, when i was sorting out some boxes and found it and decided to try it on. What a pleasant surprise! Floral-fruity surprise! I was afraid, that violet would be very dominant in this composition, since i do not like violets in perfumes at all, but it turned out, that it is more of the Jasmine-orange combo with addition of the rose (i bet there are more notes to that composition, than listed), and almost no violet. At least in the opening and middle stage. But what i really like is that orange note is so juicy and cheerful, yet not overly synthetic, like it happens sometimes. It ́s clearly a 90 ́s baby, with it ́s floral-fruity composition and i honestly like it. What i also like is that it is still quite accessible online for purchase for a fair price. I guess back in the day it was considered a drugstore fragrance, sold in supermarkets as well probably (along with others Muehlens ́ creations), and it feels a bit like that, yet not in a bad way. No bad feelings about it, just a smile and good emotion. If you feel nostalgic, then grab a bottle, it will not hurt you wallet (at least as i am writing it) and wear it and enjoy. It has a quite good projection (one spray is quite enough, 2 will follow you everywhere, and quite decent lasting power. I would frankly wear it during warm summer nights, i bet it would smell fantastic then. Cannot wait to try it next summer.

Skin test, cool autumn day. Citrus opening, I thought nectarine, it's definately NOT like a 2015+ citrus, smells a little like yesterday year, it's rounded and has the rounded slightly powdery slightly Chanel esk Lancome esk floral of their older scents, I also got a bit of a mossy or subtle potpourri background which was also slightly warm which I don't like - the scent is alright, overall though. There a make up vibe, lipstick vibe within the scent, it doesn't stay citrus or fruity. I want to point out what this isn't: Not fresh like todays scents, today's scents are more airy. This has a nice sillage though. Not a floral like today either - not realistic (flowery, rosey), freshie etc.. Not rose fresh.. So how can I explain what I'm smelling if these type of scents aren't available mainstream? Well, the fruit aspect you could liken to a mild, not tart sort of powdered sugar coated candy peel.. You know in masculine scents if there's 'floral' notes, you don't smell actual flowers? The florals here are like that, they make up a note which isn't (and doesn't have to be) distinctly anything. The powdery feel is a bit make up like. It's gentle overall, not offensive, some people could think it's a little vintage, I don't feel it is, though nor is it modern. (I sampled other scents today that were distinctly vintage) Instinct has lasted half an hour and seems to be in its middle phase now

After reading the reviews I was keen on the mandarin jasmine but in the UK it was quite a harsh citrus peel and some masculine mustiness so I gave it to my mom to wear in Canada. I am there now in the humid summer of the subtropical rainforest of the west coast and the scent is gorgeous -a full womanly jasmine cloud of dense summer sunset goodness that I have been wearing constantly. I don't know how the scent will react here on colder days but if it continues to play the same notes it would be very comforting in winter.

Sunshine in a bottle! 🌞 It has such a unique scent. The violet and rose give it a slightly vintage touch, yet it still feels modern. The sharpness of orange peel and jasmine adds a beautiful vibe. Overall, it’s a lovely fruity-floral fragrance. عطر نوستالژیک با بوی بنفشه و پرتغال. واقعا جذابه

I enjoyed this. The orange note is sweet and very prominent. This is an intensely sweet floral suitable for evening wear in the summer with good staying power.No goat in sight but beware-one spray is probably enough.

I don't smell any of the notes. It just smells like Jovan musk oil and musk isn't even listed in the notes. Nothing special but good for when you want something light and simple.
