Uninhibited

Cher is a true Goddess with a capped 'G'. I almost wish I had never whiffed this. It’s not a smell. It's a spell! THE one and only, Cher. Sure enough, leave it Only to Cher to sign such a knock-out, sultry, rich, beautiful and unusual fragrance as this. I cannot think of a celeb fragrance that embodies the aura and personality of the star behind it better than Cher's Uninhibited. I am also at a loss to think of anything at all to compare it to. Absolutely nothing, which is wonderful. It is unique. Like Cher, it is wonderfully fizzy and sparkling, not bubbly cute but effervescent. This is a deep, punchy, serious, sexy fragrance which comes as no surprise. Deep and lovely as her voice but not quite dark, this blend has a sparkling depth to it like Cher herself and is complex enough to make it hard to describe. Oddly, her raucous rough side is not apparent in this fragrance at all. It is entirely classy with a demure quality even, and intensely rich. Initial spritz is a dark, sweet cola as powerful as her personality and voice, and like her voice, the overall feel of Uninhibited is more like a sound; a deep alto vibrato. Laced with and softened by a hint of fine quality vanilla, exquisite florals and delectable sandalwood, but not woodsy enough (to me) to be listed as a prominent note. The vanilla here is unlike anything manufactured in modern perfumery. It smells like the pure extract and does not overwhelm; masterfully blended, but not a food-y vanilla. Unburnt vanilla tobacco but much better. It seems present only to smooth and round which it does beautifully. Cola, maybe a root beer float with vanilla ice cream, or even Dr. Pepper which Cher has stated is/was her favorite drink. Coincidence? Hmm... I hope not, as I find that rather cool and very ‘Cher’ to think up such a thing, though Uninhibited is hardly gourmand. A reviewer below mentioned rum and cola but I smell a darker bourbon sort of booziness. Imagine the smell of that with a very vanilla tobacco near, punch it up with some honeyed sandalwood and there you have it. Almost. So, we have the best of florals for sweetness, fresh vetiver, add the citrus for a sweet and sour sparkling cola twang, smoky vanilla anchored in woods with aldehydes, and something mysterious, and magically extraordinary happens. It's called Cher Uninhibited. Exceedingly classy and refined, I suspect this scent was strategically concocted to compliment leather, silk, fur, denim, feathers, jewels; a myriad of textiles and bling as vast as her wardrobe; a genius move if that was the intent. If so, it works. As we question whether celebs wear their own scents, I can "Believe" Cher actually adores and wears this fragrance unless her taste has changed. She has allegedly stated the blend is a mix of Charles of The Ritz and Laporte's Vanille and I discern a strong hint of COTR somewhere with a brilliant tweak that makes it NOT smell like COTR at all, and this is an oriental perfume if ever. Category listing is incorrect to me. I compared this scent on my skin with oriental likenesses - Opium, Raffinee, Youth Dew, Tabu, Toujour Moi, Obsession. All paled in comparison; too spicy, too dark, not fabulous enough, and poor CK Obsession smelled of vile, cheap dirt next to it. I loathe it since comparing and my Lovely Liz Taylor powerhouses now smell more dated than ever. Tabu and Raffinee came somewhat into range as a base smell only. Spice and incense overwhelmed in those also. None came close to anything like Uninhibited which took the crown above all (and most others of all categories in my wardrobe.) Sparkling, strong but soft with a sweet side; sexy, sassy, strong, confident, over-the-top (but not really), divinely gorgeous, lovable and warm as Cher herself, beautifully uncommon. Rare. This IS the very essence of Cher in a bottle and well worth the ridiculous asking price... and my love for Uninhibited makes me think of her famous slapping of Nicholas Cage in 'Moonstruck' yelling "Snap out of it!" while softly singing “I Got You, Babe” in the background with her famous tongue-in-cheek smirk and wink ... and yes, indeed she does! Oh, for the love of Cher... She sure as hell does.

Doing this one by memory! Going back to the late 80s as a teen and reviewing my mom’s Cher, as a “teen” in my memory what I smelled! I wore poison back then, when this came out so I can say for sure it was like a step or 2 down from Poison, intensity wise. But it’s from those “oriental style” families. The first spray I remember was light airy ( the aldehydes) what I remember next ? There was a very unique sweet Bam of something, to my then 17yr old nose, I didn’t recognize!? But now that I can see the notes listed here? I’m pretty certain it was the tobacco!? Not a smoking smell but a sweet wet earthy tobacco that almost comes off as flowers that are soon to pass? Back then I remember thinking a weird licorice or some kind of dark candy but pretty sure now it was the tobacco, mixed with the ylang ylang (like a masculine/feminine pull...which is sweet yet sexy!!) At the end everything calms down the sweetness still there and creaminess comes into play...it lasts! And then goes powdery but in a yummy dreamy way? I remember this had such a unique other wordly smell compared to my Poison and Opium I wore ? It wasn’t as hard or deep? There was this lightness to it. If you think back to the 80s the poisons the Oscars and the tabu and the youth dews, etc ha, this is on the softer end of those strong 80s “orientals” sorry I don’t know a better word to use and don’t like using this word but that’s what this was called back then!? Anyway out of the perfumes of that style from back then? This, is on the softer end. And the tobacco and ylang ylang together in the mid are what make this unique! I think 🤷♀️ Then the vanilla comes in and it’s just soft yet sweet a sexy smell that I didn’t know what it was at 17 ha I was watching a YouTube content person doing a live stream and we were reminiscing about 8os cheapies and this popped up in my mind and the scent memory was sooo strong! My mom was the cher fan and I was rocking out to Depeche Mode ha so we differed but I remember coming in to take sniffs of this deciding if it was for me? Sadly now it’s astronomical$!! But I may try to find a bottle for sure! Or go to a perfume fragrance revival site to get one made!! I think this is pretty unique for what it was back in the day! And like I said The tobacco and ylang? Are what pop in this one! I’m curious if the new Cher perfumes in the round bottles (the blue one specifically) are even close to this? It was voted as a yes? But I don’t see how as the notes aren’t that similar ( if someone knows if they are close lmk!) I honestly wish this would come back! I had a short time with it and want to revisit it as I still wear poison all fell and winter, even spring it’s my signature...but this is a slightly different 80s vibe

Maple and caramel lead the way with tobacco influences in Cher's Uninhibited perfume. A warm maple syrup, akin to an old-fashioned syrupy flavor over waffles in a bed and breakfast surrounds you immediately. My first impression was that so much more was forthcoming. This is a heavy perfume. I could almost hear Cher telling the perfumer to just "do it" as they made this perfume stronger and stronger without thinking of the consequences. It's as if she wanted a perfume over the top and that's what she got. A perfume as unforgettable as the woman. A mix of woods appear next, warm resinous, gooey and thick, almost sappy-like. I inhaled deeply. This stuff is beautiful. Rich spices swirled in amidst the dangling oakmoss. This is a thick, full-bodied perfume, so enticing and seductive I'm not surprised production has stopped. The cost was probably prohibitive amidst all cutbacks, regulations and politics. And perhaps Cher wouldn't cave in to an inferior product. Because this fragrance is amazing. Twenty-six years later and it's an ass-kicker that opens your eyes. Uninhibited opens with a bit of citrus and aldehydes to let you know this is a strong perfume from yesteryear and you won't be disappointed. But the aldehydes disappear within seconds. Sweet and seductive with ylang-ylang, a laid-back almond vanilla courtesy of heliotrope, a dry, dry bitter, musty vetyver hinted with dark chocolate and a rich tobacco, and just when you think you're in a throwback to the '80's oriental perfume heaven, along comes a boozy vanilla scent uncommon to today's perfumes. Uninhibited is strong, ample and robust. The perfumes notes blend beautifully together to create a potent concoction that is substantial. The bottle itself is an art deco work of delight with its cap reminiscent of Chers' outlandish headpieces designed by Bob Mackie. If you like heavy woody orientals, look for Uninhibited on the secondary market. It is no longer in production, unfortunately. It's classified as a floral aldehyde and I cannot see why this perfume has that classification. It just doesn't fit. Even Cher herself describes it as a "spicy oriental that is sweet". A stunner just like the woman that put her name on it.

The notes listed here in fragrantica are not completely correct. The official notes are: TOP: blend of casablanca lily, peony, dried fruits & rum MIDDLE: lilac, carnation, honeysuckle & tuberose BASE: sandalwood, heliotrope, vanilla & musk (This is information from the actual 1989 Uninhibited newsletter.) It's so sad that it's discontinued... However, you can still find this scent on ebay. I've gathered a few top condition bottles of it. Three 90ml bottles of the edT and two 50ml bottles of the pure perfume, also couple of miniatures. The prices vary, edT's are around 100 euros/dollars these days and pure perfumes way over hundred. Not the cheapest prices but I know some discontinued newer perfumes that sell for a lot higher. Thank Goddess Cher is releasing her new perfume soon! Or I hope soon... Uninhibited begins with sparkling attention seeking aldehydes and fruity sweet rum and some ylang ylang! Very diva and glamorous opening. The other flowers appear in soon as well. I can't really say I detect certain flowers I just smell a gorgeous bouquét. The scent's top & middle -stages are pretty strong, so beware if that's not your thing. Not unlike Chanel n.5. The drydown is woody and sweet. Lots of musk. Cher describes the end like this "first you have this sexy and sensuous opening and suddenly at the end it's like something you would eat or it's like there's a baby somewhere, innosence. Super cozy and luxurious. I smell real vanilla with musk and high quality sandalwood in the end. The drydown is not just sweet but it's sweet and salty. I've noticed that the pure perfume is almost the same but you can really smell that everything in it is high quality. And it stays strong and lasts for much longer. Cher still wears this perfume. Before Uninhibited, Cher used to layer Charles of The Ritz , Ritz perfume with Vanilia by L'artisan. And that was her inspiration for Uninhibited. She also used to wear Ombre Rose and Opium, she stated in the 80's. I actually find the drydown in Ombre Rose incredibly similar to the drydown in Uninhibited. Closest so far. Fun fact: Cher always wears Uninhibited with vanilla before she goes on stage. How cool!

Oh. My. GOODNESS! This perfume I literally cannot believe I actually own it! I paid £170 for the cologne splash ( I know I’m ridiculous) but I thought it’s getting harder and harder to come across I may as well just bite the bullet and do it while I’ve been working extra hours and treat myself. Anyway, she arrived I squealed when I opened the box as she’s very old and bashed but the Art Deco inspired silver patterns are still stunning. I opened it and then was taken aback by the size of the bottle and lid. She’s beautiful and dramatic lol. As it’s the cologne there is no sprayer so I carefully dabbed some on my wrist and literally inhaled and it smells divine. I couldn’t smell any of Cher’s 2019 Eau De Couture all I could smell was a slap of warm aldehydes and orange peel. Then it warms up and I can smell the similarities with EDC, a breeze of lily and tobacco creep in and blend themselves in with the aldehydes which smell rather similar to Chanel no 5 IMO. The base is where it really smells similar to her 2019 release it’s such a soft vanilla and oak moss it’s rather lovely. I can see why uninhibited it’s raved about and I’m so glad I’ve finally got it in my collection. Cher in the 80s was one of her best eras and the fact she was one of the first ‘celebrities’ to launch into perfumes makes me smile, I love reading stories about her whilst she was making this fragrance and that it was a mix of two that she was wearing and she worked closely with the perfumers. A shame this was discontinued, I heard Cher wanted to keep this a luxurious fragrance and the house producing it wanted to make it more accessible and Cher didn’t want that, so it was discontinued and all these years later Cher has stuck to her guns and basically rereleased this with only subtle differences in the opening which I’m going to put down to the fact a few notes in uninhibited are now banned. The lasting power is glorious even for a cologne splash I get about 6 hours. I’m tempted to mix EDC with Chanel No 5 and I think that will give me the uninhibited experience without having to waste my precious juice!

Being a lifelong Cher fan of the highest order, I remember the release of Cher’s Uninhibited fragrance in 1989 as a big deal for her and for me. It was a peak time for Cher: a couple of top-charting hits, some awesome movies, preparations for a new concert tour, and oh.... this perfume! Over the course of a year, I picked up a 1.5 oz EDT, a 1/4 oz of parfum, bath powder, bath gel, body lotion, after bath splash, a couple of GWPs including .33 oz bottles of EDT and a 1/8 oz parfum. I was of course biased... it was all about CHER after all! But I loved the scent: the lily, the iris, the creamy vanilla and sandalwood... it was unlike anything I had ever smelled before. I was wild for Uninhibited and truth be told, I reeked of it for a long time! Once it became impossible to find, years later, I picked up another couple of bottles of it on eBay. I’m so glad I did. Almost 30 years later, my fragrance addiction in full blossom and my love for Cher unwavering, this vintage juice is as gorgeous as ever. That vibrant set of top notes has browned around the edges a tad, but give this old gal a minute, and she will blow you away once her heart warms. Uninhibited is, by far, one of my all-time favorite vanillas, with just the right balance of floral and wood that stays in harmony on my skin for hours. This original Parfums Stern formula (I have never tried the LLP version) has aged amazingly well. I still wear it from time to time in both EDT and parfum form, and I still have a couple of unopened bottles of it that I could easily sell now for a pretty penny. But not a chance. There is nothing like this scent. You can bury me with whatever unused portion of Uninhibited I may still have once my time has come . It will probably still smell better than heaven ever could.

One of the most stunning fragrances ever made, hands down. I kept seeing this at outrageous prices online and, of course, it peaked my interest. So, I tracked down a misspelled listing on the bay and got a partial bottle for a relative song. I've been completely obsessed ever since. I can't possibly do it justice, but will do my best to describe how it smells to me. I first smell a healthy dose of fresh gray ambergris... the real stuff, not the synthetic & sad copies we are accustomed to nowadays... but true dirty, musky, earthy, fresh (in the unaged sense of the word), gray ambergris. Then comes the heliotrope... the best heliotrope I've ever smelled in anything... none of that weird Play-doh undertone... just gorgeous powdery softness. Next are the vanilla, sandalwood (dry/soft/white, but warm - more like driftwood to my nose) and the florals (though unless I really concentrate on identifying them, don't pick out any certain one... they're very well blended and smooth). This lasts on my skin (oily) the entire day (live in a pretty humid climate), and in my hair pretty much until I wash it again. I aim the spray so that I hit my pulse points on my neck and the underside of my hair at the same time, so that I get more bang for my buck... especially since this is a small fortune to replace and want it to last as long as possible. One spray each side is plenty, since this has quite a bit of sillage and as I already stated, a good amount of staying power. This review is for the edt spray, by the way. I do have the pure perfume on its way to me, and will add any differences observed in that form (if any) as soon as I have it to test.

I have a tiny bottle of the pure perfume Uninhibited, and I think it's really very lovely. Perhaps because it is the parfum, not the EdP or EdT, what I smell is very different from the listed notes or category. Listed as a floral aldehyde? To me it's a no-contest oriental, possibly a floral oriental at most. Interestingly, it seems almost to go in reverse order of the usual, moving from base notes to top notes. The opening is musky, which seems to modulate into a quality powdery-woody amber scent. There is definitely a good amount of vanilla in it as well. Only after 5 or 10 minutes do the flowers become evident. At this point, I can detect heliotrope, a subtle rose, and a hint of ylang-ylang or jasmine. Finally, I find "top" notes as a thread of citrus and vetiver. Wait a little more, and a beautiful, lightly smoky sandalwood appears. Uninhibited has a well-layered richness and a smooth, velvety rondure that I find very appealing. It is sensual, but doesn't shout. I found it very classy and well-done---a good formula using good ingredients, confidently executed altogether. I wish this were still in production, but doubt whether the current sandalwood supplies would be up to snuff; I suspect it would suffer the same fate as Samsara and other perfumes that had an important sandalwood component. Sillage for me is quite moderate unless applied very heavily, but it lasts well, somewhere between moderate to long duration (perhaps 5+ hours). Unreservedly recommended.

@deutsch100. All the bottles I had and I have are with orange/cognac liquid colour. I bought first one in 1991, a BNIB 3 oz box (was my first Uninhibited ever) and it was the same colour with the next ones, probably more than 15 bottles through the years. Last one, bought last year from a nice man who owned a packer woth unopened boxes is exactely the same. All in perfect condition and best wiuality. The only two bad experiences I had was with one Pure perfume, very dark coloured indeed and with poor quality even if was sealed (the EDT performs better than the EDP or Parfum, and with one partial splash bottle which was with light yellow liquid, not too good as weel (I sow that the splash bottles available on ebay are all with very light yellow liquid and this is NOT a good sign, nor a one of originality. Uninhibited was, from the very first time with a concentrated orange colour, bit darker than a chanel 5 for instance, an old whiskey nuance. So, I think the most important think you must keep in mind when you decide to buy this masterpiece is the condition of the bottle (best are the atomiseur ones, sure) and the way it was preserved, boxed etc. Still need to make some reserves but new and unused bottles are almost inexistent on ebay or amazon :(

As a shy, chubby, curly-haired adolescent, I worshiped Cher. She was everything I hoped I would become but should never hope to achieve. She spoke her mind and always crossed a line when she did. I was not yet aware that her real attraction was her complete and genuine comfort with her blatant sexuality. It would take me decades to approach her level of badass and at 55, I'm still not quite there. I'm okay with that, because for women my age, she led the way, breaking absolutely every mold conceivable. Cher, thank you. I finally got my hands on a bottle of eau de perfum. Uninhibited is contradiction in a bottle in the best way, and mastery in fragrance. I cannot categorize this bottle. Uninhibited begins with a blast of aldehyde and vetiver. It evolves into an oriental, AND a Chyphre, AND a floral. The dry down presents a beautiful blend of oakmoss, heliotrope (not too sweet) and yummy, earthy vetiver (not pungent). Vetiver is done just so right here. Sandalwood and vanilla add sweet and spice notes, while bergamot, which disappears in many fragrances as soon as you register the note, remains for the duration, adding a touch of twang. And there she rests; delicious, layered, undeniable. Uninhibited in a class by itself, much like Cher.

Dear Readers, After seeing all these post, I feel relieved that im not the only person on this planet that is wanting jump on the "could turn back time machine bus" and raid the Broadway and bullock's or Lord and Taylors ?, depending where im thrown in the time machine to get bottles of this seductive perfume !. When I tried this perfume I was a child and even then I wanted this potion, because the scent was intensely mysterious and exotic and after seeing the notes on this site now I understand why it was hard to guess what was in the perfume, interesting combination that created sexy character of a fragrance and the bottle of the and box with a lot of Arabic inspired design its jus...t wow!. But its a shame there isn't a time machine for all of us to hop on ,buy this fragrance and come back to our present world !, But maybe all of us should write on Cher's face book or twitter homepage and just implore the divine diva to grant us our hearts desire for her fable perfume to be resurrected from the grave and bring us and the next generation the pleasure of its fabulous fragrance once more and forever.... who's with me !?

@ Alex Uninhibited is one of the few scents that it gets better with the age. If the bottle was unopened, the scent is even more beautiful than it was when it was produced. I have many bottles - even the splash is almost the same juice as I remember from late 80s. More than this, if the bottle is capsuled (with atomiseur) the quality is simply unchanged. This can be proved by few ladies here I already sent this masterpiece - of course, unopened boxes since 1989. it is strong, maybe bit too strong, and the ingredients, I think just because the recipe was with natural ones ar extremely high quality through the years. So, if you like it and you remember this beauty, keep it for you and be sure that when you will open it, you ll be mesmerized! Even the colour is the same (in my cases) but well, I kept my boxes in the original white carton packer and in the best condition. In any other condition, ligt, or bad temperature, yes, it can be changed. Still wondering WHO made this GRANDE OPERA...no one knows...

Not a review as the ones here cover it for me but a note regarding the post saying any bottles left are spoiled. That's nonsense. Maybe you're buying ones that sat on sunny dressers unboxed since the 80s, or ones roasted in an attic or wilted by a humid bathroom. Sealed, boxed bottles are fine - I think the Oriental ingredients as is often the case lend themselves very well to holding up through the years, and proper storage seals the seal. Please don't shy away from a full, respectable looking bottle because of some no doubt well intentioned but off track fear mongering. I am on bottle number 27 bought from eBay (buy for daughter & friend as well as myself) and have yet to get one anything like "spoiled". No aldehydes, no citrus, much base ingredients like sandalwood and incense is a wonderful combination (if made in 60s through early 90s) for an absolutely great smelling nothing old about it smelling vintage when combined with sensible or better storage methods. =)

It was 1989 when I went to the mall with a friend and I spayed this on my shirt. I thought it smelled pretty good but I couldn't afford it so I just finished up my shopping and went home. When I got home I changed my clothes and hung the shirt I was wearing back up in my closet because I'd only worn it for my trip to the mall. Two days later I went into my closest and took down the shirt and oh my God.. I could still smell it and it was even better than I'd remembered when I first sprayed it. I ended up buying a large bottle and I loved it so much that I only wore it on specially occasions. About a year later I still had over half the bottle when my ex boyfriends new girlfriend broke into my house and stole several things of mine including this perfume. Almost 30 years later and I still hate her for it lol

The oakmoss in the top notes is pretty intense in the EDP (much less so in the parfum), but if that's the only thing putting you off this little masterpiece, I discovered a little trick: Spray your wrists (or back of your hands, or forearms), wait about ten minutes, then rinse your skin briefly and pat dry. Amazingly, the harshest part of the oakmoss will be gone, and the heart notes will last throughout the day and into the night. I normally welcome oakmoss in all its brash pushiness, but my allergies were flaring up and I immediately began to sneeze after I applied Uninhibited EDP the other day. I rinsed my skin, as mentioned above, and the sneezing stopped. Also, the jasmine should be waaaay higher on the pyramid of votes. This is an amazing fragrance.

INCREDIBLE!!! This came out when I was a Freshmen in High School. Being a HUGE Cher fan, this was really cool. It smelled amazing, looked amazing and well...Cher! I have worn this for almost 30 years! Sadly, inventory is next to nothing and what does exist is spoiled...but there are still a few fresh bottles out there. If you can find one, and the liquid is light yellow, light gold...it is perfect. If the liquid looks orange or brown...RUN! This is soft, powdery, woody, sensual, warm, sexy.... If this was released today, it would be a massive hit. Cher was ahead of her time, as she always is. 1989 was not ready for such a unique and incredible scent. Equally fine for a guy too. This is not flowery and overly feminine! Love, love, love!!

This is a scent that I wish was still in production--I managed to be lucky enough to find several small bottles of it online (the EDP not the EDT). The scent is strong at first but it takes only a few minutes on my skin to settle and be very lovely. The highest notes are the bergamot, vanilla, rose, and sandalwood. This is probably by far my favorite scent and I am not usually a big fan of stronger, less floral (and fruity) scents. This one reacted really well with my chemistry and yes, I've had several friends test a small dot on themselves and it smells very different on everyone. Out of the 10 people who have gotten to try it 8 of them are now searching for their own bottles online. This is a fantastic scent for sure.

Gorgeous! This is not a floral aldehyde in my opinion. This is pure woody floral. This opens with a blast. Florals, woods, spices, it smells of old school, in-your-face, over the top glamour. Of course it does, it's Cher! Any aldehydes make a brief appearance here. Within a few minutes, it settles into a blend of sweet sandalwood, a touch each of vanilla and vetiver, and loads upon loads of ylang ylang. Carnation peeks through, giving it an ever so subtle hint of spice. This smells deep, rich, and warm. Like Cher, this scent is no wallflower. Not the safest blind buy, but if you get a chance, worth experiencing.

I remember buying this when it came out and the compliments it got. My recollection is it was a vanilla bomb and upon receipt of a bottle I tracked down on eBay this is correct. Cher has a way of being ahead of her time. The use of vanilla in Uninhibited is evidence of this. It is more complex than this but I also get the root beer and cola vibe that others have mentioned. I find it sweet but not juvenile in its execution. The tobacco and oakmoss help to ensure this. The citrus notes are subtle and just make the fragrance sing without overwhelming it. Highly, highly recommend!

Still on my skin from yesterday. Stunning santal, a non-gurmand vanilla, very natural, heliotrope and a hint of dried fruits and tobacco -this is the base of this masterpiece. Aldehydes are gone within 30 mins on my skin. This is, I think, the best celeb fragrance EVER made, a niche perfume. It can t be re-produced nowadays, no more natural ingredients and fixators. Totaly unisex in the base. Someone voted a similarity with 24 Faubourg Hermes, well, not even 1% similarity exist between these two...it must be a joke. Meanwhile, I m so happy with my big bottle. 9.5 out of 10

LLP formula ( actualy a copy) is light years far from the Stern original formula, it is almost a diferent scent, no need to describe. The original formulation always had an concentrated orange nuance, never light yellow (yes, some splashes has but as someone said, I presume they are diluted) so the original colour of the scent is a whisky nuance. I perfectly remember my sister's bottle, one of her first scent bought somewher ein the 90s. Still have a bottle, no doubt is the most beautiful vintage in my collection. The scent is even more beautiful complex, deep, stunning.

Uninhibited is highly unusual. One of a kind. I enjoy it so much, but somehow I find it too overwhelming on my own skin. It's very noticeable and somewhat sweet. Also it lasts forever even when applied very lightly (one spray is definitely enough for me), and at some point it always makes me feel slightly nauseous and gives me a headache. So, I'm rarely willing to take the risk to wear it. It's a pity really, because the scent is so unique and beautiful. Perhaps this is the kind of fragrance I'd prefer to smell on a lover. Just not on myself.

Was totally in love with Uninhibited (and all things Cher in general!) as teenager. It was warm and effervescent. The combination of heliotrope and vanilla smells like concentrated Coca-Cola on the skin! Recently, I stumbled across a new bottle of Uninhibited on EBay and my obsession with this bewitching elixir continues! This fragrance is both comforting and undeniably sensual. I'm amazed by the longevity of Uninhibited EDT: 5+ hours! This is the Holy Grail of vintage perfumes--expertly crafted and distinctive.

I bought this perfume when I was in high school! Back then every girl (except me) was wearing either Giorgio Beverly Hills or Calvin Klein Obsession. I still hate both of those perfumes today! I always loved Cher and I loved this perfume from the first time I smelled it! It was different. I also got lots of compliments wearing it! I have never found any fragrance that I like as well. I hope Cher will re-release it too!

A very powdery fragrance. Not the big bold badass that I expected. Lovely. The oakmoss in the top was very bitter and offputting since it is not in the notes but it tamed down. The fragrance really is about heliotrope balanced by some sandalwood, vanilla and a light sweet powdery pipe tobacco. Very pretty but I wouldn't call it uninhibited. I would call it delicate. No musk visible.

Golden, warm, rich, buttery-sweet rum. I love this scent for fall weather. The only thing that comes remotely close is Alien Liqueur de Parfum. Similar, but not quite, and this is richer and more quality. I like to put a little of this scent inside my jackets and coats :) I have the pure parfum. A treasure. If you find it, snap it up!!

The nose behind Uninhibited, according to osmotheque.fr (the best and most acurate source, also the owner of most of recipes, including the disappeared ones) is Francis Bocris , who also created the gorgeous Mon Parfum (Paloma Picasso). I still have about half of a large bottle that I purchased in high school. I have stored it very carefully, and the scent is still true. This was my signature scent for several years, and I can't wear it without strong memories. One of my all-time favorites, even though I normally prefer lighter scents.

If you can pick up a bottle do it. Its unique , and the heliotrope is to die for in this . Its expertly created, and some of the industry experts mention this as one of the best created...

I must be blessed by a fragrance angel, I found this a few months back at a thrift for for $2!! And its a large bottle!! Almost full, I snatched it up, it is pure heaven! <3

Oh my. This is what the 80s must have smelled like. Mind you, not the corporate Wall Street young Michael Douglas and Glen Close types . Uninhibited was not the widely worn and office safe (ha!) Opium of its day. It wasn't your stereotypical 80s perfume full of oak moss and civet, it was made with a recipe of it own. Uninhibited was made I feel for the avant-garde crowd. The Bianca Jagger kind of girl, who rides on the back of a white horse straight into Studio 54 (even if she nowadays denies she did). For the androgynous Bowie. For Cher. I can surely connect 80s Cher herself to this scent. Bold, strong, very noticeable. It opens with a blast of powdery leather smoke, that almost burns your nostrils. And a dry sandalwood mixed with some unburnt tobacco dominates thereafter. The tobacco is not the sweet/cherry type, but more earthy and dark. I am also sure that aldehydes are present, and the vanilla stays in the back the whole time (with today's standards the vanilla is almost nonexistent, but I guess a vanilla in the 80s was a whole different conception than now). Uninhibited is a fitting name for the scent,and the bottle reminds me of Cher wearing a fancy headpiece during one of her shows, singing 'if we could turn back time' with her arms in the air, embracing her audience. Edited to add: Just got a vintage (year unkown, I reckon 70s or 80s) parfum extrait Chanel No 5, full of civet and aldehydes. It is exactly the same as Uninhibited, it does makes me wonder! All the other No 5 variations are very different, except the vintage parfum extrait. Interesting!

i've been so curious to try this and recently got my hands on the sample of the EDT. on me, this is strongly aldehydic at the beginning and is like a soapy vanilla at that point. luckily the aldehydes die down a bit and then i get vanilla, ylang ylang and something that leans almost clove-like. more heliotrope and woods come through. overall it's mostly vanilla, woods and aldehydes. ETA: got a vintage mini bottle in an auction lot and this time it smells different. i get a lot of clove up front, but that note isn't listed. also something that smells vaguely reminiscent of root beer. maybe it's tobacco with woods(?) i get the aldehydes but they don't seem as overpowering this time. overall it's woody with a hint of spice. i get the vanilla/YY later on with some vetiver. i kind of can't believe there is no spice note in here. the aldehydes are quite effervescent. it gets prettier as it dries down.

I love Cher! This perfume is so 80’s for me! Big hair, spandex, and retro music videos! Uninhibited is like the ultimate sexy musk fragrance for me. I absolutely love ylang ylang and its powdery sweetness mixes perfectly with the musk in this fragrance. The aldehyde ylang ylang blend reminds me of the way Chanel Eau Premiere smells in the opening, which is another fragrance I love. The sandalwood and vanilla are most prominent in the dry down. I got this in the long lost perfumes version in a swap from a really sweet fellow fragrantica member and I couldn’t be happier with this fragrance, it’s a definite love for me!

I was born a couple years after this fragrance came out, and my strongest memory of Cher is being VERY fascinated by her outfit in the official video for If I Could Turn Back Time (and her doing I Got You Babe with Beavis and Butthead). I enjoyed reading people wax poetic about Uninhibited and eventually managed to come across a sample marked 1989. To my un-nostalgic nose, it's very much a scent of its time.

Opulent oriental, lasting, intense opening with a beautiful drydown in a few hours. Very happy go have this in my collection.

UNINHIBITED CHER YEAR 1987 Bottled But Not Contained As a feminist lesbian, I'm as big a Cher fan as there can be. She made a career out of "not fitting in" and being different, a total individual and an empowered woman who took life by the horns and made it hers. When this fragrance was launched in 1987, Cher appeared in various TV commercials to promote it and I remember the magazine ads. My recollection is vague but I don't think this was a commercial success. That same year Elizabeth Taylor launched Passion and she is credited as being the first major celebrity to start a fragrance line. Cher's Uninhibited was unfortunately overshadowed as a fragrance and has since become more of an obscure vintage rarity. The same thing happened to Michael Jackson when he launched his 'hologram' cologne which was a musk similar to Bal A Versailles. Like MJ, Cher has a penchant for grabbing attention and this perfume certainly does that! The theme for this fragrance is being uninhibited and expressing yourself through a fragrance which is not supposed to be a traditional woman's perfume, and it was meant to reflect Cher's on-stage persona: wild, strong, theatrical. One pictures Cher in her Bob Mackie creations with flamboyant and provocative costumes. I think the perfume was unique in some ways but classic in others. It opens with aldehydes and citruses, it has a floral heart and a woodsy-musky base. The citruses are more of a neroli scent, very perfumy, fresh and sharply accented. The opening is also quite unisex with a unisex orange. Before long the florals emerge and they are a tad more feminine with a powdery heliotrope and rose, a sweet white floral jasmine and ylang, but with the odd tobacco note the florals are given a more spicy and smoky air. These are very unisex flowers, and they feel dry. The whole thing, like Opium, can be worn by males, too, since it's a masculine style Oriental with aromatic smoky tones. A guy used to wearing Orientals like Shalimar or something like Tabu, Bal, Poison or Opium can wear this with ease. Makes a great evening cologne night club scent. The dry down is musk, sandalwood, cedar and vetiver so it's green and mossy but it never turns into a full fledged chypre. The vanilla note reminds me of vanilla bourbon. It is almost a modern twist on Shalimar, Tabu, and Opium. It would appear like Cher wore Opium and she wanted to make a perfume that was somewhat similar to Opium. It's a fragrance of pure seduction and charisma, sexual energy, and confidence. This is dark and warm, musky, formal, mysterious, and aromatic, smoky and Oriental without turning into, you know, a Persian oil. After wearing this again after so many years, I am literally overdosing on nostalgia. I was able to get this on ebay which sell vintage spray bottles and splash bottles. This is one hell of a perfume for one hell of a woman. Finally I want to talk about the bottle. This is a gorgeous decorative bottle very artsy looks ancient Egyptian and symbolic of the goddess Isis. This is perhaps due to the fact that Cher owned a custom built California home she designed herself inspired by ancient Egyptian architecture - pyramids and temples, Luxor, Memphis, etc. This perfume has a long lasting staying power, excellent sillage and radiation just like any big diva 80's perfumes. Uninhibited is hard to pull of today and it's mature and sophisticated, unisex, and commanding. I would wear this in the winter and autumn with leather trench coats. I would like to add that this perfume is also something that seems to be made of black and white colors. Cher, with the long dark hair and pale skin, is herself black and white. The scent can be black like smoke, black like tobacco and black with musk, but it's also white with jasmine and aldehyde. The scent is powerful so there's no need to put too much of it on. With too much on, it's really obnoxious. On the right woman, with the right evening gown, Uninhibited is classy and yet bold. Cher thank you so much for being you and for giving so many girls the confidence and inspiration to be themselves.

Cher's debut fragrance Uninhibited was launched in 1987, at around the same time that Elizabeth Taylor launched Passion. Of course we all know that Liz Taylor got all the glory and her Passion was selling big time. But Uninhibited has not really disappeared and has become a beloved vintage and niche fragrance. This is a beautiful and elaborately composed celebrity fragrance that is unlike other celebrity scents selling today. This was done with love, with a lot of meaning and with formulaic notes that are becoming harder to find in fragrances. I adore the design of the bottle. Very unique and very mysterious. It even looks Oriental and even if this might sorta feel Oriental it's one of those rare Orientals that aren' showing off. The first thing that drew me to this scent was the heliotrope. Heliotrope is also present in the formula for Elizabeth Taylor's Passion and it's my favorite purple flower, somewhat similar to the iris flower when it's transferred into a fragrance. It gives a perfume a touch of class, powder and elegance. But this fragrance is not all about girly girl powder or even flowers. As the name suggests this is a scent that has more in common with scents like Opium. It's a gender- bender and unisex scent that smells so luxurious, so expensive, and yet so flexible. Day time night time, any season winter or spring. Fragrantica lists the notes of bergamot, citrus aldehydes heliotrope, ylang-ylang, geranium, rose, jasmine tobacco cedar, musk, sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver. This is not very heavy and in fact this is what makes it such a perfect scent. It's not light either just very well balanced. It starts with strong aldehydes. A citric scent of orange and bergamot dominates the top along with those aldehydes. The heart has a strange blend of incensed flowers. There's gotta be incense although they are calling it tobacco. There's heliotrope, rose, jasmine geranium and ylang-ylang. These flowers are not your sweet girly girl flowers. No sr. They are grown women who are projecting their maturity and diva aspects. I can smell this on Cher. It suits her personality. Bold, feminine, sexy and strong. She takes charge and gets what she wants. The jasmine is really jumping out at me and it's one of those powerful jasmines like the jasmine in ALIEN by Thierry Mugler. In fact I would put this fragrance in the same family. The base is composed of musk, leather, sandalwood, a touch of vanilla and vetiver. It's more spicy than sweet the vetiver is really turning spicy on me. This scent is also very classically musky. It's totally unisex because of this. It's got a ton of leather and musk, along with the tobacco note and thus suited to men's colognes. The vanilla is not heavy it's just there to give the fragrance a longer duration and just a little bit of sweetness. But this fragrance is mainly dark, deep, mysterious and edgy. It smells like someone layered a woman's perfume with a man's cologne. Perhaps Cher was on to something here because this foreshadowed scents like Tom Ford's Black Orchid or Dior's Midnight Poison. It has that same strong scent that both a man and woman can rock. I love this fragrance a lot and wear it out on dates. It's very rare to find the woman or man that wears this so I'm usually the only person smelling of uninhibited when I go out. And no it does not make me feel uninhibited. I'm uninhibited enough as it is without a perfume. This is a scent that just makes me feel very sexy very womanly and seductive. It's not too far from the sexiness you feel from Shalimar. So if you like that sorta thing, go for it. It's hot, sexy, glamorous, showy and free, free to do as she pleases. Rock on Cher. We love you. PS I wish Barbara Streisand had released a fragrance or if she did let me know!

OK, I have to chow down on my preconceptions that any celebrity endorsed fragrance would be, by default, a load of old pony. Cher Uninhibited is a truly amazing fragrance. My bottle is well over thirty years old, and fresh as the day it left the factory and always attracts compliments..... Like any eighties vintage it comes out of the corner of the ring with both fists on overdrive, and you get that "vintage skanky whack" right out of the traps, which fades as soon as the first knock down occurs. Thereafter it's a very rapid evolution through every flower known to personkind. I imagine it's rather like ringing Cher's doorbell, having her answer it in that black mankini thong type thing she wore in the warship video, being struck momentarily dumb, then being escorted on a tour of her home, every room filled with bouquets and gently steaming bowls of aromatic ungents, her initially intimidating greeting turning to raucous laughter and the intimacy of tea in a beautiful garden. The base of vanilla is so beautifully soft, crafted to bend and complement the florals, rather than trample them into submission and take over the show, which all too often happens. Who created this? Ah, Francis Bocris. I hope this is at the top of his resume as his crowning glory, because, frankly, it should be. To have discontinued this is another of the discontinuation crimes which perfumistas are given to weeping over. It cannot be rehashed, reformulated and resurrected as a pale ghost - it must stand as the beauty it is. One would expect a perfume with the name Uninhibited (Cher) to be somewhat sultry and "come hither". It isn't. It is confident, relaxed, it doesn't give a monkey's chuff about being an attractant because, let's face it, you'd be a mug NOT to be attracted. For this reason, it's eminently wearable and feels like a magic blanket of "couldn't give a damn". Big flowers, non indolic, deep base notes which embrace the top and middle notes, living flowers which sinuously bend and writhe in slow motion, embracing and in turn embraced by a non sweet, creme anglais vanilla and entirely distant finest humidor tobacco. Vetiver and cedar are not apparent, which means they work behind the scenes, holding up the scenery, rather than stealing the show from the glittering star. Rather like Cher herself, the perfume is a timeless chunk of art, which nobody in their right mind would insult. As the commercial blurb says; "Cher Uninhibited - Bottled, but not contained". To quote the lady herself "If I could Turn Back Time" (I would buy a few dozen bottles of this, bring them back to 2019 and take over the world.) Top tip of the millenium, if you want to know where to get a perfect oil perfume "type" of this, (yes, its spot on), Try The Fragrance Shop, 200 N Greensboro St., Suite A11, Carrboro, NC 27510. Believe me, I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true, and have a vested interest insofar as I want it to be available forever, along with their Anne Klein 2 and Alfred Sung range.

This is a perfume encumbered by its reputation. According to many reviews U. is the holy grail of celeb perfumes and an early gourmand, too. Gone too soon, ahead of its time, why do the good ones die young? Etc etc etc, the wailing is grievous. Due to my great age (56) I actually remember when this scent hit the stores. The reception was, shall we say, mixed: the vanilla note confused many. Maybe the uncertainty about her first scent put Cher off from making another offering, her second perfume came out in 2019. Vanilla is fine with me and recently I purchased a mini of U., very stylish in its metallic art deco box. There's no label on the bottle so I have to guess the strength is either edt or edp. As for the perfume ... it's much like I recall: woody with a touch of vanilla scented tobacco. There's a sharp note which takes a while to wear off, it may be the bergamot. Considering the age of the fragrance it's likely to be past its prime. I don't get any floral notes and the vanilla is very discreet. Lasting power is moderate, sillage is poor in the splash. A spray application might be better. Although the fragrance is labeled for women men will want to check it out, the scent is completely unisex. U. is a good enough fragrance on its own merits but it's burdened by expectation, no perfume can fulfill every fan's hopes and dreams. It's said that absence makes the heart grow fonder, maybe that's why so many remember this fragrance as being better than it actually is. Vanilla lovers will be disappointed if they're looking for a blast of sweetness, U. is rather modest in every way. Fans of woody notes may find U. too soft and unconvincing. I think U. is OK, not good enough to hit the like button and too good to use the dislike button.

The first time I tried this on my skin I could not believe it was just that. All the talk about such sex bomb and the amazingness of it made me expect just too much and I felt I had got so little ... "I don't understand this! I dismissed the whole question." Time after time I would try a whiff or two without much expectation. And Indeed, I thought: where IS that sexiness, that message supposed and implied by its name, that something which should turn you on or say something about you in that respect? I didn't have the answer. Until one day when I had no perfume on ... went on about my day, sweating. After a while the smell of my sweat drying on skin was something I enjoyed: a somewhat ambery and salty, sweetish organic smell. At that point I remembered Uninhibited, a scent which does nothing on my skin but which smells similar, so I washed when at home and then applied. In fact I get with Uninhibited the same effect as with my natural smell, only amped up, quicklier made to happen. At that point only did i understand that the sandalwood played the main role in 'interpreting' my skin, making it manifest itself, come out and send floating whiffs of... myself. The smell of salty bread crust at the beginning and then the delicate vanilla molding inside my skin's effusions giving way to a sweet-sourish exudation. I like the way I perceive this scent, it's the smell of heated body so... now I get it. Time after time I 'read' it more and more and I reach for it often enough. It's great experience even if it' not really love. Worh discovering!

Just received my bottle of uninhibited EDT, was always curious about this fragrance ever since I saw Cher’s David letterman interview on YouTube from the 80’s were he complimented her fragrance and she told him it was a mix of l’artisan vanilla and Charles of the ritz! Upon reading the notes I kind of figured I would like the fragrance as I tend to lean towards vanilla and orange blossom type scents usually and then I saw a review where someone stated it smelled like orange smoke, well upon first application that’s exactly what I smelled orange smoke, upon dry down it becomes very soapy but I still smell the orange blossom and vanilla, most of the smokiness is gone now and I’m left with a beautiful sweet skin scent, not the strongest fragrance especially for an 80’s perfume but that could be down to the splash and the small amount I applied, however I keep catching gorgeous wafts of the fragrance even after 2 hours of wearing! Would be a beautiful date night perfume, I actually think this perfume reminds me a lot of Chanel 22, especially the vintage which was very incensey with orange blossom and happens to be one of my favourite fragrances! Maybe I’ll try order some of the Parfum if I can get my hands on it as I do love this fragrance, I’m also curious to try Cher’s new perfume eau de couture as I hear it smells very similar so I’ll do a comparison review when I receive that!

If I could turn back time back to when Cher launched Uninhibited in 1988 I would buy it by the case. Thanks to a helpful Fragrantica member more than 2 years ago, I was luckily able to get another bottle of this discontinued perfume. That bottle, as well as a few more, are long gone. If you believe that exceptional celebrity perfumes are far and few between, you will be amazed at this 70's diva dramatic production possibly leaving you in a state of awe. Uninhibited is an extremely light floral with the concentration purely on the vanilla. The aldehyde's are apparent in the opening but only for a short instance with a bit of orange and bergomot for good measure. Travel into the middle stage and the heliotrope with it's vanilla essence takes over the jasmine and rose notes. Into the drydown, sandalwood, high end sandalwood, imported no doubt, adds a warm sensation and Gothic feel which I'm assuming Cher wanted to express and did accomplish. More vanilla, superb vanilla and the result is one great perfume. I find it similar to Creed's Vanisia. Longevity is a good 5-7 hours. This review is based on the original as the second version seems to have been tweaked out of sync. You don't have to be A Scamp, A Camp and A Bit of A Tramp to sport this fragrance, however, I would not recommend it for the uncool--you should be uninhibited as the name implies.

I've read all the reviews about this mythic like scent, eagerly wanting to try it for myself, I purchased a couple of bottles off eBay. I assumed it was a safe blind buy because of the raving reviews on this elusive fragrance. Well. Time to dive in.... In the beginning, there's the blast of aldehydes, and if you can imagine, a soapy but powdery vanilla, that wafts around me, then settles down to a more straightforward like vanilla (still powdery) with a hint of tobacco and heliotrope. The tobacco keeps it edgy, keeps Uninhibited from being overtly floral while complimenting the vanilla. I keep getting cloves, like a spicy undertone. I'm not sure if this is the tobacco as well. Everything is so well blended together the florals I do detect is the heliotrope and germanium. The dry down is amazing..it's almost like a clean vanilla/clove/sandalwood. I do pickup on the Dr. Pepper or Cola vibe as mentioned below. This is softer than I imagined, it sits close to skin; I don't get more than 4 hours longevity. But then I again I don't over spray. I'll be honest, I wasn't liking it when I first tried it, but this scent kept changing and that's something I enjoyed. The dry down is definitely to die for.

You meet someone who makes you want to shred your buttoned up tweed two piece suit into a ragged vest and miniskirt. Who makes you want to donate all your sensible pumps to those in need and forego shoes altogether, because now you decide it's more important to feel fresh spring dirt on your bare feet. This someone spikes your bottle of no. 5 with three finger taps of an ashed out cigarette. Together you embark on sleepless nights of running through the city stealing booze and plums and rained-upon flowers from bodegas. But you can never shake the feeling that you're faking it, that you are trying too hard to fit into the life of this new sudden someone. Someday they will call you out on your fraudulent ways and break your heart. They will tell you that you have been using them all along, as a kind of escape, and there is nothing noble or special about your transformation, it is only a selfish fantasy. They will tell you to go back home where sweet cotton pillows and crystal door knobs and cream tea are waiting for you. So you do. But even for that brutal recognition, you will continue to miss them.

I remember Uninhibited so vividly from back in the day. Winter of 1988, when I was a teenager. What I wouldn't give for a bottle now. I did try the Fragrance Shop version of this because I just wanted to smell it again so badly...while the FS oil is quite reminiscent of Uninhibited, it is not anywhere near being a dupe. Just wanted to share my experience in case anybody is thinking of trying it. For me it was worse to get close but still so much was lacking. (I think the FS oil is pretty much straight-up heliotrope, but what do I know?) EDITED TO ADD: I nabbed a brand-new, never-been-opened bottle of the EDT spray (ebay) and I'm in heaven. I do think, however, that it was the EDP I knew, so that's next on my list. (-; EDIT #2: Just received a bottle of the new formula Bijan EDT and the similarity to the vintage Uninhibited is quite remarkable, at least on my skin. I'd say if you're craving Uninhibited you might want to check out the reformulated, newer version of Bijan edt, which is lovely by the way, but does *not* smell like the original Bjian from the late '80s, sadly enough.

I just finished reading these reviews and I am wanting so badly to try this. It is described just as you would imagine a frangrance from this exotic woman would be. As I am anti-celebrity perfume due to the current overload of celeb.perfumes...none which I find distinct from one anonther or even stand out one of a kind sexiness. Not to mention everyone and their mother is on this quick rich perfume band wagon it seems caring about the smell doesn't seem to be priority .(just my opinion) so I had forgotten back in the decade of good time and originality we had such an exotic female icon make a perfume.this seems as if it stands all Tests of time & is one of those "be a real woman to wear this" perfumes. Damn,I want to own this so bad. I see the prices on eBay though.....a bit out of my range. But I'm tempted to begin saving up & making a blind buy(something I never do) because this seems absolutely worth it. If you own this, you are so freakn lucky. :) hopefully I will be next.

Found this little treasure on "The Perfumed Court" website and ordered a sample of it. Received it today and sprayed it on my neck and wrist on my way to work. Sure enough, I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE with this fragrance! My co-workers noticed the smell as soon as I walked in and said it smelt great on me, I smiled and said what it was and that I ordered it exclusively offline. I received compliments on it all day and am so gonna hunt down a big bottle of this little jem for daily wear. When you first spray it, you are hit with a strong tobacco/jasmine/sandalwood/rose scent that is still clean and fresh smelling. It is very earthy, yet glamorous at the same time. After a few hours it settles down to a nice sweet sandalwood smell. It lasts for hours! You do not need much of it because it is strong yet subtle. People didn't even know it was perfume, a lady said it could definitely be a unisex perfume. A great buy and find

I became very closely acquainted with Uninhibited after spilling half a bottle of the parfum all over myself one day. The experience was very nearly traumatizing, and even with hot showers I carried the scent on my skin and hair for a couple of days. Nowadays I stick to tiny dabs from a mini. I would like a bottle of the spray, but the prices are prohibitive. So until I have a lucky find, tiny dabs are all I will have. I have a hard time picking out individual notes. Uninhibited is an old school power fragrance. I definitely smell aldehyde and rose notes, which are very nearly a dealbreaker for me. But the tobacco note really hooks me in. It softens and sweetens as it develops on the skin, and eventually dries down to a classic Oriental style fragrance with a punch.
