Tuberosa 1974

Absolutely gorgeous, stunning, a must try for tuberose lovers. I’ve tried a lot of tuberose fragrances. I’d say this one is closest to something in the Gucci Bloom line. However, Gucci Bloom is a cheap synthetic drugstore knockoff with no actual tuberose compared to this perfume. I was very disappointed by Bloom and mostly got an overly blended synthetic airy lily scented powder, never any actual real flower scents. It never projected on me and vanished in under 2hrs. I can really smell the tuberose in Chloe Tuberosa. It’s tuberose, lightly softened by a lily-esque flower. Reads to me like actual flowers, not a sweetened powder. Smells very expensive. Not sharp or aquatic. Projects well and lasts a long time. I’d also recommend this as an alternative to fans of the Lys 41 type of tuberose scents. I never tried the TF tuberose but it’s on my test list. I know some reviewers here tend to think tuberose is old fashioned or too mature, but this is youthful, innocent, beautiful. Represents the brand very well. This is definitely going on my wish list. This has a classic timeless elegance. The ingredients are quality and it shows. I’d recommend it over Bloom 1000000%.

it maintains its french politeness while not bargaining on its story, something warm dials down in the beginning and the tuberose blooms . its warmness later decays in the drydown and becomes a bit cleaner but also fruiter side of tuberose is shown . unafraid to be different, for someone used to attention, i picture this on someone fierce like jada pinkett smith or shirley manson . i only have a sample but a full bottle is on my list, its not terribly similar to TF tuberuse nue (which i love), theyre spicy white florals but thats where it ends . this definitely has other notes in it, the OG chloé was before my time so i cant attest to its authenticity . despite the votes i think id like this more in the winter or fall . this smells like how chloé’s fashions looks like, boho chic, mildly hippie/70s

Testing my sample; smoky florals cloaked in rich spices, tuberose is the focus. Quite strong on the skin, very noticeable if someone is within arms' length. Can be worn all year round.

This is absolutely twins of Tom Ford Tubereuse Nue. You can buy this for saving more money. This is great!

Tuberosa 1974 on its own isn't really to my liking. It's a beautiful scent, but it just doesn't resonate with me. HOWEVER, when I decided to layer it with Papyrus... OH MY, the result is an incredibly delightful, beautiful, elegant, sexy, and mature aroma that simply captivates. This line of fragrances is meant to be used in combination with others, and I've particularly fallen in love with Papyrus. Yet, I felt it needed the company of a stronger scent, prompting me to pair it with Tuberosa, and the outcome is sensational. I ended up purchasing both, especially because there was a special promotion offering a free 50ml bottle of Papyrus when buying the 150ml Tuberosa.

Very appropriate name. Smells like what I would imagine a tuberose-centered perfume in 1974 smelled like. For vintage lovers.

I’ve tried many Chloe perfumes over the years and so far have only liked one. I’ve been wearing this for hours now and I just can’t stand it anymore. This beginning was nice, and that’s it. This is screechy and “high pitched” to me. So few perfumes annoy me and make me kinda angry but this is one of them. It’s got a nose burning quality to it. I think I’m done with the Chloe brand because I really love tuberose and thought I would love this.

Opens quit strong, almost smokey spicy. Thankfully for me, that fades into a sweet, deep, slightly soapy tuberose. I have to be very careful with grounding notes, but this is well blended enough that nothing particularly jumps out to make me sick. Someone mentioned amber and another aldehydes, things that I definitely notice and hate in high quantities. It’s really interesting because while it’s a strong floral when I put my nose right up to it, it’s almost intense, but the silage is very close to the skin. Like other Chloes I've tried, it is very clean smelling, and I expect it to linger linearly for a few hours before fading altogether. I understand those who categorize this as more mature because it takes influence from the vintage version(?), but I think it’s perfectly wearable and not grandma coded or anything.

This floral fragrance is a glorious nod to the original amber-colored Chloé perfume by Karl Lagerfeld, launched in 1975. The 1974 in the name honors the year the Chloé brand itself was founded. The tuberose in the name could be misleading to some, as it is so well blended that the tuberose is not front and center. (This smells nothing like EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.) If you loved the original Chloé (which you could buy at Nordstrom Rack 10 years ago for $30), you will be happy to learn that you can get it again at over 10 times the price. Regardless, this one is a throwback masterpiece to the days when perfumes were so masterfully blended, first and last sniff of the wrist smelled exactly the same. Flowers and aldehydes and sandalwood, oh my! This one is DIVINE.

I am so very excited, Jomashop has the 5.0 oz for $106 and I had to buy one blindly. LOVE the original Lagerfeld Chloe! I have many many vintage Chloes to compare. OK- the review. Fresh from shipping yesterday. It's not Chloe. The nozzle sniff wasn't Chloe, the sprays down my shirt had a HINT of Chloe-- like I said "Oh there she is" but no. It wasn't her. This is not buttery or mossy prob from modern notes. This is sheer and soapy- actually elegant and wedding like for 2025. It's VERY nice, but the tuberose is not the star and it's not Lagerfeld Chloe. No regrets. I have a huge stash of BethCo Chloe- and this is very lovely. If I crave Chloe, I can wear this to work- it's very 2025 friendly. It's also sheer, light sillage, and only lasted about 4-5 hours.

Luckily, I have some of the original in mini form. It was a big favorite of mine in the early 80s, and if you are a white floral and amber lover, then you would have loved it, too. If this is anything like that, then I really suggest you sample it because the OG was so lovely. As for me, there is no way I am going to purchase a bottle of a perfume I once loved that is bound to be different due to regulatory changes and costs an exorbitant amount of money when I still have the old stuff available. However, if I can get my hands on a decant or sample, I'm willing to give it a go just to see how it compares!

I just tested this on a paper tester in a Chloe perfume masterclass, where they told us that this is the same formula that Karl Lagerfeld used in 1975, just with the ingredients updated to the ones which are available today in the market. On a paper tester, this is a beautiful tuberose - if you like tuberose, give this one a try.

While this starts off with tuberose, I get an unmistakable scent of a beautiful gardenia with soap (aldehydes). This is a gorgeous clean white floral scent with lots of soapiness. Call me old fashioned, but I adore this. Thinking of adding something with a little wood and vanilla to make this sing!
