Verbena

I absolutely love this fragrance! The scent is like an expensive and refreshing lemon sorbet. Sweet with some herbal notes. It's feminine and playful. Perfect for the day and when you're on holiday. I've bought my second bottle. Though, it has increased in price substantially since my first purchase nearly 3 years ago. I luckily found a good discount on my new bottle. Always get compliments from it.

Has anyone tried layering this on top of MH Tea Tonique? Amazing!

The opening reminds me of mainstream cologne for men, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s very sharp cistrusy and lemony as advertised, nothing too ground breaking or complex. A little sour, a little grassy underneath. Will have to try again on a hot summer day. Right now it’s leaning toward cleaning product in a similar way to Replica’s Under the Lemon Tree. I think it’s the herbal note here that’s getting to me.

In general, I am not a fan of verbena, and this is no exception. Glad I got to try it though.

It was decent, a second attempt is needed — the scent profile is quite predictable.

I blind-bought a 50 ml bottle, hoping it would not be too much like my other verbena scents (all of which I love, but didn't want to duplicate.) Fortunately this is different from the others. It's categorized here as a Citrus, but the Chloé website describes it as an Aromatic, and I concur. There is a distinctly herbal quality especially as the lemony top notes quiet down. This smells like the great outdoors on a warm summer day. A bit lemony, a bit grassy/hay-like (coumarin). Fresh, even a little tart, rather than sweet. I smell a little LOTV in there. It is light -- definitely multiple sprays are called for, including getting some on ones clothes if one wishes to to prolong the lemony top notes. It is subtle and clean-smelling. I find it quite pleasant, and it drew compliments from both my husband and daughter.

It's fine, just "fine" if you like herbal citrus. I don't think it's special enough to warrant a full bottle purchase at those prices. There are much better scents from this line and much better citrus scents at more reasonable price points from other fragrance houses.
