Love Chopard

Love Chopard is a beautiful gourmand rose perfume. I have read and listened to many reviews on this perfume before deciding to blind buy it. Some that have reviewed it have said it is a deep, woody, incense rose perfume and others have said it is a sweet gourmand rose. I was hoping for the gourmand rose because I have other rose perfumes that are a deep rich patchouli incense type of rose perfumes, but if it ended up being an incense rose I would be ok w/ that because I love rose perfumes, so I went ahead and bought it not knowing which rose my nose would get. I agree w/ those that have said this is a gourmand rose. When you 1st spray this it smells like an all natural rose water face mist as the fragrance progresses more roses bloom, sweet roses, powdery roses, and a slight green rose but very slight green mind you. Then a touch of cinnamon, pink pepper and candied violet w/ a touch of orange and vanilla blend w/ all the roses. These rose petals have also been coated w/ a brown sugar and honey, they are very sweet. This perfume smells like rose candy. I have a tea from Providence Perfume Company that is called Brambleberry Rose and it is a sweet rose black tea and this perfume reminds me a bit of that tea w/ sugar added. This is not a heavy perfume, it is sweet, soft, feminine and very romantic. This would be perfect to wear on a Valentine's Date night, or any date night for that matter. And Love is the perfect name for this perfume because the bottle, and the fragrance inspires Love w/ the beautiful smell of candied roses. Edit: 12/10/21 The cacao comes through more in the last dry, dry down. Like cooking chocolate combined w/ the last of the sweet roses. I just love this perfume. If you like gourmands (I never was a gourmand person but I think the trick w/ that genre is it has to smell natural and not like synthetic cake batter) and love roses give this beautiful rose perfume a try.

If I were to forget that Atomic Rose existed, Love Chopard would automatically be my all time favourite rose centric perfume!!! This perfume has the most concentrated rose formula, containing 6 varieties of roses, from all across the world! It’s unbelievable beautiful! A rich, sweet, warm, honeyed rose at heart surrounded by supporting notes like cinnamon, orange blossom, vanilla, patchouli, pink pepper, cacao and woods. It’s spectacularly good, a gift from master perfumer Alberto Morillas to all women! Compared to Atomic Rose, Love Chopard doesn’t cost a monthly house/car payment and it’s not as eternal as Atomic Rose! Which is something that I absolutely adore in Atomic Rose, that fragrance I can smell on clothes even after washing. Love Chopard is intense, long lasting but it disappears after 12-14 hours wear. Believe it or not, I finished a full 100 ml bottle of this and I replaced it with a new one. It’s one of those few perfumes that I don’t want to be without, a lifer! If you’re looking for an outstanding, complex, multifaceted, affordable rose fragrance, forget about Creed or Kayali, or whatever else they launched in 2025 on rose and get your nose on Love Chopard! It’s better, lasts longer and costs way less than any/all these hyped rose releases you hear people talking about on social media platforms. Thanks me later...

I tried Love Chopard today. I have a love/hate relationship with this perfume. It's a slightly spicy Rose, I smell quite a strong Patchouli scent and this made me not like it at first. Luckily, the Rose scent gradually becomes more prominent and sweeter than before, I ended up loving it. Red Rose, I think it is a type of wild climbing Rose with many thorns, with strong vitality and pride. Because the Rose scent is somewhat wild, as if I were in some abandoned place with overgrown trees. And the climbing Rose trellises there grow profusely on moss-covered roofs and walls. A romantic scent, neither dark nor bright, expressing the gentleness and femininity of Roses, but still not forgetting that Roses have thorns! Love Chopard has a Vibes quite similar to FM Portrait Of A Lady but is less intense and softer. It's femme fatale Vibes, seductive and mature. It's not the perfect Rose scent for the masses, but it cannot be denied that it is a quite unique scent and has its own personality 😄 P/s: I love it so much, It has an addictive smell when smelled a lot. The advantage is that everyone around me compliments the scent of Love Chopard on me. Rating: 9/10, romantic Rose scent like a poem

I got a 50 ml of this today, and I don't regret it, even though it leaves me still searching for my dream rose. I dream of a deep, dark but sweet, sensual or even sexy, maybe a little plummy fragrance. Maybe musky or animalic? Had a wonderful such thing that I bought in my youth, of a totally unknown brand. I have the empty bottle still, and it smells wonderful... Does.anyone have a suggestion??? Well, this one, Chopard Love, is nice. It is warmer and softer than the quite sour Valentina Rosa Assoluto, and less of the plain sugar on top of the too sour rose which are the only two notes I can feel in the much praised Nina Ricci L'Extase Rose Absolue. That one I find absolutely boring... Love Chopard still has a little touch of that sour note, for my liking. But it is warmer and rounder, so it is a keeper for me. It gets a like, not a love, from me. On a scale of 10: it gets a 6. Edit: I like this more trying it the second time, after a warm shower before bed. I sprayed it more liberately this time, so it wafts around me rather than that I stick my nose in it. Lighter and warmer like that. A little oldfashioned in a nice way. Now it even gets a 6,5 from me. 😁

I treated myself to this as a blind buy, and had mixed feelings at first. It took me a while, and then it occurred to me, this is Turkish delight in a bottle! The opening is rosewater, with a hint of powdered sugar sweetness, and the same 'gumminess' I experience when biting into rosewater Turkish delight. (I love rosewater Turkish delight, BTW.) It definitely has a touch of that middle Eastern woodiness that gives it a mysterious energy. It then settles into a pleasant spicy woody fragrance that smells classy, and yet maintains that sweetness that the right kind of rose brings to a fragrance. I am on the hunt to find another rose fragrance to take the place of my ultimate rose which is Stella McCartney. It has sadly been discontinued. I would not have ordinarily bought this but took a chance based on a YouTube video. It's an affordable price so I thought I couldn't really go wrong. This isn't a substitute for Stella at all, but wow am I having a lot of fun trying rose fragrances along the way and I am glad to own this.

This isn't for everyone but it is for lovers of Middle Eastern rose centric, rich, decadent, heavy, slightly spicy fragrances WITHOUT oud. To give a good visual, I would describe it as like wearing a rick, thick, syrupy rose absolue or a really good quality rose water on steroids, made from thousands of roses like: Tea rose, Damascus rose, Bulgarian rose, Moroccan rose, Turkish rose, Taif rose and probably all the rose variations known to man, for effect!! and I loves it. Then add some honey, honey with orange blossom: drizzled into the thick, syrupy absolue. Next comes dashes of: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cocoa essence, Vanilla, Tonka bean, Brown sugar, just dashes to warm the absolute, and give you the feeling that you are about to presented before the whole Arabic court, with kohl lidded eyes, and they can smell you before you arrive, as this is a whole ritual you are wearing at this point and you are ready to roll and all eyes are on you. So, its Its good for when you want to make an impression and a trail.

Love Chopard by Chopard, is a nice, jammy, Middle Eastern rose. And Its 🌹 upon rose. Rose and more rose and im here for it. It starts out big! And really lingers quite well on clothing. And whilst rose is the obvious star of the show. I get the honey, violet and cinnamon too. And they keep it from being a sickly, sweet rose. Although it is very sweet! So if you don't do sweet, Turkish delight rose or that gorgeous rose water you buy from the Indian food supermarket, then its not for you. P.s. immediately thought of Rose Jam, by Lush when I sprayed it today and I hadn't noticed it before. And in fact I think I prefer it to Rose Jam and I love a jammy rose. But there's a note in Rose Jam that I can't quite get along with and I have to wait 15-20 mins before I start to enjoy it. But not so with Love Chopard, so I'm in heaven.

This is a good-quality rose fragrance that starts off jammy sweet and, as it dries down, it gets an oriental turn from the base notes, an incense-like scent that makes me realize this has more depth than meets the eye. It's also slightly powdery from the violet, the patchouli here is smooth, sensual, blending beautifully with the honey and cacao, bringing along an almost gourmand vibe deep in the dry-down. After several hours (it has an amazing longevity, at least on my skin), the sandalwood becomes more noticeable, lending a woody character to the composition. I doubt there's any agarwood in it, though. I can't say it's the best rose perfume I've ever come across, but it's remarkably well-done and feminine, with a very good performance for the price. If you like sweet rose orientals, this is definitely worth checking out.

At the beginning the roses are a bit too much, too red, too heavy making me think of the first weeks of being in love - the extreme heart flutters, the overwhelming feeling of "what's happening to me??". I can't really enjoy it properly, as it's more confusing than enjoyable, and that's the beginning of love stage, kind of like you're not sure if you really want what everybody seems to be chasing so hard. Thank goodness that doesn't last forever. Give it some time and it will develop into something warm, deep, sweet and creamy, that somewhat reminds me of ripe raspberries handpicked on a very warm day. Something that reminds me of beautifully complex yet well balanced and long discontinued... YSL M7 that I've been trying to find for years now. I think this could work on any day, moderation and overall style being the key.

First impression: super thick fragrance, dense rosy scent. I used to hate perfumes with a prominent Bulgarian/jammy rose note in the past. I remember once I put a rose-scented lotion on my skin before going to sleep and almost felt sick, naseus. I felt real aversion. However, my attitude changed completely once I visited Bulgaria. I smelled their products and immediately I fell in love with roses. Now I purposefully search for perfumes like that. This is really a very rosy fragrance. Not like in Idole Now, or Armani Si Intense, or something like that. This is rose 1000x. I don ́t really get honey (if so, then maybe there is a slight sweetness to it due to honey?), nor do I really get other notes. Gorgeous scent, beautiful heavy bottle. :) I will update my review once I test longevity and sillage properly.

It was a blind buy. But I’m glad that I have this parfum. It’s elegant, feminine. Intoxicating bouquet of roses. But not bold or banal roses. It has some smoky notes in the base, I could say that it’s a tobacco leaves and frankincense, or like a burnt sandalwood. The parfum is gorgeous and smells much more expensive than it costs. I regret not buying a big bottle of it... 3 weeks later. I’m just in love with it! It became more smoky, but not brutal at all - “Mysterious”, as it mentioned in the previous comment. It stays on my skin 9+ hours. The base is so gorgeous. Yesterday I could smell cherry notes ... When I take a hot shower, my hair start to smell all the beauty of the parfum, I’m like in a rose-cherry- spicy-warm tabacco cloud.

A very warm, rose bouquet in a sandalwood dark room. There's some spiciness about it initially, with sun-drenched, intoxicating raspberries, honey and sugar, some kind of rich rose rachat locum, honestly like a bit too much of everything. Then the sweet stuff gets quiet and patchouli whispers a few words, making the roses almost lemony green, and its echo lingers there for some time, getting woodier, bitterer, drier. Then there's the creamy drydown, with dark vanilla, some resin, a touch of sweet whiskey and what not, all blended deliciously into something pleasantly warm. It makes me think about old good M7, the same raspberry-filled oudy feel. Not exactly the same, but a rather nice variation. Missed it much, happy to rediscover.

Lo compre despues de haber probado un decant y me sorprendio su parecido con Rose Oud de Alexander J o el Porpora de Tizinia Terenzi. No digo que sea un clon, solo similares. Aunque este me parece mucho mas llevadero. Es un perfume diferente y, en un primer momento, sorprendente. De entrada se sienten rosas, muchos tipos de rosas, taif, centifoglia, damasque, atalcadas y especiadas con patchouli, cacao y miel en mi piel , con un trasfondo dulzón, pero seco, no empalagoso. Es un perfume oscuro, sexy, con personalidad y que no pasa desapercibido. Su estela amplia y su duración, más de 8 horas, muy buenas también. Es un perfume que tienes que probar ai eres un amante de las rosas.

For anyone who is from India or has been there, this perfume smells like a very expensive Banarasi paan with a sweet, mentholated spicy rose. Its amazing how natural the ingredients smell . This is very oriental, sweet and woody and not at all comparable to western interpretations of orientals like Lancome's Oud Bouquet or Nina Ricci's L'Extase Rose Absolue. And its not turkish delight either so definitely sample before buying.I think people from South Asia and the Middle East will really appreciate the smell as it is so familiar in our culture. The longevity and projection is good and value for money is amazing . My best blind buy so far this year.

I love this perfume! The start is Turkish delights rosy sugar, but not too sweet and then becomes a lovely, lovely, yummy, jammy, but sophisticated and super uplifting rose, a bit tart maybe, but I love a bit of tartness. The sillage is great and the longevity is enormous to me, I can still smell it on my clothes after I have washed them. I have heard it has been discontinued and, if true, it is a real pity! I blind bought it since I love the nose Alberto Morillas and I love the notes, and I have not been disappointed! I believe it can be worn in spring, fall and winter, both day a night, may be too strong with hot weather. To me, it is a 10/10

I don't know if it was just me getting used to such a strong perfume, or you really just have to spray perfumes out of the box and let them sit for a few days before they settle, but the first few times the opening was way too strong and sort of green/plasticky? But I could tell that the heart of it was amazing, and the dry down is perfection. It is as bold as the bottle suggests and now that it has settled, the way I experience it is like taking a walk through a lush garden of tall rose bushes, wearing a warm, soft luxurious winter coat, and eating chocolate covered Turkish delight. Love it.

So I went to brunch with one of my best friends. She whipped out a 50ml of this baby and said “You can have this. It’s so rosy, it turns my stomach!” Girl, say what?? And you know what? It didn’t just turn her stomach, it turned my world out of its axis! I LOVE this. I hadn’t smelled such jammy, rich, juicy and exotic rose centric perfume like this in forever. It’s rosy rosy and rosy. If you are not a rose fan, do not blind buy. It can be overwhelming. But for me, in this case, one man’s trash, it’s another mans treasure!

This perfume is like a good girl gone bad,in a sexy way! I don't normally like rose perfumes,they're too 'vanilla ' for me,but oh,boy,was i wrong! This one is a dark rose,it projects like an animal and it's sexy and elegant at the same time. As everyone else said,i smell rose and pepper and maybe just a hint of leather? Love the opening on this, is a bomb of yummies! Rose,pepper, spices more prominent than the rose funny enough! It sets nicely, woody not very sweet in my opinion, expected sweeter. But is so nice, I honestly can't smell the rose a lot, the spices are much stronger,they are the body of this fragrance surrounded by subtle rose, subtle patchouli.I like this a lot, it was a blind purchase and I am super happy! Bottle is gorgeous too, expensive, chic! Love the concept!

very beautiful and delicate rose fragrance. in the opening i got some fizziness from the fresh sweet rose, remind me of rose flavored drinks. the rose getting jammy in the middle notes and turn dry and powdery at the base. if i sniff on my skin i can smell the cocoa and brown sugar very softly. performance: about 4 hours on skin before it totally gone but it lasted for days on fabric. moderate projection and sillage. not worth paying full price, wait for discount

My second review, now that I have a sample vial: The marketing imagery of a white model in a red dress honestly angered me. This perfume is the definitive scent of Middle Eastern perfumery, yet Chopard has erased any trace of those origins. It feels like a complete rip-off and an act of "white-washing" what is 100% an Arabian scent. It’s disappointing to see a brand act as a racist colonizer of scent profiles without giving credit where it's due!

My top 3 perfumes is Portrait of a Lady, Porpora and Radical Rose. I'm very surprised that Love Chopard despite being very very affordable is of the same level and quality as all my 3 top perfumes. Maybe not as long lasting but that is not an issue since we've all got used to reaplying our fragrances throughout the day. This could easily be mistaken by POAL if they are not side by side. I'm very happy with this fragrance!

Warm, rich, classy and elegant oriental rose. If you expect fresh rose scent, you won’t find it here. It’s a heavy perfume, reminds me of strong rose incense. It’s spicy, but later on also a bit sweet, I believe it’s when the honey starts to appear. It surely leaves impression and I recommend testing it, especially for rose lovers. It’s a hidden gem! (Literally, just look at that beautiful bottle ♦️🌹).

Roses, wonderful roses, pure roses. This perfume is everything I have ever wanted from a Rose perfume-it is romantic and classic without being too sweet or overpowering. It is like a walk on a summer night through a valley of red roses, listening to a very subtle music, reading poetry, bathing in the scent and moonlight. I see it as a red perfume, one to be warn when you want to feel simply beautiful.

I loved the scent initially. It's the perfume which got me to like patchouli. But quickly it developed a rancid smell which makes the perfume unwearable unless I spray it on my clothes a day prior, then that smell evaporates. I can accept that I stored it incorrectly. However, I store all my perfumes the same way and have never run into such issue. Anyone else have the same experience?

This is a very elegant, really well blended & a very lovely "Old School" with a Modern twist of a Floal scent. Powerhouse & for the Price "Simply a Steal!" Was meant to be for my girlfriend as a gift but eventually been worn only by me. Hands down a Unisex scent; at least indoor. So suited for layering, just try it with Ganymede & you'll know waht I'm talking about

Love Chopard è un tributo alla rosa concepita come essenza vera e pura. Per me è infatti una fragranza legnosa, erbacea che rimanda al profumo delle rose in giardino, non recise ma lasciate fiorire sul loro arbusto. Non è quindi una rosa sdolcinata e scontata. La durata su di me è molto buona, almeno 6 ore, anche sui vestiti permane. Lo adoro.

Initial testing on paper produced only sharp potpourri petals. Once I sprayed Love on my arm, I could smell the cinnamon and patchouli. The vanilla is soft. I don't find this gourmand, more amber-floral. I detect no cocoa. Can't wait to sample it as the seasons change. Reminds me of a dry version of Nahema. Intensely rosy but not all green.

I didn't know this scent existed until I smelt the atomizer. Straight away it gives off POAL vibes. That same earthy patchouli rose that also exists in a few other POAL Alternatives. Immediately grab a bottle at $95 sgd (at Mustafa). Overall great scent if you enjoy this dna. Bottle is feminine red but it's unisex and so nice to wear.

This is wonderfull, the deep rose is quite playfull with the spicies, well blended pink pepper with the cinnamon... All tempered somehow by the mandarin/orange that i feel it a lil bitter... Perfaps from the spicies... I found it under a 10 ml flacon, with edp woth 79%... wow... I can't wait to see how will perform.

I was blown away. Harem of Arabia. Regal Roses and Oud blend, a lethal injection of opulence. Top notch quality. Induced false memories of me being a Desert Queen (maybe in my past life?). If you love rose and oud, you'd love this for sure. Projection and staying power was incredible for me.

Just bought another bottle of this because I love it and it’s such good value for 100 ml. As I’ve commented before, this could have been one of THE great rose perfumes if only it had improved sillage and longevity. Buy a big bottle of this and spray a lot!

Leaving this for a couple of months after the first spray did wonders. I was very underwhelmed at first sniff, but now it's developed and I get the chocolaty, spicy undercurrent, which makes it warm and special. So so cheap too!

This is my Portrait of a lady and Radical Rose back up because all three fragrances are identical. I cannot tell whether I'm wearing one or the other. I could just as well copy and paste my Portrait of a lady review here. 😊

So beautiful and such quality for the price. On my skin this is an absolute dupe for Francis Kurkdjian for Elie Saab Essence No1 Rose which sits close and is ever so slightly more resinous.

I like how this one develops over time. Nonlinear experiences are a draw, and this will show you the various rose types as it dries down. Love is a romantic and fickle thing, isn't it?

This could have been one of the great rose perfumes, but longevity and sillage on me are both very poor. I love it but it just has zero staying power.

A Real rose bomb! It starts with a spicy sweet (but not overly sweet) rose with a jammy edge (I used to dislike rose jam, but this does not fully fall in that category, it is really well balanced - it is a Morillas' creation, after all!). Then, it evolves in even more roses - velvety and opulent- over a bed of dark-earthy patchouly and drier woods. There is indeed something smokey (I agree with tobacco and frankincense), a trace of the initial jammy sweetness (well balanced by the patchouly to not fall in the gourmand territory) as well as a bitter-sweet component (cocoa?). The fragrance is very dynamic, it changes frequently, allowing you to detect new facets during all its very remarkable long evolution! The quality is outstanding for the price. It lasts at leas 12-14 h on my skin with an enoumous sillage. The latter - according to my tastes - is even a bit too much. For this reason, I consider this as a "special nights " fragrance - the kind you use when you want to feel like a real diva (but it could work on an elegant man as well) - wearable only in colder months. Thus, Love is not the most versatile fragrance of my collection (luckly, I purchased the 30ml bottle - side note about the bottle: it is good quality and it feels even luxurious, but I don't really like all those hearts - a bit kitsch IMO.). I agree that it has similar vibe to Malle's Portrait of a Lady. The quality is also very good, even if not at the same level of Malle's masterpiece (they are placed on totally different price ranges!). All in all, considering also the limited spectrum of occasions I feel that both fragrances are apt to, I don't feel I need POFAL anymore after buying this little red gem!

blind-bought this one, and i can say i am not disappointed. love chopard is a rough gem, but gem nevertheless. the overall vibe of love chopard is heavy and mature. the rose isn't innocent or girly at all. on contrary - it's dirty and sensual. warm earthy and woody sweet with a spicy aromatic sensation. roses greeted me just by opening the package. after spraying the initial reaction from me was "is there a mossy tone? gives off mitsouko vibes." it's been a while since i smelled mitsouko, and these two fragrances aren't remotely similar, just the really heavy mossy sensation gave me a flashback to the guerlain masterpiece. love chopard is definitely all about roses. but as i have stated above, the rose is dirty and mysterious. freshly sprayed it was a richly woody and spicy cinnamon rose. when inhaling it deeply, it kind of reminded me of an ointment called horse balsam gel which is very spicy and aromatic in scent. a downside is, that i have grown nose-blind to it quite soon, especially as time passed. it was still noticeable and i was aware that i had a heavier kind of perfume on me, but the projection was rather weak as well. that pretty much surprised me because i thought that it being so heavy and rich would make it project massively and last eternally. that is really not the case. after around 4-5 hours it was pretty much gone, only a slightly stronger skin scent remaining. in conclusion, love chopard is a good-quality scent with a few flies, but still works very well. suitable for mature women who are not afraid to come across as a sophisticated baddie. perfect for winter, autumn and colder spring weather and works both during day and at night.

Hmmm. I'm glad this was only $60 as a blind buy. Not cheap, but this wasn't what I was expecting--I know, I know, you can't listen to a list of notes, but c'mon, I thought this was like a rose rosey rosiest rosier rose rosetastic perfume with supposedly ROSE added 6 times? WELL. There's rose...kind of a shy rose that waxes and wanes during the wear. Sometimes I feel like it's been sent underwater and occasionally it comes up for gasps of air. Sometimes there's a bit of thorny stem, sometimes a sense of rose jam is apparent. The same thing goes for the accent spices--the spices are smooth and polite and exist only around the edges, sometimes I can get a HINT of sandalwood too, but it's...not much. Love Chopard though really has a metric ton of violets covered in confectioners sugar. More powdered sugar than violet at that. It's...sweet. Sugary sweet. The sweet sugar powder notes are way stronger and more assertive than the rose notes. I enjoy desserty roses, and would have liked to see some cinnamon, vanilla, and honey notes on their own, but frankly the whole thing dries down to a vanilla so sweet it's more like frosting...it smells close to the dry down of D & G's The Only One, which I do enjoy wearing on occasion, but that's not what I was looking for in this perfume. For people that love cavity inducing sweet perfumes with some suffocated rose notes in there, this isn't a bad way to go but this isn't a spicy, warm rose at all. It's not bad but it's disappointing. ETA: This DOES NOT smell like POAL! Dont buy this thinking that it's a dupe or even a cousin.

This is a very interesting fragrance, but I am having a hard time trying to figure out what this perfume is trying to be. It is listed as an amber floral fragrance. Okay, but I'm also getting elements of an Oriental thanks to the spices, and even a gourmand as there is a candy sweetness in the air around me mingling with chocolate notes. Looking at the note profile I am astonished by how many rose varieties are in this perfume, yet the rose that stands out is the Bulgarian rose. I find Bulgarian roses to have a naturally sweet jamminess to them that is beautifully executed here. That jammy rose also brings to mind other rose fragrances like Stella, Nina Ricci's Rose Extase, and Kirkdijan's Oud Satin Mood. Unlike those, this has a prominent spiciness from the cinnamon and pink pepper that cuts through what might otherwise be an oppressively dense sweetness without them. While I think this is a well-made fragrance that smells a lot more expensive than what is being asked for a bottle, I already have perfumes that resemble this to a degree. Just the addition of spicier notes is not enough to persuade me to purchase. Besides, since this perfume performs so well with so little needed, this decant that the lovely LSAUG sent me should last some time. But if I didn't have a perfume for times when I am in the mood for a sweet and spicy, syrupy, jammy rose, this would have fit the bill nicely.

I blind bought this. I am always interested in cheap roses, and maybe I lowkey collect rose perfumes even if haven't admitted to myself this is so. Bottle is very cute, I have the 50 ml bottle. When first sprayed I smelled a very strong grandma soap smell on the blotter and I did not like it. I got this in the summer and it was a bit much. In my opinion this is very like a bunch of long stem roses, expensive funeral flowers, waxy roses, long stems. This is not fresh summer roses. I don't think I will wear this in the summer, or if I do only at night at an al fresco party. This might actually be an evening perfume and it is quite bold, everyone will smell you for a few hours I think. It smells better on my skin than on the blotter. To me this is all rose all the time, except when it is powdery, I can't place other notes, maybe I will need to sniff for some of the notes listed here. This lasts a long time too! -Returning to say I am not sure I am going to be able to wear this very much. Is very like for a big gala or formal rose or something. I’ve listed it to sell off in end of year declutter.

I've had this now for 4-6 months, can't remember, but I try to write reviews after I've lived with a scent for a while bc they tend to change. Whether that's maceration (debatable) or the more likely oxygen entering the bottle from spraying, it is a real change. The only exception to that rule, for me anyway, is if I love it immediately, then I'll rave as soon as I've tested it. But that doesn't happen often. So, Love Chopard. At first it was a weak rose only with something scratchy, so I put away and waited bc I'm in a real rose phase. Now, it's still very rose but with lovely spices and wood notes in the background. Not too sweet, just rose flower sweet, but that cinnamon is gorgeous along with all the other spices wafting around that rose. Only problem for me is no matter how much I spray, it never gets any stronger or longer lasting. It's somehow "lite". I want to keep spraying to amp it up, but it resists, thus being a tease. I hate being teased by a perfume. I love smelling this from the bottle, but on me it's gone so fast that I get frustrated. YMMV

To my nose, this is very similar to Gucci Oud, a little softer on the oud and harsher on the rose (therefore, more feminine than Gucci Oud). If I had to chose between Love Chopard and Gucci Oud, I’m pretty sure I would go for Love Chopard. Being an oriental woman, this fragrance reminds me of rich oriental women back in the Middle East. Taif rose is a very popular note in authentic oriental perfumes and oils, so it always makes me happy to see western fragrance companies use them. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, maybe it’s the homesickness, but either way I really like this fragrance. It’s rich, happy, timeless and the notes are well blended imo. I’m used to smelling this all year around, even in the heat, so I do think you can wear it regardless of the weather. That being said, I can also understand why people might prefer to wear it in colder months. The only thing I will say is that, to my nose, this is obviously not a very unique scent. However, I still think that if you’re looking for a nice rosey oriental fragrance, this is a very good option.

Only for people who love roses and vintage aesthetics. If that doesn’t sound up your alley don’t buy it just to complain about „old lady smell”. Love Chopard smells exactly like its bottle design- super red, vintage rose upon rose upon rose. A little waxy, almost like a candle- for me it conjures up an image of a red heart shaped cemetery candle snitch, glowing next to a fresh bouquet of flowers laid on tombstone, on a dark, rainy day- must be some childhood memory. There aren’t many notes backing up the rose it might require reapplying. I don’t think it’s necessary a bad thing, because if we added a few more stronger accords the rose could lose its realism, and it would become another „beast mode” fragrance with an abstract take on rose, and there are already a lot of offerings like this on the market- buy yourself a Portrait of a Lady, Rose Tonnere, La Fille de Berlin or Amouage Epic woman if you’re looking for that- they are all great.
