Yay! First discovery from Chris Rusak: it is a whole artistic-olfactory world that opens up to the nose. An extremely particular vetiver that, mixed with fennel and iris root, reaches something like a licorice stick. Very interesting mix. It's green but at the same time very dry, almost smoky, with the dusty feel that would fly to your eyes when you pick up a handful of hay off the ground in the country at dusk in the summer. I don't really have the Angelica aspect, not the paprika directly to the nose either, but I do have the impression of it, which, combined with the cypriol part of the compo, gives me a tiny impression of that smell in South-Asian artifact stores, a fabric smell, a little bit of a sacred aspect - or a chapel, a rather sublime experience, a green and grey Rothko, which Chris Rusak said he was inspired by. A very beautiful representation of a scene that is both sublime and ordinary. We are here in a completely particular world: that of the tiny perfumery and its sketches, which just make you live an aesthetic experience like an abstract expressionist painting, a book of modernist poetry that was a little hidden, dusty, abandoned on an old bookcase, and which is asking you to enter a million worlds in silence.

One of the best nutty/earthy vetiver fragrances around. Had I to place it somewhere in my vetiver fragrances collection, this one would stand on the same shelf with MPG Route du Vetiver, Heeley Vetiver Veritas and Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire. The projection stays close to the skin, but it lasts forever. In a nutshell: stands in the top league of the earthy vetiver offerings. Unfortunately it stands also at the very top of the price list. Should you prefer to keep the expenses at a 'decent' level, I'd recommend RdV instead, that retails for half the price/ml, and is still a top notch vetiver. Fall days, 30+. Edit: No, this one is really top. Worth its price, without hesitation.

love it! this is Vetiver for me! I join as member here just to give review for this beautiful scent..I wont describe the notes or component of it, for that you can read it yourself in Chris website. I will tell you how 33 bring back so many memory of my grandpa old house with all those old furniture, inside dark dry & damp room, breeze of fresh air seeping through wooden window from hot sunny summer outside..really touch personal feeling inside me. can't stop sniffing my wrist from opening to dry down all day long.. definitely full bottle worthy! beautiful creation from Chris Rusak!

gluey, sticky vetiver. It's more of a skin scent than a fragrance. It has vetiver, glue, cypriol, hay, & orris roots. It's very close to skin blend and shouts intimacy & ecstasy. It's like a lighter version of "Turtle Vetiver Back" by Les Nez. This is the only one so far that i would purchase as a full bottle but the major drawback is that when applied on my skin it vanishes right after 30 minutes! dunno know why but unfortunately it does. Quite beautiful.

Famoso does an excellent job describing this fragrance. For me, 33 feels almost linear in its character, while subtly evolving each time I smell. This is a great thing, as I love this scent and it holds true throughout while offering many paths of exploration. One of my faves. I’ll wear this anytime. Unique, distinct, and masterful. I appreciate more and more with each wear.

Wearing 33 is like walking into a fancy library where I know exactly what I'm looking for. The orris note feels like a smooth marble sculpture. This is a vetiver that works in all weather--even humid, 100 F degree days.

At first sniff, I recognize vetiver instantly, then woodsmoke and pepper. It is kind of like the smell of hot skin. Not quite cumin but a bodily spicy smell. Sniffing in the underarm of a lover. Not dirty or smelly, just slightly spiced and alluring. It is a warm scent. There is the faint hint of iris. This would be devastatingly sexy on men or women. Or imagine a campfire on a warm desert night, with herbal plants around you, after a day of hiking the hot earth.

Quite a fascinating scent. Definitely does smell like a library or, as the description says, a natural history museum. It comes across as almost suede-like. There is something sharp in here as well...maybe it's the paprika (a hot version) or cypriol, I'm not sure. This is one of my favorites that Chris has created.

There is something very LA about this perfume to me.. a blast of freshness over something incredibly tightly wound
