Ed Hardy Born Wild For Men

Ah, Ed Hardy. One of the definitive clothing brands for hair gelled, skull and cross t-shirt wearing Jersey Shore dude-bros everywhere. Bruh. Don't let the name steer you away from their colognes though. Ed Hardy fragrances provide, in my opinion, a darn good bang for the buck even if they're a little "generic". Ed Hardy colognes will never break into new territory, but they will never offend. They're incredibly versatile and I think you'd be hard pressed to say it doesn't smell pleasant. My girlfriend loves Born Wild so if that isn't reason enough I don't know what is. I wouldn't say Born Wild is as daring and adventurous as the description and the name imply, but I would say this one is more bold than Love and Luck. Born Wild has a very sweet opening with the orange being the dominant note to my nose. The woodsy notes and pink pepper give it a touch of spice more towards the dry down that round off the sweetness very nicely. The dry down also introduces a strong musky note, and musky scents work well with my skin so for me, Born Wild is a winner. The performance of Born Wild isn't too shabby either and the same goes for the other Ed Hardy colognes. Wearing Born Wild I've been told I smell nice a few hours after application. It doesn't last as long as some of my more expensive colognes, but I'd say you'll get a solid four hours of this at least. The dry down seems to linger for a respectable amount of time for a cologne of this price and more "low-key" house. I could see Born Wild being worn any season day or night. It's got enough sweetness for the summer but enough spice for the winter; the two aspects round each other out well enough to have that sort of versatility which is really what the Ed Hardy fragrances are about. For such a cheap price of entry, Born Wild and some of the others (I own Villain and Love and Luck as well) offer a huge bargain. For as little as $20, maybe even $10 in clearance bins, you'll have a cologne that, while may not make you go "Oh wow!" will have you saying "Nice!" every time.

This one really surprised me! I tested it yesterday afternoon, and the smell on the test strip is still just as strong 12 hours after being applied; and smells even better than it did at first. In my opinion, the mens Ed Hardys have gotten better with each new release. Christian Audigier is so good at what he does; and it would seem he is getting even better... This begins very nice with the orange and the apple being tart and sweet (but not too sweet, like BW for women). The prescence of ambrette seed's woody muskiness and cardamom's smooth spiciness set the stage for the wonderful drydown to come. The heart has florals, yes-jasmine and neroli (bitter dry neroli balances the sweet sensual jasmine quite well); but the ozone and pink pepper keep it airy and sort of zingy...without getting too hot or spicy. This is a very well-blended scent! The drydown is heavenly...if you have ever been to the mountains in California, you know the very distinct smell of the palo verde trees-this captures the essence of that smell along with a very dry, almost soapy sandalwood. Very manly, natural and almost spartan in it's simplicity. No musk, no patchouli, no vetiver-very refreshing and different from all the other mass market mens scents out there. I would say it is a woody green aromatic, myself. Give this a sniff, it might just surprise you...it sure surprised me! Sillage: average to good Longevity; Impressive! Overall: 4.25/5 This is on my list to Santa! The 5 piece gift set (3.4 oz EDT, 3.4 oz shower gel, 2.5 oz deodorant stick, 1/4 oz EDT mini SPRAY and Ed Hardy luggage tag)is the same price (retail) as the large bottle-well worth the price of 75 bucks! I also smelled some of the other new fragrances at the mall...but THIS stole the spotlight from all of them and I can honestly say I'm Impressed!! Somehow I just knew this was gonna be a winner with that name, especially since I'm kind of "wild" myself, and always have been! BIG Thumbs up...way UP!

Ed Hardy Born Wild is another hit from the Ed Hardy brand. This is an awesome scent for all ages. I got this in a swap and man do I love it. It has the sweetness for a youngster but with the woody notes suitable for an older gentleman. I don't get the typical fruityness in it but I do get pink pepper which is fruity but not in a normal way like say citrus or apple way like most fruity scents. This fades into a woody near oud like smell with the Palo Verde wood. It gives off a cleaner vibe to the oud used in the Belcam Classic Match of Polo Supreme Oud. However it is not at all as close to BO as an oud can get. The performance is a year-round night scent. It would work as a day scent in colder weather but in Arizona it screams hot weather night scent. It projects pretty strong for the first hour or so. I wore it today in about 96F heat at 6:20PM walking in a parking lot and got a good wiff and that from two sprays on the back of my neck and one to the chest. It lasts on me for about 6/7 hours in total. Overall, Born Wild is overlooked. Villain for Men and Love & Luck get the lion's share of the press from Ed Hardy's line but this deserves a lot more credit for being such a different scent. That said for me I rank it below Love Is... and Love & Luck in my top three from this house. I rate this a solid 7.8 out of 10 for a great mostly unique smell and a good performance.

This fragrance is very nice and is in no way cheap or boring. I wouldn't call it groundbreaking but it is versatile and easy on your nose. For my skin this projects well out to a few feet when active and comes into the skin at about 7 hours. The heart on my skin is the pink pepper and woodsy notes. It (to me) is a distant cousin of PR One Million on the initial sniff...it has a sweetness that is reminiscent of that bubblegummy aroma at times. However, it's got a darker woodsy/spice vibe brought out with the pink pepper. I would say this is versatile and could easily be a signature scent for work as its sophisticated enough and subtle enough to fit a business casual environment. It could also be a nice scent for dinner dates and some dancing (in walks One Million). Scent- 8.5/10 Versatility- 8/10 Sillage/Projection-7/10 Longevity-8/10 Grade-B+

This was my signature scent for a few years when I first got it in 2010, absolute love at first sniff for me. Sweet orange and apple up top that really lasts the life of the scent! Also with the sweetness in the beginning, it's quite spicy as well thanks to cardamom and pink pepper with some delicate florals in the background that creep in midway through. All drying down on a well done and dominate coniferous woody base. Really aromatic as well. Extremely versatile,(every season but extreme summer heat IMO)very low price, long lasting and terrific/unique smell. More so in 2010 when it was released before the current "pink pepper" craze. Still a wonderful scent that will anyways have a spot in my heart, as well as my collection.

This smells exactly like Coach Platinum

I like it. It smells very good, almost addictive in how grabbing it is. I keep finding myself smelling my wrist. It hits the back of your sinus like salt and vinegar chips hit the back of your throat with the fumes they envelop. As far as paying the $75 you see it listed at retail dept. stores, I wouldn't dream of of it. Instead go over to your local tjmaxx or Marshals and grab it at 60% off of that price. It's on their shelves as we speak. I got the gift set which includes a 3.3 oz EDT, deodorant, and mini EDT for $29.99. It opens strong with a citrusy but also a kind of sweet/synthetic-likeness. After about 10 minutes, it starts getting spicier and woodier but settles down a lot. It is a soft scent, which is a bit on the weaker side of sillage and longevity, but if strong is what you're going for, add more. It also packs quite a punch at the beginning, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of you complaining about poor longevity are just experiencing olfactory fatigue, because this stuff puts our noses through rigorous overload the first 5 or 10 minutes. Definitely worth checking out overall if you like casual, everyday spicy/woody/sweet/fresh scents. Sillage - 7/10 Longevity - 7/10 Scent - 8/10 Overall - 7.5/10.... decent little blind buy.

This is another "Ed Hardy" fragrance that is "meh" to just ok. It smells sweet. This doesn't do too much for me in the way of liking it. This is a good one for casual wear during the day in either Spring or Summer geared more for college age guys. This is one of the few fragrances for men that I can tolerate that has the "apple" note in it. Another thing I wanted to add is when I read the article on this fragrance up above the "perfume pyramid" that says it has "California Palo Verde" note in it. We have those trees growing all over here in the state of Arizona where I reside at. There's a variety of the Palo Verde tree which is our state tree. I've cut into a few of those branches and they do have a unique scent(sometimes)but not the burning of them, though.! I can't recognize that note in this fragrance.

Okay I kind of hate this, but i'm going to be objective and not vote like that lol. This is the spiciest fragrance I own, maybe its just because I don't reach for these things, but its almost like there's not much else BUT spice.... man if you like that I think you'll be happy with this. Reminds me of Mambo for men by Liz Claiborne I bought as a joke in high school, that one actually was more mild and pulled compliments. 4/10 to my nose. 6/10 overall because I understand its trying to be spicy. I would use this as a room spray around thanksgiving time maybe but even then I'd sneeze.

Nice year round scent like everyone posted on here it's a nice scent and it's worth buying if you come across for a discounted price it last quite a while for me around 7hrs I was impressed it was my first time wearing this scent in a while it's been in my bathroom closet for some time close to a year since I've worn it but it surprised me it actually smells better than what I remember I can't explain the notes or smell good but I'll say spicy fresh citrus with a little powdery vibe good stuff check it out

I had no intention on buying a fragrance when I got this guy, but was browsing at Khols and thought id try out a test spray on myself. Over the next hour I couldn't stop smelling my arm. I saw it for $10 at TJ Maxx the next day and picked it up. Its hard to describe this scent, but there is definitely something real good going on here. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you can get it on the cheap like I did I can't recommend it enough.

I picked this up half off discount - blind buy. I have to say that I "done good" grabbing this one. I would certainly not classify it as wild. Fresh and manly is about the best I can do in the description department. It will do just fine for me this spring and summer and will stand above a lot of the popular sport/aquatics that are ever present. If you can get it on the cheap definitely go for it.

This is a nice fruity cologne. Like other reviewers have said, this does appeal to younger guys but I think older or mature guys could pull this off. The longevity and silage is okay but for the price I paid for it, it was worth it.

I tested this at the store... I was surprised it smelled soooooooo dang good! This is the kind of cologne that totally represents me... I really love the smell... I don't like the bottle but the scent is awesome!

It is fruity, not fruity like Aqua Di Gio, but fruity like a kids scent. Not bad, but not for me. I gave it to a friend. It got used instead of just sitting on my dresser.

Good, nice masculine scent. Very woody to me with some sweets. Nothing special at all, but one can have for the ordinary day or night.

Attention grabbing scent Such a shame it has a limited longevity

I've had a tester vial of this one for many moons and would characterize this one as "just okay." Got to figure I would have used the vial up one of those moons had it been better, right? Even so, I recently came across a 1.7 oz. at a discount store for $10. I pulled the trigger as I thought maybe it would make a nice fit as a motorcycle riding scent. For the second time recently, I've been bitten by the reformulation bug on an Ed Hardy fragrance. Both Born Wild and Love & Luck are shadows of themselves. That little tester vial, made all those moons ago by New Wave, that I called "just okay", is volumes better than the new version. While that is not too disappointing for Born Wild, it is a huge let down for me as a old school Love & Luck lover. EA has, indeed, cheapened the price for Ed Hardy fragrances, but in doing so diminished the actual scent and performance. Bottom line for me = New Wave version is a buy; EA version is a pass.

Born Wild?! This is a VERY Neutral fragrance! Not daring, not crazy and not groundbreaking! This is a GREAT work or casual scent for men and that is about it! Ed Hardy/Christian Audigieur scents are BIG right now, because of hype. If you're paying a lot for this scent.............don't! Go on Ebay or some other inexpensive cologne selling site! Tattoo wearing folks need not apply! Laid back and non-rebel type hop on board this wagon!

I have the New Wave formulation. A dry/woody quality dominates this scent (not quite sandalwood but in that direction), and I'd guess it's mostly or entirely aroma chemicals, but it's really on the edge of pleasant for me. If I didn't feel well I certainly wouldn't even think of wearing this one, but if I felt okay and was going to be outdoors in all but very coldest weather I would certainly consider this one. There are also citrus/spicy and musky elements but these are subordinate. Don't expect a bit of vanilla, amber, or tonka. Overall, you can't go wrong on the current prices, if this is what you want, but the EA ones could be quite different, for all I know. Note that I don't think much if any iso e super was used here. UPDATE: The longevity and projection were massive for me, and though I'm not a fan of scents with such strong wood notes that come across as "chemical" this is miles more wearable than something like Terre d'Hermes. UPDATE #2: A few days after first trying this one I tried Creed's Viking, and I consider this similar but more "masculine" (though missing the salty quality of Viking). Viking does eventually go in more of a Pasha direction, but I already have vintage Pasha so there's no reason for me to buy any scent for that reason.
