Ed Hardy Love & Luck for Men

Updated review so I apologize if it looks fairly similar to my previous review: Ed Hardy Love & Luck is an example of don't judge a book by its cover. By looking at it, you may think it might be cologne for the young people and I as a somewhat younger person (29 years old) I wouldn't disagree but it still can be worn by older people. In a way it is. This is a very good scent for an active day. I won't say it SHOULD be worn to the gym but if you have an active day date at say a park, a NASCAR or other form of autorace, football game or baseball game, this is for you. It's also great for vacation and casual wearing. Love & Luck is a surprisingly strong smelling cologne with a slight musk to it even with it not actually being a true note. Maybe that is due to the oud note in the base, making it an intro to muskier scents. Love & Luck is is good as a day cologne as well as a night cologne for spring to early fall. This is because it is lighter being a citrus based scent. It lasts about 6-8 hours surprisingly and is rather pretty good silage wise but not the beast most would complain about it not being. One thing I will say to those who complain about it being for kids, you are wrong. The bottle and packaging design are far more marketed for the younger set or young at heart, but it is a rather playful, mature smell and once it is on, people may not realize it actually Ed Hardy. Love & Luck is a very good scent and one that can be worn by teens and college students or even on vacation by older people or those who want to feel young. Overall I rate it 8.2 out of 10. If you want a more mature take, go with Sean John Unforgivable.

To sum it up quickly this is 1 of my favorite scents ! And it shares partnership with Aventus as my signature scent and for good reason. The scent alone on this is amazing and dont let the Ed Hardy name fool you, this is very well done. To describe this scent id use adjectives such as fruity,fresh,sexy and appealing and women love this stuff ! I have close to 40 frags and next to Aventus this is my most complimented fragrance but easily the most complimented frag when it comes to the ladies. Projection wise id say this is decent. Its nothing beastly but people WILL smell you but not in an overpowering way. This has just the right amount of projection if you ask me. Longevity is really good on this as well. This lasts me on average about 6-10 hours.(6 in the winter and 8-10 hrs in the summer) Another interesting note about this is that its very signature scent worthy for a guy in the 16-30 year age range as it works well all year round and is not pricey. Yes its better suited for the summer but its done well for me in the winter as well surprisingly. For me though the different seasons make the smell differ. In the Summer it smells more fresh,fruity,juicy and really compliments the citrus but in the winter it smells a lot more smooth,floral and the violet is brought to life a bit more. None the less it smells amazing all year ! Id personaly rate this a 8.75 out of 10... The only thing that keeps me from giving this a 10 is that even though its great as far as smell,compliments and performance it does lack originality.

My opinion on this frag have changed significantly since I first picked it up. When I first got it, I sprayed it on the back of my hand and went "Yeah, that's alright." I then would occasionally wear it during those late summer days where I wanted something a little citrusy. It when when I saw a shower gel for Love and Luck at a good price and said to myself "Citrus in the morning would be nice." I now have to say, I went from liking this to loving it! I find that I wear it more than Millisime Imperial on the days it would be suited for. I feel like it's just got something to it! I find it to have a very lovely divergence from Millisime, and while it does not last over 5 hours I still love every minute I do wear it. It may be that I'm just more familiar with it now and that familiarity makes me like it more. That may be the case, but that doesn't change the way I feel about Love and Luck. Don't blame Ed Hardy for the trashy reputation his clothes got him, the dude is a fantastic tattoo artist, and though Christian Audigier is a greedy bastard this stuff is pretty bomb. Wear it in Spring, Summer, Or even Fall if you want to. It won't offend anyone, but do not expect super performance. It has a little better performance than the creed if that's what you care about, but honestly they have quite a few difference so I think comparing them directly is a bit unfair. If this was a song it'd be anything by 311. I mean, look at it.

After all this time this is still a scent I come back to ! Now that I have a more experienced nose I do get tired of this easily but damn is this stuff pleasant ! It opens up with a smooth,citrus and fruit punch type of vibe but then dries down to a very sensual,sporty aromatic,masculin green vibe with that violet leaf. I love scents that do the smooth violet rather than the sharp violet like in Fahrenheit and Love n luck does that violet leaf very nicely in this fragrance. Another reason I come back to this stuff is it definitely WILL get you compliments as it’s very smooth and doesn’t really have anything that will offend anyone. This was actually the first cologne that really got me unsolicited compliments and still works to this day. Also my fiancée really enjoys this and at 1 time it was her favorite cologne of mine. Performance on this is 4-6 hours with the current formulation but the older formulation used to last me 6-10. Which is excellent for a fresh summer type of scent. Overall rating —8 out of 10 ! An oldie but goodie that’s very pleasant and still to this day in my top 10 most complimented

While Fragrantica has only one fragrance profile for Love and Luck for men, there really should be two. The first profile would be for the original carrying the Christian Audigier moniker and was made by New Wave Fragrances. The second profile would be for the current version of the fragrance made by EA. Unfortunately, naming is about all these two have in common. My "Love" vote here on Fragrantica is only for the New Wave version. Unfortunately, I'd have to vote "Dislike" for the EA version. So, if you are considering this one at a department or discount store, pay close attention to which maker's juice you are about to buy. If you want the one that provides a solid scent and performance, hold out until you find the New Wave version. Just know it may cost a little more (maybe $20 for 1.7 oz.), but I find it to be worth the difference. If you are okay with a SIGNIFICANTLY different and less potent fragrance, then take the gamble on the EA reformulation. Just know there is a reason a 3.4 oz. now costs the same $20 a 1.7 oz. used to go for.

After spending more time with this Love & Luck, I decided to rewrite my comment here. So here it goes. Love & Luck begins with a strong and fresh citrus notes, which makes it feel a bit generic like many citrus aromatic or sport fragrances. (To be specific, it smells like Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise for Men at the top.) It's very likable and wearable for anybody. Then the scent starts to evolve into Fougere category but not really Oriental. Oud and cypress really shine here while citrusy top still hang around; never left the party. Oud is also rich and has a bite to it. Vetiver is clean but doesnt stand out. In addition, spices in this scent are mild; hardly detectable. Overall, I like this scent a lot and find myself use it more often than anything. I love the clean and sweet woody scent with slight freshness of citrus. The scent may appear typical but the heart and the base are worth waiting for. Now one thing I always complain, I hate the bottle design!

This one is sweet and green/herbal to me. I really pick up on the absinth, violet & sage the most. I tend to like these types of scents, & Love and Luck reminds me very much of two other fragrances that I own - (Sean John's Unforgivable and Usher's UR). It has that same green vibe with almost a sweet, bubblegum type layer under it. I'd say Unforgivable is a bit heavier/oriental & more suited for winter and Usher's UR is perhaps a bit more herbal and less sweet, but both share the same overall vibe and smell as Love & Luck. I'd definitely say anyone who likes Unforgivable, UR, or even Creed's MI, would enjoy this. I think these all have a absinth/artemesia/wormwood note, and as I understand, they are all from the same plant family. I think this is the sweet/green note that I am picking up in common with these scents that I like.

Good fragrance with a nice looking bottle. It's worth the price and can be blind bought, especially for teens or people starting out. It's fresh, clean, and won't offend anyone. *** this is for the New Wave version. Avoid the reformulated one from EA ** A good fragrance to wear for dates or night outs. Very versatile and can be worn in most seasons. It smells somewhat similar to Unforgivable/Millesime Imperial, but more citrusy. A scent that wouldn't offend anybody. If it had better longevity, I would give it 5 stars and be considered amongst the best fragrances on the market. My s.o. used to wear this all the time back in 2013-2014, and it is one of my favorite men's colognes. It has a fresh smell that is addicting. I'm not going to be great about explaining notes, but if you like fresh colognes, definitely try this one. In general, I love citrus top notes, aquatic notes, green notes, and woods. This cologne, Hearts & Daggers, and Skulls & Roses are prob my top 3 fav Ed Hardy colognes; I do remember liking Villain, too, but haven't smelled it in years, so can't compare. Just know that this one, Skulls & Roses, + Hearts & Daggers are colognes I could not get enough of when my s.o. would wear them. Sprayed Skulls & Roses on my pillow before when I missed him 😆 But Love & Luck smells amazing. Like kryptonite for me 😅

Love & Luck works better on summer or at the gym. Projects well for 2 hours, then dies down to a small bubble around me for more 2 or 3 hours. It lasts on skin for 6 hours. It's light and refreshing, so it won't offend people. Girls said to like it, when asked. It can get compliments but nothing out of the ordinary. It's a good everyday scent. It's mostly a gym scent for me. 1 Spray to the gym does the trick. Projection: 3/5 Longevity: 3/5 Scent: 4/5 Versatility: 4/5 Compliments: Hmm, some. Extreme Compliments: Nope. Overall: 3.5/5 (PS: It's a good alternative to Millesime Imperial, but if you want an amazing fresh scent that lasts and projects for real, get MI on a split. It's worth it).

I got this for $20 at TJ Maxx, how cheap could it get. After searching for anything that smells close to Sean John's Unforgivable, I found this is the closest. I love Unforgivable and it's one of the colognes that had me fall in love with fragrances, but it's impossible to find the original, most of them are reformulated. I don't care much about Creed MI; I sample it at a store once before and I didn't buy it because it didn't smell anything to Unforgivable. Anyway, this is very very cheap frag that has no longivity nor anything that will wow you. The only reason I like is it's the closest thing to unforgivable.

I don't care what anybody says about it, this is currently my favorite cheapy. It smells exactly like Sean John unforgivable. Is it synthetic? A little bit, but not bad enough that it gives you a headache or anything. I got a bottle for $10! .... $10!!! Update: a few months have past and I still love this stuff. It’s a bit weak so I spray more, but the salty fruity notes just do it for me. I’ve nearly gone through a 30ml already and I have at least 50 other fragrances to choose from - ranging from niche, to discontinued, to high end designer. I just love this cheat synthetic sucker

an excellent fresh and semi sweet blend with LOTS of exotic notes and high quality its definately a great scent to buy and perfect to wear anytime, but its a very sexy option if ur clubbing or going out, it has everything a guy needs to smell good and this one uses agarwood in the place of ur typical aromatic smokeys to give a richer tone and the musk and spice work perfectly here to give a very fresh and clean fougere with oriental warmth and exotic stuff and a very hip guy guy scent that is NOT the slightest bit unisex id buy it but its too expensive and dosent last long

I was going to get Creed MI but figured I'd save some money and track this down...I don't have the two to do a side my side comparison, all I know is that I completely adore this fragrance. I didn't really like the one other Ed Hardy fragrance I tried so I was still cautious that I maybe wouldn't like this, despite kinda knowing what to expect. So glad I got it...love it! Really is fresh and evolves beautifully on my skin, true depth with a great, light citrusy opening exactly the kind of thing I like. Very wearable stuff.

This is a hidden gem. Masculine, slightly sweet, fresh musky. At this price point can't be beat. I like the bottle and the name too, but I understand if that's not everyone's cup of tea. I promise no one will know you're wearing cheapo Ed Hardy when you're wearing this. It's easier than many of the popular similar colognes, like Aventus or Millesime, but it definitely belongs in that similar vein. Also much less placeable than say Diesel Only For the Brave, which is my other favorite, but far too overused.

The first time I sprayed it, I instantly got those salty sweet, metallic fruity vibes that reminded me of Creed Millésime Impérial. It's got that same fruity citrus opening with a luxurious metallic sea vibe but not as much in your face. Is it as refined or natural smelling as Creed? No, but for the price, it gets close. Love & Luck is a bit sweeter more citrusy and easy going. while Millésime leans a little more elegant and airy and more metallic. 8/10 I would buy again.

I really like this one. It starts very citrus, sweet and fruity (I don't like too much the opening) but after 1 minute it becomes salty and crazy, reminding me a lot Creed Imperial Milessime. With the salty vide it get woody, a little powdery and floral. Good aromatic fragrance, good for summer days, school and weekends. Unfortynately it is synthetic. And the price is amazing (I paid 17 usd for a 50ml + 30ml. bottle) Good longevity 7 hours, and a light sillage.

Guys this is a MASTERPIECE for the summer you won't regret buying this.I tested it 2 days ago and fell in love with it immediately.It lasts long and it projects very good too.The scent is orange-citrus vibe exactly made for the summer.So far for compliments it's a beast it won't disappoint you,even it will get you more compliments than Millesime Imperial. I am going to say that this smells prety good, but a lot of colognes do and this is one of those contemporary light and fresh scents for the young college crowd. Too many people are buying and wearing this and you gotto have a "cutting edge" with your style and stuff like this fresh light subtle stuff just makes u another one of those guys however, this is fairly expensive and it just dosent last that long.

I picked up a 50ml bottle at TJMax for $10. I couldn’t pass it up for that price. This isn’t the best fragrance in my collection, but it’s solid. And it’s a no brainer for the price. This is the prefect fragrance to spray on in the morning on the weekend in the summer when you are just hanging around the house. It’s light, fruity, no offensive, and screams summer. It has average performance. A nice pickup.

Picked this up on ebay for ten pounds for 50 ml and can honestly say tat i am impressed it does smell exactly the same as sean john unforgivable and creed mi with the only difference being price as sean john seems to be hard to find these days and creed being rediculously overpriced ... Anyway nice crisp fresh citrusy fragrance with excellent sillage and longivity a definite must buy

Es una excelente fragancia, la verdad les gusta a todos, muy sensual y para seducir, al aroma sinceramente le doy un 8.5/10, pero lamentablemente no dura, creo que 3 horas decentes y de allí a ras de piel tal vez 1 o 2 horas más, en todo caso puede ser muy útil como para una noche de pasión con tu novia, esposa, amante, en fin... pues no es invasiva, es muy agradable.

Same DNA as the Creed Milesime Imperiale which I don't own, saltier than the more citric Sean John Unforgivable that I do own. Lasts longer than SJU, musky woody base for men skin like a Sel D'Issey. Glad I could find a bottle for cheap, it was definitely worth it. Apparently has been discontinued for a while with some stock left here and there

i see a lot of complaints about silage and longevity. why do you want a -$20 fragrance to perform so so good lol you pay for what you get this is a GREAT fragrance for the price, if you want to wear during a date in the spring and summer, the silage and longevity is actually a good thing as you want a woman to get close to you good luck fellas

This was one of my favorites in high school. It's just a nice, fresh, somewhat generic clean guy smell. Generally appealing to most. I found a bottle for $20 at Ross the other day and grabbed it for nostalgia. I recommend it as a good safe starter cologne for your teen dudes and your nostrils when they drown themselves in it. Lol.

Ed Hardy Love & Luck for me is a very woody, fresh, citrusy scent, some people say it's a high school teeny bopper scent, i disagree, this is a very modern classy fruity scent, perfect for spring/fall to refresh the senses, its very casual non offensive fragrance. In the drydown its gets a bit spicy and relaxed, good stuff!

The opening of this fragrance is strong and sharp. All throughout the life of the scent the citruses are noticeable the entire time. That's Love and Luck in a nutshell hence the note pyramid having all the fruits being the predominate notes. This is one of my favorite fragrances because its SUPER easy to pull off.

La verdad cuando la compré me decepcionó al principio, pero luego le tomé el gusto... Dejé de usarla por un mes, la volví a probar uf wow, esto huele excelente, no se que pasó pero ahora me encanta, de hecho recibí cumplidos con esta fragancia. Por su precio la recomiendo para una compra a ciegas.

If you want to poison your women work mate then use this on a daytime. On a blind buy bases, this I don't regret. Since the name Ed Hardy is an artist, like heap of his other stuff this perfume is entitled to his colorfull design and you can expect the juice coming out of it

Tried a sample. Light & inoffensive. Don’t love it enough to purchase a full bottle but I like it. Opens with citrus. Followed by herbal notes. Woody notes & really pick up the vetiver & violet. I’d say 7/10. Nice fragrance. Doesn’t seem to project very much tho.

Refreshing and sweet perfume, absolutely great for casual use but all arounder. I like it a lot, now I have one more collection added to my wardrobe thanks to my supplier.

Besides being a close copy of Imperial Milesime by Creed, it is an amazing fragrance on its own, Congratulations to the House of Christian Audigier!!!!

nice scent but staying power is not too good so i would reccomend buying the 3.3 ounce tester if u can get a good deal

Happy 2011 people!!! Hope u guys have a great time, as I have mine XD So, for the new year, I kick start with this fragrance review (its been a while since I last did mine, been busy working). On my skin: Top: I get synthetic like aquatic scent, with some tutti-fruti like smell hidden behind it, and strange accords of spicy, wood-like scent. Lingers around 2-3hours. Middle: this sharp-like scent dies down, the tutti-fruti like scent pushes up, but not pro founding, just sits there quietly, with fresh-green scent pops in (this is where this thing becomes AWESOME). Lingers around 2-3 hours. Base: dries down into an amber like scent, with some flower like sweet scent. 1-3 hours. The scent is not bad. But, the scent is seems to be quite common, this....fresh, woody, gourmand, aquatic like vibe. 100% daily scent or work scent, its not offensive, it doesn't really scream. Good projection, when customers are close to you, they can scent it. To safe for clubs. No way it can cut smokes. Any guys can wear this all year round. College and up. Youngsters can pull this off easily. Kind of funky for adults, so best on youngsters to me =) But this scent is an amazing lady killer. Put on the shower gel to add 10-15% longevity, put on the deodorant under your armpits for 10-15%% projection + longevity, and wrap it with 1-2 on your neck and 1 on each wrist. All this will add 'volume' to the fragrance. Girls love this. Hahaha! So I encourage ALL Love and Luck fans to grab the gift set. The set is worth it if you want that projection and longevity. =)) The country I am in has no 4 seasons, so it is either hot or cold weather. This works very well on both, but better on the heat. My rating (base on 5 stars) Scent: 4 (Quite common-like vibe, but the tutti-fruti like scent scores extra 1 point). Sillage: 3 (not bad, it is a 4 if you use the shower gel and deodorant). Time length: 3 (5-8 hours on my skin, mmm....dun expect much from fresh fragrance even with the shower gel and deo). Occasion: 4 (all rounder jack of trades, but not for clubs). Overall base on mathematics: 3.5 @ 3.75/5 Nothing to shout out from this fragrance. Quite common, safe-scent, non-offensive kind of vibe. Nicely done opening and dry down. Artwork of the bottle is great, but I hate how they design the bottle. Kind of not user-friendly.

Went to my local Kohl's today and gave this a shot, 4 to be precise. I was looking for something to use indoors in heated rooms or to hold onto for the summer. Smell wise, this sarted very nicely being an orange cream drink, Orange Crush being the mostaccurate representation I can think of. Like I said, I went 4 sprays to test because the first spray faded after a few minutes which I attributed to testing several others (smelling caps really), then added 2 more with a 3rd that just grazed my hand. Well, it still smelled very nice. Fast forward about 30 minutes, 4 sprays stacked ontop of eachother more or less had close to dissapeared. What was left still smelled okay, pretty much like a free sample I got from Fragrencenet Exceptional...because you are for men which I compared to an "our interpretation of D&G Light Blue" I got for $1 at my local dollar store. Final Verdict: Smell: Starting off an 8, it had a very interesting smell, but after ~30 minutes it turned into nothing worth smelling. Longevity: 4, didn't last more than an hour beyond a slight hint that it was once there. Projection: 4, didn't do too bad for the first few minutes but afterwards you have to be touching another person for them to smell it.

Ed Hardy is a bit of a 'gimmick' brand....but that's no biggy, what matters here is the juice and this juice is ok. First time you spray it, you might think this is some sort of bubble-gum-Acqua-Di-Gio or but let's be honest, fragrance is about reaching for a quick spritz of something that makes you feel good - no snobbery required. Is Love & Luck generic?.....yes but in a smaller arena of other similar scents. Is it powerful?.....no but any more potent would make it. Young or old?......definitely for the younger crowd with that bubble-gum-cloy going on. :o) That said it is vibrant, fresh, juicy-citrus and woods with a hint of spice all nicely balanced. Perfect for summer, really very nice and very affordable too. 3 or 4 sprays and I get about 5 hours longevity but it definitely has an 'aura' rather than a projection. However, use this on a hot sunny day and the projection level goes up but then the longevity also drops away too. Slight drawback overall is that if you use other higher quality scents and then go back to this you immediately realize that this is heavily synthetic so some may love this and some may absolutely hate it...........but that's Marmite for ya. :o)

A rather good mainstream fragrance - but not bad at all. Some very good reviews here, so I don't need to go over notes and be repetitive. Nattonline, JustinV, Jack_Hunter and SnowStorm cover it well - good job by all. I basically had a lot purchase of Men's and Women's Ed Hardy bottles a couple of years ago and pulled some out in the last 9 months or so (going back to fall in California). This is one the of best releases, but all-in-all, if you can get past the cheesy graphics and the "Burger King" crown on the Christian Audigier for Him bottle, there are some decent scents here. Nothing collectible - but wearable, spray-and-go scents that are never offensive and some even offer a nice refreshing note. Interestingly, a lot of the bottles in the Ed Hardy line have a booze note of some sort (alcoholic beverage association)...definitely for the "party crowd" and hookin' up. Not class, but more sass in the juice you get. Decent stuff for the price. "Love & Luck" - something we all hope for in life. I like it, but don't consider myself at all in "love" with it or, somehow, "lucky" to have it. But, it puts a smile on a face or two around me. Just for kicks...

OK, so I'm a woman, and I certainly never would have even looked at this scent if I hadn't won it. I certainly never would have spritzed a bit on my hand if my husband wore cologne and I could have therefore given it to him. But he doesn't wear cologne, I won it, and I did spritz a bit on my hand. All the scents in the fragrance are ones I absolutely adore, and I actually like the scent. I think, if I'm careful in the application and don't get carried away, that it will work OK for me to wear it. It has a bright, citrusy/herbaceous opening, with a bit of a floral middle and a very lovely woody dry-down, with the vetiver adding a sweetness to it. Please try it out if you are interested in it - it is a unique scent and therefore not for everyone. (EDIT) *laughing* Shows what I know - I have just found out that Ed Harvey is like some sort of cultural icon or something. I never heard of him before today ... I guess I'm not up on the hip and happening! (end EDIT)

Picked up a sample of this based on some of the reviews and I'm pleasantly surprised how great it is. Even with the Ed Hardy reputation of being Dbag fashion this fragrance is really good. A clean fresh aromatic citrus and absinthe with some sweetness and maybe a hint of woodyness. In a sea of similar shower gel freshy and blues this stands out as unique and enjoyable. It's not the typical profile one would associate with similar peer groups like most Paco Rabanne or Nautica fragrances, Love and Luck comes off as more confident and sophisticated among it's contemporaries. I like that it changes up a bit throughout wear as well revealing notes that cycle in an out. I could wear this year round but most people would probably agree it does best in Spring/Summer. For the price you can't go wrong unless you hate smelling nice, in which case why would you be here to begin with right? Definitely picking up a full bottle, cliche Ed Hardy artwork aside.

I think Love and Luck is a good choice for a teenager or someone who's just getting into fragrances. It's hard to dislike this as it's pretty inoffensive and generally has a clean, crisp feeling. It's a fruity, watery scent that actually pulls compliments and can be worn in pretty much any situation. These days it's inexpensive and you can find it in places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's for a good price. It projects well and the longevity is around 6 hours. I also like the container that houses the bottle, it's a little cheesy but overall it's fun and well-made. Much less obnoxious and tacky than the clothing line, Ed Hardy's Love and Luck deserves a thumbs up for it's simple, pleasant smell. By the way,this doesn't smell like Millesime Imperial. So if you're looking for a substitute, look somewhere else.

I just got this one a few days ago and I do like it. It is a nice change from some of the heavier power house frags I've been sampling (Givenchy Gentleman / Amani Eau Pour Homme/John Varavatos). I have seen this one at the store many times and have always passed it up. It was the packaging that really put me off. I don't care for the Tatoo style artwork that is all over the box and bottle cap. Just seems tacky. That said - due to the positive responses at various forms regarding this cologne and the similarity to Creed MI I have given this one a shot. I get a lot of citris but not too lemony from this frag with just a little musk. There are a few other spices but I can't quite make out what they are. This is an overall pleasant frag and will be in the rotation this summer.
