Ed Hardy Skulls & Roses for Him

An excellent scent for the money. It does smell almost identical to Montblanc Legend, as I have both. I can say that I like Skulls and Roses better. My wife actually likes it better than Legend as well. I haven't tried Fierce. Initially what caught my attention was the skull bottle, and I thought oh this is going to be another cheesy fragrance, I gave it a spray test in Target and went home. I immediately could tell that I liked it, the main thing that I liked is that it was different, and smelled good. I went back and bought the bottle a few days later. Skulls and Roses is less complex and refined than Legend, it is more raw and primal. Legend is a tiny bit more spicy in the top notes. Skulls smells great on clean skin. It does not project well or last long, which is something I actually like, as it's more something to put on when you want to boost the confidence a little or do something that takes risks, without getting everyone's attention. I don't get random compliments from this scent, but I DO get complimented every time I get a hug or a kiss from a woman, so what does that say? Only people that get close enough can actually smell it. I do think it would be nice to have more longevity and projection with it but I also think it's nice that it is a bit stealth so it can be worn for different situations. Montblanc Legend is a more professional smelling scent that smells a bit more formal. Fierce... I have yet to try, I am having trouble getting over the manly six pack bottle. Skulls and Roses is more of a casual every day scent that doesn't overpower.

Has a nice smell, but this is really for romantic wear in my eyes because it is VERY soft. Next to no projection except when first sprayed but that is gone within 30-60 minutes. Now the longevity is moderate but anything anybody smells after 2 hours will be a faint wiff but if they like it, they might want to get a little closer;) I'm 18, but really, I love heavy scents but this scent is the one that everybody would hate if it was overpowering. So really, if I continue to like it, I will definitely buy another bottle. I realize some people have said that this is a enormous or heavy fragrance, well don't pay no attention to them because they have never owned anything that costs more than 20 dollars to begin with:)

I though this would be darker and muskier than Mont Blanc and Fierce but I find it more aquatic and easier to wear. I don't own Legend, but I do own and love Legend Intense. I wear it for my lady. I wear this one for myself, it's my leave in the bathroom weekend fun cologne. One spray to the back and it's with me all day but isn't offending anybody. When I spray it, it has an Axe cloud of nasty aerosol smell but that leaves when you walk away lol. I didn't expect much, buying it for about 20 Cad$, but it's way better than I thought it would be. This is great to have around for casual and fun days.

I'll admit the bottle design is what drew me into this. I'm not much of an Ed Hardy person, but I really do love this dark witchy skull design. I'm surprised by how much I actually like the scent itself. It's incredibly well-balanced. The lavender and spices are so wonderfully elegant and the oakmoss never overpowers them. The drydown is a little bit soapy. It's a dark scent, but a clean and fresh dark scent. There's something oddly touching about it, it's very sensitively done. Love.

My hubby has this and I love how it smells on him! He bought me the matching perfume as well, because he said it smells great too. I recommend this for men, and go get your wife, girlfriend, or significant other the matching perfume. I happen to like the bottle. It's not about how the bottle looks, it's how it smells that matters to me.

I have went from like to love over the last few months. My ONLY complaint is that the lasting power is NOT good enough. However I'm satisfied with the siliage because I personally believe that if it projected more people would probably not like it. Either way they need to release an intense EDP version NOW.

Good one love it, smells really nice - reminds me alot the Mont Blanc, just better (have them both), and like the Fitch smell is cool freshy and lime, i love it. it also cheap, unlike the mont blanc or the Fitch (costs twice as much)

This is a classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. This fragrance smells just like Fierce except with better silage and better longjevity. FOR HALF THE PRICE! WHat? Test it I'm tellin ya

I was impressed with this one as well, I know every 18 year old has this due to the bottle... but it did not reek of cheap 8$ target clearance perfumes like I thought it would.

I Libbyanne do solemnly swear to suck the face off the first guy I catch the sniff of smelling of this yummy cologne. This will drop the panties faster than cherry brandy.

Since it is Halloween I picked a skull shaped cologne to do a review... I present to you my humble opinions on Skulls and Roses. I am aware of the Ed Hardy brand but this is the first cologne I have inhaled from that dude Ed, and thought wow this does not smell like death, skulls, or roses. It has a bit of sweet and citrusy touch mixed with a smooth musky scent which is a nice touch. Judging by the skull bottle I expected more darker tones like vampire blood or zombie tears, not a fresh day scent. But that is not bad because I would tend to lean more to a Legend Montblanc imitation rather than Fierce. But hey being compared to both of those brands is a positive thing right? Err maybe. It is a bit weak in the longevity department and would be my back up to Legend. And Legend is my back up to Fierce. How long is this line going to continue haha! But lets talk about the main sell for this cologne and it is of course the 3-D skull bottle. If I just leave this on my counter for my family and friends to see they would think I am into voodoo or witchery. This black skull sold me and it turned out to be a blind buy. It is not the only skull shape bottle on the market but it looks very cool and it does not feel cheaply made. Although it is not made for Halloween it is cool little potion and if you find it you must check it out. Time to go trick or treating! 7 out of 10

Sick bottle broh! You lobotomize it to see what's inside, and what do you find? Well... I mean... obviously the sprayer... but seriously, you find something that falls short of the likes of Chanel's Platinum Egoiste. Just baaaarely short of both A&F Fierce, MB Legend (only because I smelled them side-by-side)... but I'll take it over the chemical mess that is Perry Ellis Portfolio Elite... Wait!... It cost how much!? Give me three of these skull bastards and lets make a totem!!! This stuff is a bargain! As far as price-to-quality goes, if you aren't getting Chanel PE, you might as well get this. I have all of the aforementioned, and let me tell you... The chicks that dig this scent aren't gonna tell the difference between this or any of the others (maybe not even Chanel PE tbh). Also, it will look siiiick on your dresser or next to the lamp on your night stand, or on top of that stack of textbooks you rarely open. The sorority chicks are gonna dig this package the best... and you'll have to keep it there because this bulky thing sure as hell isn't going to fit in the bathroom behind the mirror with your pill stash.

A young attractive guy wanting to smell fresh but not caring too much about what he sprays on and just picks something up and put on three sprays before heading out to a rock concert. That is my initial mental image for Skulls and roses. I like these simpler smelling scents too. You can never achieve this really laid back casual attitude with a big cinnamon, a powerhouse floral or a spicy Tom Ford. Because when it smells expensive and rich, it also smells like you are 'trying' to smell good which might not be what you want to project. I can attest to an alcoholic beginning and some detergent aspects but when you smell it in the air from your arm after 10 minutes it smells very good. I really like to douse myself in this and I've got a compliment after several hours (from someone smelling it right off my chest). But I feel it's a pretty stealthy musk to the sad point I would like more out of it. It starts pretty very strong but it fades within the first hour. I would love this with a touch more spice and a bigger cloud.

I bought Skulls & Roses for Him strictly for the bottle, not really caring what the fragrance was like. I finally decided to try it after having quite a few chuckles at the expense of the dude with a rose between his teeth. What a pleasant surprise! Skulls & Roses is a smooth, almost velvety, lavender heavy scent. I have Montblanc Legend EdP and the two are quite similar, almost redundant. However, given the low price, Skulls & Roses is worth it just for the bottle. The scent is very versatile, just like Legend. As far as performance goes, Legend EdP is better there. Skulls & Roses would be good as a lighter fragrance where you want to be more conservative with the sillage and projection. No slouch with longevity, I got about 5 and a half hours out of it. Overall nice scent, crazy bottle and well worth the price. Tip: to easily remove the skull top (which forms the cap) do not lift it straight off, rotate it.

It smells exactly like an Abercrombie store... something your older brother would wear in 2006. Think about a high school boys locker room if you just focused on the AXE body spray. It smells good regardless, nothing offensive, just generic. I bought a bottle of this in the mall when I was a teenager and it is definitely something a high school boy would pick out. Honestly, I think I just liked the skull bottle haha. I actually still like it, although I have a soft spot for super nostalgic and masculine colognes like this. If you're looking for a unique signature fragrance this is NAWT the one. Every 13 year old boy has a deodorant or cologne just like this.

To jasonx: Yes! The Fierce bottle is indeed tackier. Man abs? I'll take a bad-ass skull any day of the week, or year, or century or millenium over that! Oh yeah. Skull and Roses is a nice scent. Soft and warm. I won't replace it but I like it. My wife bought Fierce for me years ago. Funny I didn't care for it...and that was before the horrible current Fierce bottle. Mine had a simple red "Fierce" script. If you actually own a man card, skulls are always cooler than man boobs and abs. Look it up!

TBH I hated this when I got it and smelled the first few spritz’. Really distasteful alcohol opening with a super soapy hand soap dry down. BUT after letting this sit for a week, I find it decent now. The notes such as the bergamot have really settled in after a few shakes and sprays. Same with the lavender which was really synthetic but now is a fine, middle of the road lavender note. I generally use this one as a quickie or as a one spray top layer when putting on multiple scents.

This one is a very deep masculine scent that to me is like the college version of Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce, which I consider like a HS teen smell. Similar, but a bit more "rough edges" vibe than "boy toy". For example, I had a bottle of it through my mid to late 20s, my 19 year old cousin came over, started smelling my colognes, and just obsessed over it so I gave it to him. It still smells pretty decent if even a bit generic.

My sister blind bought me this as an early birthday present. I also expected it to smell darker, but I still liked it at the first spray. The lavender is definitely on top with a lot of citrus. The cardamom comes through more to me when it starts to die down a bit. I wish it was just a bit spicier but it is a good average day time scent. I don't have many of those in my collection so far so I'm glad to have another.

I like his scent but my wife hates it. I chose to buy it because I smelled it on someone and liked it. it smells very similar to A&F but i think the bottle is much cooler. I dont care if it looks cheap to some ppl. I dont wear cheap clothes I own all the other expensive colonge brands and yet Im not biased because of a damn bottle. Its a love or hate colonge all depends on personal preference

Smells like your curves from liz claireborn and Lucky you from Lucky brand!! Honestly it has a place in my heart because those other 2 frags I mentioned here where my scent in middle school!! Clean soapy scent for juveniles

This thing smells exactly what you would expect from a skull bottle. It stays on after a shower (If products unscented) On me it smells very fuzzy and rosey. It is just quite an experience to smell.

A great cheap version on Mont Blanc Legend. It actually gets compliments and is great for any occasion. I like it best just for running errands and hanging out

Great price for a generic, aromatic, Abercrombie fierce-like scent that comes in an interesting bottle and is great for all seasons! Overall, 8.5/10 👍

Opening smells fresh and airy. Enjoy it quite a bit. Does highly resemble the Fierce DNA for about 10min. Then the oakmoss really comes through and all that's really present. I don't care for it that much. Wish they would drop the base notes and find a way to enhance performance of top/mid base notes. Happy with a .30mL, wouldn't purchase again.

A fresh herbal scent! First spray was lime and pine and mint. Soon it became a fresh soapy lavender. Smells like a good shaving cream.

Smells pretty bad in my opinion. It is so basic. I guess you can't ask for much more, but this scent reminds me of a middle school locker room. Not for me, but only because it is just so so so generic. You'd be better off with an AXE body spray, which is oddly the closest thing to this scent I can think of. The performance is also pretty awful at least on my skin. On clothes it lasts but what doesn't last on clothing? Probably can blast this thing all year round if you'd like to, because one thing it is actually good at is being inoffensive. If you like basic gym scents that you can blast and nobody will like but nobody will really hate? Go for it. The opening is also ridiculously strong with the alcohol scent, and smells awfully blended. If you want something like it that is 10x better, I would go with Mont Blanc legend Eau De Parfum. I used to own it and it smells similar to this but is way better blended without the harshest opening on the planet and lasts pretty long too. Smells a bit more refined.

Some have dubbed this a "panty dropper". Well, if it is you can rest assured that the owner of said panties will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 18yrs old. Seriously, I can't imagine anyone that has worn or even smelled a quality frag enjoying this. One doesn't wear it. One endures it. It drapes the wearer in a olfactory-piercing headache-inducing synthetic cloud. Perhaps it just didn't work with my body chemistry. I couldn't wash it off fast enough. Had soap and sink not been close I think I might has scraped it off with my fingernails. As a general rule, I try to never judge a book by its cover. However, in the case of Skull & Roses you can. If you think the bottle is edgy, cool, awesome sauce, etc. You will probably like it. If you think the bottle looks like it's trying too hard well, I think you already know what's is awaiting you inside. Skull & Roses is to fragrances what Ed Hardy is to tattooers. A cheap copy with obvious marketing. Consume at your own risk.

This fragrance doesn't smell nesecarilly bad... Just cheap. Many people have said that this resembles Fierce (I'm 14 and quite enjoy Fierce) and I will certainly agree. This fragrance does smell very similar, but lacks the top and base notes. I don't smell any pepper in this and I certainly don't get that lavender like opening of fierce. As a whole it has a slightly greener feel, but not in a good way. In my opinion this is more synthetic and cheap smelling. Not to mention the fact that this fragrance hails in comarison to fierce when it comes to longevity and projection. I am a fan of the Ed Hardy house, but this is a miss in my opinion. In a word: Ghastly. Typical cheap, synthetic garbage. The relative success of this and the entire Ed Hardy line is the result of clever marketing, with no artistic merit for what's in the bottle. The entire line are knock-offs of each other. S&R, H&D, L&L all smell almost identical to one another, with maybe, a one note differentiation. No offense to all the supporters, but I would venture to say those who think this is a quality frag are probably new to the hobby. There are so many inexpensive, quality alternatives: Sung Homme, JPD Oud Noir, JPD Ambre Orientale, VC&A Tsar and Midnight In Paris, Halston Z-14, Pierre Cardin, Grey Flannel, Tabac, I can go on and on. I'll admit, nice presentation. But that's not worth five cents if you don't deliver the goods.

it's a generic musk smell to it you get by Jovan or C.K, . It's really strong almost inducing miagranes scent. I'll be honest I only bought it for the bottle. It doesn't last long, you'll forget you have it on. If I was a woman I would be repelled from a man no matter how rich they are. The only people I can see liking this are guys with no taste in cologne and buy the first bottle they see that looks the ocol, online shoppers after something "Edgy" sounding or older men wanting something classy. I was expecting something like polo black or certain lacoste perfumes but instead this is almost as painful to my nose as a silver/grat cologne by like cuba or something.

This fragrance took a nasty turn on my skin, it soured so quickly. It smells like Ed Hardy mopped a locker room floor with bleach, then wrung the mop into the bottle. It projects and has decent longevity, so beware you will stink!

I bought this mostly for the bottle and had a pretty good experience in the bargain bin with two other Ed Hardy scents when I wanted a break from my usual scents. If you want to see what Ed Hardy can do try "Love & Luck" (Creed Millesime imperial copy) or Born Wild instead. Which born wild is a bit of a love hate as well but it's better than this. This is just an overly done older man scent. It's way too strong to the point it'll give migraines. I can deal with the usual Paco Rabanne scents which are usually way stronger but this.. this was so bad I think not even 20% into the bottle I gave it to a family member. Luckily I got this in a gift set so I wasn't out much money. Some reason it just smelled out dated to me. Maybe someone 40+ , probably not office work unless you light on it to the point you question if you've got any on. Either way this scent is so over done I'd buy it just for the bottle. I say keep looking for that perfect next scent.

The Los Angeles, California based house of Christian Audigier has come up with some very underrated and solid releases for men over the past decade, one of the few American houses to do so consistently since Calvin Klein in the late 80's and 90's. Still, since Jersey Shore, all things Ed Hardy have sunk to the bottom of the marketing ocean (in the USA) and have been available for bargain bin prices, often in gift sets loaded with extras costing little more than $20-$30. Skulls & Roses is no different, it's made its way quickly to big retailers like Target and Walmart for rather low prices around $30-$35 if you can't find it at your local Ross or TJ Maxx. The only difference being this one just doesn't measure up to the quality of Love & Luck or Born Wild scent wise, this is far more toward the bland, unoriginal vision of Villain. Skulls & Roses is a very minimalistic composition that relies greatly on the kitch of its packaging to sell. Bear in mind this was originally released just before Halloween on the East and West coast in 2012 and was targeted at teens in the hope more than a few would be drawn in by its novel intentions. The pyramid follows closely the massive mainstream early 2000's success of Abercrombie & Fitch's Fierce and Woods, finding a middle ground between the two by combining the musky dominance of Fierce with the lavender of Woods. There's little original or exciting here for the well-traveled nose, but as a teen fragrance this is a reliable if not rather bland performer. . What you get is musky synthetic lavender with a hint of spice and citrus. Zero complexity or evolution during the wear until around the three hour mark; when the lavender recedes; the dry down is simply a very clean and soft musk with very little sophistication or embellishment. The thing is, that soft musky drydown clings to the skin for ages, drawing out the longevity to 7-8 hours but making it extremely uninteresting and a skin scent for most of the wear. I used four sprays in 76 degree weather. Projection was moderate the first 1-2 hours but did devolve rather quickly to soft as the synthetic lavender and tinge of citrus flickered out and the musk took control. Nothing really exciting or distinguishable from the plethora of releases that have oversaturated the market since the mid 2000's. If you are looking for a rather tacky but novel bottle to go along with some of your other Ed Hardy favorites it's worth picking up for next to nothing, but as a scent itself, absolutely unspectacular and uninspiring. Does perform fairly well for a teen fragrance. Target age: 13-25 Time: spring, day fragrance/summer, early evening Occasion: casual, date Scent: Musky synthetic lavender with a tinge of spice and citrus. Dries down into a clean, soft musk. Longevity: 7-8 hours (spring) Sillage: moderate first 2 hours, soft afterwards

It’s interesting how so many people have such different opinions about this stuff, I personally love it. I recently picked this up as a gift set for $35 after taxes up here in Canada. Included in the set was a 75ml bottle, after shave balm, and body soap gel. I blind bought this and never read any reviews before my purchase. Imagine my surprise when I realized this was a dead ringer for Abercrombie and Fitch which I love, and have a Vanilla bottle from launch. I gotta say it’s a really good clone of A&FF. It’s very similar to another clone (Armaf Edition One). I’m not sure if I got an older bottle as this stuff is now hard to find in 2020, but the performance with this stuff is insane on my skin. I sprayed this stuff at 12:30pm and it’s still bouncing off my skin now at 12am, and faint skin scent but I can pick it up. Longevity isn’t an issue if you’re generous with the spray. I still say that Montblanc Legend is the better bottle out of the clones, and in my opinion MBL is better than Abercrombie & Fitch Feirce (more refined and better blended) I have to say that I’ve never been a huge fan of presentations when it comes to bottles either. I can appreciate those who are though, especially if they are true collectors of the cologne bottles, and keep them after they’ve been used. This bottle is pretty cool and sits pretty in my cologne cabinet and always catches attention when I have guests over. For the price and the performance I’m giving a solid 8/10, and I would say it’s better than Armaf’s Edition One dupe of A&FF, and much better performance.

The bottle! That's why people buy this. That's why I bought it. However it's not a Halloween Night fragrance or even a Goth fragrance. The imagery can be deceptive. This is a light and very typical men's cologne of aromatic spiciness courtesy of cardamom ginger and lavender. There is also a musk. It smells very nice but it doesn't have a long life and in fact on me it lasted only 2 hours. It's not a bad fragrance and it has it's moments. I really do love lavender and any fragrance with lavender has always pleased me. This is mostly lavender and musk but it's a pity I can't smell this for a while longer. It's a pretty inexpensive scent and smells very nice. It's also perfect for men to wear for women to cuddle up next to them. I wish the fragrance had been stronger and more intense with darker accords of patchouli, incense, leather, more musk and animalic notes and with more of the Goth vibe that the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab fragrances have. If you want a real Goth fragrance check out the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents. This one is nice but does not smell the way I imagine a living walking skeleton smells LOL

smash747, has it ever entered your train of thought, that people who think this is a quality frag aren't necessarily new comers,but,just people who actually enjoy what they are able to afford ? Most importantly, people like fragrances for what they are, they don't take themselves so seriously. Fragrances, designer or niche are all scented liquid in bottles, no more, no less. I don't think you, and your fragrance snob attitude actually helps in all honesty. Instead of looking down your nose at people offering these ' quality alternatives '....just accept the fact people like this for what it is, a simple, easy going scent. I actually owned a bottle of this and i thought it was pretty nice, it got me a few compliments anyway.

I tested this fragrance a few months back at a Target and it truly is in the Fierce style of foresty riverbank aromatic nearly aquatic scents. The bottle design is very unique. It is perfect for goth friends or if not those that love a very different fragrance bottle. That said, despite it being a good smelling scent and housed unique bottle, I can't pull the trigger on this knowing that I can get Bath & Body Works Whitewater Rush in a 3.4oz/100ml bottle for less than the price of a 2.5oz Skull & Roses bottle. And I am not someone who hates Ed Hardy scents, I honestly love all the scents I've tried. This is just a second best and when it is second best and more expensive, I think a pass is in order.

2 days ago I went to the mall to find a replacement for Mont Blanc Legend. It was either this or A&F Fierce. Skulls and Roses is closer to Legend after comparing all three of them side-by-side at the mall. I ended up buying the 6.7oz of Fierce over Skulls and Roses because Skulls and Roses was a bit messy throughout the life of the cologne (also because the sweetness of Fierce triggered something nice with my nose). It smells very good, but to a more-trained nose, it was kind of all over the place. It did however out-perform both Fierce and Legend. For the price you can get for it, it is great! I still wouldnt mind having it. OVERALL: Scent = 3.5/5 Longevity = 3.5/5 Projection = 3.5/5 10.5/15

Just sampled this and whereas I have not tried either Fierce or MB Legend, I REALLY like this juice. It has a wonderfully strong opening and then in the dry down I am getting Claiborne Curve but a little stronger more developed. I guess my next step is to sample the Mont Blanc and decide which of the two I like better. And yes, I am intentionally ignoring the Fierce as I don't really want to pay that kind of money for what amounts to a "teen" frag. If I'm going to spend those kind of bucks, I'm reserving them for something a little more high end and classy.

come on guy,just give it a break..i think that the bottle looks pretty cool.after all skulls,roses,daggers etc are the theme elements of ed hardy...and my friend tri3pod for the rose note in the fragrance,does hearts and daggers have dagger note in it,these are just the elements of presentation of the scent.. I GUARANTEE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BUY THIS FRAG BECAUSE OF THE COOL BOTTLE SINCE IT'LL BE COOL TO HAVE THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION AND IT'LL MAKE A GREAT GIFT TO PRESENT TO SOMEONE. I THINK MAKING SUCH A BOTTLE IS VERY SMART OF ED HARDY

This fragrance is very closely related to Abercrombie's Fierce. It has that same, unique, smell the store from a mile away smell. This one is a bit sweeter on the skin and not quite as "dry" as Fierce. The Bergamot, Lavender, Cardamon all blossom on the initial spray. The scent is not sweet but fresh and sparkling. After the drydown, it turns musky and mossy, like a white musk for men with just a little touch of sweet sitting below it. It's a great value scent if you're looking to have that Fierce smell without paying the high price.

You should never buy a cologne just because the bottle is cool, but I couldn't help my self this time. I order this one a few weeks ago, and it finally got it in the mail, and I was surprised at the sent-result. I really like this one. It you can defiantly smell the bergamot, lavender, and musk. It seems really good, I wouldn't wear this everyday, though.

Yes I get the whole Montblanc Legend and AFF comparison. But just spend the extra money and get Legend for around the same price. They have testers of Legend around the same price. At first you're blasted with alcohol in a major way but it does wind up drying down to a good sent.If you like MB Legend or Fierce go for it and the bottle is cool.

Smells EXTREMELY close to fierce and Legend. I don’t get a whole lot of difference between the three honestly. The bottle is cooler than the other two mentioned. However I mean honestly they all smell the same. So if you’re wondering which one of the three to buy, then pick which bottle you like the best, because the scent is the same.

Smells just like Montblanc Legend. Will be super redundant if you own legend. I bought it because I like the bottle. Good cheap work scent, gym or out of the shower scent. Clean deodorant type smell. For 20$ if you don't own legend it's a easy blind buy. Don't know what performance will be like since this is my first impression.

Just got my nose on this one and yes def get that MBL AND AF SIMILARITIES call me crazy but I think I like this a lot more to me it's more mature a bit sweeter and that white musk and moss combination is amazing. Also very versatile day night all weather for the price is a no brainer. Keep stinking great frag heads. Blessings 🙌
