Chamomile Cafe

my obsession with this is like finishing a book that was just so amazing that you know it's going to ruin reading for you for awhile, because you know nothing will quite top it. this is so good that it's completely softened my perfume hobby for the past few months because i don't want to wear anything else. this is so comforting and cozy but also bright and happy. it's like... global village coffee house aesthetic but without the sad nostalgic pull. like actually being in the adulthood that 2000s media made me think i was promised. it fills me with this nostalgia, but without the bittersweet feeling nostalgia usually brings. i don't even particularly love gourmands but i've been searching for a cozy one that just makes me feel comforted. now my search is complete and i don't want to wear anything besides this.

someone else said this is global village coffee house perfume and they are right. i got this as an extra in a sample pack, and the oatmeal cookie note listed did not entice me. i don't tend to like sweet stuff, and that sounded.... so sweet. HOWEVER. it's actually... NOT TOO SWEET. the sweetness is there. but it's balanced. the oatmeal cookiness is more of a warmth, and a very realistic chamomile tea note (oversteeped, even... a little bitter...) is the main focus. i don't even like chamomile tea. but i love this. my new favorite, for real.

I thought I was imagining how much this smelled like herbal oatmeal cookies until I looked at the scent notes and yep... this is very much so herbal oatmeal cookies!! Smells like walking into a witchy coffee shop right after they set out a fresh tray of cookies. Warm and toasty, but still herbal. A sprinkle of sharp spiciness that blends right in to everything else. The chamomile smells like tea in a bright and green way, and the cookies aren't super gourmand... but still cookie? Stay with me here. Cookie, but not too much cookie. Maybe a whisper of cookie. The essence of cookie. But it's not too sweet at all. Witchy cookie, maybe. Cast-a-spell-cookie. Herbs-in-the-garden-cookie. Would still eat, absolutely. This perfume has lots of creamy chamomile, it's very sweet and soothing, and a little buttery. Rich but not cloying. Definitely interesting. I would really enjoy this one during colder seasons.

I feel like you’d really have to be in the mood for this. It definitely takes you on a journey. There’s something about it that reminds me of being sick as a child and my mom bringing in an herbal tea or some other concoctions that moms made. But as it tries down, you’re feeling better and your mom made cookies. It’s nostalgic. I don’t feel like this is a safe blind buy, but I feel like there’s a great representation of the notes listed and I feel like this as well done. It’s a journey not everyone might want to take.

Reminds me of a sweet, herbal candy like a Ricola cough drop. It's refreshing, and comforting at the same time.

Comforting, a less intense version of a whiff of waffle cone to me. I like this one more, while a whiff of waffle cone smokes out a room, this one quietly lurks in a corner.
