St. John Prive Blend

I really enjoy this fragrance but I don't think it performs the best especially for the price! Nice fruity, salty and airy scent that smells amazing! High quality type of stuff. I also enjoy the longevity for this type of "fresh airy summer time " DNA. For me it last 6-8 hours! But the projection for me sucks!! I have less expensive fragrances that does better with projection....The initial spray you would think this would be a amazing projector....I'm talking choking people out in the room for the first 20 minutes. Then after 30 minutes or so it really starts to settle down and get closer to the skin. By the one hour mark maybe a foot of projection. By hour two it's only projecting a few inches off the skin and hour three it's pretty much a skin scent till the end of it's life. Just wished it projects alittle bit better and longer into the fragrance life! Scent profile is a 10/10, proformance is a 7/10, and price point is a 7/10. Overall I would rate this a 8/10.....solid!!! I want to love this one but it definitely has it's cons. I don't think I'll ever buy this one again....but happy I bought it!

Beautiful fruity summer sunscreen scent. Very fresh and invigorating. Has a floral element wrapped amongst the fruit, dries down smelling smooth due to the sandalwood in the base. Lasts very well on skin and it has a bright summery vibe. I can really imagine wearing this at the beach.

Got another one from City Rhythm today, and this time it's St. John, which probably has the coolest story behind it in the brand's lineup. After visiting St. John in 2015, Niles was so inspired by the island that it pushed him to study perfumery under artisanal and indie perfumers with one goal in mind: creating a fragrance that truly captured the feeling of a tropical paradise. During that journey, after the passing of his father, he had a dream where his father pointed him toward a bottle of quince. He added it to the formula the next morning, and it ended up being the missing piece that brought the fragrance to life. His goal was to bottle the feeling of standing barefoot on warm soil, eating fresh tropical fruit, and reliving those cherished memories. So, let's set sail and see what St. John has in store for us. The opening of St. John is bright, vibrant, and full of life. Right away you get this juicy blend of guava and quince that's sweet, musky, and citrusy all at once, with just a little bit of lime adding some extra brightness. It feels tropical from the start, but not in the usual sunscreen or cocktail kind of way. The quince really gives it its own personality. After about 20 to 30 minutes, the fragrance starts to smooth out. The citrus becomes less tart, and it turns into more of a sweet, musky blend. This is where the lavender comes in, adding a clean, linen-like freshness, while the passionfruit starts to peek through and builds on that tropical citrus theme. Around the hour and a half to two-hour mark, I start getting the vanilla and rum. Neither one takes over the fragrance, though. They just add a little extra sweetness with an almost caramelized feel before the creamy sandalwood starts to come through in the base. It's soft, slightly sweet, and works really well with everything that came before it. St. John had a few ups and downs for me. On one hand, I really liked the unique tropical fruit blend. On the other, a few reviews mentioned that it smells like laundry detergent, and honestly... I kind of get it, especially once that clean, linen-like lavender comes into the picture. I also spent a lot of time in surf shops growing up, and this honestly smells like it could be a candle called "Island Sunset" or "Hawaiian Breeze" sitting on a shelf. But are those bad smells? I don't think so. More than anything, I think St. John stays true to Niles' vision. It reminds me of browsing a beachside gift shop on vacation, and that's exactly the kind of feeling it captures. I wouldn't call it a safe blind buy because that clean, laundry-like accord mixed with the tropical fruits won't be for everyone, but I'd definitely recommend grabbing a sample for your next vacation or a hot summer day. You might just find your inner surfer.

I wanted to try this fragrance for month now and yesterday finaly had the chance to. I had very strong expectation for this fragrance and when I tried it damn, it wasn't what I was expecting but in a very bad ways. It just headache inducing and smell synthethic af. I usually never get headache from fragraces. Only once when smelling erba pura lol. It give me the same vibe as puerto rico but its smell alot better don't get me wrong. Its not bad but isnt worth the price at all. It smell like candy suncream but somehow very strong. 5/10

I really wanted to like this one, but it is a hard no for me. The best way I can describe it is like a Febreze plug-in that spilled on your clothes. It's overly fragrant, so the top and middle notes hit ALL. AT. ONCE. There are some quality ingredients in this. I love the sugar note. It's not like sugar cane, more like a fresh sugar cube that you nibble on at tea time, but again, it's just overshadowed by the fruits. In addition to that, I get no performance on this, which is disappointing considering there's not that much citrus which is why I wanted this scent in the first place. I'm a heavy sprayer (6 sprays minimum) but today I did double because I know the performance is ass. That was around 2:30. I'm at work writing this review around 5:10 pm. I have to press my nose to my skin just to smell the last traces of vanilla and rum left, and on my clothes, it's SLIGHTLY better, and I only have to hold my nose 2 inches from my shirt to smell that. If the performance was better and I could appreciate the drydown, maybe it'd be different. The jury still is out on this house for me. I'm still testing Miami Tropical Confessions so we'll see.

Kinda smells like a fruity laundry detergent to me, not a huge fan

Baaallright... this was a huge disappointment, mostly because all of the notes looked HELLA good, so i ordered a sample, and dude. This is the most synthetic thing out the wazooo. Straight up a bad washing detergent you'd buy in Florida called "Citrus Surfer" or something like that. This is not worth it, I mean if you like it... you do, but i just cant imagine wearing this twin.

It doesn’t smell like the notes, smells like screechy white florals and urine with a bit of lime.

This smells like one of those shitty car air fresheners that come in the lil can and give you a headache as soon as you get in the car

This stuff is awful. Smells like air freshener or a cleaning product. I couldn’t scrub it off my skin fast enough.

It's praised for its fruity-sweet profile, strong projection, and longevity, offering a refreshing island vibe. Some find it leans slightly masculine, but overall, it's a great choice for a lasting, tropical scent.

Yes it’s synthetic, but it’s not bad by any means. Synthetic does not always mean bad. If you are looking for a tropical vacation scent that’ll last and project all day, this will satisfy you. Same vibes as creed virgin island water in my opinion, but replace the lime with gauva. Ended up going with full bottle on this one. 9/10

One of the best tropical fragrance in the market. Super beast mode and beautifully made.
