Mineral Wood

Opening: Delicious orangey citrus, tangerine. The smell of citrus is very natural and oily, with resinous woodiness to it. Does not smell like a synthetic citrus, but smell incredibly similar to the smell of grated orange zest but slightly more bitter. The resin + citrus zest is amazing here. Mid: The mid has a smell of fresh wood-shavings, it's that mix of cedar and sandalwood. Reminds me a lot of the dry-down for Rondò Armaniano by Armani Privé. It's prominent in the sandalwood with a bit of 'bite' from the cedar, without being overbearing, there is also something kind of lingering in the background, a kind of incense-like smoke Drydown: I couldn't really be happier, as it's just more of what already worked in the fragrance - we have some warmth coming in from the musk, with the sticky resin still going and the vetiver slowly creeping in. I'm also happy to say that it's a lot more of a refined vetiver which is to say that it's toned back a bit so that you don't only smell vetiver, but instead get a bit of everything. It's like that bite of pasta where you get both the noodle, the sauce, and the meat. I will say, it kind of feel like the tangerine can faintly be sensed later into the drydown - albeit the dry down is heavily focused on the resins Notes: Probably not my favourite of his, but it's a brilliant exercise in having notes that complement each other. I absolutely love the combination of resins with citrus, and the wood is best described by the smell of walking in the forest on a damp day, going past some lumberjacks cutting down trees. The resin in this one is absolutely great. It's sticky, not nauseatingly warm, but there to add an accent to the other notes. As I sit in my living room, projection feels small, but as I walk around, i notice that it's a lot more powerful than it give off, so don't overspray

#1698 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this decant from scentsplit.com. Lotsa olibanum and citrus. It’s not a really common fragrance type, but it’s not cheap at $190 and up plus shipping from Italy. I have tried Les Liquides Imaginaires “Roasted Tangerine”, a fragrance of this type that's $60 cheaper than this, but not nearly as potent and doesn’t come off as woody. Another more affordable alternative I’ve tried is Salvatore Ferragamo Cupola that’s more unisex with some nice iris which you can find for $80, but it’s also not this potent. This scent has great longevity and projection, and holds up way better than “Roasted Tangerine” or “Cupola.” I think it’s versatile enough for any use. Not going to offend in close spaces. I don’t need any more of this scent type at this time, and not sure I’d shell out the money for this if I did, unless this gets a lot of notice today. But definitely a great scent. I went get Cereal Brake and Vanilla Pancake from this brand, since I'm a gourmand lover, but I had to test them all. I could never imagine I would like a citrusy woody fragrance this much. But this is very soothing and natural smelling perfume. Totally unisex. It has good quality and decent longetivity. Also the story behind this creation is very nice, and when Claudio told me about this church in Sicily his mom used to take him to as a child, and how he loved the scent of wooden chairs and incense from the church mixed with woods and citrus fields around it, it just made so much sense. He said he likes to spray this perfume after a hard day and that it calms him. Coudn't agree more 😊

Guys, don’t pay attention to critics, especially in connection with the recent Fragrance Apprentice video. This is a charismatic fragrance! I got a sample, and I can attest: it has a fantastic, delicious orangey citrus smell in the opening, the vibe of Aqua Di Parma style, and a delicate woodiness to it. It's not synthetic; it's truly quality. As it evolves, warmth comes into play from the musk, and—AWESOME—a vetiver slowly comes in the background but not dominant; you just get a nice combo of everything. Awesome and timeless! Projection is solid and stays on skin for +8 hours. A true gentleman’s scent.

A delicious woodsy scent, with an understated citrus opening and a subtle mossy dry down. Sampling the fragrance indoors I feared it might have very little projection, but when I went outside, I was delighted to find the air around me perfumed with authentic wafts of woods, grass and incense. Delicious! What a refreshing discovery: a self-taught, instinctual perfumer with an aesthetic grounded in modesty and a genuine desire to please. The Big Boys of International Perfumery have a lot to learn from Claudio's meticulous and mindful approach to his art.

This opens with rindy, earthy citruses, but at the core this revolves around dry cedar, clean vetiver, and surprisingly smoky, mineralic, slightly churchy incense. There's also a bit of a green tinge from the cypress. Akigalawood definitely makes an appearance here as well but it seems like it's mostly there to enhance the olibanum's mineralic facets. I really like how prominent and realistic the incense smoke is in this composition, it's really well done. This kinda reminds me of a mix between Terre d'Hermes and Bentley For Men Absolute (or Gucci Pour Homme I) the opening is similar to Terre but the drydown reminds me more of the Absolute, but this is a bit more airy and more incense forward. Overall, this is a good composition, easily comparable to Terre and Absolute in terms of quality, but it's really not worth the steep price. For the price of a 50ml bottle of Mineral Wood you can buy 100ml's of both Terre and Absolute and still have quite a bit of change.

The metallic edge Frankincense with a woody backbone somewhat like cedar. And slightly smokey. But all of this is muted and fuzzy. Like the memory of an old church pew.

Well, I'm test wearing this Mineral Wood and it sucks. Now I have to go back to The Fragrance Apprentice video where he said this was a 10/10 and post a comment saying this sucks. He must have gotten money from the brand, or free fragrances or something. The materials used in this seem cheap, and the scent profile is poorly constructed. Its nothing near on par with a Creed Royal Oud, Diptyque Tam Dao, Le Labo Santal 33 or any other woody scent that is highly rated.

Forse il mio preferito della linea, assai elegante, forse il meno dolce e "moderno". Dall'apertura agrumata, frizzante, classica e leggermente acidula mi ricorda una versione di lusso di Guerlain vetiver Dopodiché omaggia altri due grandi classici sempre in versione molto lussuosa ovvero Encre noire di Lalique e un accenno a Malizia Vetiver per ciò che si può percepire di questo cipresso affumicato balsamico e resinoso. Questo percorso avviene sia in senso piramidale sia in senso lineare dato che ogni tanto ritorna l'una o l'altra fase. Consigliato agli amanti del genere. Ovviamente i miei paragoni non devono essere considerati come qualcosa che possa sminuire,delimitare o descrivere la fragranza ma ho voluto adottarli soltanto per fornire dei riferimenti riguardanti il genere e certe suggestioni olfattive su di me espresse indi, al solito, soggettive.

i watched the video below which led me here I'd love a sample set of the but i am in the U.S. would be nice to see some form of distribution here. Sad....it sounds sooo good. I don't know this guy, but he sounds like a true lover of the art.
