Vanilla Pancake

Opening: Opens to a very particular nuttiness, like a hazelnut cream (nutella, but less chocolatey) slightly lactonic, sweet and bright. Not overly warm or thick, so it's a well balanced sweetness with a lot of hazelnut in the beginning. There is some chocolate elements, but it's not the same as the cacao notes you see in things like Epico Otello or Pierre Guillaume's Anti-Blues. the chocolate is kind of bitter, like cooking chocolate Mid: As it begins to settle on my skin, the chocolate grows less bitter, and more rounded, there's some caramel that starts to come in, and the caramel is at arms length starting to become more central to the scent.. I've smelled a lot of super overpowering caramel notes, and I can say that this one is a very authentically smelling caramel without being thick or overbearing If I waft my arm around, I get a sweet golden-brown caramel syrup as the main note, and smelling it up close lets me smell more of the cacao. I'm trying to not think of the note breakdown, but I'm convinced that if I smell it up-close, I can smell some orange-zest, but it's faint, and it melts together with the rest of the 'orchestra', but I do definitely think it helps balance out the sweetness from the caramel, so it doesn't become monotonous. To avoid nose-blindness, I had some coffee, and after that, there's definitely a lot more of a balance between the orange juice and the caramel, the orange juice is more similar to actual orange juice and not the concentrate/synthetic one you'll see in supermarkets. Drydown: The dry down is mostly vanillic, it begins by being mostly an ambery almost resin-like vanilla, so the benzoin is definizely the primary thing I'm smelling. It's a very pleasant mix of caramel and vanilla beans as the vanilla starts to come more into the light and becomes less benzoin-esque and more of a confectionary/sweet vanilla and then it just keeps going on and on and on with this delightful combination of caramel syrup and vanilla Sillage is great, noticeable at a distance. Longevity is unparalleled - lasts 12+ hours with great performance. I could still smell the vanilla on the spot I sprayed 24+ hours later despite showering.

Vanilla Pancake is a step backwards, a jump towards a cloud of memories made of tenderness and beautiful things, the aroma of sweet aroma in the air, the excitement in your eyes when you are going to taste something good. It may be something purely personal, but my childhood, among other things, is also bound up with food, mainly with sweets, which always represented a moment of joy and conviviality: the last is the key word representing this fragrance. A tender and fluffy Gourmand, which smells, with its very realistic overtones, of a warm pancake topped with the aroma of hazelnuts and chocolate, which was never enough. It is not too sweet, nor cloying, it is very well balanced and on my skin a slightly bitter chocolate note is enhanced, which, with the sugary part creates a very pleasant contrast. Beautiful ice creamy, tiramisu vanilla. Not cloying at all, I love in drydown that vanilla pod note which is not artificial. Its really nice gourmand.

Personal: 5/10 - It's a great, super strong caramel, vanilla gourmand, but... it's ultra synthetic. Mass appeal: 5/10 - This one is just TOO sweet for most to appreciate. Performance: 8/10 - She projects alright. A lot. Value: 4/10 - It's definitely unique and strong, but it's too expensive for a synthetic gourmand. Uniqueness: 8/10 - I've never smelled something that captures the smell of youth so well. SCORE: 60/100 Full bottle buy? NO, I could barely ever wear this. More art than perfume. Blind buy? NO, sweetness is so loud that the neighbors can hear it. Recommend? YES, it's definitely unique and a fun fragrance to sample at least once. Date night? YES, but only in very cold weather, and with a couple sprays max. Too sweet. Office safe? NO, it would be far too cloying. Pros: Unique, artistic, and special. Super high quality gourmand. Cons: Too sweet to be wearable. Expensive, and too synthetic. I actually really appreciate what this fragrance is, but I don't think I can wear it and enjoy it in the same capacity. It's perfumery art that brilliantly captures the sweetness we associate with desserts and unhealthy treats of our youth, and that feeling is communicated brilliantly through Vanilla Pancake. However, its intense gourmand sweetness makes it difficult to wear, and hard to enjoy on skin. But in small, measured amounts on tester strips, I think it's a really fun experience. There is no pancake note in this fragrance. That being said, the scent of orange zest, dark chocolate and benzoin comes in all at once for me. The caramel is light and thin, and the vanilla is very sweet. It is not entirely unpleasant, but for the price tag, I expect hyper realism. I will likely be destashing this.

As others say below, this is quite synthetic. Nutty/chocolately/vanilla-y, but not natural-smelling at all. And I certainly don't smell pancakes - nothing doughy or bready here. Not my favorite or FBW, but not disgusting as some have suggested.

Chocolate milk made with Nesquick, vanilla, nutty accord, pancake syrup, perhaps a little coffee. Wearable, nothing to write home about.

Inedible sweet gourmand, I like to cook and this is NOT real natural ingredients. Strong synthetic hazelnut and caramel dominate into an icky nutty goo. The core notes mix to smell like something on the shelves of TJ Maxx or B&BW but a stronger version; it lasts and I wish it didn't. More artificial syrup than pancakes.

It smells like you ate breakfast too early after your night out. You then threw up your pancake breakfast and cleaned it off the floor with soap. In short: soapy rancid pancake vomit. I'm really surprised TPG had this in the Mystery Box.

A sweet, sugary, chocolate mess that develops into straight baby powder. Really horrible stuff. Not sure who would wear this, or why someone would wish to walk around smelling like this...

Not at all surprised this only has 3 stars. If you want to smell like actual pancake syrup, this is probably for you. I had to scrub it off immediately- it is nauseating.

Sampling this now. It's a hard no from me. The opening is thick and synthetic but oddly enjoyable. You do get the impression of some sort of vanilla treat, not necessarily pancakes imo. That goes away quickly and this fragrance goes in a totally different direction. 40 minutes it's giving dank dishcloth that needed replacing days before or basement chest filled with musty mothballs. Really bizarre and super unpleasant.

So ive ordered a variety of samples of some niche perfumes, to see what the fuss is all about, as my collection consists mostly of designer and celebrity perfumes. Im trying to turn my collection into more than just buying something because of hype, or its niche or for any reason other than, I love this scent I need it. If I dont love it, im not buying it no matter what is my new motto, designer, celebrity, or niche or indy, I have to love it. So vanilla pancake, I dont get pancakes at all. When I first sprayed I was hit in the face with this perfume boy oh boy is she strong, top marks for that. I got the chocolate/cocoa definitely more cocoa, and caramel, the caramel is sweet and overpowering at first. Once she settles it becomes more wearable. But it stays the same, a few hours in and I still get cocoa/chocolate, caramel, and now a touch of vanilla. Its true gourmand. However its just not for me, its is nice, but i dont see myself reaching for this often. Its heavy too heavy for my liking, too much caramel for me personally, caramel for me needs to be more in the background, in other perfumes caramel can sometimes come across to my nose as a boozyness, in vanilla pancake, it comes across as just caramel, just a sweetness that im not particularly keen on. This won't make it to full bottle for me, but I am enjoying wearing it, I can appreciate it, but its not a love, rather a like.

Un très beau gourmand , à mon nez un caramel au noix , pas de chocolat ! Il tient toute la journée sur les vêtements , même le lendemain , tout en étant délicat , avec juste la légère touche d'amertume qui convient !

Totally misleading name This is a sharp dusty cocoa powder and quite dense Definitely not the sweet edible pancake gourmand I imagined it to be Not a safe blind buy at all would not recommend

How i describe this is pancake batter, not pancakes. It smells very floury, thick, a little unsweetened at times even though its mainly a sweet bomb I love it, 10/10
