Le Parfum

What a surprise...I stumbled on this scent walking into the Claus Porto store in NYC. I was walking in random stores and saw a bunch of soaps through the window and being the clean freak I am, I figured I'd sample their bars. Noticing they also created fragrances, I was drawn to a particular scent because of it's odd bottle shape. It was the most modern appearing presentation in the store. Claus Porto is a very classic brand with classic sensibilities. The soaps drew me in the store but Le Parfum was the item I left with. This is my favorite type of fragrance find. A true beauty from a brand few people consider. A true hidden gem. Add to that, the fact that "Le Parfum" is such a non descript name for such a well done fragrance, its clear a lot of people will not notice this scent or pay attention to it. Made by perfumer Lyn Harris of Miller Harris, it's a limited edition fragrance with only 1887 bottles made which commemorates the year when Claus Porto was established in Portugal. Le Perfum when first sprayed is a fresh fruity scent with a green expression. It starts to do tricks to your mind in the opening. There is a slight milky quality on my skin that was in the background. Very interesting. Le Parfum is juicy but there is a woody freshness that makes it extremely unisex. So many facets begin to reveal it self in the opening alone making Le Parfum very dynamic on my skin. It is not linear in the slightest. Longevity was excellent for a scent of this type. It's a fresh leaning, green, woody scent and lasted on my skin for 6-7 hours. In the first 3 hours it wafted very noticeably. After that it became closer to the skin. Interesting enough though this is a scent where dry warm air will make it explode off skin hours into the life of the scent. It won't choke out a room if sprayed reasonably but it is very present and will be noticed when worn. Personally, I'd wear this in the day time in 3 of 4 seasons. The coldest days of the year may not be the best moments for this beauty. I find it very versatile with most styles and personality types. It can be dressed up or down and can match playful or serious personalities with ease. It doesn't smell like a scent made for an age group. It's very appropriate for all ages. Le Parfum is a modern scent that smells extremely wearable and is very easy to love. I don't know of any fragrance that smells like it. It's one of the more unique fresh scents I've smelled up until this point which is very impressive to me. The price point is high ($210) but for an approachable, well made, unique smelling fresh scent with limited availability, I find the price very appropriate. It won't be a niche scent that you rarely find a time or place to wear. If u appreciate easy to wear fragrances that aren't challenging to wear but is still somehow interesting and unique, this is a scent to try. It doesn't smell unnatural, it has great performance considering the style of scent and it's again very easy to like. If I were to rate this scent using my PAGE RATING SYSTEM (P- Poor, A- Average, G- Good, E- Exceptional), I'd give this scent a strong G rating. It may even rise to the level of Exceptional, because not too many fresh scents that are niche quality are as enjoyable while daring to be different as this. It's beautiful, very captivating and it's not following a mindless, trendy blueprint. In a time when so many scents are repeats of other fragrances this scent stands out as truly unique all while being the epitome of pleasant. Very well done... SIMPLY PUT SCENTS

What a lovely hidden gem! If you love summer fragrances and fig leaf don't miss this wonderful creation. Claus Port is a portuguese artisan brand of soap and perfumery. I discovered in Porto few years ago. For me totally unisex and purchased online already twice. Better formulation than Ninfeo Mio (Annick Goutal) because less bitter and more citrusy. I also love the combination fig leaf/watermelon, so fresh and clean, not gourmand at all. Perfect for men during summertime but also for curious women that like fig leaf and watermelon (like me). 4/5

It’s absolutely superb and irresistible! I discovered this and realised notes read like Perfumer H Mediterranean. But this goes a different way. Le Parfum brings out the creaminess of the fig fruit, rather than the greenness of the leaf, compared to the Mediterranean. Watermelon is a lot more prominent too which gives it a light fresh feel. I have bottle 1055/1887 made. This was done for the 130th anniversary of Claus Porto. Packaging is unreal. Bottle is a replica of an original from the 1930’s. A beautiful creation by Lyn Harris as usual.

It smells like not a perfume, not a fig. It smells like an air coming from somewhere. It's very clean and pure, but sexy. A kind of new experience in my long perfume life. I don't want to explore new perfume any more, except Lyn Harris.

I bought the BIG bottle on a VERY expensive whim because I do love fig. It's pretty pricey! It opens with a lemony citrus burst and the fig shines in this very well crafted perfume. I also get green grassy notes that really last on clothes. It's a perfect summer-into-fall scent, very fresh to start but dries into a very fig centric woody scent on the skin. The longer it on, the more I catch the scent of cedar. Fig, cedar and a touch of sandalwood..I really love it. The ingredients are very good quality, That said, I believe that a WOMAN would love to have her MAN smell like this. It's a more masculine leaning scent. I doubt VERY much that a MAN would want his WOMAN to smell like this. I am the kind of woman who wears perfume for her own enjoyment. I also love and wear The Cobra and The Canary by Imaginary Authors, which is also not a traditional woman's perfume. So, I will enjoy the heck out of this. Also, will experiment with layering it to extend it's use. Maybe with a neroli scent..or a fresh green centered floral. My point is, if you are into femme perfumes, this is not for you. It's expensive, so don't make that mistake. The longevity and sillage are very good. NOTE- the longer it's on, the more unisex it becomes. Still, not for the traditional woman. My opinion. 🤷

managed to get my hands on this outstanding fragrance for a great price thanks to the holiday sales/discounts. Opens up with a very nice fig note (woody as opposed to fruity)and gives you a fantastic and unique drydown. Sadly not the best option for northeast winter that we're heading into, but will make for a great spring scent come april/may. I may have to spray it on occasionally when I'm home just to remind myself that cold weather is but a temporary thing when you live in this part of the world.
