Gucci Pour Homme II

The time has come for the last (chronologically) of the great Guccis... a fragrance which, according to the name, is a variation on an older classic, but with a completely different character and purpose... And it turned out very well, which is as rare in the case of sequels as a flash of intelligence in a professional. boxer... It seems to me that trying to beat the perfection of Gucci PH would be difficult, if not impossible - that's why it was very wisely decided to create an opposite to the spicy classic... The PH II composition is the extreme opposite of its older brother and is also its wonderfully tailored counterweight, worth wearing. named after a phenomenal ancestor... Pour Homme II is delicate, light, airy and sensual... of a seemingly delicate style, it is an extremely endearing, charming and elegant fragrance... it works well under a white collar, as well as for a casual getaway from countries somewhere in Poland... While the arrangement and color of the Gucci PH cork is intended for evening use (in winter, but with the possibility of setting it during the day, which he likes to do), the second pair was intended to be used during the day... and it copes with it perfectly. .... It's true that many people, including myself, complained about the poor projection and aftereffect of this fragrance for the first time, nothing could be further from the truth... Gucci PH II is a delicate and discreet fragrance, which means that the wearer's nose gets used to it very quickly, which results in received by the recipient from every touch. (Panie Jacobs, trzeba było się uczyć od innych, jak robić to dobrze, nim wypuścił Pan swoją wersję gazu pieprzowego o sugestywnej nazwie BANG!) Tym właśnie mnie ten zapach podbił i położył na łopatki... zaczyna się tak niewinnie i ujmująco, że nie mogłem oderwać nosa od nadgarstka... cóż za lekkość i anielska wręcz transparentność.... nic nie dręczy zmysłów, wszystko zmieszane ze sobą w jednolitą, harmonijną całość, która ani trochę nie nudzi, czyniąc z PH II zapach idealny na wiosnę i cieplejsze pory roku... ten zapach aż rozświetla swym blaskiem aurę wokół nosiciela... wysublimowane piękno, delikatność i prostota tworząca tę kompozycję po prostu mnie zniewoliła... Jeśli najpiękniejszym miejscem na świecie jest Barbados, to wyobrażam sobie, iż właśnie tak musi pachnieć ten raj na ziemi... Do tego dochodzi niezwykle pasujący do charakteru zapachu kolor cieczy, będący niewinnym i nieskalanym błękitem doskonale podkreślającym rolę i przeznaczenie pachnidła... całość zamknięto zapewne w nawiązaniu do nazwy w identycznym dla Pour Homme flakonie z grubego szkła, opierającym się na grubym szklanym denku... prostota i kwintesencja dobrego smaku... i od razu wiadomo, że zapach jest dla mężczyzn, bez konieczności czytania etykiety... Całość zwieńczono korkiem stylizowanym na szczotkowany mosiądz... po prostu poezja... Szkoda natomiast, że po wypuszczeniu tego zapachu i nastaniem innych – dobry smak i fason, z którego dom mody Gucci słynął przez dekady został obrócony w perzynę... Cieszmy się zatem tandemem Pour Homme/Pouur Homme II, bo nic lepszego ten dom mody już nie wypuści.... With all respect to Rowan's magniloquently negative entry -- I really enjoy his prose, but I could not disagree more with almost every aspect of his review. This stuff may not be definitively "sexy" (though that's really a subjective thing), nor does it scream from the rooftops at how alpha male it is (it certainly is not), nor does it last until the second coming (though I will say I think the previous reviewer vastly overstates its lackluster longevity). But you know what? It still smells gorgeous and comforting. Again, subjective judgement here, but it is plain to see that I am not alone in this opinion. Yeah, I wish it could be stronger, last longer, and oh, by the way, be AVAILABLE again. But it still smells wonderful to this nose, and I'm over the moon that I horded 3 full bottles before the prices went absolutely ape shit. My proposal to anyone and everyone who loves this stuff as I do: Please join me in requesting Alexandria Fragrances release a clone of GPH2! In their typical parfum extrait strength, this would be absolutely magnificent, would it not? PS: It seems a certain very sensitive soul took uncommon umbrage to my audacity for disagreeing with his point of view. So much so that he felt the need to go on the offensive. My favorite scent. I had the chance, right when it was d/c'd, to buy like 5 bottles off a clearance rack for 30$ each, and to this DAY I am kicking myself that I didn't do it. I've never considered this one to be a strong fragrance; it lingers closer to the skin, and for good reason - the mix of scent notes gets drowned out if any one of them becomes "too loud". For me, I can pick out the tea, the cinnamon, the tobacco, the violet freshens and softens, the bergamot adds just a dash of ~zest without taking over (which is something the clones have a problem with; more in a moment). It's just a very well balanced and unique scent. If it was to project more, I don't think the way the notes come together would survive. Despite being more of a skin scent, spray this on a hoodie though and toss it in the bottom of the laundry basket. If you fish it back out a week later - you can still smell traces of it. It doesn't really project, but it does stay put. I've still got about 60% of an OG bottle left, and I use it VERY sparingly. I lean on two dupes instead. Dua's Man Card VIP is a dupe, and it's what happens when you try to crank this fragrance up - bergamot takes over. When I initially got it, I could smell all the notes and the DNA was there, but the berg was still a bit too strong. Now that the bottle has sat for a bit, when I spray it, I just pick up the berg. If you want a dupe of this that leans a little more citrus-spice, Dua's is a good pick. I do use it, but not as much as Alexandria's. Alexandria has "The Pour Homme II", and to me, it's like 90% there. For starters, they tinted the juice blue to try to match the OG, so points for presentation. Alexandria's doesn't try to amp up the OG and increase the silage, it's much more balanced and stays closer to the OG. The bergamot doesn't take over, and I get the tobacco and tea notes more than I do with Dua. The only thing is that Alexandria's feels ~slightly flat, and for me, I think it's missing the violet. It's just missing a touch of sweetness, a touch of something fresh - it's just not quite as "bright". Alexandria's is what I go to and use whenever I wanna pick up this bottle, since it's so close to the OG for me in terms of scent and presentation. I only ever touch the real thing for very, very special occasions.

Review of 2013: GUCCI POUR HOMME 2 this is by far my favorite gucci scent next to gucci pour homme 1. The black tea is very proninant throughout the scent which is very very nice i dont really feel the bergamot in the opening a very slight tinge of violet leaf then the scent goes immidiately in the heart notes. In the heart notes the cinnamon,pimento,black tea are present its just that the black tea is more noticable. At the base the black tea is still there i do get a hint of tobacco i dont know about the olive tree or myrrh as i dont know whats the smell of myrrh the musk barely noticable. My experience on the overall scent is black tea. This is a tea based fragrance and its good very comforting smell i think its a pretty linear scent and it does not evolve that much which i dont mind. When i spray it i imagine myself in a cold weather in a high rise building in a patio chillin and relaxing cold breeze in the air sipping on a hot expensive black tea leaf (those you buy in china town or expensive tea shop not the cheap grocery tea ones) and warming me up comfortably. The projection is poor to moderate but this one stays longer on the skin 6-8 hours on average thats very good and also FYI this is the only old gucci scent that is still in production its a good thing this is still available everywhere and as far as i know they have not discontinued this one YET so grab it while you can i did not hesitate to buy 2 bottles of GP2 all in all GREAT AND A CLASSIC IN MY BOOK. longevity 8/10 6-8 hours on my skin projection poor to moderate 6/10 overall smell 9/10 ill give high remarks on this one as i enjoy the overall smell uniqueness 9/10 very unique i have not smell any similar scent in my collection or any fragrance in my experience. price vs quality 9/10 you can basically get it at 74 usd which i think is very much reasonable versatility cold weather scent day or night, works good on summer nights. Recap 2023: 10 years have passed 😂 and i still have 2 bottles of this, the other one is still sealed, it’s an awesome tea based scent cold, calm, clean and very refreshing at thesame time truly vintage and a must if you’re into collecting fragrances. Scent is timeless and never gets dated.

This cologne has a very warm, comforting, relaxing vibe and has garnered me more compliments than all the other colognes I wear combined. Everybody seems to love it, but few people are wearing it. Yes, I agree projection and longevity are average. The component notes are all there - tea, bergamot, olive leaf, cinnamon, violet, pimento, myrrh, musk, and tobacco - all blended very well. To me that sounds like a combo that shouldn't work (on paper), but it totally does. I don't get the "cucumber" that some folks smell, or "fart cucumber", as one reviewer put it. That review was posted in 2021, after Gucci discontinued the fragrance, so maybe he bought up some oxidized, poorly-kept specimen off e-bay. By the way, this contains a black tea accord, not green tea note as one would find in Silver Mountain Water, for example, which smells entirely different. When my supply ran out, I used Hanae Mori HM for a while. It's a fair proxy as they do share cinnamon, violet, and bergamot notes. GPM II could be worn year-round in my opinion, maybe a little less-suited for Summer. HM is primarily Fall scent in my mind because it has a earthier, raked-up-fall-leaves aspect. At any rate, HM is super hard to find now so I wonder if it was discontinued. Parfums Vintage makes a spot-on, I mean SPOT. ON. clone called Imbue, but I've only bought that once since feel all of their products are over-priced (but excellent quality!) The Dua Brand also makes an excellent "inspired" cologne called Man Card VIP which is my current favorite. I feel confident saying the projection and longevity are better than the OG, but maybe that's just my poor memory. (I don't have the original around to compare). Several fragrance oil houses make fair, but not great, versions of GPH II. Musk and Hustle is better than most of them IMHO. They make roll-ons which are good for sprucing up later in the day as the projection fades. Does anybody have any idea or opinion why Gucci discontinued this? Sometimes fragrance trends and corporate decisions boggle the mind.
