Clean Rain

This was my first “big girl fragrance” years ago when I had just started college. I am not into soapy freshies and back then was a fruity only type of gal so I felt this was my first break away from the VS body sprays and Rue21 perfume lol. This fragrance is still lovely to me and a great aquatic dewy melon scent plus I am a huge fan of melon. It doesn’t smell like rain no, but, I do think it can be unisex and appeal to those who love sweet/fruity scents but want to try something fresh. Doesn’t have the best longevity but since I see its very affordable now I still give it my seal of approval. I actually tried Mac Turquatic and felt like it was a watered down version of Rain, it also reminds me of Acqua di Gioia and is the reason I don’t own that fragrance as I preferred the added melon note in this (definitely over D&G L’Imperatrice I get the melon but its not my favorite) I see people hating on this so maybe I’ve got a weird nose but I don’t see it leaving my collection.

I might be in the minority here but this is love to me. Maybe it's impossible for me to review this scent objectively as the second I smell it I am transported into my childhood memories - it smells exactly like a wet garden does on a summer day in my home country Finland. It reminds me of my late grandma's garden at her cottage where I used to play a lot when I was young. It's that serenity of the moment after rain. It's a very aquatic fragrance, you can almost feel the weatness when you wear this fragrance. It is a very simple fragrance after all, but just so masterfully done that I have no complaints, at all. Unexpectedly, this has become one of my favorite fragrances. I love love love it. The only thing that sort of made me ponder about getting this first was whether I want to smell like a wet garden or not, but I have know realized that I definitely do. I whole heartedly recommend this fragrance, though it is not a very 'perfume-y' perfume .

So I will start off by saying that this brand is my jam! Fresh fragrances are y thing, so a line called CLEAN spoke to me! For my review-yep it’s clean and fresh it’s melon, and I saw some likening this to Happy Hearts and Green Tea Cucumber (funny enough two of my personal favourites) and I can see where that comes from, the melon and aquatic notes are there for all three of them. So what I am a bit confused about though is this-Last week I ordered a roller ball layering set with I think six from this brand -rain included- and then I decided I would purchase the full size bottle of spray 60mls of Rain and the two almost seem to be different, like the longevity and potency were better in the roller ball then the spray. I did just get the bottle delivered about an hour ago so maybe I’m having an off day or something I will check back in a few days but I just wanted to put that out there

clean shower, soapy, melon-y, sweet-ish juicy smell. feels a bit early 2000s, think frutiger aero without the metal-y ness. it absolutely does not smell like rain. no dampness, no earthyness, no dustiness. i adore it despite its misleading name. sprayed it once at sephora when i started my fragrance journey 3 years ago, a little disappointed it lasted maybe 30 minutes. couldnt get that juicy refreshing, but not too sweet, smell out of my head. came back a month after, sprayed it again to confirm i was ready to buy, only to be confused as to why it gave me a headache immediately. i realize that this shitty imposter had the same name but was clean RESERVE instead. sephora stopped carrying the clean classics. i searched far and wide online only to find it discounted at a winners. it's so precious to me and my bf will steal a few sprays when he wants a neutral clean and light scent.

Wow! This took me aback. If you simply inhale without looking for or picking apart notes this really could be something after a good rain. I fell in love with the freshness, the sweetness, the sheer way you can almost taste some of the melon notes. AND, AND (this never seems to happen with light fresh fragrances) it has awesome staying power. I put this on and still had it lingering eight hours later. I got Rain as part of a three rollerball set and it was handsdown my favorite. I purchased Kate Spade's Walk On Air a few years ago hoping it would smell just like this ironically enough. I do blind buys a lot based on notes and I'm so glad I did that here. It's not going to be a signature, but definitely one that gets a lot of exposure. Edit~~~~ I ate my words. This has become a signature scent for me. It's just easy to wear. Easy to choose, not expensive, non-offensive. Perfect.
