Rain

Tis be a perfume that I have as a participant of a collection of 4 that I wish to keep for life. A neutral scent this is. I wanted to smell like the rain because it is a memorable scent. Moreover, I felt that the rain scent would be a nice, insignificant smell that would be effective to play in case I didn't want to participate in a specific scent. In other words, this perfume was to be a filler scent that would not be special. This perfume was initially outside of my search parameters as I was trying to directly find a water scent via a note search. Then, I decided to search the word rain to comb through particular scents. I find this perfume to conclude that search. In reviewing the simplicity of this perfume's note layers, I found this perfume to be a risk in purchasing. Given that this perfume was to be a filler, it should represent its symbolic position within my collection of fragrance by having a cheap cost. Also, I didn't want to succumb to the horrors of purchasing 100 mL of alcohol smell. Hence, I found the price of about 90 bucks on Sephora to be a gamble. In retrospect, I found this perfume to be a good representation of a body odor at peace. This perfume is humble yet fulfilling in its use of white flowers to provide some resource to smell from. Want a perfume that is quiet, humble, and versatile, because that was what this perfume embodied to me. In concern to that collection of 4 that I mentioned, I find this perfume to be more permanent as it would be quite hard to perfect such a perfume. Perhaps, the infamously expensive rain smell that comes from India as an oil combined with these notes would be an upgrade. However, this wish is more ideal than real.

I'm a lover of all things natural and minimalistic, when I had £15 worth of Ndulge points on my SpaceNK card and couldn't find anything that jumped out at me, I stumbled upon this and I'm glad I have. Firstly, I love the concept behind CLEAN fragrances, I like the whole idea that they help to evoke or prolong feelings of being clean or being caught in a refreshing summer rain storm and I also love that they are cruelty free and that the packaging and ingredients are sustainably sourced. The bottle for starters looks elegant and minimal, its made of thick glass which has a nice weight and with the wooden cap and paper label, it looks really lovely amongst my other bottles, the cap also fits on the sprayer tightly and doesnt slip off meaning its easy to travel with it. As for the scent itself, it really does smell like rain, but more of a summer rain storm when you're walking through a woods, the patchouli really gives this a pleasant wet soil type nuance and there is something a bit salty running through this from beginning to end as well, I cannot really pick out the other notes bar the patchouli, but it does smell wonderful and fresh. For an EdP, its quite soft but I feel that is just the nature of the CLEAN Reserve range of scents, 4 sprays will last me for about 5 hours but its quite soft and close to skin, so depending on how the mood takes me am a bit heavy handed on the trigger, but I absolutely love this one! Definite repurchase in the future, a solid spring/summer staple!

I have the 10ml travel spray. This is such a pretty perfume. It smells like a heavy downpour. One of those days where the rain droplets are completely soaking all of the plants and their leaves seem even greener and more vibrant against the grey sky and atmosphere. All you can hear is the powerful sound of rain pelting down. It’s strikingly refreshing, green, and clean, but the patchouli lends some sensuality in the dry-down. On the packing it’s noted that the fragrance family for Rain is “watery musk” and that’s a completely accurate categorization in my opinion. There’s almost a faint sea salt note or the aura of something salty, but not quite. It mixes really well with my skin chemistry. I love that the travel size is a spray and not a rollerball. The packaging is minimalistic and beautiful.

Clean, fresh, simple, citrusy, elegant. There isn't any complexity to this scent but in this case it's a good thing. It's very pleasant and refreshing. "Minimalist" would be a good word for it, I guess. So far I like everything I try from Clean, it is always so nice and comforting. My favourite is "Skin", but "Rain" has all the chances to replace it now, haha. By the way, not sure why they decided to call it "Rain". Rain is the last thing that comes to my mind when I wear it. This smell is more like an early morning run on a crispy but sunny spring day, when you suddenly encounter a lemon tree of an incredible beauty and stop to look at it to appreciate the moment.

"watery musk" is the perfect description for this fragrance. it smells like sweet rain in the early hours of the morning, so i'm excited to wear it this autumn as i suspect it'll suit the moody atmosphere beautifully. the projection is perfect for my tastes, not too close to the skin that i have to put my nose to it to smell it, but not too strong that my nose is constantly bombarded by scent. i was surprised to see that patchouli is a base note, because it smells light and airy which i don't think are adjectives one would assign to patchouli. it's a beautiful blend, definitely my favourite of the three clean reserve blends i've tried so far.
