They reformulated the classic CLEAN Skin, due to a ban on one of the aroma-chemicals it was made with. The opening of it now smells not at all like it use to unless I used a bad tester at Ulta. I tried this one a few years ago, but for some reason, the tonka bean was just too strong on my skin back then. I didn’t care for it. Since the classic Skin was reformulated, I gave this a shot again. It is so much better. Although there are times I smell the salt heavily at first when spraying this on, it goes away after a few minutes and goes to smelling like how I remember the classic Skin to be. Like someone mentioned, this smells like someone still warm from taking a hot shower or bath with a kind of sweet smelling, but expensive soap with a musky finish. The scent of warm skin. Unless someone is trying really hard to be offended, you won’t get any complaints. You will most likely get a ton compliments, but not for your perfume, but that you smell good. That’s the point of this line. Just to smell nice, clean, fresh. Yes, I know, you could just take a shower for that, but if you want to prolong that sweet, fresh, shower smell rather than perfume through out the day, this is the way to go. This actually lasts all day, but it is subtle. Also, some people are anosmic to certain musks, so you may not smell this on you, but it’s there. I’m not anosmic, however had people compliment me 12 hours after spraying it on. I could only smell it when I put my wrist up to my nose because I’ve become accustomed to the smell, but someone else can smell it right away. Speaking of musk, if you’re one that wears musk very well, this can be an aphrodisiac. I’ve had men tell me that the scent is extremely sexy on me. So it works with the natural pheromones. I also have you know that this is one of the only scents I can put on and immediately pet my cat. She doesn’t like the smell of citrus, so she will move away if she smells citrus too strongly, but this? She will jump right in my lap as I sit down, even after just spraying this on. So it’s pet approved. There are other things about the brand that vegan, environmental and animal activists, and people looking for things that help economically and sustainability while helping other cultures and people globally, will love.

For some time now, I've been dreaming of a fragrance... a warm, gentle fragrance, a touch sweet - a whisper of nectar-like sweetness. Just noticeable enough for someone to smell you as you walk by them. This is that fragrance. I'm a sucker for bergamot and how it's sweet and dewy and refreshing at the same time, this is the perfect opening for a fragrance like this-- after all, I started daydreaming of this dream scent after smelling the beauty of 000 by Le Monde Gourmand, a bergamot-heavy fragrance, and playing around with layering Lake & Skye's 11 11 Vanilla and Dedcool's Xtra Milk-- which I still like in its own vein, but these two fragrances definitely standalone as separate beauties. The "skin" note definitely confuses me but I don't mind it, it just adds this extra layer of depth to the sweet musk of it all. I really adore each and every note in here and how they all contribute to this sweet musk of a dream. Even the vanilla orchid and orange blossom, which I've always been able to sniff out in a fragrance, are used so complimentarily (is that a word? Autocorrect is giving me mixed signals) in here. I really do love it and it's magnetic to me. Next, the praline absolutely drives me wild. It's addicting, it's sweet yet mild, it's just right. This is my goldilocks perfume. She catches your eye (your nose?) just as you may think this is an unassuming skin musk. I could hover on this scent trail like a cartoon character. Like really. I only smelled this in store and evaluated longevity immediately and some hours after. I think it's pretty good for the Clean brand. I can't recall the sillage timespan but I recall getting whiffs of her within an hour after. I never thought to give this fragrance a try despite its popularity, purely because my nose and taste hadn't evolved to like/want these kinds of scents yet. But I'm glad I can say I've found this goldilocks perfume of mine :)

For me , it’s the best feminine musk ever . I love this ! Upon first spray I couldn’t believe my nose, it’s so difficult to explain. I’ve tried several fragrances looking for something clean but not detergent nor laundry, subtle but feminine, warm but wearable year long , inoffensive yet appealing, and this is IT! It smells literally like your skin but better, as if you are just out of the shower and had the most lengthy and pricey skin care routine and your skin just smells amazing. It’s like I’m not wearing perfume, as if I am the one smelling this good naturally. I love it , I wanna wear it everyday , to bed , to stay home, to be comfy but classy, it’s elevated femininity in a bottle. The problem I have is the performance, it sits close to you and your skin, maybe that’s the point but it’s very easy to use the whole bottle because you gotta give it several sprays. I’ve tried other clean perfumes that feel to soapy to me, I don’t wanna smell like linen per se , or like manly soap or aftershave, this on the other hand is the perfect musk/your skin cent It is such a well balanced perfume 100000/10

Such a comforting, cozy, sweet and almost gourmand fragrance while still being fresh and light. One of my absolute favorites! However the notes listed here on Fragrantica are pretty misleading though since they don’t correspond with the actual scent. On CLEAN’s website these are the notes: Top Notes: Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Honeysuckle Middle Notes: Warm Skin Accord, Vanilla Orchid, Sunkissed Peony Base Notes: Salted Praline, Fresh Musks, White Cedarwood And you do really get that musky, slightly salty skin-like qualities in this as well as lactonic sweetness from the praline. (Which are the notes listed here) However I feel the flowers in Skin Reserve actually are very important and noticeable in the composition. They stop it from being too cloying and adds complexity, sweetness and freshness.

I received a rather large sample of this last year and ended up really loving it, so I bought the large size bottle. I wore it a lot initially and then took a break, but I just started wearing it again. Clean Skin is subtle. Someone won't smell it unless they're close to you, but I like that, it adds to the wearer's mystery. The fragrance has quite a bit of candy sweetness to it combined with a clean laundry like freshness. It doesn't linger ages, which is nice if you want to change perfumes later in the evening. I think it would be good for layering too, although, I've never tried that with this fragrance. Clean Skin is just such a comfortable scent. I don't feel overwhelmed by it like I can be by some of my stronger fragrances. This is my basic everyday fragrance. I love it!

what you see is what you get. it smells like clean skin, subtle enough that you smell lovely but not quite 'perfumed'. there's an addictive hint of sweetness that i find well-balanced with the salty notes; i suspect it's due to the tonka bean. a gorgeous scent for people who get sick after smelling perfume for an extended period of time but still want to smell noticeably pleasant. i would even wear this to bed to romanticise my evening. edit: i sprayed a bit more to get a better sense of the notes and the scent became slightly cloying due to the additional sweetness. i think this is a fragrance best suited to minimalist sprayers, one spray behind each ear and one spray on each inner elbow seems to be my limit before the scent loses its minimalist essence.

The scent of this is absolutely gorgeous. The top notes are floral, but not so much as to overwhelm those softer praline notes. As it warms on the skin, the scent softens to something very cozy and subtle. Great for spring/fall, but bright enough to be worn in the summer, too. Definitely a daytime scent. I'm a healthcare worker and I usually avoid wearing perfume at work to be kind to patients with allergies and sensitive noses. That being said, this is soft and subtle enough to wear to work without being overwhelming. My new go-to for weekdays for that reason. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't last long. I often find myself wanting to reapply after 2 hours or so. Beautiful perfume, just wish it had a bit more staying power.

i loved the *reserve blend* of skin. sweet and warm in the sense that it feels familiar and comforting, but definitely not gourmand. the salted praline and musk notes keep it grounded. my nose picks up white musk specifically, which adds a clean layer. not outright soapy or powdery, but reminiscent of fresh-out-the-shower skin at a nice, modern hotel on a weekend trip. clean, creamy, plush, invigorated yet relaxed. the honeysuckle adds a crave-worthy brightness that works so well with the nutty, salty notes and adds interest to the tonka. i don’t get any leather. although i love clean reserve skin, i did NOT like clean classic skin. the latter smelled like a bouquet of baby’s breath to me.

The absolute perfect skin scent in existent, it captures the 'your skin but better' perfectly. It has the salt and leather and sweetness and floral to make the perfect contrast making it smell like exactly skin but clean, fresh out the shower clean but no hints of body wash or perfumes. It's a blend sweet n salty skin without making it obvious, it's just u but better and just cleaned yourself. It's very light and subtle, but it's the perfect amount of subtle, enough to make a statement. It's got a really close to skin sillage so only those to put their noses up to your skin can smell it, but this thing lasts the whole day. This is exactly why it's perfect as a skin scent ;)

The opening of this fragrance starts with alcohol and a floral note, which is weird because there are no floral notes listed. the alcohol scent dissipates fast while the floral freshness lasts a little longer. as it dries down I get a salted caramel like scent that sits very close to my skin. In my opinion the salt note actually contributes a lot to the scent, as it'd lack something interesting to cut through the praline without it. The very first time I actually wore this scent I immediately got complimented. Which is funny because I sat on an unused travel size of this for quite some time, as I was initially taken back by the floral opening.

I have a huge dent in my travel size of this, and I'll definitely buy a full bottle. To me, this is scent is a rainy day, cuddled underneath your favorite, freshly washed blanket (with a healthy dose of fabric softener). It smells quite sweet at first but dries down into a true your-skin-but-better scent; it really does feel like YOU smell good, and not like you put a perfume on intentionally. I think the saltiness of this fragrance is what puts some people off, but to me that's definitely what makes it a true "skin" scent. A nice everyday scent that won't offend anyone, and will smell quite comforting to anyone that goes in for a hug.

The perfect warm yet fresh musky scent. I tested on my hand and the projection was surprisingly good. It also lasted very long on my skin. I would describe it as you have just showered and are completely clean, the scent of your dove or nivea soap lingers and you use a lightly perfumed lotion afterwards. Perfect when you want to feel clean, cozy and relaxed. It has a calming effect and I love that. The base becomes more sensual, the praline and musk are very addictive. Like the name suggests, this is the perfect sweet skin scent. More floral than Juliette Has A Gun Not a Perfume, sweeter than Glossier's You, but in the same warm, close-sitting, skin-scent family. Perfect for layering with other scents to give them more of a warm, personal base. It's gentle and subtle, won't last all day but is lovely nonetheless. I like to wear this one at home, curled up on the couch with a blanket, where I can smell myself and feel warm and cozy. It's not cloying or headache inducing because of how light it is, but it's just sweet enough to make me feel clean and pretty. Love her.

FINALLY a skin scent i love!!! i am so happy i tried a sample of this instead of writing off skin scents completely after everything ive tried. smells so airy and ethereal. its your skin but actually better. slightly sweet, musky, and the smallest touch of florals. a skin scent that doesnt smell like soap or laundry on me. i am in heaven. i have a full bottle already and this will quickly become a staple in my collection. i see myself wearing it to bed, to layer with other scents, and when i want to smell nice without making noise like at the movies, in a car, any enclosed spaces really.

The scent reminds me of my youngself in high-school. I wear a similar perfume butbi forgot what was it. It's clean, intimate and feels like out of the shower vibes. Can definitely smell the praline and salt on the initial spray but settles in a musky, clean and airy scent. Projection at arms length for the first hour. I think the scent lasted better on my skin compared when sprayed to my clothes. I also have to overspray to make it last 6-8 hrs or layer with JHG to last the whole day. It's really good for layering, i tried it vanilla, musky, woody and gourmand scent and it blends well

this is one of my favorite scents ever, i used to have a small sample my mom gave me and i didn't like it at first. then, i did. and it just became such a lovely second skin scent and caused me to kinda fall in love with warm lactonic fragrances, its musky, it's clean, it's warm, it's skin. it's just incredible. problem for me is, i ruined my bottle of it by forgetting that i was sitting in direct sunlight. now it just kinda smells like alcohol. still love this, won't repurchase anymore cause i find myself not reaching for it but i still appreciate it for what it is.

I am a chronic people pleaser, for better and for worse. Even though I do love me an ‘interesting’ perfume, I hate being told that I smell ‘weird’. This is exactly why I love Clean Skin Reserve. This is, by far, the most inoffensive perfume I own. It’s inviting, delicate, and not very strong. Perfect for everyday wear. It is kind of lacking in the performance department though. It’s barely detectable after 4 hours, so that’s something to keep in mind. But this is, in spite of that, my favorite perfume. I’ll probably have to get another one before summer‘s over😊

This is absolutely not a fruity floral as described by some reviewers. It's a musky freshy with a hint of florals and salt. The praline note is far away in the background adding a hint of sweetness. The opening is harsh, like a blast of alcohol followed up by 3 minutes of aceton. You can tell they didn't spend much money on this formula or something is missing to balance the opening. However, weird enough, I kinda like the aceton opening. There's something comforting about it. Yes I know how weird that sounds... I only use this when going to bed however.

One of my favorite your skin but better fragrances. It reminds me of my grandmas perfume from the 80's and 90's. I think it was Jessica McClintock, which is a great thing, she always smelled amazing. Clean Skin lasts 24+ hours on my skin although its intimate and close to the skin you can still smell it. This smells so good! It's fresh, it's creamy, it's clean. It's unfortunately lacking in projection and the longevity is okay. I used a vial from a discovery set and gosh I savored it because it has a heavenly scent. I think if I were to find this at a lower decent price, I'd get it to use as an everyday fragrance and even bedtime fragrance. It can absolutely be worn year round. I'm keeping it on my want list because I don't think I could live my whole life without owning a full bottle at some point but I'm in no hurry to get it.
