Sueded Oud

Going back and forth on this one... at first, I enjoyed it and got a sample of it to see how I liked it over multiple uses. I love Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot and thought this seemed similar, but with a "white" background and a bit more creaminess. I find this to have a sort of peppery note, almost like a fresh pepper being sliced for a recipe. My body chemistry mixes with this and almost seems to read as B.O..... your results may vary, though. Overall, I find this to be pleasant, is noticeable for at least several hours, and seems pleasant from first spray to dry down. However, for me, there's something funky about it and when mixing with my body chemistry/natural smell, reads almost as B.O. in its dry down. BUT... certain times I've worn this, I don't get that vibe, and it is more appealing. It may just be that I prefer the Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot, which reads as a more piney and winter-friendly scent. I purchased the mini from Sephora and will update my review once I've worn this more. UPDATE - I think I may have just had legit B.O. the day I thought this was the cause because since then I've re-worn Sueded Oud several times and I LOVE IT!!! While the longevity is so-so (detectable maybe 5-6 hrs) the scent is AWESOME and is such a confidence-exuding scent. The dry down is a little simple and the oud doesn't follow to the fragrance's conclusion, just a bright, sweetish musk. However, I don't wear a TON of perfume and I don't typically receive compliments, but I did receive a compliment when I was wearing a jacket sprayed with Sueded Oud 6 hours earlier and gave someone a hug :^) TRY THIS ONE! I like it best when I spritz each *top* of the wrist, neck, and one spritz to walk through.

OMFG!!! I tried this on while I was at Sephora 2 hours ago, and I can't stop smelling my wrist. I stopped off to get dog food and got a compliment on how good I smell. At first sniff I wasn't too sure I liked it. It opened up with a sharp (pimento?), raw, dirty sex (musk? incense?) smell. Within 10 minutes it softened and I began to smell cypress, fir, and oud. That's when I became hooked. It only took another 10 minutes or so before suede and amber began to mingle with the cypress, fir, oud, musk, and incense. Within a few minutes magnolia and honeysuckle blossoms added to the chorus. Over 2 hours in, I'm smelling a hint of jasmine, quite a bit of frankincense, and a touch of sophisticated patchouli - but, I can still smell all the other notes. As it develops, the top notes don't give way to the middle notes, which don't step aside for the base notes. This is a fragrance that keeps building on itself. It's a bewildering, unconventional, labyrinthine scent. I don't think this is a scent everyone will fancy. On me, Sueded Oud has moderate bordering on heavy sillage. I've now been wearing it for about 5 hours and although it's fading, I can still smell it. And, although faint now, it's hauntingly beautiful. EDIT: I just woke up and I can STILL smell this 11 hours later! What a great way to start a new day.

Wow, CLEAN’s Sueded Oud is a fantastic, if simple, scent. A light, smoky woodiness with a wisp of leather, over a mild underlying sweetness from praline. Another reviewer described Sueded Oud as a “diet” version of Margiela’s By the Fireplace, and that about nails it. You’re no longer “by the fireplace,” but you’re downwind from that fireplace’s chimney, its odor mingling with the fresh air outside. I also detect some similarities with Jo Malone’s Oud and Bergamot, though this smells a bit airier, a smidge more unisex. Just divine. A crowd-pleaser that’s still unique when compared to other scents that line Sephora’s shelves. However, one criticism: I wish Sueded Oud had better longevity. It persists for a few hours on skin, then needs retouching. Longevity issues have prevented me from purchasing other fragrances in the past, but not here. It’s simply too good, hitting that pleasure center of my brain. Spray with abandon; it’ll never overpower the senses. Inhale, and *ahhhhhhhhhh...”!

I just got this back in my collection (and this is my second but slightly more positive review on this perfume) but in a big decant instead of the 100ml bottle I sold 2 years ago (I regretted selling it almost immediately after doing so) and it's just a really lovely cosy sweater-scent. I'm in Sweden and I'd wear this the most in September to November when the leaves are changing, the moss is dewy, and the mushrooms are emerging. And then again in March and April when it starts getting brighter outside and it's more rainy than sunny. For me personally it's hard to tell which note(s) are the most prominent because it is so mellow yet not dull. Definitely unisex. It is an unoffensive skin scent for sure. If this lasted more than 5-6 hours, it would be on my favourites-shelf. I saw someone suggest in another review to layer it with Another 13, I have a dupe of that, so I'm going to try that out.

This is a lovely unique scent - I'd say if handsome contractors in Whistler had a skin scent, it would be this fragrance. I get a decent amount of a fresh aromatic green accord (cypress and fir), followed by the suede and slightly animalic oud, which eventually mellows into a patchouli praline musk. It is unisex, but just ever so slightly leaning masculine. I (a woman) do wear it, however. It is subtle and posh smelling, BUT sadly, I get a weird natural peanut butter note on my skin...I keep trying to make it work, as I think wearing it on skin makes it shine, and a bit is lost on clothes...but maybe not my skin. Will try in all seasons. Weak longevity and sillage, but nice. Edit: I suspect the weird peanut butter note (which eventually goes away, but makes the opening unenjoyable for me) is a combo of the praline and oud. Second edit: This shines in warmer weather on me. No more PB note.

One thing to understand about “Clean” is that all of their fragrances have a base that smells like freshly laundered clothes. So whenever you see a title of one of their fragrances, just know it’s going to smell like that title plus freshly laundered clothes- Suede Oud is no different... “Sueded Oud” smells mostly like an airy, light, woody incense. Just below that is a lightly sweet floral musk & in the base is their signature freshly laundered clothes accord. Longevity isn’t bad for me (6-8hrs), however projection is rather poor. This is a well blended fragrance imo. It’s definitely 50/50 unisex- woody, incense represent the masculine side while the floral musk make up the feminine. Most all ladies will love this scent, perhaps just slightly more to wear than to smell on a man. Great fragrance 8.5/10!

A complex and challenging experience. This scent is dominated by the dry, ceremonial notes of incense and faded roses, but quickly gives way to something far more visceral. There's a sharp, metallic chill that strangely conjures the pristine, sterile air of a doctor's office, carrying a whisper that unnervingly hints at the scent of blood. Maybe it's just my skin's chemical make-up but I'd be interested to see anyone else smells the metalic blood in this. This is not a dupe for TF Oud Wood. This is a completely different scent - it is much MUCH lighter. I have TF Oud Wood which opens with a blast of rosewood and cardamom. UPDATE: I have to say that this has quickly become my favorite Fall/Winter scent. Layering Suede Oud and Santal + Vetiver is my signature scent Fall/Winter 2025

This fragrance was one of the first ones I ever had that made me want to smell it continuously. I kept my empty bottle around to smell for years because I couldn't find it anymore for a little bit and thought Clean had discontinued it. To my pleasant surprise, it is now in stock on their website and I'll be reordering immediately! It smells like the feeling you get when you walk out of your cold air conditioned house into the warm sunshine rays outside on your back porch. Cozy, comforting, creamy, rich. I'm reminded of things like aged leather, woods, and smoke, but rounded out with a pillowy sweetness to bring it all together.

This is my first Oud fragrance, and wow is this a lovely into to Oud! Something about this reminds me of my mom in the 90’s or Rachel Green in Friends (in a positive, fashionable woman way). I definitely get the cactus flower and honeysuckle, which are two of my favorite notes in a fragrance!! Those give this a fresh, uplifting quality that I think could make this wearable year round. The suede note is like smelling the inside of a fresh leather bag, so wealthy and quiet luxury coded. I can sense I will be reaching for this one a TON. So unique and signature scent worthy!

As this is my first fragrance that has oud in it, I can't really speak on how it's supposed to smell, but this is a comforting, slightly smoky, woody, warm skin-scent musk. Very soft sillage, definitely sits close to the skin on me personally. Same effect projection-wise. Moderate longevity, can still smell it (faintly) after 7 hours. A successful (and affordable) blind buy on an auction site for me, but I would not pay full price for the performance it gives. There are probably similar fragrances to this (composition-wise) that are more bang for your buck.

Love this scent. It's opening is fresh and a little spicy, but of course it’s mostly woody and musky on the dry down. There is an underlying softness and creaminess from suede, but it’s a sweet smelling suede and it’s accompanied by hints of floral. Amongst all this is the oud, which definitely adds some smokiness and warmth, but it manages well to smell clean. Perfectly on brand. It’s complex and beautiful and I’ve received plenty of compliments. Great for those colder days when you just want to smell cozy and amazing.

Boy oh boy was I excited to try this....a blind buy of course🤣 and safe to say, I love it❣️❣️❣️!!! Smells so elevated❣️.....a woody floral concotion which smells more than you pay for it. The oud is tammed, so do not be afraid of the notes. They seem a lot, but they are blended to perfection. You get a bit of the sweetness from the praline, light florals and just a hint of woodiness or maybe that sexy suede accord peeking through. Divine juice!!!! ❣️❣️❣️Niche quality for sure. Will repurchase!!!!!

I'm not big on strong leather or suede scents, but nevertheless I adore this. It's oud, but well balanced with other floral and resiny notes so that it's still beautifully complex. The suede scent is in the background, where it belongs, in my opinion. I've tried all of Clean's reserve line and this is one with better lasting power and sillage than others. If you like oud, but you don't necessarily want JUST oud (or overpowering oud), this is a great option to at least sample or try on.

Received my full bottle today and I’m delighted. Don’t expect a full on bold oud fragrance, but perhaps it’s something to consider if you want to wear a softer oud that’s not so intimidating and less in-your-face (there are times when we need something gentler smelling). It’s a great entry level oud fragrance, it’s easy to wear all year around. The leather note here is more like suede. Just lovely, cosy and comforting and really well blended. A blind buy that I don’t regret.

Soft, warm and musky. I` m new to oud, and figured this was a good place to start. This is pleasant and cosy. Amber, birch, suede and oud can easily be detected. A really pleasant and clean smelling scent. Surprisingly well blended... like a warm a comforting hug. Soft silage and moderate longevity. Its the kind of scent which you can put on and enjoy before going to bed. REALLY good one from clean. The beautiful dry down reminds me of Nasengold #S Totally and utterly love !

Sueded Oud is a sleeper! Gorgeous crackling dry wood (I smell cedar lumber) and smooth amber (not the gooey sweet stuff). The suede and patchouli can be bossy in other scents but here they are thankfully toned down but both adds to the palpably dry texture. There's a subtle smokiness but no outright oud or incense. Sueded Oud is the olfactory portrait of a dessicated tree in the middle of a desert. The throw is impressive even with one spray. Unique and extremely pleasant!

I just got this in the mail. It is not something I would have bought as a blind buy without being influenced on Youtube. Im usually out on anything that is labeled oud. That being said, I love this. It is so light and clean. It will be perfect for work. It is perfect to layer with anything. Perfect for the gym. I didn't think I would love this as much as I do. It is up there with Skin and Solar Bloom from this line. Will buy again when I see a deal on a bottle.

Wearing this on my hands and wrists today along with a heavy spray of DKNY BD all over my clothing. I enjoy everything about Clean Sueded Oud! This is my kind of easy wear fragrance. Just grab and go without worry. It is perfect for this very cold winter day. The incense, wood and olibanum are soothing and smell of a smoky fireplace to me. This is not really unique as smells go, but it is good quality and I trust it to perform the same every time I wear it.

The perfect easy reach any time of the year! Just enough sweetness, wood, green notes--complex set of notes, but very easy to wear. So glad the brand brought this one back! Here's how CLEAN describes it: "Inspired by a study in contrast. This unisex fragrance is the culmination of smoky darkness and airy lightness. The intoxicating dark oud softened by whispers of light florals and an underlying creamy sweetness creates an exotic signature fragrance."

This has a very interesting, nostalgic quality to it for me. This combination of ingredients reminds me of something in my past, but I can’t figure out exactly what that is. Nonetheless, this is a nice, pleasant scent. If oud in there, its very light, and that is fine for me, as I get a negative reaction with strong oud scents. Love the smell of oud, but it does not reciprocate back.
