Velvet Flora

I’m not sure what notes it is exactly, but the opening through mid reminds me of a blue / aquatic fragrance - maybe it’s the lily? The saffron takes some time to come out, but it’s so interesting and livens the whole scent up. The drydown has that Clean-brand soapy white musk, but mixed with some cedar and oak moss. It’s like when night falls at the campsite and it’s chilly even though it’s summer, so you put on the freshly washed sweatshirt you brought and get a whiff of the clean laundry. This lasts all day on me if I spray on top of lotion, but never projects far. It lasts absolute ages on clothes, and makes my sweaters and jackets smell like I use very expensive and classy fabric softener. It’s unisex and office friendly, though it really reminds me of being outside. I always feel a little goofy putting on perfume just to stop by the farmers market or to head out on a hike, but this would be perfect for exactly that.

This is lovely, and has the Clean DNA in it that makes it hard to discriminate individual notes. The woody cedar isn't strong and holds the lily and saffron together with the mossy base. I didn't really get the top note of bergamot, but there are so many base notes that it's competing against a lot. This is soft and very office friendly. I'd say it leans feminine although it is unisex. I like this one so much I checked out the prices online; but considering the longevity, which is only a couple of hours on me, and the sillage, which is moderate and then a skin scent after about 30 minutes, it doesn't make sense at that price point. Ah Clean...this reserve is lovely but only dateable...I can't commit long term until I win a lottery. Check out a sample, but don't blind buy this unless you don't blink at the price.

The difference between enjoying this fragrance and being disappointed by it is in the name. When I first purchased this I was looking for a floral experience that didn't exist and I didn't like this. However, focusing on the mentioned notes and accords has turned this into a love. The saffron is so enjoyable. I cannot describe how pleasing it is to me. Above all, this scent is spicy and woody while keeping its Clean identity. The white florals help this lean feminine. It also has better projection that other CR scents. I don't love its short longevity but I love everything else especially the delicate oriental touch. It's office friendly but something about this makes it lactonic and so relaxing. I feel like I'm bathing in coconut milk, spices, white floral petals, all while lighting Palo Santo in the middle of the forest.

Velvet Flora is a woody, mossy, patchouli floral. Very unisex. I get violet w/ this one which is strange because it isn't listed but I smell it all the same. Mossy, patchouli, violet, woody. This leans more masculine. A nice floral for a man. Green and dusky violet are the colors that come to mind when I smell this.

The name is a bit misleading on this one. It’s is a warm woody scent with a light spicy feeling from the saffron. I get almost no florals. It is definitely unisex leaning a bit masculine. The dry down is more creamy and clean. It’s a nice scent - but not something I need a full bottle of.

Beautiful scent from Clean. Fresh, floral and woody with warmth and smoothness from the saffron. Slightly sweet too. Super inoffensive and mostly unisex, the dry down leans a little masculine. Great in the heat and the cold.

grabbed this for cheap from a discounter, it smells exactly how i remember old school liz claiborne Candies to be. instantly brought me back to my teen years, longer lasting, too.

I have been looking for a perfume with a unisex scent, that somehow reminds me of Le Labo. And I thought that this is pretty much there. Also, i found it on sale for half price so I just bought it. Being a bit unfamiliar with the perfumes from Clean, i also got a tester for the perfume. And even though I love the scent, I am very disappointed by its longevity. On me, the perfume fades in about an hour or so. I believe a perfume of this price should do better. Therefore, I do not recommend it.

Very faint aquatic liliy/ muguet scent. At first i thought i couldn't smell it but then i tried it on skin and it smells faint aquatic green/ floral second-skin scent. Fresh, green, muguet, clean, simple, synthetic and unique. Below average sillage and longitivity. Edit: as i wore it more it kept reminding me of sharpies......

On me this is 100% masculine. Heavy bergamot, cedar and musk. The amber and saffron give it slight depth but not anything feminine. Nice but generic men's scent and I expect more at this price point.

This is as unisex as it gets for a female fragrance. What I mean is that this is a women's fragrance that seems like it could also be for men, without the "men's cologne" edge to it. It's very clean, yes, but for women. My opinion is that it is a pleasant, non-threatening and easy enough to wear scent that for some people, this will be a daily kind of go-to scent. It won't offend anyone and is not so sharp as to be annoying. I like it. It is bright and yet calm, so it would be easy to wear. But in such a crowded field of fragrances, this is the type of fragrance that can get lost in the shuffle. But it is certainly pleasant.

It is completely unisex. I don’t know why it has the word “ flora “ in the title, there is nothing floral in this perfume. All I smell is Aoud, saffron, wood , and a resinous ambre, it reminds me of Alexandre J Aoud Vanille. Strange, one of the few Private Reserve Fresh that doesn’t actually smell like clean laundry or dryer sheets. It is more oriental and woody than I could handle. Luckily I only bought a 5 ml mini, cute and with the wooden cap just like the full size, part of a set. But I don’t think I’ll use it, it isn’t feminine enough for my taste . It is also one of the strongest in the set .

After trying many oud fragrances, including CR Sueded Oud, I find I am just not a big fan of the manipulated agar wood scent. I am aware there is no oud (thankfully) in Velvet Flora but this perfume comes closest to how I would prefer a feminine oud fragrance to actually smell. The saffron gives this one it's nod to the exotic while bergamot and lily kick in some fresh crispness. Moss adds a woodsy quality while amber lends a hint of sweetness. Unisex leaning feminine. All in all I'd rate it an 7 out of 10.

Downy fabric softener. A bit childish and utterly asexual. I get that this line is called "Clean" for a reason and that their whole schtick is about perfumes that smell like household cleaning products, but I really can't imagine a post-pubescent person wanting to smell like this. If I were a towel, however, I'd be all over it.

Its nice, but very very feminine. Im a man and got this from scentbird after loving other clean reserve fragrances. It says unisex, but its 1000% feminine.

This is a nice, soft scent, but rather generic. Not as fresh as the lemon may imply. No much depth also. An uninteresting but pleasant floral.

On me, this fragrance is very unisex with floral touches- but it is very subtle. Also, it reminds me of a gourmand. Highly recommended
