A fresh, green, aquatic citrus scent with just a hint of cosmopolitan wood - a wonderful composition, this. The name alone is exactly what it smells like - happy, bright, effervescent, confident, masculine without going over the top, and just a great smelling fresh fragrance that a lot of the females I’ve let smell this have liked. This is late Spring in a bottle and carries all the freshness and joie de vivre that this time of year has to offer. On my skin this starts out with a burst of variegated citrus and water notes, blending into a clean floral heart and joining with a very subtle woody accord. The scent is extremely pleasant, and is dominated by the citrus, which I love. In my opinion, it is a great all-purpose scent for work and play alike, and it can fit into a variety of situations. This is great for Spring and Summer - light, uncomplicated, and distinctly chivalrous. A number of the females in my orbit have confessed that this smells quite good to them. This might be a superb offering to wear on an evening outing to the cinema for a foreign film and a late stroll in the moonlight. The silage does not last terribly long on me; perhaps 1-2 hours, but the softness and appeal of the fragrance lingers subtly on my skin and makes it great for a snuggle with the girl. This fragrance is playful, and it does indeed make me happy when I wear it. It’s clean and stripped down in a pleasing, artisan fashion. If one likes fresh fragrances such as Armani Acqua Di Giò or its Profondo stablemate, Versace Pour Homme, Mont Blanc Legend Spirit, and similar offerings, this would be a great addition to the collection. The price is much easier on the wallet for a large size, making it a staple in my Spring fragrance wardrobe.

This is my signature fragrance, and I've been using it by a long time; here's a quick break-down of my experience wearing it: * What does it smell like?: almost the same smell when you peel off a mandarin, very strong citrus is the main essence of this perfume. * When can you wear it?: everyday, for office, gym, at the beach, day or night as long as you love in very warm weathers; not recommended for winter (at least, not something I would wear at this season). * Who may wear it?: specially young men, but it's still ok if you're over 30 and you'd like to wear; in my opinion smells a little bit more masculine, but may not be a bad fit for a women, as it has this slightly unisex vibe. However, it differs from Clinique Happy for women, mainly because the women's variant is much more floral-scented and citrus are modestly present. * Blind buy?: if you like citrus scents, it's definitely a yes. * Longevity and projection: modest but pretty much ok for being an EDT; it projects more than Acqua di Gio EDT on my skin (and it is more expensive than this one). You may have to re-apply more than once. * The cosmetic claim "Happy": for short, this is what happiness in my concept smells like, so yes, absolutely. * Would I purchase it again: third bottle, and will keep buying it times that are necessary. In my opinion, is a fragrance that's very easy to wear and like. However, forget about strong projection here, you may have to re-apply more than once if you want to feel it all day long. To me, this is an 8.8/10 fragrance; the major downside, is projection, specially if you like scandalous perfumes.

Clinique Happy was my signature scent for several years while I was living in Miami. It’s perfect for warm weather and carries a youthful, vibrant vibe. Clean, fresh, and fruity, it leans more toward the synthetic side, but in a way that is neither abrasive, harsh, nor headache-inducing. It’s very well crafted and genuinely pleasant. For a fragrance that’s often available at a low price from discounters or found in clearance and promotional sections at duty-free stores, it offers excellent value. What’s amusing is that, despite not being a “fancy” fragrance, it earned me a number of compliments. One in particular stood out: a female friend at a dance party told me I smelled amazing, noting that other men should wear fragrances of similar quality rather than the usual classic, overplayed male scents at parties. That was striking because, while simplistic and not luxurious, Clinique Happy works beautifully and, in its own way, feels unique compared to mainstream male bestsellers. As a side note, I teach social dance and often travel with guest instructors. On one occasion, I showed a small but carefully curated collection of my scents to a female guest instructor, letting her choose which fragrance she would like me to wear during our tours. Out of that selection, she chose Clinique Happy. That small gesture and her choice speak volumes about how pleasant and agreeable this fragrance truly is.

I can't add much to what wonderful things have already been said, so I'll just shut the hell up...except for this perhaps inappropriate story, I first started wearing this about a year after my father passed away. I had been sullen and depressed for most of that year. I finally started taking action to get better and one of the tiniest steps I took (or so I thought) was to buy a fragrance called "Happy". I had never smelled it or even knew of it, but I found it somehow and it was called "Happy" so I bought it as a little joke to myself. "I'll just spray this stuff on myself and I'll get better!" Well it obviously wasn't as easy as that, but with much hard work, I did slowly start to come out of my depression. I had this little routine...every morning I would spray this on myself and I would take a moment to think about all the good in my life...some days it was just a few seconds, other days it was minutes, but I have to tell you, it is pretty tough to stay sad when you are smelling this scent. Overall, it may have played a tiny part in my recovery, but it did play a part, and for that it will always be my favorite scent, for the rest of my life. Whoever named this fragrance, without a doubt picked the most appropriate name, and lucky for me, the name suits me just perfectly now too.

Wow I usually hate orange forward fragrances but at the airport I sprayed on every perfume I layed my eyes on, from the Tom fords to the Paco rabannes to the JPGs. And it’s crazy that this one was the one I walked out thinking I need this. It’s such a light hearted scent you can tell it’s not strong but the scent profile itself dare I say is one of the most enjoyable freshies/orange smelling fragrance I’ve put my nose on. Absolutely stunning scent and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I hate fresh style scents and LOVED this so take it as you will. I will probably get two bottles of this when I’m back from vacation. And will overspray tf out of this because it seems to be a scent that you can overspray without it being overbearing. Also do bear in mind that it is a EDT so that explains why it’s a poor performance fragrance but that aside scent profile wise it’s absolutely STUNNING. Crazy to think this scent was created in 1996, it’s very modern and can EASILY be pulled off now. A scent like this can NEVER get old the DNA is just mouth watering no word of a lie. You WILL enjoy this if you like clean smelling scents, orange shampoo like scents. 10/10!!!!!

It took me sampling this several times while perusing duty free to later buying it on a whim to fill an online basket, to trying it at home on a damp, grey spring day, to loving it. The Wikiparfums listed notes are, as usual, more informative. It mentions linen and a snow accord, which is a little mystefieing I'll admit. A citrus scent layered on musk, indescribable water notes, delicate woods and it's at once fresh and bright yet soft, with no really sharp edges. The linen note is present for me and I find this lasts quite well without ever shouting. All this easy going, almost neutrality, I find sits on my skin so harmoniously and that is the revelation. I already smell like a man, especially on a warm spring day, and I don't need my perfume to shout 'masculinity' on my behalf. That's why I needed to keep trying this, a perfume you wear, not that wears you. It perfectly fits the brief for every day wear, picking the kids up, running errands and the like, without sacrificing, well, anything. The price is amazing for what I think is a timeless gem. One of the very few blind buy worthy frags in my book.

Having been wearing and collecting fragrances for around 23 years now Happy For Men would have to be hands down one of the only fragrances I have went through multiple bottles of. It was my first actual designer cologne and I could never get enough of it. When I was young it was what I would ask for always as a birthday gift and as I got older I just started buying my own bottles. I know Happy extremely well from opening to mid to dry down as I’ve had so many years wearing it and my nose has trained on it so much. Unfortunately like most older fragrances this has been since slightly reformulated and just doesn’t smell quite as good as it use to and it definitely doesn’t perform as well as it used to either which is very saddening. It’s still a phenomenal fragrance though and in my opinion one of the best citrus/fresh fragrances ever created. It still holds up just fine today for the warm weather even though it was created 27 years ago. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking for a heavier citrus orange, fresh, floral and slightly green fragrance. Inexpensive and evokes Happiness!

One of my guilty pleasures from the early 2000s. Still as I remember. Orange, citrus, and floral, on top of an ever-so-faint woody base. Has a slight ocean vibe. There but barely there... lasts an hour or two with light projection before it's a skin scent. In my opinion, there are better modern, orange-forward fragrances out there offering better longevity, projection, and value (Armaf Mandarin Sky comes to mind), but if you are looking for a light, airy, orange trip down memory lane, then this is a good pickup. Spring, summer, and early fall. A good layering option if you're looking to add a light blast of orange to something dark and heavy. The bottle, however, is terrible with possibly the worst atomizer of any fragrance in my collection. Leaks when it sprays. I hope this is just my bottle and not characteristic of the entire line? So long as you keep you manage expectations, this could be a decent addition to your collection if you're in the market for something light, orange, and fun that won't break the bank.

Oh man... PLEASE ignore the naysayers on here crapping on about it not lasting even 5 minutes, I get a very decent 3-5 hours easily each time I wear it and that is with a new bottle/batch purchased within the last 6 months. Do I have the most hydrated skin? Absolutely not... Do I apply this appropriately? Yes I do! It really shines when it heats up on your skin so focus on those hot spots and spraying on clothes makes it pop even more so don't be shy guys. So listen, this right here is an absolute stunner for a citrusy summer/fresh out of the shower vibe that you're looking for. It is such a refreshing, bright, juicy and happy scent. The opening is probably my least favourite part about it as it is very zesty and metallic but once it settles within 15 minutes you get a beautiful citrusy/marine/floral mix that just puts you in a good mood every dam time. Grab a bottle when you find a good deal on it and appreciate it for what it is!

The reminds me of section is totally off to me, this is a minimalist citrus. Maybe I could buy Versace Eau Fraiche but it has more tobacco, this is clean - rid of any complications from the pureness of freshness. Perfect perfect frag. I wish they did mens frags like this in 2024. This is total opposite what they want guys to wear now, which is obnoxious sweet old lady vanilla frags with overdosed ambergris and offensive smoke. Freshies like this hardly exist anymore on the designer shelves presented to the oblivious crowds. Lasts a long time, but the fashion in which the frag is made a discreete one so most noses will not notice; I smell faint traces of it after 12 hours on my arm. A scent that is maxed out on freshness scale is never going to max out on the performance scale, but it is there pushing for a good while for being basically a top note fragrance. Cant imagine anyone not enjoying this if they catch a wiff.

If you are a dude who clicks on YouTube fragrance videos with the phrase “panty-droppers”, this scent is not for you my guy. This is the fragrance equivalent of the guy at work that elevates your day with his complete lack of cynicism. This is the most polite, uplifting, and smile inducing scent a man can wear. I tried it at the mall and was literally skipping back to my car with a huge smile on my face. So maybe you’ve gotta use more sprays than other fragrances, but the scent is incredible. I layer it with Versace Man Eau Fraiche to increase its longevity. A bright mandarin opening with a clean linen dry down with some soft woodsy notes at its base. Update: a little over a year later after some maceration... 6 sprays on the collar has lasted for most of the day. I got so excited I told my wife that it macerated and it seemed to extend the longevity. She said “It’s a sin to macerate.”

First, this has the GREATEST opening in the realm of freshies. The burst of oranges, combined with the shower gel feel is a mood booster. If you're a human being who has a nose and a sense of smell, you will find it pleasant at the very least. As someone who lives in a warm country, I mostly look at freshies. Nothing ever comes close to how good it smells in terms of opening. Second, the drydown is underwhelming. It smells like a muted version of the opening, like remnants of what used to be great. Orange drowned in musk and uninteresting florals. Third, performance is poor. Having this as you daily driver might hurt your wallet. Despite all the negatives, the fact that the opening is as good as it is, it is still one of my favorite freshies.

Versatile, sweet, citrusy, carefree, masculine but without the intensity or seriousness of a typically masculine fragrance. It is correctly named as "happy". I can see it as being appropriate for going to a nicer grocery store, or a daytime lunch or coffee date in the summer. However I do find it has almost no effect when sprayed on my skin, quickly dissipating. On my clothes, the performance leaves much to be desired. Perhaps it is my bottle or the batch I got. I can see it being useful in maybe layering with other fragrances of similar scent profiles. If you want to smell fresh at a minimum cost, go for it. The scent is great, my issue is the poor performance.

I smelled this on my suitemate in college and really liked it but ended up dating a woman whose ex had worn it frequently, so I didn't end up getting it back then. Fast forward to now (a zillion years later), and I finally purchased a bottle. It's as good as I remember. Absolutely beautiful scent. If it were released today, I'm sure it would be more popular than it icurrently is, but I kind of like that it's not on many people's radar now. I think of it as an orangey-citrus-bomb, but, truthfully, it's more complex than that. Really shines in hot weather; makes you feel light and vibrant... The name is quite fitting. Try it if you get the chance.

My dad wears this. Scent 9/10. - i love this stuff, its fresh and masculine to some extent. not much else to say - mass appealing and is very nice for them warm summer days but can definitely get away with it in early autumn and the whole of spring. Longevity 5/10. - pretty poor but its not pointless to use, i get 4-5 hours. some people say spray on clothes instead, in my opinion that isnt a bad idea and i usually do four on the neck and three on my chest/shirt. silliage 4/10 - not great maybe like 3 hours of arm length overall - 6/10 performance holds it back but for the price its worth it as you can overspray whilst not breaking the bank.

Fresh, clean, citrusy (which doesn't come out as bitter), everyday fragrance that would been a bang for the buck if it had a better longevity. Nonethless, this is can easily be a go-to perfume for a spring-summer time, very casual to wear for office, hangouts. This can be used as a layering combo with Mancera's Cedrat Boise. This was my first loved cologne and still is one of my favorites after all these years. I have many memories of this scent as a very young man as it was my first designer fragrance and also a cologne I’ve had multiple bottles of. It just hits home for me personally and screams clean! If you like fresh, clean and citrus then “Happy” is king! Some people sleep on this scent especially now days because it was produced so long ago (1999) and it is made by Clinique which aren’t known for men’s colognes. I must say as a Citrusy/Freshy it’s still #1 in my eyes. I wish it would get a new revamp.

I bought this perfume in 1999 when I moved to Amsterdam, because, simply said, it was a happy period of my life. I was happy, and this perfume was a sweeet daily reminder to cherish the new life that I got. Also, the bright orange color of the bottle is very Dutch (Oranje). Over the years I forgot about it, but this week I tried it again at a store and was surprised it stayed the same, and that it was never generic in any way. It has this fresh, slightly metallic orangey smell, sharp, bright, happy, but not silly. It was a nice trip down memory lane, to happy times, long gone.

Nose Note #62 Best word to describe it is: sensual. Because to smell it the other person has to get intimate with you. Also because the scent is rather alluring. Realistic mandarin orange. Something along the lines of Boss Orange. May not be so memorable, but it's unique enough among the galaxies of citrus fragrances. I wasn't there to fully process it, but I have a feeling that it was a breakthrough at the time in 1999. It's not strictly masculine which gives it some playfulness Performance is aftershave worthy. Terrible at that. Otherwise a great smell

Soapy oranges. I like the scent, especially as i got it for 25 bucks at Walmart (I've seen people sell this online for like 50-70, and at that price I wouldn't buy it). The longevity does not bother me because I use this at the gym, and once i'm done its pretty much gone and I can put on a different scent if i'm doing something else that day. I think this would also be good for casual wear, like at work or school during the summer as its more subtle and inoffensive , and you can spray it on your clothes to extend the longevity.

Holy moly...I had a female co-worker walk by and this wonderful smell got caught with the air current & hit my nose. It was the most attractive fresh & clean scent I've ever smelt - I frantically asked her if that smell was coming from her. She then pulled out a bottle of this (&yes it's the version for men) I sprayed myself all over with it and instantly fell in love. I'm going to buy a bottle of this for my boyfriend (& for myself!) then I'll update with a more in-depth review.

I won a bottle at a radio campaign as part of its launch 1999. The sillage is great; this was the first scent I wore that got lots of feedback from my female co-workers. I remember walking into a computer room, and my colleague told me she could smell me coming in. Unfortunately, all the citrus and floral notes on this otherwise joyous fragrance seem to show up at the same time. The longevity (or shortevity) is ridiculous. Clinique Happy is truly happy, though only for a while.

I believe I first smell this on my pops. Years later, during my college years, I often wore and oversprayed fhis. Received many compliments from female friends. They say I smell “friendly” and “kind” I still use it as gym fragrance because its not too loud. And again, received many compliments from female gymbros, they swore they have smell this scent before. Overall safe scent, but the performance is ass. Buy at discounter or tester and overspray. That us the key.

Timeless scent. Due to my addiction to cologne...my father had picked some out he used to wear as a kid for me and this was one of them. Man am i impressed by how well this has held its own. the citrus in this fragrance is so addicting and it has a perfect mix of greens and florals. This is a compliment getter for sure and definitely one to collect. Longevity cannot bring the significance of this fragrance down whatsoever

Got a decant of this, Such an uplifting and bright scent! It's in the name, Clinique "Happy". When i smelt this for the first time i was so excited. Bright, fresh and sweet. It's refreshing smelling this time to time because of the Orange note. This is a great fragrance to buy as a teenager or just someone starting out their fragrance journey, it's also inexpensive too but it would be great if it lasted longer.

It's a successful perfume that I haven't been able to give up on for years, and in fact, it's a scent that is blended much better than one would expect from the Clinique. The fact that it's not used by many people makes it especially valuable to me. It's both very energetic and very classy, a scent that you can use no matter how you feel, no matter what your mood is. One of my lifelong favorites.

Innocent, clean, bright and happy. This fragrance's name lives up to its expectations. It really conveys optimism. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. It's not for special occasions, but perfect for going to the gym, the office or running errands. I think it projects well, but it does require around 15 sprays. It's a really good fragrance, a bit underrated in my opinion.

I love this for a fresh, uplifting, citrus/aquatic scent. It is bright and exudes casual sophistication, like a beach holiday. The dry down is nice too. However, my biggest gripe is this awful performance. It's an ideal scent for a tropical climate, day time wear, but it dissipates very quickly and does not project at all. Scent 8/10, Performance 3/10.

This has such a pleasant smell and i would buy again and make it my signature perfume, if it lasts any more than 4 hours. Unfortunately it only lasts about 1-2 hours and the sillage and projection is non-existent. I have finished a whole bottle and nobody even noticed it. But, the smell is such a mood booster. If there was a way to make this exact scent, but with great longevity, this could be an All Time Great. I loved the actual scent, but if you sprayed it on just before leaving the house on a date (back then), if she didnt live very close to you, the scent would be gone by the time you picked the girl up.

I am a woman and I wear this. It is a stunning fresh fragrance that is just what the name suggests. Happy. There is not a time when this doesn't make me happy. Doesn't help that this is the fragrance of my husband and I just stole it from him, and I am not even sorry for it. Masterpiece.

A wonderful spring/summer scent that promotes a sense of calm and happiness. It's bright, fresh, and safe for any setting. This fragrance is incredibly subtle—perhaps too subtle for some—as the projection is minimal and the longevity is limited to about three hours maximum on my skin.

Very unique masculine scent There’s a creaminess, and a very distinct lack of that strong spice that you get with nearly majority of men’s scents. It’s quiet and alluring. To me it’s a creamy citrus with a sporty masculine edge. Think lemonade with ice cream.

this scent truly makes me feel happy, like good summer vibes, so radiant, soapy, sweet and clean. you cant go wrong with this stuff. reminds me of the time someone very special to me bought me this at the maltese international airport duty free.

I think this is a forgotten gem. It's fresh and easy to wear. Literally can't criticise it. It's a bitter candy orange and woody scent and just an easy grab. It's dirt cheap and you could wear it day time, office, school. No probs.

It’s literally one of the best designer fragrances ever made. If Louis Vuitton was to make this and amped up the longevity of it, online hype beasts would be all over it. For ever a Spring and summer staple for me!

Opening with a citrus fougère but dries down smelling 80% like LV Afternoon Swim but with a different orange, The scent quality is a little bit synthetic, but for the price, I can't complain.

Fantastic bright, green, clean, citrusy fragrance. Longevity isn’t great but for the price a few extra sprays helps! I don’t get the woodiness people describe just green and citrus.

Wife picked this up for $20 at the Burlington and I think it was a great pickup! Lovely citrus notes, bright and vibrant. She likes it and so do I. Glad I have cheap tastes.

To me this smells like versace eau fraiche but cleaner and lighter definitely blind buy safe if you’re on the fence with this one you can’t go wrong for the price
