20 Iconic Masculine

So I thought I had left a review of this but apparently not! Anyway I live in New Zealand l, so it is spring now. I got my bottle in 2021 at a good price for second hand luckily. Anyway, for the last couple of years I've always been looking for a Citrus and dark fragrance for example Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 or 2017, both of which I love. I wore this yesterday for the first time in half a year or so, two sprays behind each war before walking my dog. . . And BAM!! It took me right back to when I finally fell in love with this fragrance, initially when I tried this I seriously thought who the hell wants to smell like this for so much!! But yesterday the magic was there, bright sparkling Citrus and Yuzu is unique in the fragrance world (unless you love Issey Miyake) so it is a great Citrus that lasts a long time and then after 20min the Smokey vetiver comes out from lurking and the whafts I get are just superb. Unfortunately if I wear this say two days in a room or even a couple time a week Ido not get that 6hr magic or Citrus dancing around Smokey vetiver, so during the course of this spring & summer I will only wear it sparingly. This is that dark Citrus i love but the price well is it worth it hmm. That's a hard one, for me I will highly likely buy another bottle when my runs out but I won't be paying retail that's for sure. This thing performs well. Smells great if you don't mind yuzu and creates an allure to it. My now ex wife did really like this fragrance too, so there's that. Overall 9.5/10, losing a point because of the price. Other than that if I could get this in a 100ml and for cheaper it would be one of my daily spring and summer signatures.

If only the performance matched how good the scent is. Iconic Masculine is a fantastic bright citrus-vetiver fragrance. The mandarin orange and yuzu have a fizzy feel to them in the opening and they're rounded out by a soft herbalness from rosemary and petitgrain. My sister jokingly said I smelled like grapefruit soda and I kind of agree, but it's a refined and airy scent, not artificial and sugary like a soda would smell. On the dry down the vetiver and cedar stand out a bit more, but the other notes are still somewhat present. It's a simple and linear scent, so there isn't really much to be said about it. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but it's just such a well done and refreshing scent I can't help but love it, although it's obviously quite overpriced for what it is. Performance is where this is lacking unfortunately. Where all other Clive Christians I've worn can last for 8 hours and project moderately for around 2 hours, Iconic Masculine only lasted about 6 hours on skin and projected for only 1 hour. To be fair it was quite hot today but it still didn't perform up to par with Timeless and Contemporary, which I tried last week and it was also pretty hot at the time of testing. It might perform better if you overspray it a bit, I'll have to try that out later.

There are brands that elicit fake or purely misleading reviews to sink the brand... reviews carried out by trolls and people who have never smelled the fragrance, let alone seen the bottle in person. One of these brands is Clive Christian, because it's too expensive for the common mortals, so the concept "I can't afford it, so you shouldn't have it either" applies, in short, the usual human envy towards the top of the class. Leaving aside those who love stenches, not perfumes, stenches... This perfume is a masterpiece, worth trying, in summary, it's a very earthy vetiver with a fantastic opening. In some aspects, it reminded me of Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire, but unlike the aforementioned, Clive lasts over 12 hours on my skin. For me, it's a best buy if you can afford it; otherwise, avoid fake reviews or hearsay. You can't say a Lamborghini is rubbish if you've never driven it or can't afford it. Down with political correctness everywhere, including in perfumery.

Clive Christian's 20 Iconic Masculine is a vivacious, uplifting masculine citrus aromatic fragrance. Primary notes are yuzu and vetiver with slight green touches. The scent has a directness which I quite enjoy. No musk or resins. No florals or synthetic marine notes. Just a straightforward bright, sharp citrus and vetiver. The sparkling citrus in this blend smells fantastic and lasts well past the opening. That being said, 20 Iconic Masculine is not groundbreaking (you'll swear you've smelled this before, perhaps in a Roja bottle), longevity is pitiful (2-3 hours tops on me before becoming a skin scent), and the price is downright laughable. For 50ml I'd pay $120 tops. But I can't argue with it smelling good. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd douse myself in this stuff multiple times a day. Definitely get a decant unless you just hit the lottery or have a trust fund. Scent 10/10 Longevity 3/10 Sillage 5/10 Price 1/10

My first impression was not good on this one. I then wore it out in public for the full experience and it changed my mind completely. I really think people need to review frags only after they have worn them outside of their homes. At first I thought this was just a yuzu bomb. Nothing else. Nothing intriguing. But then I wore actually wore it and holy smokes it blew my mind! It starts off being extremely citric with yuzu at the forefront. Then comes the woods and petitgrain to make this a simple masterpiece. The vetiver poking through is incredible. Its simple, fresh, juicy, woodsy and masculine. So glad I have this a chance. I will also say I got whiffs of this every few minutes for 4 hours....it was amazing. I love this stuff and am now a huge fan of Clive Christian.

One of the best citrus fragrances.The best longevity and projection in any fresh fragrance I’ve ever had.Juicy citrus and sparkling yuzu splashed across blades of green grass and torn cedar bark. Strong green-citric opening,high quality ingredients.The citrus notes here are realistic. This perfume ruined every other citrus marketed fragrances out there. is truly in a class of its own,best Yuzu ever with a lot of Rosemary and Orange 20 Iconic Masculin Clive Christian had convinced me to spend 2x£380 but it was worth every penny. Second impression: this is a deep, smoky, spicy vetiver fragrance. It's drydown is mostly about the vetiver, spices (clove) and a bit of cedar on the drydown. Extremely potent, and it's expensive, but it also smells really expensive. Definitely masculine. Smells like something a CEO or an industry tycoon would wear. I really love this but I don't love the price. However, you don't need to spray more than 2-3 times so it's not a terrible value proposition. Scent 9/10 Performance 9/10

I genuinely love this scent it does start fresh it never goes down to very woodsy I can't explain what it is that I'm smelling might be the sage, rosemary or petigrane, but it smells different to everything I have and I'm frankly amazed at the longevity due to the type of notes it has right now I'm sitting at over 10 hours and though it's a skin scent it's not faint at all I would say it radiates about half a foot off of it.

Is impressive when push to the limits for perfection. I think that this is not just a perfume, is a state of the art creation. Simple and complex at the same time, create a distance from every other fresh perfume I ever smell. From the high quality ingredients, the heavenly smell, to the bottle...a masterpiece.

One of my favorite citrus-vetivers ever period !! Juicy yuzu-mandarin, bright bergamot, bitter petitgrain, mediterranean & cooling rosemary, earthy-woody vetiver & cedar, balsamic incense... Super refreshing, aromatic & natural smelling with great performance, but the price... Way too high. Got it anyways lol

Yes, super high price tag but that aside, focusing purely on the fragrance- it is so delightfully enjoyable. So sharp and fresh and clean..the clove in this is so smooth. There's an aftershave that my dad used to use that smelled quite similarly astringent so this has sentimental brownie points as well. Oh how perfumes are subjective! Strong love for me, and I see this working equally well for men and women, very unisex.

I was gifted this fragrance by a long time client of mine and honestly, as nice as the fragrance is I would buy it. Heavy on the Yuzu and has a interesting herbal vibe too. Lasted fairly long but became a skin scent fairly quickly

Modern, masculine and very sharp version of 4711 Original Eau de Cologne.

The votes here tell you everything. Nice but overpriced for the performance. Nothing extraordinary. Simplified it’s a nice vetiver with amped up pepper and cedar with a touch rosemary. All other notes are complimentary and assist in buoying it out and making it airy. Similar would be PDM Byerly or Carner Barcelona Drakon which are 5-10 times more potent - this however maybe a point of difference in that this is much softer and more appropriate for some. But not at the price. However almost identical in every respect is Guerlain Vetiver Extreme EDT and it is a fraction of the price...

This is not the good kind of green. Way too herbal and salad-y and not that fresh. I prefer 1872 way, way, waaaay more...

I'm thankful I don't particularly enjoy this. It's a hypermasculine citrus and vetiver fragrance with a harsh, almost abrasive opening. As others have noted, there's zero sweetness here-just sharp, dry intensity. I also have no idea where people get the Elysium Parfum Cologne comparison... that fragrance is far better (and cheaper). To me, this smells like sniffing straight-up Emergen-C powder. The only real positives? The longevity and sillage are outstanding.

Just a quick impression, I’m seeing a lot of people talking about this and referring to it as a citrus fragrance, I think that can be very deceiving as although there is a bit of citrus in the opening, this is primarily a spicy Vetiver fragrance imo, it wasn’t even close to what I was expecting, I’ve been through a lot of this house and decided to blind buy a bottle of this as I got it for a decent price and decants are stupid expensive, citrus is def not the first thing that comes to mind upon wearing it and unfortunately it’s a miss for me although it is relatively unique and certainly excellent quality as with all Clive’s

Ok let's be fair and realistic now. I have a question. I read here in the comments that this is a really good / unique citrus here. To compare it (with the quality / uniqueness) of the citrus variants and performance of Clive Christian 20 Iconic Masculin and Xerjoff Nio? Please only honest members. Small digresion ...In my opinion, Nio is truly unique when it comes to citrus. As we have no perfume alternative to HDP This is Not The Blue Bottle 1/1 so I don't think Nio has a lot of credible alternatives..so...Nio vs This ..hmm

Another Vetiver/Cirtus blend Masculine fragrance in the dry, cold and “icy” spectrum, just like Ormand Jayne’s 2025 launch “Vetiveria”. Personally, I’d advocate for Ormand Jayne’s over this one, as Vetiveria’s projection and longevity is literally five times that of Iconic. That said, there are nuances between the two; Iconic dries down to be a bit more juicy, peppery, and undoubtedly Mandarin-forward, whereas Vetiveria is much more dry and Vetiver-forward.

I'm not sure if I received the wrong sample or what, but why anyone is voting for this to be similar with Lalique's Encre Noire is misguided. I think this is a relatively off-putting citrus scent that has zero chance of being worth the price Clive Christian is asking for. Side note: I'm starting to believe Clive Christian is a rip off house.

Smelled this on a tester card tonight. I can see why they left this as a limited release. Smelled quite generic. I had been dreaming of smelling this for months, and it disappointed me when I finally did. I’m a big Clive Christian fan, but they blew it here. Could’ve been a $60 fragrance anywhere, and I wouldn’t have known any better.

GREAT scent. Terrible, TERRIBLE performance. I get a couple of hours of a skin scent after using nearly 1.5 mls. The 50ml bottles are going for how much?!? Legitimately the best, fresh-smelling masculine I've ever smelled. Makes Creed GIT and Original Vetiver smell like they're for poors, which I am.

This fragrance came back in on the Clive Christian website at the end of 2023 but then was discontinued again. Some stores like Jomashop have it for around 280 dollars which is better then 445 dollars but still expensive. I hope the ones on Jomashop are legit. I ordered two from their website.

PM me for full bottle ... not my thing. Blind buy ... doh! Too much smoky vetiver after opening for my liking. Very smooth, quality blend of excellent ingredients per CC norm. Unmistakably expensive freshy smell. I just don't like vetiver dominant frags (petitgrain isn't my fave either).

I've sampled this one a few times and for some reason, I always get celery from it. Maybe its the vetiver + rosemary. Crazy. Even the SA said he also thought it was really odd and recommended the feminine version over this, which isn't all that feminine.

One bad ass fragrance! Best of the best, no need to give a fragrance breakdown. Get your nose on it and you’ll understand what I’m writing! Thank me later. Oh and by the way, 15 hours plus staying power even at skin scent.

Top of the line perfume mastery! Whoever finds this unappealing you don’t know how to appreciate a classy fragrance. I guess if it doesn’t smell like cookies, and cream it’s considered bad. Mature men only 40+

Ask me for my favorite Citrus of all time that I just would like to wear 100s of times, this is it! If you find it, get it, don't sit on the fence! The most intense citrus I ever smelled! Very Very addictive!!

Just bought this gem today awesome fresh fragrance that Juzu so good this one is in my top 5 fresh niche fragrances.
