Cosmos Flower

It just came in the mail, and I am so delighted I had to share the story behind it. Was in an airport a few months ago with a severely delayed flight. Went into the duty free shop and they had an unusually large selection of perfumes at all price points. I asked the sales clerk (being male) what his favorite was for a woman, and asked his opinion on a few. He excitedly ran to a nondescript bottom drawer and pulled this out. Said he loves it but nobody ever asks for it and they dont have it on display...just other Clive Christians that get asked for more, and which he likes less. I smelled it and agreed with him that it did indeed smell fabulous...and I had wondered what it smelled like but hadnt found anybody online who sells samples of it. He made me stand so the security camera didnt see and then spritzed some on my wrists for me. LOL. I had to admit, it smelled fabulous on me too...changed for the better on my skin. Got home and kept hemming and hawing about it because of the price point and because there are so many other (more affordable) perfumes on my wishlist. Then, just last week, I found a really good deal on a secondhand bottle, and it just came in the mail moments ago. Holy heck. It is definitely as good as I remembered it. Better, even. I can see why its his favorite. And mine too now... The basenotes combine with the rum to be a very large presence non-vanilla vanilla, if that makes any sense, and the hints of fruit and flower keep it just exactly the right amount of light and fresh to keep it from being cloying. It is definitely strong, but not heavy or overpowering. It is noticeable, but still gently. The bit of leather adds just the right amount of oomph to keep it from being demure, polite, or flat. Slight hint of powder in the initial spritz (surprised I dont see iris or violet, or some such in the notes above), but that dissipates pretty quickly leaving only a gently caressing softness. I think this is what Black Orchid tried to do and failed at miserably (IMHO). The description may sound rather generic and blah and common , but this fragrance is anything but. The beauty is in its flawless execution, not in an attention-needy use of whacky ingredients. (Dont get me wrong...I love Pierre Guillaume and Bertrand Duchafour as much as the next lass.) I apply this, stand back, and feel beautiful, intelligent, confident. This is perfume just. plain. done. right. P.S. Does this actually have cosmos flower in it, or is that just a marketing gimmick? (Not that I care...its still worth the price IMHO...just curious.)

many people think CC is to expensive but I have had rather regularly compliments and questions (which it is) about my other fragrances, but never like two days ago with CC NOBLE VII cosmos flower. Had put it on at 5,30pm, had a seminary at 7,30 till 10,30pm, after that I was hungry a lady friend and me went to a restaurant, had to pas many tables before being on ours, we were sitting there 30 minutes and a woman who was with a group of people (who we had passed by going to our table, our table was quit a bit further) came to me excused herself and asked who of us two was wearing that wonderful fragrance, she sniffed at my friend (that was Narciso Rodiriguez, the woman said no that I know it’s hers pointing at me and started to sniff she was really so enthusiastic (I always carry a decant with that I prepare myself ) so I sprayed on her pols and front arm, she loved it so much and was really happy to go and let smell it to the group of people she was with, after 30 minutes she came back, and said it was already so wonderful but now it is really heaven, It was all in an academic environment, so even international academics love it a lot, her whole group adored it. So Is CC worth its price..’yes for me it is, this for me is as good as C which i also own and loved the most of CC and even hamster in case they might reformulate it, i like this as much and i ordered yesterday already a second bottle in case...

So, if you're lucky, you'll meet the Flower of Love once a year. Clive Christian supported it with jasmine, osmanthus and ylang-ylang, topped it with rum, mandarine and the apple of Eden, surrounded it by cocoa infused caramelised amber and warming benjoin - and it's breaking my heart. It's seductive, gentle, inviting and smooth. It's got no attitudes and knows not how to play games because it doesn't need to. It's irresistible yet does not ask. It's warm, silky and reassuringly mature, but invites you to so much more. Every note is present and knows its place very much like an orchestra in harmony. It's completely out of this world but very much tangible to an extent one can taste it. It's the best and sexiest thing I smelt all year. In all honesty it was a toss of a coin between Cosmos Flower and Serge's Veilleur de Nuit; on my skin, right here right now, it's not even a contest. It's to die for.

We always expect the best from the most expensive. And so many times become disappointed. For example “Cosmos Flower” - delicious, gourmand fragrance. Modern, harmonic, ideally blended, balanced with sweet and sour, flowers and fruits. But as for the price - nothing special, we would say. “Psyhodelic Love”, “Champaca Absolute” have the same vibes and quality but much more cheaper. The smell, the notes and even idea of the fragrance can be similar, but the ingredients - never. Clive Christian is not about unique, never plagiarized scents, it’s all about expensive oils, woods and extracts. Same like Roja Dove. Same like Amouage. Frederic Malle. MFK. You can always find “ the same but cheaper” but you will never get the uniqueness of materials there. I’m sure, CC fragrances are not for everyday. Because of natural ingredients it is neither long lasting, nor projecting enough. Expensive, for daily usage not justifying the price. But for the the special moment, when you want to feel what a real perfumery is, what you really deserve, you should go for it. I looooove this perfume. And even though I usually go for white flowers, Cosmos flower made me fall in love! I tested it two years ago and had it on my wish list but was not sure for paying so much money. So when I got gift cards to a perfume store for Christmas, Cosmos flower was my choice! ❤️ It’s absolutely feminine and sensual, seductive and sophisticated. Sweet scent of rum, plums, caramel, and I actually can smell Belgian chocolate truffles. It’s quite strong and leaves a beautiful trail. People say they know I’m at work before they get to my office 😂 Stays on my skin all day long ❤️ I receive compliments for it every time I wear it. Sometimes I do layer with a bit of Hidden Leather of the Emirates Pride to add some bitten note of leather to it. Beautiful scent ❤️

Quick update...looked up cosmos flower...it is a flower Ive only ever seen growing as a weed in meadows, but I guess some people grow it in gardens. Not all varieties have a fragrance, but those that do are quite pleasant. Im assuming it is difficult to extract the scent or it would have been used in perfume a long time ago, given it is basically free to grow. Depending which review you read, this perfume either includes the scent or replicates it. If used, The "chocolate" variety was almost certainly used here. But ladies...cosmos flower is toxic to humans (and deer) so just to be safe...dont lick your arm, or feed your $500 fragrance to bambi. LOL.

A unique and beautiful perfume! The opening isn't my favorite part, but after about 30 minutes it starts to evolve amazingly! A ripe plum with hints of ylang and light osmanthus begin to come out... a perfect match! Everything here is masterfully balanced, and it's a marvel. (Cosmos Flower) blooms twice a year and is considered the flower of love. Those who choose this flower donate it by claiming to love the other person "like no other". I love this perfume! Sillage: 8./10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Scent: 9./10 Overall: 9./10

I own and where most of Clive Christians fragrances. Although, I am a male this fragrance was a gift. I wore the fragrance blended with Clive Christian mens Rock Rose fragrance. It was a great combination and received a lot of attention. Cosmo Flowers is a little sweet for men, so I ended up giving the bottle to one of my closest friends and she loves it. I highly recommend this fragrance to any woman that wants to smell pleasant and seductive.

Of all the Clive Christian scents, the most beautiful is Cosmos Flower. The top notes are lemon, but that is short lived. The base notes that get a 10+ for longetivity is cocoa, vanilla and tonka bean. You really need to be a lover of dark, sensual gourmands to "get" this one. If you are looking for a lovely scent that is not as expensive, but smells VERY similar, you might like YSL's Black Opium.

This is my fourth Clive Christian, and i love it, have a bottle of it and have worn it now 3 times, longevity is great on me, sillage moderate to heavy, although C is my favorite, followed by Cosmos flower, third is 1 and last for me is 1872 which is according my opinion really mainstream...

Wow! This is one intense boozy, fruity fragrance with a gourmand twist care of the cocoa. Juicy sweetness from the orange prevents this becoming too heavy and sweet. It is pretty delectable but I'm still not convinced by the hefty price tag. I get good sillage and longevity.

You can smell all the notes;sweet flowery, lite powdery, cacao and fruity at the same time. This is very exquisite perfume which really stands out from the rest. I will add this to my collection. All year round day, because of the cacao on my skin tone.

Non offensive, mass appeal fragrance which everyone loves it ,good projection and longevity also i would say versatile enough to wear on every occasion blind buy gone right 💙💙9.5/10

Elegant everyday wear, its not floral at all i don't know why its called Cosmos flower its perfectly unisex

Started off lil weird but throughout time its one of the best smelling fragrance out!

Hm. I kinda "like" most of the Clive Christian perfumes. but lets look at something.... The price is 500 USD... fine - so what do you offer for it? Smell:8/10... Its NICE, you cant go wrong with CCH.. BUT I ask a few people- man, women what they think- and no WOW effect. All of them said "its nice, pleasing scent..." to a 500usd perfume. (if the perfume could cry... it would..) Uniqueness 7/10... its not that unique smell as you see comments bellow Lenght: 6/10 (3-4hrs max) .... people next to you MIGHT notice you, but for sure not people around you, if you know what i mean. Price x Quality: Quality is there for sure. But it is not worth that 500USD- that you pay for brand and the bottle.

not bad. its sweet, powdery &warm at first. then once it sets in you get total cacao(chocolate) powder. once it sets in it smells like an expensive 3 musketeers candy bar to me. reminds me of a chocolate scrub i bought from the body shop. theres hints of citrus too. smells too mature for me, im in my 20’s.

i like it but there is some better perfume in this range

I find Cosmos Flower to be pretty, elegant, non offensive, classy fragrance. In a category of Dia amouage. Notice, i didn't say, it is "like" or "similar". I said in the category. Classic, you can wear it daily and not get tired of it. Medium siliage and long lasting. Very likable.

This slightly reminds me of Dior poison , it has the vibe maybe its the plum. I see the opium resemblance as well. This smells old to me. A british manor in the country side, deserts and tea and fireplace somewhere near but cold. and fancy dressed old people.

This doesn’t smell unique or luxury, it’s a common smell not worth the money. Opening smells like Lucrethia V Canto and dry down is Jimmy Choo.

This is a boozy chocolate fragrance. It reminds me of another fragrance, cant quite put my fingers on it.

I don't know what to say here. I tested it yesterday, on the skin and on the blotter, but I am not impressed. Not even amazed, really. With almost 500 fumes in our collection, it's getting harder to be wowed by something new, and Cosmos Flower failed, miserably. My husband gave me few options for Mother's Day. Kilian Love DBS, SL De Profundis, or Cosmos Flower. By reading reviews alone, i made Cosmos Flower my first choice. I expected my socks to be blown off, judging by what I read and the price alone. Luckily, instead of letting hubby ordering blind online, we decided to go to Neiman Marcus to test it, and I am happy we did. What I got on skin is the initial alcohol blast, then fermented fruit, something reminiscent of Fendi L'aquarosa elixir, and an hour later it turned into a screechy floral mess. I consider myself lucky, so far, aside from Arpege, I never encountered a fragrance that turned bad or sour on me, but Cosmos Flower sure hates me. And I hate it back, with gusto. My blotter smells sweeter, although faint, less than 24 hours later. What I can smell on the paper is similar to most basic perfumes being crafted for the current market, and it smells too basic for $550. In fact, it's too basic for Fragrancenet price of $375 What blew my socks off though was Coromandel even if i swore i am never buying Chanel again. Kilian Love Don't Be Shy was way too amazing for me to pass on, so that is the one i chose for my Mother's Day gift. Glad I tested Cosmos Flower finally, but at this price range, it's nothing to write home about. I can't recommend it to anyone over 25, and at this price point, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

So, have been wearing No. 1 (both men and women), X (men and women), Magnolia and Cosmos flower lately. Its indulging in CC week. I like No. 1 for men the best, X for women second (Gucci’s Rush could die for this peach note), and then Magnolia. Cosmos flower on the other hand made it very difficult to pass the day. I actually disliked it. And don’t ask me to describe it, it has so many ingredients but the bottomline is, that apple-fruity peppery-ylang entity is simply not palatable. It’s annoying at best, an absolute nonwear at worst. I’ve given the bottle away and the left over sample I am debating what to do (that should tell you of my dislike), probably would spray around the garbage can. I can’t stand that sugary, sweet, fruity floral leech, there is no running from it. It’s there after 18 hours. Why can’t good smells be just as tenacious? I know, it’s all in the chemical structure... I know but let me gripe, please.

The opening is extremely common and banal :( Aside from the strong sugary notes I get first, there’s an indolic ylang-ylang and a soft animalic undertone. When I wait it out, the fragrance pulls itself together a bit; that’s when I can pick up the boozy nuances, cocoa, and the warmth of benzoin. Rather than a floral scent, I’d describe this as a boozy-fruity-amber fragrance. It’s rich in spices and packed with warm, sweet elements. I looked up what the “cosmos flower” note is supposed to be: an imaginary accord meant to smell like a blend of vanilla and hot chocolate. So in that sense, the fragrance does match its name. I’ve worn this perfume a few times after having purchased a sample. My initial impression was one of amazement. In the box, this perfume smelled amazing. However, after spritzing it on my skin, I quickly realised the scent was cloyingly overpowering. This scent is incredibly sweet and has very strong fruity and alcoholic notes. I can be sensitive to some strong scents and this one gave me a headache over the course of a few hours. On the positive side, if you like a sweet fruity perfume that has a big sillage and a great longevity then this may be for you.

I"m actually upset that Cosmos flower is such a stinker. I love chypres with pink pepper, plum and benzoin. This should not be turning into a rank gym scent on me. I've come back to this off and on over 2 months and it never developed into something I would want to spend time with. If I had to guess it is the caramel and cacao - these just don't belong in this composition.

This started out beautifully, but on my skin it unfortunately went wrong very fast. Have tried scrubbing it off, but the the unfortunate odor of old jock straps and crotch sweat still lingers... How I envy the rest of you.

Dose not have a niche smell or quality to match the pricepoint. Instantly a skinscent. Smells like a cheaper designer scent to me, so no thank you!

Bought a 2 ml sample and from the bottle is smelled very intriguing. Once I sprayed it on me it literally smells like sheep poop that’s been macerating in a barn topped off with hay and florals. Definitely niche. Would I wear it? No. Is it interesting? Yes. Do I like it? Definitely No. Can I see people appreciating the craftsmanship of this perfume? Yes.

Today I introduced Cosmos Flower to my nose. As for my nose, it still takes a bit time to differenciate and understand all the notes in perfumes I can only state the first impressions: -ı adored the rum note in the beginning-which is quite different from the very popular “rum notes” of recent perfumes, this is not Angel’s Share kind of rum. - - main terrain of Jimmy Choo I love Choo, (white flowers part may be) -yes hint of YSL Black Opium, -yes chocolate -yes a bit nail polish, lipstick sense and powdery feeling -plum note (which is usualky not my favorite note) is very apperent in the beginnig but it fades a bit later. I think plum is the reason of the mature vibe here.. Dior Poison) -yes it’s very complex and very well blended in my opinion. -yet it’s not mainstream and will suit to “money” Can update my review in time.

I love it. I have some dupes from this brand no1 imperial and l for women and this one because I am passionate about scents perfumes not brands plus I am not rich. Is so amazing easy to wear mountain flower. The cosmos flower is done beautifully, mixes my dna perfectly making it irezistible. Ps a friend of mine told me this one is so incredible smells like fresh titi.s . Ha ha 😂 No but really it managed to get a sexy almost hormonal feminine liquor. Really a masterpiece do not believe when they say is boring. If the dupe dropped my jaw for sure the original does much more. The magic is when it mixes with my skin chemistry. Is divine.

This is a coddled and snooty fragrance, a melange of boozy old money nuances without being dated. Sweet bright amber paired with jasmine but not in a floral way, only the índole part of the flower that gives an elegant and clean animalic touch that comes and goes during wear time. Unisex and long lasting. The vibe: Either Lenny Kravitz’s “Villa Roxie” home with furniture made of real ivory and zebra hide or Bianca Jagger on her bed, talking on the phone, overindulged in everything she desires.

Utmost realest floral fruits degree. Detect fresh apple amidst overall ample sweetness. Quality very slight rum. Start to consider sweet parfums after this, tailored perfectly, ballanced sweetness, robust, not a gourmand, no Caramel, not intense or loud, keeps a smooth clear airy main character going as proceeding to the base and amazing Noble collection dry down. Got the special, for sure will be up there with the main Clives, it's a feminine but like the 1872 and the Iconic easily a unisex.

The more I sample Clive's fragrances the more I realize how commercial and over exaggerated this house is. Cosmos flower is orange violets with slight jasmine, it's velvety and a bit fruit sweet. A fragrance you can buy from any supermarket, personally I wouldn't buy it if it were 20$ for 200ml, ironically it's price tag says 540$+ which is the surprise of the century :)

I've recently received a sample and must say that I am not impressed. This is a fruitchouly heavy on indoles. I actually like indolic and patchouli scents, but am not a fan of gourmandy fruitchoulis, to which this perfume develops. Rock rose was a lot better on me. My favourite Clive Christian is C for women, which up to now has not been surpassed, in my opinion.

IMHO: it's a replica of Jimmy Choo Jimmy Choo first Choo's fragrance created by Olivier Polge in 2011. Same chypre fruity with mandarin, pink pepper. Jimmy Choo has toffee CC has caramel. But the outcome is the same.

First spray is straight up nail polish remover, as it dries down it starts smelling a bit better. But once its fully dried down its just a barely detectable light citrus floral For the price? Ridiculous.

Tried this at Harrods and fell in love it. Not a huge fan of CC as the price isn't justified for most of their scents but the releases this year impressed me and this one outshines them all!

I don't know why, but it smells like Gabrielle of Chanel to me... and with Black Opium of YSL. Somewhat reminds me of Jimmy Choo Original too...

Pleasant, addictive, bubble-gum. Has a familiar sweetness, just like every other Clive fragrance I've tried so far. Lasts long.

Too Cloying.. almost headache inducing. But.. I do like the powdery "makeup" 👄🌸🪻 smell of Cosmos Flower. 7/10

Delicious Gourmand, sweet luxury. I love this and recommend this! Fruit and chocolate, can't go wrong!
