My first experience wearing Clive Christian Inox was also the first compliment I received while wearing it. My boyfriend and I were sitting by the waterfront having lunch, sunlight dappling across the docked boats when the waitress stopped and said, “Oh my goodness, I love your fragrance. You smell so... clean.” And honestly, that’s exactly it. Your skin really soaks this one in. It feels like air, but not damp, fresh air. More like post-rain, city air - molecular and slightly charged. The bergamot comes through first, bright but soft, followed by a dark-fruit hum from the cassis that keeps it from feeling sterile. Then there’s saffron, but not in the usual leathery way. Here it feels pale and mineral, like sunlight warming metal. Already, I knew this wasn’t going to be the typical oud journey. There’s an ozonic lift that feels like altitude, space and sheer expanse. Lily of the valley wafts in but barely floral and the Gurjun gives a smooth resinous warmth underneath, but definitely not sweet. Then... the oud arrives quietly. Not dark. Not smoky. Just beautifully restrained. It’s followed by supple, subtle leather, more texture than statement, with sandalwood cushioning everything in soft, creamy woods. What I loved most is how wearable it is. It sits close, but it commands attention in a quiet way. It’s the kind of fragrance people lean in for. By early evening, it had melted into my skin completely... revealing warm woods, soft leather, and this lingering sense of clarity. I kept catching gentle echoes of it on my hair, my wrist, my boyfriends neck and the air that surrounded us.

Too Woody, Too Metallic. The Opening feels ok, but when it dries down it just feels like a metallic-floral-wood mess. For the price of 500€ it could be more interesting, but i don't dislike it.

TL; DR - In line with the usual Clive Christian experience, so not a big surprise. By testing on skin, I could smell a citrus, ceedar and sandalwood introduction that was akin to a poolside chlorine accord. This will last around 20-30 minutes. As the Rasquinator concoction starts to dry down, it drifts into a generic mildly saffrony creamy sandalwood base, with a timid violet accent (i.e. ozonic notes). This "delight" comes with a £490 price tag per 100 ml attached. The bottle is cool, I'll give them that. Overall, nothing outstanding nor groundbreaking. I'd say that Inox is for collectors (with capital) and/or Clive Christian's aficionados. Most importantly, a sales assistant clearly said that for now this is a store exclusive to celebrate the opening of the new Bond Street store in London... but it will be available worldwide "soon". Don't fret.

The bottle a finger print magnet but matches the name inox meaning stainless steel. The fragrance must have a metallic vibe and I can’t wait to try!
