L Red Tea Vetiver

Aloha all, This is Heavenly; however, it does have its drawbacks. As a relative aside and an awareness that this probably skews my review: I, very much so, enjoy Rooibios tea. I buy a big loose bag, and cold steep two liters of it in my fridge for a day. I pour out the gorgeous brown/red tea, into a big glass gallon jug, but then immediately refill it, and steep the used tea leaves for a second steeping. After this second run, I dump the tea leaves into my garden bed. I do this over and over. Skipping some days. But, here’s the real magic: I add four drops of Monk fruit liquid (not the powder, because there are no additives) to each glass full of cold-steeped Rooibios tea... It’s just heavenly; almost exactly like this scent and that’s my entire point. It’s softly heaven. For context: I bought a 2ml as a tester, then ordered another 5ml.. I was initially on the fence with the 2ml.. But, after draining the 5ml. down, I can share that this is a keeper. It’s a top ten scent for me; however, I find it might probably work best as a layered scent... Some people may not want an expensive bottle as such, and then have to layer it... I might agree; yet, it’s magical! Alone it’s gorgeous and since I’m sensitive, I get the Rooibos wafts... and, they are wonderful, but others might feel very differently. So, alone, this is just a magical and clean scent. It doesn’t really go anywhere and has minimal silliage, but maybe that’s part of its magic... I feel two things about it, concerning layering: First, my nose tells me that Saffron is the only missing ingredient. If I were the head perfumer and gatekeeper of this release, I might have highly and politely suggested that Saffron needed to be added to it as a mid-note! So, layer it with Acqua Di Parma’s Saffron (zaffareno) or any other saffron loved scent and poof! Second, layer it with a rare woody, Clive’s C woody with oudh, or any other soft/woody oriental/woody you have and you will be sure to have a quietly unique signature scent. Moreover, wear it alone for a low-mild silliage scent that gets you to a relaxed place. Confidently; non-boastfully, and I am sure that those around you will get hints and whiffs of you and will be left to be like.... Man that smell is amazing; is it him? What is it... well, what it isn’t is distracting or offensive, at all. But, it will cost you a lot and you will need at least 6-8 sprays and a re-spritz, several hours later. Or, use it as a lovely-layered profile. You decide. But, my vote is a yes! I have a big bottle en-route. For context of what my nose prefers; my favorite houses are: Clive Christian Xerjoff Acqua Di Parma And, Acqua Di Gio for the gym or when you want to go a little cheaper, yet still smell pretty good, but let me share: after wearing the first three houses and then going to ADG ... You can immediately tell the drop in quality! * I am starting to really appreciate Jo Malone; however, I am learning that the secret to this house is the layering of their scents. I think this might be a 2026 slow and steady approach for me. Not sure yet. But, don’t shy away from this scent. Snag a 5 or 9 ml. and have fun. Maybe one more to help you best decide, but don’t do the 2ml. with this scent.... It doesn’t allow your nose enough time to adjust. Mahalo for your time and A Hui Hou.

I judged this one by the cap and tester card in store prematurely--thinking it wasn't anything special. I was SO wrong. A good price convinced me to get a bottle, and I am blown away. This is everything that I wished Louis Vuitton Imagination was. It is the most relaxing and luxurious tea scent and relatively quite unique. It easily could be someone's signature scent--any occasion, weather (except maybe scorching hot outdoors), outfit, or season. It's unisex, leaning masculine. Performance is okay, not insane. Lasts about 4-5 hours before becoming a skin scent or at least a small personal scent bubble. I'll put it on in the morning before work, and throughout the day get the most incredible wafts. The sillage and projection is the only thing slightly bad about it, but I think it makes it a little more wearable as a daily scent to the office. If I had to say it's similar to something, maybe By Kilian's Bamboo Harmony, and that's selling it short. The vetiver is very similar to Creed's Original Vetiver, another one of my favorites. I have collected several Clive Christian fragrances over the years, and this is number 2 to me after Jump Up and Kiss Me Hedonistic. Highly recommend this one!

The fragrance is a fresh, warm, and sophisticated tea perfume with a woody-musk undertone. Overall, L Red Tea Vetiver by Clive Christian comes across as a refined tea-woody fragrance with a balance of freshness, spiciness, and a soft musky trail. It is suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions when you want something unique yet not overwhelming.

Despite the fact it is not the most popular Clive Christian. I personally find it to be my favourite. The tea note is so pleasant and comforting. I can wear this all day everyday. Edit: the scent does seem to be easily dwarfed by other stronger sweet scents and nose will go blind. Just be mindful of this when testing - you may miss the beautiful fruity tea and go straight to the grassy vetiver. What’s beautiful is that this scent gets you nose blind pretty quickly, so you get a whiff of beautiful tea from time to time, which is exceptionally elegant. Don’t overspray it or you WILL go nose blind to the beauty of this perfume.

There’s a fruity tea opening that I enjoyed , eventually got the Vetiver , but I can barely detect it anymore beyond the 3 hour mark. I’d need to try this again in more optimal circumstance because it seems like it’s whimpered out by surrounding smells. EDIT: I definitely started smelling this again around 6pm when I applied this around late 6 am as I worked out, so longevity is not an issue

If you are bored of using similar styles of fresh fregrance then this is true masterpiece, its unique and different from regular freshi, mass appealing, long lasting and perfect unisex fragrance and bottle looks gorgeous too 10/10

To those saying this isn’t very unique- do know anything similar to this fragrance...? Please dm me. Please DONT say African rooibos (really isn’t minus the red tea), dynasty or hawas London.

Versatile, clean, comforting, sophisticated, non-offensive, high quality components. Love it.

I'll be honest this fragrance has an accord in here which would immediately turn me off most perfumes, and that's what I call the 'transparent' sandalwood. It's not a creamy or wood shaving sandalwood but more akin to that awful, pickle brine, papyrus, santal 33 type thing. However it's just subtle enough to be interesting and not annoying and actually comes on from the initial spray and dies back to reveal vetiver and a strong nutty, aged vetiver at that too which is almost undetectable for the first hour or two. I don't know what Roiboos tea smells like but if it's adding something here I like it, I love the citrus in the opening and the way it cuts through and lasts in this fragrance. It's not a pretty fragrance or anything infact it's a bit of an ugly duckling with odd pop reference appeal in there, I think CC will be surprised at the popularity of this one. I've worn a few times now and I like it, delivers it's different facets slowly and progressively, deliberate and clever perfumery, I love to smell stuff I've not smelled before and this lands in that category. I'm not enamoured but I'm quietly impressed.

Elegant, calming scent. Similar to Ormonde Jayne Montabaco, just with the vetiver instead of tobacco. It has the same tea accord and airiness. It wouldn't surprise me if Geza Schoen was the perfumer. The tea note is very long lasting (I can still clearly smell it after 4h mark) and vetiver is giving it some sharpness and smokiness. It's relatively mellow and not earthy or nutty type. Later in the drydown vetiver is most what I detect. SImilar to the deep drydown of Roja Elysium. I'd love a bottle, but, as a happy Montabaco Intensivo owner, I know it would be redundant. I very much recommend to sample this one!

Got a decant of this and it's a bit different that other tea scents I've tried. I suspect it's because of the Rooibos tea, which has more of a fruit punch feel than a green tea note. This gives the scent more of a darker vibe to me, one that would be more appropriate for wearing in fall/winter rather than spring/summer. It's got the Clive Christian quality but also the CC price tag. I enjoyed my sample, but this is not full bottle worthy for me.

The scent is nice, not a strong projector at all, but you will know that it's there. If you have smelled Chris Collins African Rooibos, then you've smelled this. The minor differences are that this is a bit greener and doesn't project like African Rooibos. I'd say get African Rooibos over this or Neptune's Trident from Argos, both last longer and project more.

My first impression was... bubble gum?! There's a surprisingly sweet and bright note that almost reminds me of chewing gum mixed with tea leaves. It sounds strange, but somehow it works. It's playful without becoming childish and definitely doesn't smell like a joke fragrance. One of the more unusual tea fragrances I've tried and I'll need more time with it.

Very lovely and elegant scent however it is very faint, 5 minutes after spray it is slightly stronger that a skin scent. By hour 3 you can barely make it out in your skin, however you can still smell the Vetiver on clothes for a bit more after that. A shame for a lovely scent and absurd price (only buy at discounted price)

A very bright, happy citrus scent throughout. It smells simple if you're not paying attention, but it's a quiet, classy composition. You won't necessarily like it if you need a blast of citrus. This is for people who are ok with their scent sitting close to them and contemplating it.

I keep coming back to revisit this, sometimes the vetiver is overpowering and im out, other times its a super luxurious tea with citrus and it could be my end all be all. its kind of like Xerjoff 40 knots you just spray and hope god has mercy on you lol

Received a sample of this for free and was pleasantly surprised. Red Tea and Vetiver smells exactly as the name suggested, opening with the tea note before mixing with the vetiver for a smooth, wood/tea blend. Smells like the lobby of a luxury hotel.

definitely get the tea, its quite nice, but im not the biggest fan of vetiver, i find it to make the fragrance smell "dry" in a way. when it does dry down tho, its quite pleasant. 7.5/10

I was expecting a stunning fragrance and I got really disappointed. I was expecting a citrus fragrance with a smoky background, but it’s the opposite, smoky fragrance with a little bit of citrus in it. I’m not a fan of this scent at all and considering the price and mid performance, the situation becomes even worse.

Too simple and one dimensional. A shame, really.

Based on my reading I didn’t think even needed a sample because my loyal discounter had 3 of them & said to myself Wait!!! Just get yourself a sample of this first !! And couldn’t wait to try it & Turns out it’s just okay. The tea note is there a little and the Vetiver is weak, & It’s clean,If that makes sense, Not rooty & dirty, & The fruity more like fruit punch is more dominant than either leaving it to be a high priced 50 ml Granted I will tell you this from a 2 ml dabber. But still didn’t meet the expectations I had from all the reading on here. This isn’t terrible or wack by any means But wasn’t full 50ml $310 bottle worthy for me. I have a bottle of Tea For Two that I absolutely love & have tried and want Chasing Scents “Private Tea House” & Masque Milano’s “Russian Tea” & Heard good things about Chris Collin’s “African Rooibos”, I won’t compare Vetiver here because This was more tea than Vetiver with my experience, Again Not bad, But just not worth the price tag of what’s in that tiny bottle! Perfect bitter citrus opening, very green, high quality darkish Vetiver kicks in. Instantly recognize the Clive Christian realness, around 30 min in warms up, get the Rooibos, get the woods, citrus blend stays, and Vetiver bitterness turns bit cozy. Different scent on skin and on paper strip, can't wait to see how it evolves, get a different Rooibos on paper. As a Tea type, might be an aura scent? Will find out because will spray it a lot this spring. Still can't get enough of these Vetivers aaand of these Teas, and this happened. Personal blind buy no-brainer, unexpected surprize to the fullest, tops up the shelve the right and proper way, so it's a triangle now, three types of Citrus Vetivers: L, Vetiver Imperiale and the Roja Vetiver.

The notes say it all this is exactly what you are getting - a strong red rooibos tea with some citrusy notes and crispy dry vetiver. Very realistic tea note - rooibos tea usually has this light sweetness and it is also captured here. Those who are into tea scents just have to try this! It feels cozy and inviting, I like how uplifting it is. It gives a feeling of comfort and relaxation. I imagine wearing this perfume on evenings relaxing near some fireplace and just having the best time with your loved ones. Very relaxing scent that evokes good emotions.

I've got a sample of it with my Nishane Ani order. It opens with a blast of really bright citruses, which disappear almost immediately, giving space to a quiet and mellow scent of rooibos. I do like it, although it's really understated and honestly smells more like a scented body balm than perfume. It's pleasant, but I couldn't justify buying it at this price point.

A blend of sweet rooibos tea and vetiver that creates the impression of dry woods. It's clean with a somewhat diffusive character. The fragrance is overpriced for what it offers. African Rooibos is often mentioned as a similar and more reasonably priced alternative, although I haven't smelled it myself. Feels British, quite dry and comfortable.

Matured into more acquired taste, more niche, more true perfume. Greatly calibrated four parts java vetiver one part bitter lemon and slight somber tea, overall not extra brightened up, just that sheer tandem with the high quality to it all. Year in after release and purchase brings out the musk, sandalwood warms up and turns it into a movie.

It's an amazing perfume really BUT the price point is really high and there are some really similar alternatives to it as African Rooibos from Chris Colin's. Really similar vibe for less than half the price.

Excited for this one. I love the smell of rooibos tea. I tried Chris Collins African Rooibos a couple years ago and didn't care for it. Hopefully this is better.

this is a more punchy, and less aromatic version of amber fougeree, i prefer amber fougeree , its more sophisticated and cheaper than this new version of vetiver

I want this one... I love Vetiver and Rooibos is our thing in SouthAaaa (South African) 😊
