Coach Gold

I have heard interesting stories about how this fragrance smells from person to person. I initially loved the way it smelled on paper and the associate suggested trying it on. My elatedness and surprise were equally scaled. Coach Gold is my favorite designer release of the year. While Coach for Men EDP was a major disappointment, the women’s release had such a great impression on me that I purchased it for myself. On my skin it opened up similar to Mercedes Benz Club Black, then transformed into something very warm in the family of Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille and Akro Glow. It is surprisingly unisex. There is a whisper of fruitiness after time, but the composition is not at all fruity. There also aren’t enough flowers to constitute a floral presence. Traditionally, this is what you would call an oriental vanilla. Vanilla and Amber are key players all the way through and if not for the pink pepper, it probably wouldn’t have been as appealing to me personally. Louise Turner does wonderful work with vanilla such as, Blanche Bête by Liquides Imaginaires, TF Lost Cherry, Musc Infini by Ex Nihilo, I Want Choo Forever Jimmy Choo, Eau de Star by Thierry Mugler and Good Girl & Good Girl Supreme. A great collaboration for this release.

“Coach Gold” review: I really love this scent. At first I didn’t, it smelled horrible on me. Too much musk and not enough vanilla or almond. However, when I tried it, I already had on a scent and I believe they did not mix well and I got a very nasty smell. So I waited a week later to get the previous scent out of my nose and made sure my skin was clean and tried it again. I’m really glad that I did because the scent is so different from the first time I tried it. This time the scent smells really spicy. I no longer smell the musk. Instead the perfume smells like a very soft warm spice. I think it smells wonderful. I cannot say how much I love this new scent from Coach. It has become one of my new favorites. Just a note: I do know that perfumes always smell different on other people due to their body chemicals. Some people say they can smell the vanilla or the almond. All I can smell is spice. Not the sugary cinnamon spice, just a warm spice. Personally I love it. I would say that a spicy scent is good for the Autumn.

I love this!! This is right up my alley. It's very SUPER powdery and heavy on the vanilla. Opulent, golden. Cozy. This definitely means mature. It's nothing like the designer fragrances that are out on the market lately. This smells like something that could have been released in the eighties. I can't remember what Avon Far Away Gold smells like but I have a vague recollection of it smelling something like this scent. It's most definitely a vintage amber type scent like one of my favorites L'Artisan Ambre D'Extreme. This is definitely not a safe blind by unless you like vintage ambery perfumes. Even goes in that YSL Opium direction and I'm here for it. I think I will wait until it's been out for a little while and the prices go down but this is something that I would definitely pick up a full bottle of. Edit: this stuff is POTENT and it projects. I sprayed my shirt while I was in Macy's 2 days ago and this perfume has filled up my whole room. It's beautiful 😍!

This is like if Jo Malones Mryhh and Tonka had a baby with Vetiver and Golden Vanilla. It’s a smooth combination of those with the bourbon vanilla of V&GV but sweeten it up a bit and the vetiver note, the intensity has been toned down yet it remains vocal. Coach gold seems to have taken also M&T’s airy amber note and toned it up while keeping it light, it then swapped the lavender note for blossoms and turned the almond note all the way up. There’s also a powdery incense accord that floats around the back which is created by the vetiver and bourbon vanilla, it really contrasts well with the savoury sweet candy notes. Coach Gold is a great alternative if you like Mryhh & Tonka. Its amazing if you like grown incense-y, savoury sweet, nutty perfumery 9/10 from me, I can see myself stealing this from my partner, its an intoxicating blend.

Tried in store at Macys, on paper and on skin, generously applied. Beautiful, soft, long lasting, and pretty, although linear. Wears close to skin but is still very enjoyable. The opening smells to me like a blend of BDK Velvet Tonka and Guess Seductive Red. The rest smells like a smoother, softer, more vanillic and more feminine take on VT. This is very chic and very beautiful. Went home and purchased a full bottle from a discounter. Update: definitely a slightly more feminine take on velvet Tonka. It has a sueded nuance to it, as opposed to the leather accord in VT, which makes this more airy and wearable for me. It’s not as soft, now, however. It’s much bolder than in my initial test and only a few sprays are needed for a good scent bubble. VERY happy with this addition!

I really love this fragrance. I wasn't sure about it at first but it has really grown on me. It's a beautiful ambery vanilla that's sweet but not juvenile. It lasts all day and the bottle is super elegant and nice it feels very luxurious. I think this fragrance is very versatile, you can wear it day or night and for formal occasions or casual wear. I would say it is kind of a cozy feeling fragrance, so I don't see myself wearing it in the summer, but I could see someone wearing it in the summer and liking it. Compared to other designer fragrances, it's quite possible to get this one at a discounted price and I would say it is very worth it!

Coach Gold is still my favorite perfume, even after trying so many others. There’s just something about the warm, creamy vanilla mixed with amber and soft woods that feels effortlessly feminine, cozy, and elegant. It performs amazingly on me. Even the next day, I can still smell it on my hair and my pillows, which I absolutely love. I get so many compliments whenever I wear it, and even when I layer it with other perfumes, Coach Gold still manages to shine through. This is the fragrance I always find myself coming back to. If I could only keep one perfume in my collection, it would probably be this one.

How good is this?! I think I was a bit nose blind to it at first, but this really shines now that snow has fallen and the air is wintery. I would definitely categorize this as a vanilla scent, of the warm and fuzzy kind, with some delicious spices among which I kind of get cinnamon. A slight bit of smokiness, too. First impression a month ago was ”well, I’ll just use it up. Kind of weak, or I can’t detect it properly”. Now it is ”mmmm... ohmygoodness! I will need a backup!” Maybe the maceration thing is valid for some designer perfumes as well? Plus, super pretty bottle!

I adore this perfume. I tried it already teetering on a migraine and it did not get worse. I've worn it for a few days after and it has yet to trigger a migraine. As for the scent, this (to me) smells like a boozy cinnamon sugared donut. It smells delicious! Every time I smell it it reminds me of a cronut that's dipped in a deep spicy rum. I have a problem with Amber and usually anything that has amber I have a hard time with - however this perfume it is beautifully wrapped up in the cinnamon, sugar scent and works perfectly!

I haven’t been attracted to many recent coach releases, so I wasn’t sure if I’d like this. Ohhhhh was I wrong! Upon first spray, there’s a hint of boozy vanilla and amber, which dries down to a cozy and sweet toasted almond scent. I was surprised bourbon isn’t listed in the notes because my nose totally got that from smelling this. If you’re looking for a cozy and unique gourmand for fall this might be a good choice! One of the only newer almond scents I’ve tried that doesn’t smell like burnt plastic.

Coach Gold Parfum gives me a combination of Xerjoff Duran Duran Black Moonlight and Dove deodorant (original scent). Warm amber, vanilla, soft florals, a hint of citrus, and a BEAUTIFUL creamy powder. It’s a powderbomb in the best way. Exquisite powder for the powder haters. Coach Gold Parfum is now my full bottle main contender from the perfect-powder scent family.

A typical Louise Turner banger - screechy, loud And opulent in a good way ..same feel like her Paradiso for Cavalli. A lot od punk pepper, Amber, vanilla and almond. The performance Is INCREDIBLE!! beast mode bomb 💣 i dont like the Coach bottles though, they Are not elegant, even when gold. Plus the Price Is too high for Coach.

i do get the small hints of baby powder/diaper, but this grew on me so much. i feel like “gold” is such an accurate name. this perfume feels like a sunny fall day, end of september. it just feels very warm and feminine and happy. (i also got like 5 compliments in one day so i guess others like it too)

Yes yes yes! Smell this in Ulta the other day and immediately had to have a bottle. Get it for a better price on discount sites. This one is such a gorgeous creamy, grown woman fragrance with just a slight touch of fruity floral. Performance is amazing on it as well. New favorite.

I really like it. Does it remind me of scents my older relatives worn in the late 80s/early 90s? Yes, but it’s done in a way that is less tacky to me. I love the amber and vanilla combo here but this would be over the top in any weather over 60°

tl;dr: Quietly put-together. Grown-up clean girl. Glossier You’s more refined older cousin. 🚿🧖♀️🌸🩰 Soft, sweet, and just a little grown up. Coach Gold opens with a brief hint of pink peppercorn, which quickly gives way to faint fruit notes before settling into a gentle base best described as sweetened baby powder. The vanilla is smooth and restrained, never cloying, and tempered by a softly floral almond blossom that keeps it grounded. It’s clean, pretty, and unoffensive. Shower-fresh in a warm, comforting way. Think a freshly steamed linen towel, not a fruity shampoo. It lives in the same scent family as Glossier You: skin-adjacent, subtly warm, and quiet. Coach Gold, however, is just a notch more assertive. Still soft, but with a more classic “perfume” character. Like You, the projection is fairly intimate and the longevity moderate. Best suited for everyday wear when you want to smell clean and composed without announcing it. The packaging mirrors the scent: classic with a subtly youthful twist. The bottle is sleek, metallic, and minimal. It doesn’t show fingerprints, which I appreciate for a finish like this. The little “C” charm adds a playful, trendy touch. I picked this up for my niece’s 18th birthday. At first, I wondered if it might be too mature, but it actually feels just right. A softly polished scent for someone stepping into adulthood— still gentle, but with a little more refinement.

This is actually really interesting for a designer release, which to me usually lean towards commercially likable and safe. It is STRONG and BOLD. To me this is one of those where you spray it and you are like "Ew oh my god" and then you smell it again and think "Well...maybe" and then get little whiffs of it now and then and its somehow amazing. So far its a BOLD spicey almond, but more of a powdery almond than a play-dohey almond. But despite the powdery aspect, do not mistake this for a clean fragrance. There is definitely something animalic in there, something a little rich and stinky. Not a safe blind buy, I am honestly not sure if I love it or hate it. I think its going to grow on me, but I would be scared to wear it in public. Edit: I agree with the reviewer who said it reminds them of Delina Exclusif. It's like if Exclusif had an almond note instead of a rose note.

I was able to test this out before I saw the note profile and immediately knew there was some form of Almond in this! Any time there’s an almond note in a fragrance it is either the playdoh overly sweet or a sweet earthy scratchy scent. Not sure how to explain but the almond in this is textured like the latter description. I like it. I am also a fan of TF Lost Cherry which has been mentioned that this resembles. I can see the comparison but feel this is less “fruit” forward and leans heavily on the amber. The texture and scent combo of this reminds me alot of JM Myrrh and Tonka. I was 100% expecting this to have an incense like note included besides amber. Although this has dense sounding notes I feel it can be worn most times of the year but maybe not in the trenches of a southern Summer.

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this- I get the pink pepper quite strongly at first spray, and it also had a pretty prominent woody accord.....only for those to fade - the Vanilla and Almond Blossom notes dominating the fragrance. Almond blossom is said to be light and airy, and I would say the amber base gives it more depth and strength. I am reminded of Avon's Far Away, though I find this a lot more enjoyable as it isn't powdery and does not have a screechy sandalwood note. I wouldn't say this is my favorite release from Coach (I think my favorites are the og Coach in this bottle and Coach Dreams Sunset), but all in all a nice addition!

I really enjoy COACH GOLD. When I first smelled it I thought, “ now this is something I can overspray!” Yet you really don’t need to. This is a sweet creamy goodness that reminds me of baking. The bergamot is added to the fruity accord to cut the heaviness of the sweetness. Meanwhile the almond is the main character whose flavor is accentuated by the vanilla and amber. A tiny bit of pink pepper is the unexpected ingredient that adds the "je ne sais quoi". COACH GOLD creates a nice scent bubble with some projection. It is comfortable. Not a warm weather fragrance at all. The bottle doesn’t smug easily.

So this has the same ambery base that all of the cherry scents have had lately in specific dossier ambery cherry, TF lost cherry, the seven virtues cherry ambition but without the cherry note although I do get a very faint hint of cherry which I wonder if it’s just the amber association or if there’s Benzaldehyde which is used to make both cherry and almond notes? There is an odd resinous note that leans somewhat Smokey or peppery but the almond blossom note somewhat balances that.

A cross between YSL Cinema and Burberry Goddess but without lavender. Take the lavender out and replace it with pink pepper. It's closer to Cinema for me because I get the almond blossom strong both Cinema and Coach Gold.But do what I said to Burberry Goddess above and mix it with YSL Cinema you would get Coach Gold. A good alternative for Cinema since I hear they are discontinuing it. A nice almond blossom soft spicy vanilla amber. Great for cool/cold weather.

It’s a love. However only after the dry down. The opening smell has a hay note my nose doesn’t always pick up but has a few times. It’s like a cashmere hug to me otherwise. Also reminds me of the original caress (the soap and body wash) dna in a good way. Good as an everyday. I have a large bottle. Also side note I see what some are saying about a hamster cage. Idk what that is but I smell it haha. Not every time but sometimes.

A mature mix of powder and almond. Smells like sipping amaretto in a strip club. Unfortunately this sit extremely close to my skin to the point where I couldn’t smell it unless I stuck my nose directly to my wrist. If this had any projection on me, it would probably be an immediate buy, but unfortunately the sillage is so bad that I have to pass.

I have reviewed this before but I had never smelled 'Good Girl's before (my bad) and now that I have, this is A LOT like Good Girl. Good Girl, but a little warmer and a little stinkier. To reiterate what I had in my previous review, this is NOT blind buy safe and on my skin it lasted FOREVER.

Almond blossom and amber with a hint of vanilla. Unique, powdery, lactonic, smooth, slightly soapy, nutty, slightly sweet and musky. Very good longevity and sillage. Feminine leaning beautiful scent.

This is what vanilla sex by tom ford was going for, except this actually smells good. Slight vanilla with heavy almond and a slight sweetness

So disappointed 😢 There’s an underlying gorgeous vanilla sweetness with almond blossom, but it’s suffocated in bonfire smoke.

I was tempted to blind buy simply because the bottles are gorgeous but I’m glad I went into Coach to test first as I left empty handed. Tried Love and Gold. The bottles are beautifully made though. Very high quality. Gold smells nice although it has quite an artificial amber quality. Much better performance than Love. The scent radiates and has a cozy quality to it but it’s nothing special. All I’m really getting is warm synthetic amber. It’s a pass from me. Reminds me of a weaker version of Ghost Orb of Night.

This perfume makes me sad because I love the notes and scent profile but I can’t stand the plasticky play doh scent that I get when I smell this especially in the opening . I feel like this would be a beautiful perfume if better ingredients were used . Aside from that, I would say this smells like almondy sweet vanilla powder . I hope I can find the better version of this one day

I find this scent comforting, but I don’t want to wear it. It doesn’t suit my personality. The notes are safe and honestly I feel like I’ve smelled this before. I just can’t put my finger on it. It’s such a familiar smell. It’s not unique or groundbreaking. Pleasant enough to sell, but I don’t see this being anyone’s signature.

I find Coach Gold by Coach to be a mature, feminine scent that leans warmer and sweeter. It feels smooth and cozy, with creamy vanilla, soft florals, and a warm amber base. To me, it gives a polished, grown-woman vibe — elegant, slightly sweet, and more refined than playful or youthful.

I love it! But at first it smells like disinfectant. Once you get past that, it's a lovely perfume with fruity notes and vanilla, and a deep amber scent in the background, a youthful yet not childish fragrance. However, it has no diffusibility. I want more power!

For me, it smells a bit like chai latte spices. Then vanilla and amber, for sure. But it also had a plastic note that bothered me. Decluttered.

Turns out I hate pink pepper on myself. I can see why people might enjoy this, but it's not for me.

Yuck. I only tested this on a strip and was immediately repulsed. Couldn't bring myself to try it on my arm because I'm certain this would not disappear easily (points for Quality and Longevity). For me this is nauseating and I couldn't place what the notes were. Smells like Play Doh but as a perfume with a lot of body. I will say it's well-blended. Fairly linear. Full bodied, but not a heavy wear. I smelled the strip periodically over 2-2.5 hrs. It loses the initial sparkly blast and softens, but it's still going strong after 5 hours (another positive in my book). Becomes nuttier in the drydown. Looking up the notes, I see my problem: Louis Turner. lol. (her perfumes are generally too sweet/not my taste). This is sweet in a nutty way. I get vanilla+amber immediately as a weighty (doughy) base that is lifting and blending with the strange combo that turns out to be "Pink Pepper and Fruits". I generally do not like pink pepper, and not sure which fruits are being featured. Fruits are on the syrupy side, and sparkly. The most impressive thing about this perfume is that it doesn't wear heavy on the test strip, but is deep and rich. The drydown is a little sour to my nose. Not animalic though. Check it out if you like vanilla just for the fun of it.

I tested this on my skin. At first it seemed promising with the pink pepper and fruit in the top notes. It wasn’t exactly fruity, but those notes lended an impression of complexity to the rest of the composition. Unfortunately, it dried down to a very simple, yet rich, warm, and slightly animalic vanilla. It wasn’t animalic enough to smell masculine or vintage, but just enough so that it made me not want it on my skin. Still, it is a well-done vanilla, and fills a void in the current market, because it’s not powdery, floral, or cheap and synthetic smelling (as in, it doesn’t smell like an air freshener). I wish it had worked for me, and I will most likely test it again in cooler weather to see if that does the trick for me!

It is strong and you have to try it on skin. I thought the opening was SUPER on a tester so I of course sprayed it on the back of my hand and then BOOM I couldn't escape it. From magical first whiff - to an old compact face powder like some others mentioned. It stayed on the back of my hand after several washes so the staying power is legit. Not my style fragrance but others that like this profile will be impressed by the longevity and staying power.

It smells good for like two seconds then immediately goes bad. On my skin it dried down to smelling powdery and bug spray-ish. Definitely gives citronella (not in a good way) in my opinion. I am going to guess it’s because the perfume contains citronellol- I just think it should be listed as a note if it’s going to be so potent.

I rarely, if ever call a perfume “putrid” but this sadly is to me. Not at all what I expected. Smells almost fecal, like a hamster cage. Quickest NO of my life. I wanted to love this but I can’t do enough mental gymnastics to convince myself that I even like it. Sad because note wise it was promising. Not a safe blind buy

I regret ever putting this on my arm. It's always the fragrances I despise that last longer than 6+ hours. Initial spray is headache-inducing type of strong, and the smell of amber is all I could decipher. It took around two hours for me to pick up the fruity notes. Girl bye

I purchased this one. I gave it away as quickly as I bought it. It smells awful smells like the plastic baby dolls from the dollar tree. I said it the dollar tree. Such a disappointment.

Sprayed it on my wrist at a store. I wish I hadn't. Notwithstanding the fact I like both Coach perfumes and vanilla, I couldn't stand this. The initial spray was quite good, but then sth punched me in the face. Well, the fruit notes are listed, so it could the plum (which I despise in perfume) to blame. In the scent profile, it slightly reminded me of Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande, which is nothing like as nauseating and headache-inducing. Louise Turner, the nose behind this fragrance, is not my favorite perfumer and I was definitely able to track down her signature in here. With all that said, barely had I come back home from the mall when I dashed to take a shower, which still didn't help me to fully get rid of it.
