Andy Warhol's You're In

Kind of like eating fruity pebbles in the laundry room. The metallic wash bucket at your feet with traces of cleanser is sensed below (the metallic amber and the bizarrely soft alien florals). But right on top is this addictive experience of the aldehydes, cashmere wood, and musks mixing with that initial explosion of bitter orange and makrut lime zest. Oddly enough this all feels kind of nostalgic in a way and adds up to a milky bowl of fruity pebbles and doing sunday laundry. Sadly it just doesn't last or project very much so I am constantly sniffing my wrist for it for the 1 hour I can detect it. I like it right out of a shower or right before bed; because why can't I have cereal twice a day?

Love this. Great for late winter, early spring, and summer nights. Sparkling bitter citrus soda. More metallic than sweet. None of that glue/rubber/inky/solvent type smell that a lot of CdG frags have. Definitely a bit standoffish but assertive and fun to wear. An acquaintance said it smells like a gin tonic. I don’t 100% agree but it’s the closest “real world” smell I could compare this to. Not the biggest Andy Warhol fan but glad I decided to test at Dover Street Market. Even though the notes seem common, I have nothing exactly like this in my collection. Unique at a decent price.

An excellent excellent cologne, bitter, salty, sweet citrus, very unusual. This is a dark lemon - with lemon peel at the center, a background which is metallic, a bit ambery and with white flowers. One of the best citrus smells I've tried - up there with Eau d'Orange Verte. And oh so sexy! A triumphant cologne.

I love aldehydes and I love this fragrance! It reminds me of This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.5, but this one is less floral/ambery and more citrusy. And this costs less! I would say that Not a Blue Bottle 1.5 lasts longer though, probably because it is EdP.

But Maurice, but CDG! But yes, yes, there was an idea. A 21st-century aldehydes. The perfume of the future done-and-done-now. Pittosporum-cashmere-white clouds: we wanted soft-blue-gray and clean, but this disappears as quickly as it arrived. It's all light. Clean laundry. Lemon Marseille soap. Ironing still in fashion. Distilled water. I like it, yes, but it's so volatile here! Too bad: it would have been a nice alternative to Not a Perfume. But: in layering perhaps? Still, it has a certain depth, both floral and aromatic, that would merit a meeting with other perfumes. One more in the series of mono-fantoms-laundrymat, then, but each with its own specificity.
