Luxe Patchouli Eau de Toilette

LUXE: patchouli is a surprisingly polarising fragrance; I wish I had a buck for every reviewer that’s complained of the “patchouli-less patchouli”. However: I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE WITH EVERY INCH OF MY LITTLE BLACK HEART. It’s loaded with my favourite sniffy-comforters like the happy accident of immortelle. It’s patchy, mossy. It’s peppery. It’s dry. It’s woody. It’s damn-near perfect... ....... IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE I just cannot even... GONE. Just like that. I implore you: I’m down to 11⁄2 bottles. PLEASE contact me if you can stand to part with yours, particularly the PARFUM. Weeping...

It must be 12 months since I last wore this, and yet I’m immediately reminded why it’s on my Frantica Top 5 shelf. It’s patchouli, but nothing like one would expect. Warm and cozy due to the very subtle soy bean and vanilla, yet incredibly sophisticated without having all the roughness buffed off. The patchouli is completely de-hippyfied and spiced up with pepper and a hint of that CdG house cedar note. Never ceases to generate interest and compliments. I’d have to say that even as a bit of a CdG fan, this one transcends pretty much anything else I’ve encountered from the brand... Amazing.

It is spicy at the very beginning to come so as to feel saltiness.When fog of the spice clears, a fragrance peculiar to usual COMME DES GARCONS appears.Sweet, slightly bitter peace and calm.

It has a strong tobacco when worn on the clothes. It also has a bit of a coco smell, but not sweet coco. it smells like the darkest, highest concentration cocoa bar from the expensive grocery. the whole smell is wealthy luxury goods. Personally, I just wish it had a little bit of floral or musk to tie it all together and make it more of a perfume than such an accurate rendition of its notes. But that is me. Although I really like the dirty, animalistic and off beat scents, I also prefer my perfumes to smell like perfume and not necessarily arbitrarily different. I always think of this and Jasmine and Cigarettes by Etat Libre d'Orange together. Not because they smell similarly, but because Jasmine and Cigarettes smells like real life fragrances but pulls off being a perfume where Luxe doesn't quite get that harmony together. All that said, I am a little bit of a purist when it comes to fragrances and I don't necessarily assign a value to them based on my preferences. My boyfriend, who I love madly, wears this and I love it on him and he loves it. I think he loves it because it is complex and many sided, each side having its own moment as it develops and changes throughout the day. With this one, I think it would be hard to say "Oh yeah, that is Luxe Patch" just having someone walk by. I would have to be around them for a little while and the rhythm of smells would confirm it for me.

Similar Emmanuel Ungaro Homme 1. Definitely perfect similar. Good sillage and longevity super current both product. But dont forget this very spices scents both of them.
