Mimosa

I’m kind of obsessed with this one. It was a blind buy from tj maxx and was well worth the $30 that I paid for it. It reminds me of those tangerine altoids from the early 2000s. It’s like a sour mandarin orange with some white floral mixed in. A bit soapy as well. Overall super fresh and beautiful. I can see this being beautiful on a spring day, I’m sad that I only just discovered it in October. It has a bit of a Jo Malone vibe. My husband is a bit picky about perfumes and he loves this. Longevity on skin is decent and even better on clothes. If you see this at tj maxx, grab it. It’s on the commodity website but out of stock so I think it may be discontinued so get it while you can.

Opens with smoothed out mild citrus and generous white florals that bring to mind much more the mimosa flower than the champagne/orange juice cocktail of the same name. Projection is adequate, longevity isn’t too bad but could be better. The jasmine and orange blossom seem to outweigh the mixed citrus, there’s none of that typical citric sharpness, so the connection to the mimosa drink isn’t a very strong one for me, but it’s still a lovely, bright, uplifting fragrance for warmer weather. Smells very pure and natural. One of my favourites from this line - a simple, uncomplicated floral beauty.

I blind bought this since I got some commodity bottles and I like to collect them. The bottle is really pretty compared to the black one (expressive). But I was surprised with the scent! It’s lovely! Nothing very special about it, just uplifting, citrusy sweet, orangey, and such a friendly scent. I was around some people who do not like perfumes but they didn’t seem to mind this one. So pretty for the summer time!

This smells very good and I almost bought it, but unfortunately leans too feminine for my personal taste. The citruses, pepper, musk, and orris are a great combination imo. Smells very fresh and clean but also interesting. Jasmine is the bane of my existence and it makes this one a no go for me. But I'd recommend this on a woman. Scent 7.5/10 (for a woman) Performance 3.5/10 (it's fleeting)

This is a beautiful, easy to wear spring/summer scent. One of those scents which is a delight to spritz on a hot day. Also one of those scents that you regularly smell yourself throughout the day and comment "darn, I smell good!". Floral for sure but fresh! Fab-u-lous.

I like this! On me, it is more floral than citrus! It is a little powdery also. I like to layer this with Mimosa & Spearmint from Bath & Body Works.

One of my favorites, but do not see a guy using it ( wouldn't judge if a guy did though ).

This was a blind buy and I'm so glad I took the chance. This scent is so lovely. Based on reading the notes alone I was skeptical, as I'm not terribly impressed by that "wide awake" quality in most citrusy scents. But this is unique because there is a fresh coziness to this and it's blended very well. You could take a delicious nap in it or have lunch wearing it. I imagine wearing this on a picnic with a special someone on a bright spring day. It also reminds me of being a child in a small rural town in Mississippi. It smells like the best parts of my early childhood. It's amazing the places scents can take you.

Opening is very fruity and a bit toilet air-freshener like. Lemon, orange and mandarin with hints of jasmine, it smells more creamy than sharp though. Nice opening for very hot weather. the dry down is lovely though, a musky woody skin scent (right up my alley) that is a subtle but lasted for like 12 hours on my skin.

yummy!!! i wanna eat it! creamy, sparkly orange; fairly realistic. didn't blow me away, but i enjoyed it quite a bit.

This is an interesting one for me. I typically hate white florals, but I got a sample of this in one of the new member traveling sample boxes and gave it a go anyway. My initial impression was that it was as if they'd made a white floral without all the parts I hate about them. It's still recognizable as part of that family, but without that intense, cloying facet that can come up. The citrus is also recognizable but somehow muted, not sharp but still fresh. Overall the scents meld together in a way that almost suggest many things– green bananas, tropical flowers, something soapy, but without actually smelling like any of those things. Like I said, it's weird. I do like it, since the overall impression is a pleasant one, but dang is it hard to pin down!

Immediately brought back memories of Anais Anais, my first perfume. Sweet, girlish... widely copied. It made me notice that many of the Commodity fragrances seem like commodity fragrances - widely used scents in commercial products (as you may notice in the comments, there are a lot of comparisons to mass market toiletries).

Mimosa is so strong and screechy. Not my style. Could see this working on my boyfriend though! EDIT: So I have been wearing this for about 2 hours now and the screechy-ness has calmed down a lot. This is actually kind of nice? I'm definitely not a fan overall, but I don't hate it as much as I did on the first initial spray.

A pleasant sense, but I wouldn't describe it as fresh / fruity / sparkly... that is to say, there's many perfumes that are way more so than this one. To me this fragrance evokes slightly dusty wayside wildflowers in summer. More mimosa the flower, less mimosa the drink.

to me it smells like flowers mostly. the top and middle notes smell fine but for some reason i could not stand what it became after a few hours. it was kinda strong, i could smell it without bringing my nose to my arm

Very floral and citrusy. This fragrance has a sourness that I actually quite like and overall this is very pleasant.

This fragrance is nothing special, it mostly smells of white florals and musk. The citrus lasts about 10 minutes.

This opens smelling like herbal essences body envy conditioner (it's a milky screamsicle orange color). It then very quickly turns into a pile of grated ivory soap. I actually like the opening, I do enjoy my conditioner. But the soap is just sooo strong and so distinctly a pile of soap shavings I just can't do it. Had to remove. It's a chilly November morning though, so I'll try it in the spring or summer when it's meant to be used

Too much lemon-cleaner type of feel. I get a good mix of the top notes and orange blossom but not much else.

This scent is so nice, however, it has a very wrong name - this is not a mimosa scent, it does however, resembles a bit of a mimosa flower, but in a fresh way without the dustiness, rather the yellow color of the flower that the flower itself (does it make sense?). It opens with a blast of grapefruit flesh mixed with jasmine. The jasmine in here is not the Heavy jasmine oil or fullbloomed flowers, rather a green jasmine of the small buts that are just growing. I would not entirely call it citrus, rather floral-citrus. The scent is quite linear and stays for max 4 hours (a poor longevity of Commodity scents is well-known). It is deinitely Worth trying and having a 10ml travel spray. A must-try for floral or citrus lover.

This is one of the few Commodity fragrances that works for me. It is a summer scent, smells pleasant and actually last about 4 hrs. The floral really comes out in this one, maybe Jasmine. It prevents the citrus from being too sharp, and I guess the citrus prevents the jasmine from being sickening sweet. Well balanced, but not a "new" scent. Smells like something you smelled a lot in the late 70's.

This very much reminds me of Atelier colognes Orange Sanguine. If you liked that one, good chance you'll like this one too. On me, the blood orange really comes through and stays around a long time. A very citrus scent and worth a try, especially if you love blood orange.

I so badly wanted to love this. I enjoy the opening. Fresh, floral, and citrusy. Then it turns sour on my skin. It’s a sharp, sour scent that I can’t quite place. I love this house and the notes in this. For some reason though, I find it repugnant after a few minutes.

A floral citrus, makes me think of something from Frederic Malle. Perhaps Lys Mediterranee? Floral with a whiff of cool salty sea water.

This is emphatically mimosa in the champagne-and-orange-juice sense. Smells just like putting my nose in a cocktail.

Not a fan of this one- too much like Johnson and Johnson no tears.
