Mimosa

This smells so good. Grapefruit and oranges on a bed of soap suds; very uplifting and relaxing. Smells very unisex to my nose. The only thing I'd change is it has a slight shampoo vibe. Maybe 15%. But otherwise I think it's gorgeous. Don't sleep on this one! Scent 8/10 Performance 3.5/10

This is simply delicious. Citrus spicy, I'm supposed to be on no by. But after discovering the Commodity line no way.

It’s a bit confusing having two entries, but maybe I’m just uneducated on there being two different versions. Anyway, I don’t really get “champagne”, but I get a sweet nectar of the juiciest flower to be beheld by man. It starts out citrusy, but that quickly gives way to a beautiful waxy, almost heady burst of florals. They could have called this Ambrosia and I would believe that this was bestowed upon us by the gods. Jasmine and orange blossom are big loves of mine, so I may be biased, but this is the epitome of spring in full bloom for me. I am testing out the Archive discovery set from this drop with Orris on one wrist and Mimosa and the other. Though somehow they complement each other quite well, Mimosa is quite beautiful and intoxicating on its own. I love orris/iris but theirs is a little sharper than expected and Mimosa both sweetens and smooths out the edges of Orris. It’s sweet, but not sickeningly so. I think it blends well because it doesn’t have any type of woods to ground it, whereas Orris is quite aromatic and contains coriander which lends itself to the woody aspect. I don’t tend to reach for florals (I’ve been trying to force myself to enjoy them more, because heavy woods and resins are not the most spring appropriate) but when I do, they’re usually indolic, waxy, powdery, and/or warm. This ticks all of those boxes. I need to test the rest of the lineup, but I may just make this my second FB from this house. I love it THAT much. I've owned Commodity Mimosa for over a year now and at first I was disappointed with the performance. Now, I realize that I was wearing it in the wrong weather. First of all, the scent is gorgeous. Yes, there is mimosa but it is not a green mimosa, more of a sweetened orangey mimosa. It is refreshing and uplifting. I tried to wear this in the high humidity of FL summer and it did not stand a chance. It died within 10 mins. However, in our fall weather (probably still summer for some) around 65-75F and low humidity, Mimosa sticks around for the 6 hours that I wore my shirt. I still smelled it after laundry. It is a brilliant perfume and I'm glad I waited to do a review. By the way, Nectar is very similar.

Mmmmimosa! It starts off as a VERY zingy citrus, but quickly settles into a citrus floral, with the jasmine and heliotrope fighting for dominance (in a good way). It then becomes a jasmine fragrance with the citrus and heliotrope singing harmony. Eventually, the ylang-ylang and tonka bean come in for their duet, accompanied by the jasmine and heliotrope. It's a nice fragrance on its own - but layer it with Commodity's TEA and you have something truly special.

Very citrus-centric scent. Pleasant spring summer scent, non-offensive but nothing super special either. Interestingly - the longevity is unbelievable. On my skin, one spray lasts at least 10 hours and on my shirt, wow, I get intermittent sniffs of it a week later still. This is not a beast mode scent, but its lasting power is on par with some of the niche powerhouse scents. This is pretty incredible for any scent, let alone a citrus scent !

For me, the orange and jasmine are the strongest notes. The jasmine makes it lean more feminine but the pepper and some other refreshing yet spicy notes, that I don't think are listed and can't quite put my finger on,are more masculine and really help to make this a more unisex fragrance. I have been experimenting with the Commodity cocktail kit for months now and I think this blends really well with Book.

I have the 15 sample Commodity storybook and am strugeling with longevity, some fade in 3-4hr. Mimosa I rate average, agree with the below comment of layering it with Tea, but could not recomed buying a full bottle. I like the grapefruit mandarine opening, missed the pepper and geranium completly and am left with a too sweet jasmine heliotrope mix. Im not really into simple florals. ⛤⛤

Tested with an official sample on my wrist The opening smells exactly like Atelier's Orange Sanguine, almost indistinguishable to my amateur palate. However, after an hour, Mimosa drives off the cliff into a field of white florals, while Orange Sanguine rumbles into a forest of Sandawood. I appreciate both, but personally prefer Mimosa for the floral notes!

Beautiful light citrus floral. Too light for my tastes, but I have to admit Commodity Goods is a great company. I like everything I put my nose on from this house. Even if I don't think all of their scents are full-bottle worthy, they are a delight and a joy to smell. And obviously high-quality. I can't wait to go through their platinum line as well!

The only thing I got from this was the "white floral." It's like a less offensive Yves Rocher product. My first thought after spraying was, "my nana would like this." Immediate spray was unpleasantly intense and somewhat sour. Dry down was soapy nana smell. Sweet-ish, powdery floral. Ylang ylang, jasmine....blugh. No citrus. No pepper. No tonka. Pretty and mellows out to tolerable levels. But not for me. My male friend and I think the room I sprayed it in smelled like a teachers' lounge after it mellowed out.

Tart orange citrus with undercurrent of pepper. Fades down to soapy white florals. Light sillage, weak longevity.

I like this a lot more than I thought I would. My initial impression was not so positive. It does smell synthetic and generic at first. I prefer my citrus scents to be sharp, dry and pungent and this is sweet and juicy from the start. The grapefruit note disappears almost instantly. The opening smells exactly as the name implies...like boozy orange juice. From there it transforms into and orange tinged floral. The jasmine bursts to the forefront. It smells creamy at times and the combo of orange and jasmine smells more like orange blossom to me. It’s very pleasant. What really has me sold is the performance. Every time I think the fragrance is gone, it surges back. I get pleasant wafts of it throughout the day. It seems to do better on skin than clothing. 12 hours later, I can still detect it on my skin. This will be my scent on humid summer days. As others have noted, it smells a bit like Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine.

Pretty fragrance at first, hits the notes I usually love with a citrus and jasmine blend but just falls short of being covet worthy because of a few things. First, it loses its nice juicy orange scent very quickly. Within minutes of fully drying it is almost entirely floral. Its not a terrible scent, its just not very special or unique anymore at this point - just generic. Even the jasmine I quite like is dulled down by the blend with other florals (where I think the soapy/granny comments in other reviews are referring to). The other factor is just how terribly fast it disappears. Even if I loved it, I'd be disappointed at having to reapply 3 or 4 times a day to continue enjoying it (which for me, seems to be a trend with Commodity, as none of them have been long lasting on my skin - and I rarely have that problem with fragrances).

At first, all I got was straight up orange essential oil. I think, perhaps, the Mimosa name is a reference to the drink (champagne and orange juice). It remains harsh at the skin; this is the opposite of wrist crack for me. I don't want to smell it up close. The wafts during the drydown are soft floral loveliness. Surprisingly lovely considering the harshness of the scent up close. I spent awhile trying to figure out where the "great" scent was coming from because it only bears a mild resemblance to what is actually on my skin.

It smelled clean fresh at the store, so I asked for a sample. So glad I did because this scent, for the price, is very generic and cheap-smelling, like something I could get at the drugstore. Now, Book, I really like (got a sample of that, too, at Sephora) even if it is intended as a men’s fragrance.

I love this but it reminds me a lot of Atelier Cologne's Orange Sanguine. Especially at the beginning its very orange, just pure orange. Afterwards I do get some white florals and a tiny bit of spice
