Tropical Sunset

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! This is NOT your typical "beach" perfume..THANK GOODNESS. NO, it doesn't smell like the ocean...or sunscreen.. or the dreaded tropical coconut pineapple cliché..no. This is a sunset, sitting on the lenai, by stands of citrus trees, feeling that warmth on your skin, as the sun begins to set, with glimpses of the ocean off in the distance...an occasional rush of the waves reaches your ears.. it's.. contentment. It opens with soft citrus notes, nothing sharp, no floor cleaner smell. Then warm, notes emerge and oh my the vetiver with the vanilla and a wisp of patchouli... I find this to be a BEAUTIFUL warm sunset, full of pretty colours.. not a walk through seaweed & wet rocks. If you want that, there are PLENTY of petrichor wonders already out there. Try Aqua Motu intense..or Sydney Rock Pool by Arquiste. The performance is quite good for CSP ..many which I do love but they fade. This one performs well. So VERY HAPPY it doesn't smell like some drink with an umbrella in it..or ANOTHER watery petrichor been-there- done that. Or a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic.. If you want a DIFFERENT sunset, try this beauty. It's definitely on my wishlist.

This is too tropical in a way that a French person would think of the tropical heat. It kind of smells like Piña Colada, I think it would have been more interesting to do marine and sea salt notes, as well as green, with the initial vanilla that they promised. I was kind of disappointed with this one because they have similar perfumes since their brand is the Pacific Islands and their smell - hence the vanilla. In any case, I will not be purchasing this.
