Bois d'Orange

Bois D’Orange was launched at the end of May 2021, a time of year that is part of autumn in Brazil. This time, the perfumer chose the orange color, which is directly linked to the concept, the fragrance, and its name. Bois D'Orange makes me think of those movies that feature houses with many servants and green lands that are lost in the eye. A little farther away, on a hill, is a leafy tree, where the youngest son always runs when he wants to meet a little squirrel, who has become his friend, or to find imaginary shapes in the clouds. And as is common in these stories, the child is always loved by the housekeeper or the cooker, who usually leaves a packed lunch ready for his moments of escape. And so, he (whom I'll call Fábio) sits at the foot of a tree covered with small blue flowers – Guaiacum Officinale –, unties the knot carefully made and enjoys small slices of cheese, ham, some crackers, and oranges previously cross-cut, ready to be detached. In the first attempt to bite into the fruit pulp, the essential oils splash with the twisting of the peel, entering his nostrils and anticipating the succulent aroma. Without worrying, he lets the juice run out of the corners of his mouth and through his fingers, which, upon reaching pieces of the smoked ham, reveal a unique smell. Autumn brings fresher and more constant breezes at the top of the hill and little Fábio notices that the grass and the swaying bushes around give off a green and more aromatic smell. In a small pot, a rhubarb jelly catches his eye and he promptly dips his finger to taste it. When he brings his finger to his mouth, he notices that his hand has not been washed and continues to give off a citrusy and slightly spicy smell, now with less smoky nuances. The sun is setting, darker clouds bring drops of fleeting rain and the tree on the hill reveals a special smell. It's time to run back home and write down notes in his journal. Years passed, but the memory of that afternoon remains vivid in the mind of Fábio, now a grown man. The sensations of that day crossed time and gave life to the fragrance of Bois D'Orange, full of natural tones, easiness, and thought to last a long time, to the point of being remembered in the future. Another page of the journal was turned and now we share the innocence of that boy, who sucked his fingertips, interpreted the aromas and one day became a perfumer. Meanwhile, I still smell that orange, whose juice ran through his fingers, waiting for the next story.

Extremely citric and woody, this is the perfume by Condé Parfums where the color of the bottle and the name best refer to the content. Perfect for summer, although citrus fruits are versatile, this one asks for sun. Initial burst is literally tangerine peel, a very explosive and acidic citrus. After 5 minutes, another citrus cocktail comes in, the "sharper" citrus part calms down and a more full-bodied citrus comes in, orange literally takes over and at the bottom a mix of lemon, lime and bergamot. An ultra natural perfume, the perfumer managed to put in the bottle a mixture of citrus fruits with a more natural aroma than the fruits themselves. This perfume reminds me of some Annick Goutal, perhaps Eau du Sud, and the drying reminded me of Declaration Cartier, Terre Hermes, Guerlain L'eau Boisee. A niche quality perfume, naturalness of the NICHO notes and very easy to please, another gateway for those who want to venture into the niche without getting scared by something very complex. Refreshing perfume, gives the feeling of cleanliness, to lovers of natural citrus fruits to the extreme, perfect shot!!!

Another very good parfum by Condé Parfum! A little bitter at first, but soon a gorgeous citrics appear to bring a long lasting sweetness and woody sensation. Love it.

Com ingredientes da perfumaria de nicho esse cítrico amadeirado marcante como os perfumes da casa Condé, vem com uma laranja evidente e natural bem gostosa, parecendo estar mesmo em um pomar de laranja, percebe-se uma entrada diferenciada abrindo uma laranja bem suculenta, bem fresco, bastante bergamota, não é um perfume só para o outono, é um perfume versátil, que perfumaço.

@Cassiano I love your descriptive stories you've attached to each of these perfumes. I don't think people appreciate olfactive arts-just like sound and visual art tells a story, so does olfactory artistic creations if you're creative enough and appreciate the senses that aroma.
