Birthday Suit

I’m obsessed with this perfume. I received a sample and will definitely purchase a full bottle. It smells just like a vanilla birthday cake after you blown out the candles. Sweet and slightly smoky is perfect and I have nothing like it in my collection.

A sexy vanilla with a smoky depth that isn’t too overwhelming. The almond also shines here right off the bat. I’ve definitely smelled this DNA before, but it’s delicious nonetheless.

I LOVE this although it's not my usual type. Light, airy, sweet, musky, yet smoky. Doesn't sound like much on paper, but it's lovely! Not your average vanilla.

UGH this is perfect 👏😩 it’s gourmand but you can really pick out the candles and smoke, which gives it somewhat of a niche twist. To me, it’s a masterpiece.

something about this is ALmost giving a bit of honey bun with the thick vanilla scent and I LITERALLY AM OBSESSED

I loooooove this! It definitely smells like cake and musk. I never imagined those two together but its beautiful!

Usually, I'm a vanilla hater. However, something about this scent feels comforting, and the slight hint of smoke from the "blown-out candle note" adds a bit of depth to a note (vanilla) I typically find bland and lacklustre. Maybe I can handle the vanilla is this as it is also "vanilla cake" rather than just traditional vanilla, and also features chocolate frosting and almond extract which adds a richness to the scent. Typically, I find gourmonds to not feel natural to the skin, or like walking into Bath and Bodyworks but I find birthday suit with it's skin and musk base to feel natural to any feminine wearer. The scent really does transport me to a birthday... I imagine one of my Virgo and Capricorn friends in the fall/winter having an intimate birthday party in their home while theres rain or snow outside. Surrounded by their family in the dark as they blow out the candles and we eat on paper plates. It's down to earth, warm, and personal. However, not too complex or unique in my opinion as there are other scents that also paly with the idea of birthdays, last birthdays, and blown out candles.

this listing at time of review is missing some notes that make this fragrance so interesting, and perhaps deal breaking for some. chocolate frosting, blown out birthday candles + smoke, and almond extract. it starts out gourmand with cake and frosting, but dries down waxy and smokey with an almond tinged skin musk. if all notes were listed, i’d put blown out birthday candles first with a gourmand backdrop. it’s an interesting scent and not unpleasant, but i think those looking for a simple gourmand might be disappointed. overall projection and longevity are moderate. unique but not unwearable. cool scent to branch out with. not full bottle worthy for me but i like the concept.

I bought this perfume for my younger sister, who is more partial to sugary scents than I, and she loves it! A few days ago she told me that it “made my friends want to lick my neck (where she had applied it) up and down every time we hugged!” Which after some clarification is apparently a good thing. As I said, it’s a bit too saccharine for me, but the musky, smoky notes of the skin and candle are enough to redeem it in my eyes. Very nice scent, perfect if you want your friends to... lick you?

I noticed that the data shows most people LOVE it or thought it was OK. For me, between the two, I love them both, but I could live without them. There are many fragrances that havethis DNA, so I would need them to add something that seperates them, in some way. Something that would make it unique and full bottle worthy.

I'm not saying this smells amazing, but whoever made it did an incredible jobs. It smells exactly like the notes. I do think it can smell a little like BO, but it really does smell like the notes.

Nioze. V musky sweet vanilla cream. Sexy strong vanilla. Also, wait for the dry down, the beginning is v strange like burnt hazelnut biscottis lol pungent musky vanilla bomb.

I didn't enjoy this. The smoke had the waxy quality of a blown out candle which I did enjoy and I'd love to see in another fragrance. The combination of the wax and the sugar sweet vanilla cake was very realistic and unpleasant to me. The woodiness on the drydown was pleasant.

This just smells like a thick vanilla to me. Not even a hint of the blown out birthday candles or skin musk that was promised. I didn't have high expectations and I was still disappointed.

At first it's nice and cake like. Very sweet but nice. The dry down to me is unpleasant. Very waxy and i get the blown out candles. If you like this, it's good. Just not for me.

I wanted to like this one. The idea of smelling like a birthday cake sounded so fun, but when I applied it to my skin, the smell reminded me of this horrible, HORRIBLE cheap perfume I tried from the dollar store once. Vanilla Pearl by Belcam Beauty, I think it was called? Anyway this isn't a safe blind buy. Sample it first to see if you like it or not.

There are a couple more notes than are shown: cake, almond, coconut whip frosting, musk, and blown out candles. I really like this fragrance it’s sweet, a bit dark with the chocolate frosting and almondy cake. There’s a tiny whiff of waxy candles but it’s not prominent. This reminds me of a less overpowering Chocolate Queen by Navitus. But, this also has a lot of musk. It’s a warm clean musk. It doesn’t screech thank goodness. It’s nutty, chocolatey, creamy but Chocolate Queen was way to cocoa powder forward and extremely bitter. This one is the more refined smoother blend.

The scent has nothing to do with a skin scent. Don’t fall for it. It’s a pure gourmand — smells like cake, with sweet vanilla, sponge cake, a bit of buttercream, and maybe even a hint of almond. To me, it even smells a bit like ink — like someone is writing in their diary next to a slice of red velvet cake. Reminiscent of Vanilla Haze by Fugazzi, but better in my opinion — lighter, fluffier, tastier.

I chose this as my monthly perfume from scent box. The initial notes appealed to me, apart from the smoke. On initial spray it smells of vanilla cake and very pleasant. However once dried down i get a plasticky, leathery smell. Really disappointed as it started so well. Definitely not a safe blind buy unless you like leathery perfumes

I like this one. For me- I get the cake, and also a tiny bit of smokiness from the blown out candle note. Its similar to Dulce by Rosie Jane but with a bit more depth.

I got a large sample of this and I absolutely adore it!! I would absolutely buy a bottle if it wasn’t as expensive. It’s sweet but also spicy and sexy.
