DISCOFLOWER

Was kindly given a sample from the brand at Esxence. On paper, this was a love at first sniff for me, but after wearing it for the day today, I've struggled to smell it much, and gone through a whole 2ml in about 8 hours. It disappears after about 3 hours and there is minimal sillage, but I still really enjoy the fragrance, I just wouldn't personally buy it based on the performance. It really is somewhat unique as it doesn't remind me of anything else I've smelt directly. I get the pear and musk most prominently, with tuberose in the background. The closest scent would be Matiere Premiere's French Flower - but where that has tuberose most strongly to me, and has a crystalline brightness, Discoflower is much more muted and less transparent feeling - the pear gives fruitiness and the musk is slightly mysterious and dusty feeling. It's light and ethereal overall with just a hint of sweetness from the pear, but is far less sweet than the aforementioned FF. I enjoyed my sample but have to downgrade to just a like based on the wearing experience.

Disco Flower is a feminine white floral, dressed in pear, and ready for A Midsummer Night's Dream. Even though the Mirabilis is the featured accord, tuberose steals the show. It is a soft, cloudy musk with vanilla and ambroxan. It's beachy and has a soft sunscreen undertone. This doesn't have a huge projection, but it wears beautifully, nonetheless. It's a completely different direction from Coreterno. I almost forgot it was even from them because it carries such an airy, luminous energy compared to their dark aesthetic. It's Blondie among the brand's rocker inspired fragrance lineup.

I got my hands on a sample of the most recent Coreterno launch, and didn't hesitate to douse myself in it, since the notes sounded pretty inoffensive. And it is indeed a very inoffensive perfume. It opens with a bubblegummy pear, and it dries down to a generic scented stationary paper with some sad-eyed puppy with a hat on it, that we used to love and collect as 1990s little girls. Then it evolves to a somehow bitterish musk and tuttifrutti bear gummies. Nothing spectacular, but nice and appropriate for any summer or spring occasion. Nothing that we haven't already smelt, but with a super cool bottle. Plus the brand is cruelty free!

I waffle between really liking the florals and thinking this smells like public restroom hand soap which seems to be a recurring issue for me and pear notes. A shame, because I love pears.
